I'll pirate it when the PC version is out
I did that for Stranger of Paradise and kind of regret it..
It was so good I wish I had bought it
You can buy me a copy
why not buy it now?
I was going to wait to upgrade my pc or get a ps5pro but since they patched a good amount of the base game I think I'll just play it now and replay the entire thing later on stronger hardware
that's what I'm doing
a good time
>since they patched a good amount of the base game
What'd they do?
I just picked 16 up as I saw the last dlc is landing. What am I in for?
a real fricking good game, not perfect, but i love it so much
Kino
Pure garbage.
That's Rebirth, which undersold this game
No, Rebirth is one of the best FFs ever made and mogs XVI in every single regard. It's both a more satisfying and more challenging action game, and it's also an actual RPG.
nah, xvi still mogs it as an action game. rebirth is the better rpg for sure tho
Burf fails as an rpg too. Nice to play a game that doesn't have ubisoft towers like Stillbirth
XVI is a shitty action game because you spend half your time doing a single filler combo while you wait on MMO cooldowns. Rebirth's ATB system encourages you to stay active and play offensively to recharge your ATB.
We're talking about gameplay here, Pablo.
ah you mean rebirth with hitstop cancer for days
Rebirth mindbroke Barry so hard he's siding with XVI against it? What the frick did I miss?
We talking Rebirth's pajeet dev team or what
xvi is trash
at least rebirth is a game not a movie
Let me guess, are you going to pull up the “all cutscene” YouTube videos that don’t even have consistent lengths?
The movie game Redditbirth sold less
Rebirth doesn't even have a jump button. I've never seen a game have to come up with the most weird solution to get your characters in the air. And your idea of rebirth incentivizing offensive gameplay is just attacking an enemy's weakness to pressure them. that's prescriptive ass game design. There's no cancels outside of tifa so you're animation-locked into everything, pausing the game every time you want to use atb is annoying, and although they improved roll and block there's no jump button, so there's still points where you just have to take damage. Again, this is fine and works for an rpg, but the action mechanics suffer for it.
He's around so many ESG Black folk in game you'd think Cloud would at least be able to leap an inch off the ground.
nta, but there's a difference between an ARPG, an action game, and an RPG.
>Rebirth doesn't even have a jump button.
Why does that matter?
>I've never seen a game have to come up with the most weird solution to get your characters in the air.
You hold the attack button.
>And your idea of rebirth incentivizing offensive gameplay is just attacking an enemy's weakness to pressure them.
No, I'm talking about the ATB system. It recharges from your attacks instead of just sitting on your ass waiting, so staying in the enemy's face and staying offensive gives you more ATB you use to spend on abilities. In XVI you're just doing a basic combo and looking at cooldown timers.
>pausing the game every time you want to use atb is annoying
You don't need to do that. You set shortcuts to L1.
>so there's still points where you just have to take damage.
Every single instance of damage in the game is blockable. You can no-damage any fight.
>Rebirth doesn't even have a jump button.
>Why does that matter?
Oh, you definitely aren't familiar with FF14 if you're asking that.
No, I played FF14 from 1.0 so I'm well aware of the WoW migrants who shit themselves over 1.0 not having a jump button. Jump buttons only matter if a game is designed around having one. Zelda doesn't have a jump button either, because it's not designed with a jump button in mind.
>Muh WoW
Yeah man, I love wasting several minutes because I have to walk around tiny ledges in La Noscea.
Shut up. The lack of jumping in 1.0 was really goddamn stupid, and the inability to determine your elevation and therefore choose between attack options on command in Rebirth is similarly stupid.
Not every game needs a jump, but this is a real stupid one to argue that for.
>The lack of jumping in 1.0 was really goddamn stupid
I appreciated 1.0 being like XI where ADHD autists couldn't jump around incessantly like a moron. All 1.0 needed on the movement end of things was an option to mount over little fence lines, or an auto-hop over small ledges, so you weren't wasting time running around them instead.
Which is what FFXIII did, but we don't talk about that game here
>All 1.0 needed on the movement end of things was an option to mount over little fence lines, or an auto-hop over small ledges, so you weren't wasting time running around them instead.
Yeah.
You could call that a jump, you stupid motherfricker.
Stop being disingenuous, you know what I meant.
And you knew what I meant, but you decided to be the semantics homosexual first.
7R's solutions to aerial combat suck ass.
>I played FF14 from 1.0
Post tattoo.
I'm not logged into the game right now, I'm playing FFIX.
