XV has a better party (an actual party for one) , better RPG mechanics, actual exploration and better sense of scale and world and place, battery dialog and banter, better music, better graphics and animation, better traversal and feeling of being in the world.

Do people actually like XVs protagonists? To me it felt like the most forced "See? We're such good friends haha what funny banter we have" generic group of "friends" ever conceived. It's like they're acting to be friends despite not really caring about each other and as soon as the show's over they go their own way without ever talking to each other.
I actually enjoyed them quite a bit. I liked the game though. It was my first FF though. Oddly enough, they had that bro family feel that was pretty damn comfy. Prompto was the little brother, Gladio was that Dad, with Ignis kind of being the Mom. Hell, I used Noctis gear for my BLM glamour, and use the Regalia to move my friends around with me in XIV. I really feel I look back on XV more fondly than most. Honestly it's why I don't get Barry's grudge, because I enjoyed it, was playing XIV last night, and am hype for XVI, and VII Rebirth.

that will likely frick how the game's progression feels since you'll start with everything unlocked/all the eikons available. I think it'd be better just to suck it up and play through once on normal or, best case scenario, download one of the very basic mods these games always have that just doubles the incoming damage, which should be enough to make normal not feel braindead.

Genuinely one of the best demos I've ever played. Pure kino. Got goosebumps when the two dominants were epically battling during the cutscene. Also never seen a game do qtes for doors and it was super badass, the PS5's adaptive triggers really shine here. Story is also great, it's refreshing to finally get a grimdark fantasy game with complex characters that have sex and are more than just one dimensional tropes like in GoT.
Gameplay is also pure bliss. It was so sick jumping into dudes and mashing square for a while, never had to use a potion either so wasnt frustrating at all. Flashy, beautiful graphics accentuate all of Clive's moves too and it ran at a solid 4k 60fps the whole time. The Eikon challenge was even better because I had variations of the same move but with different particle effects.

The exclusivity deal is until the end of this year, but Yoshi has said in interviews not to expect a PC release any time soon and definitely not by then. This might be the corpo line fed to him to keep Sony happy but I wouldn't bet on it.

They use the PS5's memory architecture as a crutch for asset loading to reduce load times.
PC can do the same with DirectStorage now, but that tech is new and new tech is always slow to be adopted. Forspoken had it and it was terribly implemented in its port.

IMO yes but without knowing how XVI will play out I don't know how easily I can recommend XIV to someone who enjoys the former.
Yes if you're looking for a decent english vocal performance and overall good story. No if you want to use your time well; ARR alone is 80+ hours of content, same goes for HW where the story gets genuinely really fricking good. Then there's a massive drop in quality because Maehiro got pulled to start writing FFXVI instead of the game, which doesn't really recover until ShB, but that's probably the best story in a Final Fantasy game since before 13 released.
If what you care about is pure story, there's a ton of it, but its attached to a game with pretty shit gameplay until you're like level 70 upwards. And even then tab target MMO games are inherently bad and only really fun to play at top level with multiple good players. >t. savage player

The sudden nature of when people died in the demo really struck me. No heroics, no drawn out death scenes, they were just fricking gone.
And like 5/6 of the named characters deaths were caused by Eikons. Really hammers home right away how destructive a force they are.

I actually enjoyed them quite a bit. I liked the game though. It was my first FF though. Oddly enough, they had that bro family feel that was pretty damn comfy. Prompto was the little brother, Gladio was that Dad, with Ignis kind of being the Mom. Hell, I used Noctis gear for my BLM glamour, and use the Regalia to move my friends around with me in XIV. I really feel I look back on XV more fondly than most. Honestly it's why I don't get Barry's grudge, because I enjoyed it, was playing XIV last night, and am hype for XVI, and VII Rebirth.

I think it'd be better just to suck it up and play through once on normal or, best case scenario, download one of the very basic mods these games always have that just doubles the incoming damage, which should be enough to make normal not feel braindead.

Genuinely one of the best demos I've ever played. Pure kino. Got goosebumps when the two dominants were epically battling during the cutscene. Also never seen a game do qtes for doors and it was super badass, the PS5's adaptive triggers really shine here. Story is also great, it's refreshing to finally get a grimdark fantasy game with complex characters that have sex and are more than just one dimensional tropes like in GoT.
Gameplay is also pure bliss. It was so sick jumping into dudes and mashing square for a while, never had to use a potion either so wasnt frustrating at all. Flashy, beautiful graphics accentuate all of Clive's moves too and it ran at a solid 4k 60fps the whole time. The Eikon challenge was even better because I had variations of the same move but with different particle effects.

IMO yes but without knowing how XVI will play out I don't know how easily I can recommend XIV to someone who enjoys the former.
Yes if you're looking for a decent english vocal performance and overall good story. No if you want to use your time well; ARR alone is 80+ hours of content, same goes for HW where the story gets genuinely really fricking good. Then there's a massive drop in quality because Maehiro got pulled to start writing FFXVI instead of the game, which doesn't really recover until ShB, but that's probably the best story in a Final Fantasy game since before 13 released.
If what you care about is pure story, there's a ton of it, but its attached to a game with pretty shit gameplay until you're like level 70 upwards. And even then tab target MMO games are inherently bad and only really fun to play at top level with multiple good players.