>Zelda also doesn't have aerial combos
Every character in Rebirth with aerial combos has a command for getting into the air.
>and your singular playable character
You play three characters at a time, and there are seven total.
Zelda also doesn't have aerial combos, and your singular playable character has ranged weapons and sometimes magic.
>why does that matter
if you don't immediately get the offensive and defensive benefit to jumping in an action game, I can't say much else here. Also, characters are jumping from crazy heights and slicing buildings but can't jump off the ground?
>you hold the attack button
or they could just add a jump button and not have cloud fly up there all jank-like
>ATB recharges off of staying aggressive
which is nice, but that aggression is still fishing for weaknesses and pressuring the enemy as much as you can
>you can set shortcuts
but not for everything
>every instance of damage is blockable
even if your defense is good and you're avoiding damage, there's two other people on your team likely getting their shit kicked in
>Also, characters are jumping from crazy heights and slicing buildings but can't jump off the ground?
They can jump off the ground. There's just not a single dedicated button.
>which is nice, but that aggression is still fishing for weaknesses and pressuring the enemy as much as you can
No, it's not. I'm not talking about pressuring or hitting weaknesses at all. Have you played the game you're trying to talk about? Because somehow you're still not understanding that I'm talking about using the square button to attack the enemy and refill your ATB gauge, which is like the most basic element of the gameplay.
>but not for everything
Yes, you can. You can set shortcuts for everything.
>even if your defense is good and you're avoiding damage, there's two other people on your team likely getting their shit kicked in
Not if you give them precision defense materia. You can also use synergy abilities to pull them out of danger.
>they can jump off the ground, there's just no dedicated button
which is the issue. they went about it in the weirdest way possible instead of just...adding a jump button. it's why aerial combat still doesn't feel good
Also, I know you're talking about the ATB filling up off of hits, and what I'm trying to say is that playing aggressive and getting more ATB still ends in the player just using that ATB to go into the loop of pressuring by hitting weaknesses and staggering enemies. It rewards aggression, yes, but its still baked in overly prescriptive combat design.
nta, but I fricking hated 15 and 16's jump button because it's the same button as another function, and I'd too often jump instead of doing the action I intended.
a part of me died on the inside every time i did a little fricking hop when I wanted to do something else.
>have a jump button
NO BING BING WAHOO FOR YOU
xvi has less action mechanics than xv
>less
*fewer
>s-sar please redeem rebirth
The parts about Rebirth that are good are the aspects lifted from the original. All the new stuff blows.
>it's a cutscene Black person
Stick to netflix.
>Not liking generic AAA filler content = only liking cutscenes
I fricking wish Rebirth was good outside of being FF7 again, I really do.
I thought rebirth completely butchered everything or something?
It's like Remake where the parts they actually adapted correctly are good, but the changes/new shit is really mediocre or outright bad.
Which is not true.
remake does most of the original scenes well, save maybe Dyne since it's hammed up so much
The problem is that every well done scene is immediately followed with nu-lore or DUDE SEPHIROTH
>No, Rebirth is one of the best FFs ever made and mogs XVI in every single regard
not the sale regards. HAHAHAHAHAHAH
I want you third world Black folk obsessed with sales numbers more than the actual video games to get the frick off my board. Holy shit, rangeban the entire continent of Asia. You are a disease.
Buy the games you say are doing well, or alternatively shut the frick up when the sales don't match your arguments.
>Buy the games you say are doing well
I buy or pirate whatever fricking games I want and form my own opinions. I do not give a single frick about sales or reviews like you shitskinned golems who do nothing but spam the board with DUDE LOOK AT THE SALES NUMBERS WHERE ARE THE SALES WHEN ARE THEY RELEASING SALES NUMBERS OHNONONONON THE REVIEWS LOOK AT THE REVIEWS
FRICKING have a nice day YOU GOD DAMN MONKEY YOU ARE A DISEASE
Less talk more redeem, pajeet.
No game with time jannies in it mogs any game at anything. Frick Nomura, frick Nojima, frick Kitase, and frick their enablers.
Pure Kino
Solid game just don’t expect much. Sound track is great.
boredom
honestly a really boring game with no exploration whatsoever
final fantasy 7 rebirth is honestly a vastly superior game
the demo/prologue of the game is where all the effort went and the only memorable part of the game is the bahamut fight
cbu3 should stick to mmos
>honestly a really boring game with no exploration whatsoever
pretty much
the worst ff
>What am I in for?
The greatest game of all time
Great highs and sloging lows. If you can put up with the Awful slog half way though the game youre all set for fun.
Absolute kinofest, so long as you skip 80% of the sidequests.
I like most of the sidequests because they expanded on the world just some were 1000% better than others. I did like the 3 part quests with us getting ingredients from a old cook book for our cook to make
>because they expanded on the world just some were 1000% better than others.
I agree they did a good job of those wish they did more with tarja she would of been great as a white mage...
kino. one of my favorite games.
A half-baked RPG with a half-baked action combat system with serious balancing issues. Not that the game is hard, mind you. But that the game has a hard time balancing combat encounters to be satisfying. Enemies either have too little HP and you can't scratch itch of engaging with the combat mechanics or enemies have way too much HP and seriously overstay their welcome. The game is also in line with the typical FF stagger mechanic that make fighting bosses unfun. The Archon battles are really fun to experience tho, and the characters, especially Clive himself, are very endearing

I knew Jill looked familiar, she's just Stella.
You really weren't memeing.
>Stella
First Stellagay, now who is Stella?
>who is Stella?
You're that new huh?
I mean I guess. I didn't know about this Stella/Stellagay until I went into FF threads for the first time. Come to think of it she really does look like Hill.
Should I tell him
Yeah I'll play it, been looking forward to jumping back in for some more story but that Palace of the dead mode is what has me more excited.
Played the game on PS5 - waiting for the PC release so i can play it again but this time with the DLC as well.
Upgraded my PC recently with this being one of the main reasons.
Yes I recently went back to it to get the rest of the trophies and do the first dlc
>they actually included the music from the first trailer as Leviathan's theme
No.
I played and enjoyed the base game, but I'm not really too into that style of gameplay. Never cared about Devil May Cry or stuff like that. Just not my genre.
I'll probably watch a video of the DLCs at some point.
Playing through Rebirth and Tactics Ogre Reborn at the moment, and I'll probably play the post games for both of those.
just equip the auto-dodge and press-square-to-win accessories if you want the Rebirth experience senpai
That doesn't make sense. They play completely differently.
>mash square to do flashy moves while never being stunlocked
sounds like Rebirth to me
But that's not how it plays.
This seems like a low-info shitpost.
Not really. One's just less involved than the other.
Not really. They have very different focuses and play very differently.
>They have very different focuses
Yeah, one's focused on being a linear story game with a lot of redundant side content and the other shoves all that redundant shit in your face and forces you to play it at the expense of pacing.
>and play very differently
Again, aside from the intensity - not really.
Has Ganker ever rode the crimson tide?
underrated
No, iew
Every now and then I'll catch my GF's cycle a little before it is done and get my dick covered in little scabs and blood crusties when I pull out
So uh
What the frick is this?
Bloody Palace superboss they've hinted at?
you must fight the evil version of yourself again to attain godly powers
>uses player moveset but has ALL the eikons at once and can string them together
>has Ultima as a fleshed out moveset
Nah that's a new thing for Clive, probably a new improved LB. He has a new move called ascension, it's probably that. All we know about the superboss is that it's not Gilgamesh.
>He has a new move called ascension
Where did you see it?
>Secret boss is Clive at maximum Eikonic power
Nope because im still fricking playing Rebirth, this game is LONG jesus christ although im enjoying it a lot, and my completionist side of games wont let me rush it in 2 days so i can play the DLC on release day, i will be playing it some time in the next week probably, last weekend of April at most
No. I could barely get through the base game because it's boring.
How about they announce the pc port release date already?
Oh look its the game that Rebirth couldn't outsell
Make your final bets. Did ourguy Clive pull through the ending?
He just might have.
>did Clive live??
yeah
koji fox was way too giddy about knowing the answer
who cares this DLC is pre-ending they wont give away the answer, this is the same blade runner shit all over again, "was he a replicant", use your imagination, one of my fav aspects of FFXVI is how open ended is in everything
>Did Clive die?
>Did Joshua die?
>Was all the game a fantasy (heh) book or was it a recollection of events so distant that the world considers it fantasy?
Your choice!
Open-ended endings just mean the writer is too shit to make an ending and also too pussy to commit to something. You're a homosexual for enjoying them.
>choose your own adventure
so its not a game or ff and has no ending
Stop enabling this shit you doormat.
I played 60 hours of this JRPG for this one single character and you are gonna blue ball me on his fate?
Yes? Are you fricking stupid? That was clear from the vanilla ending if you're not a golem who play through the game with your eyes glazed over.
Everyone did. Dion, Joshua and clive. it just a happy ending
so many "joshua was raised" gays are about to get BTFO'd
Hopefully he doesn’t lose just his arm this time now that he is at full power
Eh, paying 1 arm for a happy ending is an acceptable outcome for his story.
Well that’s what happened but for some reason people think he died lol
Yes and Jill is pregnant. They name their son Joshua. I’d love for OG Joshua and Dion to be alive too, but I don’t see it happening.
calling it now, secret boss is diabolos. boring answer would be a clive/ultima fight.
Gilgamesh, I'm calling it the secret boss will be Greg.
I know its tradition but I got gilgamesh fatigue
Rebirth's version dragged on and on, couldn't wait to get it done and over with.
I thought he was fine in rebirth but I came off of jack's game before that. so superboss greg into superboss greg has me winded already.
that would be cool
too bad we've already fought him like 15 times in XIV
Has been playing FF games for 15 years
Clive is easily in top 3 of the FF protagonist and his relationships with Jill are probably the second-best love story after Tidus/Yuna
Clive and Jill's relationship is very cute and believable, I really enjoyed the build up and pay off.
>two adults that are obviously into each other hang out for 5 years without fricking
That's the most believable part of their "relationship"
I've been there.
Seeing how they were both awkward nerds, we’re busying saving bearers and trying to find a new place to stay its believable
>Clive
>awkward nerd
How is he not awkward when dealing with Jill ?
Based
Lost Odyssey was the true XIII
yeah, and my 10 year old self ditched both lmao
XII was kino
>XII was kino
Which is weird, because its staunchest opponents claim that it's not a real Final Fantasy story (or even game) but never take the time to explain why.
Final Fantasy is about self-determination 12 is FF as it can get. Like 7 honestly.
I don't like being harsh to the people who put a ton of love and effort into these games.
But yeah, more or less.
imma keep it real with u chief, Jill is easily one of the most boring videogame characters ive encountered, agree with Clive tho
Jill is the wife, I love her she's there to support Clive not upstage him. She is the woman behind the man. Man, if I had Jill as a wife I'd be so happy.
>Again, aside from the intensity - not really.
Really. I played both. They don't play the same, nothing to do with intensity.
clicked wrong post.
>she's there to support Clive not upstage him.
There's support, and then there's doing barely fricking anything and having very little character development.
She doesn't need to upstage him, she needs to actually have character to do that.
She's the Kairi of FF.
Jill is boring as frick.
>his relationships with Jill are probably the second-best love story after Tidus/Yuna
Lol no. Jill is a boring "yes" ma'am for Clive, I haven't seen a deader love interest since Serah from FFXIII and even she gets better.
I like Jill
My wife
This was nice. It would've been nicer if either we got a lot more letters from her like this or she had the ability to have said any of this in person to Clive.
Had to leave time for Martha's dialogue, sorry.
Yea we only got two letters
>Would that we had more time to speak to each other in person
Like when you were idling in the Hideaway for the second half of the game or following Clive wherever he went. But maybe I'm being too hard on Jill. Maybe the devs realized towards the end of development that Jill came off as dull as a doorknob and threw in some letters to fill her out. Then again, Clive got a few letters from a few other characters, but I don't remember what any of them said. I do remember Jill's letter, because it seemed so different from how she was in-person.
clive is objectively the worst protag and jill is a literal nothing character
even ff1 princess sarah is more a character and she has like 2 sentences of dialog
Wrong opinion
>launches in a little bit more than 24 hours
>can't preorder if you purchased the other DLC separately
>seemingly no preload
I actually wanted to enjoy the game with better graphics on PC, but I don't have time to do the whole game again for the new DLC. I will probably get Rising Tide at release and might buy the PC version again a few years at a bargain, unless I'd be able to somehow transfer my savefile to the PC version kek.
>DLC is set before the end of the game
What is it with these fricking Japanese devs and this moronic ass idea?
Pretty sure that's how most DLC is handled, even in western games.
Most DLC is set before the ending of the game, even though it would be nice if more developers did epilogue DLC.
This DLC does seem to have some effect on the ending though because they teased something happens to Clive due to now being "complete" with all the Eikons.
Yes.
>own the game on PS5
>want to wait for the PC release and play the DLC there
>but still feel the urge to get it on console again and jump right back in
I am sure the PC release is only a few months away. Definitely.
just play it twice
it's great the second time through
It's at least a year away.
Nah i expect a fall release date personally.
Square Enix need some FF slop to release later this year to pump the quarter results up. Summer has XIV Dawntrail and XVI definitely won't collide with that - but nothing speaks against a September/October release.
nah, its coming out this year for sure
I love shit like that. hope its nice and challenging
Frick yeah I am. Might replay the whole game after I'm done too
>Have to beat all 20 floors of the new gamemode in FF mode and with S ranks to unlock a secret boss
Oh god, I hope it doesn't take a lot of time to beat all 20.
yeah
hopefully the Leviathan eikon has some cool moves, gonna push some tonberry's shit in
i come from the future, secret super boss is zenos from ff14
I tried the FF16 demo last week and will definitely grab the game soon but I'm gonna wait until the next patch drops alongside the DLC with full rebinding since having dodge on R1 instead of Circle feels weird.
L M A O
Most people didnt even know xvi released until the game won best ost at the game awards
>dlc finally releases
>completely forgotten how the combat works/controls
hate that shit
I know when I did the first dlc the first boss fricked me up because I forgotten everything but I beat him second try
>leviathan is just a watergun
I already have dragon for pew pew. I don't need a second one.
>doesn't wanna set up leviathan + satellite for double pew pew
wonder how crazy it will go with swiftshot
Oh is this the thread where we pretend a watered down action game with "cinematic" action aka QTE is cool?
People talk about how good God of War 2 and Ghost of Sparta are all the time, so why not?
>rebirth where you have to scale bizarro sephiroth's back with the slowest climbing animation known to man and QTE his head
>Oh is this the thread where we pretend a watered down action game with "cinematic" action aka QTE is cool?
But enough about The Last of Us, also you mixed shooter with action.
THEY NERFED MY FANGS
I see you read the numeral wrong, moron.
yeah, no clue what you're even talking about, call me moronic all you want, doesn't change the fact my fangs were nerfed
if there's some setting that gives them length then let me know
>miqo poster is stupid
dumb cat.
would 16s combat work for a new game if they drop the timed cooldowns on special attacks and instead use a quasi atb system where normal attacks build up a bar that you can empty to use special attacks instead
that way you balance how fast those special attacks can be used again on bosses
Yes, that would make it a thousand times better. To make it perfect add combo strings too.
So like how Odin and now Leviathan work?
that seems like a quality system
Drop the timed cooldowns, add a party with ability to swap to other members, then the gameplay could be fine.
They're not using FF16's combat system for 17, the DLC director has already alluded to the change in a recent interview due to feedback. It's a shame because I love it and think it's a lot of complaining from old fans of the series who won't move on. They even made FF7remake and FF7rebirth for the older fans but they still aren't happy they're being catered to and feel the need to shit on 16 and people who enjoy that game.
Kind of sad that it will probably be 5 to 10 years for FF17 because they are probably going to start over from scratch, again.
They tried something new with 16 and for me it worked, I hated FF15's playstyle and combat but 16 felt really good. That said, even though one of the big things that have defined Final Fantasy is change and there are a lot of people who hated the change 16 made.
It's not too awful weird, really. There was similar initial backlash with FF11.
A genre change in a mainline FF game is gonna be especially rough for a lot of people expecting a certain genre, it isn't so much changing systems with the genre. It's completely changing the genre.
Usually with different genres, you made a side FF then people are more comfortable with it.
I think 16's gameplay has potential and that is why I am kind of sad to hear that the implication is that they are just going to trash it to start over again with 17, which seems like something Yoshida wanted to avoid because prior to release he was talking about how it is kind of bad that the series is now 5 to 10 years between mainline titles.
I don’t really care for dmc combat but o liked FFXVI enough, if it played just like kingdom hearts 2 I would be very happy, I think all games should play like kh2
I enjoyed 16, but I don't want that (specific) system ever again, without some severe changes. I don't plan on getting the DLC, I enjoyed my sole playthrough.
I also enjoy Rebirth. The system feels overall better to me, and is a huge improvement over Remake. It's not perfect, but it's a decent base.
I enjoyed the OG 7. I started on the SNES FFs back in the day.
I gave the combat of 16 and honest shot and even completed the game. Didn't really work for me.
yeah dude I love only having 4 skills and no spells. frick off back to asshomosexual games
You want a game that has a more traditional gameplay with spells and a party system? They made a game for you it's called FF7remake and Rebirth.
You want a game with action combat, stats, loot and a party system? They made a game for you it's called Strangers of Paradise and it's got a cool little story linking to the very first FF game.
You want a brand new story, with amazing visuals, insane boss fights and fast combat? They made a game for you it's FFXVI.
Why are you guys only so focused on a singular game, I played them all I'm having a lot of fun recently with the resurgence of FF games.
Bitch, they are not only going to reuse XVI's combat but all the released and unreleased assets for the next game. Do you honestly think they are gonna throw everything and start from scratch?
t. worked on AAA games.
>Do you honestly think they are gonna throw everything and start from scratch?
Welcome to modern FF anon. How was your cryogenic sleep these past two decades?
Like aren’t most of the final fantasy games have really different combat/gameplay types after 10? I’m sure they will reuse models but that s the norm for final fantasy games now
You are the one who is asleep.
Rebirth used assets from Remake.
KH4 is gonna use assets from KH3.
Forspoken had a shitton of animation ripped 1-1 from Noctis.
Even FF16 had stuff from FFXIV like the moogles.
FFXIII trilogy..etc.
Even Babloyn Fall used assets from XIV.
They don't have the luxury to start over.
Anon did you read my post? I said they will reuse stuff
Do this but also add actual RPG elements and content that isn't stabbing things.
drop the cooldowns and just make it fighting game inputs like in DMC. btw clive's regular parry shortens cooldown time, only learned that recently.
The biggest downgrade on XVI's system was the lack of status/elemental interaction.
>B-but then there would be optimal builds for every enemy
They already conceded about that with the different loadouts.
>color-coded Simon says enemy design is actually a good thing
Frick no
This shit doesnt fly in action games.
If my memory serves me right, ninja theorie did something similar in DMC with the devil arms and angelic weapons.
Enemy were color-coded and coud only be damaged by the atributed type of weapon.
You express yourself through combos in action games, so limiting the stuff you coud do or use just fricks you over.
>game bombs and is poorly received
>gets DLC
It's FF13 all over again. When does 16-2 come out?
the dlc is to bait pc gamers into buying it for an higher price than they would normally
That's the impression I got as well.
Sounds like Rebirth, which sold less than XVI
FF13 became the fastest selling game in the franchise just like FF15, and FF16’s sales were “fine”.
the ff16 dlc is cut content
the leaker revealed 6 months before launch leviathan was cut to make into dlc
Source?
Search "FFXVI Januray Leak"
homie leaked the entire game.
No, post the proof right here in the thread. I’m not going on some quest to find a leak
First fricking link you lazy ass b***h.
Link it then you stupid b***h
>Resetera
>talking about a Ganker "leak"
yeah I already know this is complete bull
>I'm not going on a quest
Some RPG fan you are.
The dlcs are literally cut content from the main game but I mean they cant really sell games for 110$
>>game bombs and is poorly received
>>gets DLC
It could be worse, it could be XV that sold gangbusters and got its DLC cancelled anyway lmao.
ff16 flopped
xv got all its dlc released in 2017 then bonus dlc was announced in 2018 that released then more bonus non canon alternate timeline dlc was announced for 2019 and only that bonus 3rd year non canon alternate timeline dlc was cancelled which was online cancelled because tabata left SE
it only got greenlit due to the previous dlc doing well to begin with
the ff16 dlc is cut content
No one wants you here bazztek.
HKmoron go dilate
Nakazawa worked with kanemori who designed all enemies and combat approach in xv and kept all kanemori base combat actions from 2011
takahashi (deleted from ff7r) is a hack
abe (ff13) is a hack
kujiraoka (Dissidia nt) is a hack
Sato worked on XVs combat and vehicle system
that's the best turn based/atb menu system FF
materia is the single thing that gives ff7 gameplay its iconic status and the only thing giving it any sense of customisation
junction filtered casuals, the issue with ff8 was level scaling not the junction system
sphere grid is universally praised as growth node system
Dress sphere is universally regarded as the best command/turn based atb ff and job fusion
chrono trigger uses regular ATB
9 is generic atb
tactics is generic srpg
12 has no gameplay
That's like saying Kanemori is a battle animator. Like Yoshi-P said Kujiraoka designs systems, not visual effects or animations. Kanemori was the same thing.
kanemori designed the enemy combat you idiot
all the enemies gameplay actions and fight desigh in the game were by him
every single enemy ever shown in 2011 versus and 2013, 2014 and 2015 xv are identical in 2016 xv because they were all under kanemori
>universally regarded
just because it's popular doesn't mean it's good
its popular because its good
ff16 is not popular or good
Maybe when it finally comes to PC
>our game flopped so we are milking the only ones that supported it
frick off
mark my words
17 is going to be a soulslike
it isn't
also here's your ff17 protag
>rollslop
Please no
l will when it gets released on PC.
Why does the gameplay for XVI look like you're barely pressing any buttons?
Because that's how it is. You spend the majority of the time doing a rhythmic square > triangle for your basic combo, and then you use the big eikon abilities when they're off cooldown (R2+either square or triangle). Occasionally you'll press circle to close distance if you have Phoenix, Shiva, or Garuda set. Or if you have Odin you'll press circle to instakill everything.
Because that's what most Action """RPGs""" are, just a shitty version of an actual action game.
Because Square desperately wants to be an action game dev despite all of their previous success being generation-defining titles in the 90s and early 00s.
They have this delusion that no one plays JRPGs anymore, embarrassing themselves repeatedly with half-baked action games while Persona is bigger than ever and Yakuza's redefining the genre
because a lot of people play the game in the most boring way possible. which isn't surprising when they play rpgs primarily https://youtu.be/F53MfLFgdAc?si=5N6ZZPtfvC_CSLg0
Because you can play it like that or you can play it just like dmc https://youtu.be/mgOwE0UnpTY?si=IUvmTWf2_KiEqM90 pretty sure you didn’t look that far if you looked at combo videos
because you only press one button in ff16.
it doesn't even have directional inputs
>free update that has gone live before the dlc hits lets you teleport to the quest giver upon completion
pc gamers you have no idea how lucky you have it
I almost want to just wait and see if it changes the ending. I never even got through Final Fantasy mode with how much my interest died.
so PC version for winter? im double dipping with this but Dawntrial has the summer spot
nah much earlier most likely, summer probably june
rebirth port in december (exclusivity window is much shorter)
>june
You do know elden ring dlc and ffxiv next expansion comes out in June right? They don’t plan on putting it out then, I give it September or October release
Yea I took off two day for it and plan to beat the game on ng+
Of course not. The base game was absolute garbage and unless the DLC somehow overhauls the whole game it'll be the same shit.
He is dead, isn't he? But considering they are coming up with a Dion-themed luxury watch, and for a character with minimal screentime that seems pretty moronic, I'm coping that perhaps he is alive.
Dion is an example of how homosexual characters are done right
Westoids should take notes
It makes sense Japs can write a likeable character who is gay, they have a history of Samurai who took men as lovers and were respected members of society.
>Dion mentioned.
>"What a great gay character".
As you fricks can't name a single thing other than "being gay".
chill
I just wanted one of the three of them to survive the ending. Maybe even see more of the potion girl.
I will when the PC version comes out, gets a sale, and then I'll enjoy it at higher than PS5's 720p.
Until they add a heavy attack and make enemies actually become a threat, i will not play this game again. Having a one button attack is garbage and repetitive and I will never give that up. Also you dodge with circle and attack with square, so near the end of the game i would just use my right hand to defeat enemies since it required so actual positioning or reason for me to use the left stick. The fact that they included items to make this game even easier for subhuman "players" is insane. There is no challenge, just spamming the same buttons and abilities with no real threat.
If this game removed the open zones, cut half the side quests and replaced it with more structured linear content with a heavy attack, it would have been a much better game. They needed to just be an action / combo game and focus on the big cinematic fights and set pieces, then it would have been better.
Instead it tried to be a bunch of games and ended up failing at all of them. I respect what they tried to do, but it definitely failed. Sorry for the rant but this game pissed me off because it could have been amazing with just a few simple choices earlier on.
Now you know how ff15 people felt kek
i actually like how the combat in 15 feels though. 16 just feel like it is built for a heavy attack, or some sort of second option that you can chain different moves together with. And no, the weak ass, boring dog ability doesn't count
>i actually like how the combat in 15 feels though.
The frick are you on about?
its more of an action game and rpg than 16
>just feel like it is built for a heavy attack
Isn’t there an ideal set up of moves you can mix and match for your own play style?
>i actually like how the combat in 15 feels though
Fricking how? The combat is legit the second worst thing in the game
i think it's because it at least feels like it has weight where as 16 is just fast and weightless with heavy sponging enemies. 15 feels like a simple action rpg, but i dont find anything awful with it where as 16 just gets very tiring and repetitive since you're spamming attacks with no need to ever feel threatened. DMC is a bit spongy for combos, but even that has a much heavier feel than 16. I think enemies need to die much faster while also doing much greater damage to you if you ever get hit.
I thought 15 felt more weightless than 16 honestly.
Also in 15 mobs have zero reactions to you hitting them, at least in 16 and rebirth stuff can get staggered
nah like using greatsword vs broadsword feels completely different and there's moves that have slower movement and longer anticipation and greater hitstop and some with fast frantic movement with less, more focus given to hit feedback and multiple layers of hit properties because it actually has a hit attribute system
every single sword on clive is identical and all his abilities have no weight they just slice through everything like paper
ff16 mobs have no hit reactions while everything in 15 does and has a proper stagger system called vulnerable state, not a pathetic one like ff16 where it has combat revolve around getting a stagger
also warpstrike alone mogs the dogshit phoenix shift in ff16
>XV's hold square to win
>Now do this for 8 hours against a giant turtle
ff16 is square to win
in ff16 hold square is phase evasion and consumes mp, doesnt do any attack moron
>b-but this optional superboss
meanwhile in reality your can beat adamatoise in 3 minutes naturally by making use of buffs and special food, warpstrikes and dagger dps with a good loadout
in ff15*
I appreciate this, you summed up my feelings very well. Basically I enjoyed 15 because it actually feels like I'm attacking where as 16 is just a hollow spam fest. It feels fun to fight the average enemy in 15, its not a perfect system or something but i didn't feel like I was endlessly spamming the same attack and abilities with no affect.
ff15s combat reminds me of a worse mystic spearhand
Which combat style is more similar to KH: XV or XVI?
>Until they add a heavy attack
But there is heavy attack what the frick are you talking about, you clearly haven’t looked up the game and damn sure haven’t played it
homie holding square is not a second heavy attack button, nor does it change animations to allow for different combo strings.
>homie holding square is not a second heavy attack button
GS player anon I…
No shit it doesn't count moron ,because its not a genuine heavy attack. Its the same speed, on the same button that doesn't allow me to keep using it as its own string. Its a one time swing that you get by HOLDING the button, its not its own button with its own move set. Fricking npc morons
>that heavy attack doesn’t count
Go be a Black person somewhere else
the heavy can be used to air combo
No
>Immediately better than Rebirth for not having ubi towers
Can you explain why towers are bad?
Can I not simply explore the map without fog of war bullshit like every other baseline FF?
You literally can. You don't even know what you're complaining about. There's not even any fog on the map. The towers do nothing but point out where shit is and give you 10 Chadley points for buying materia.
Not interested in that type of padding, the game also goes out of its way to annoy you with that shit.
It's completely optional. You're only required to hit one tower at Chocobill's ranch as a tutorial for the system and then you can completely ignore it for the rest of the game. You literally don't know what you're complaining about. You just saw a keyword and started flipping your shit.
Literally not optional, the game goes out of its way to stop you and force you to complete them.
No, it does not.
>Posts notorious liar while making claim
What did he mean by this?
The one and only time you're forced to do a tower is the tutorial for the system at Bill's ranch, where you walk five feet away with Chadley and hit the first one. From that point on, you never have to touch a tower again. You're just lying, and you already revealed that you thought the map is hidden and you can't explore without touching them. You're just a liar.
What the frick are you rambling about you insane moron?
>Does not respond to question.
What did he mean by this?
You were also the guy who said there were no pajeets in the Rebirth dev team.
It forces you to complete one tower in the Grasslands.
Counterpoint: XVI's world has absolutely nothing at all.
>Rebirth has 7 playable characters that all do different things and have amazing team up moves and hundreds of spells and abilities to learn
>dozens if not hundreds of mini games and activities all around the world to find
>multiple vehicle types on land and sea
>BUT A TOWER I'M GONNA DIE
>hundreds
>dozens if not hundreds
Keep the hyperbole limited please. Not getting there even when counting the one-off and shitty ones like Cait Sith box throwing or wtf lolwut mushroom picking.
no, 16 was shit.
nobody gives a frick
ff16 flopped
Sold more than Rebirth
>citation doesn't exist
Keep wishing for the impossible, homosexual.
both flopped moron
ffxv outsold both combined
You're halfway there. Rebirth sold the least
ff16 only shipped 3m
it sold less than 3m to consumers so only sold 2m something
ff7r rebirth only sold 2m something
ff16 and 7 rebirth are the lowest selling FF
Rebirth is dead last. Congratulations anon, you made it.
16 took 7 years to make and Rebirth took 3 to make. I wonder which needs more sales to turn a profit?
The one that spent more during development.
How does the DLC work? Do you have to play the whole game to play them or are they standalone campaigns? I borrowed a friend's PS5 to play the game so if it's standalone I'll probably pirate it or wait for a sale to play the DLC. If I have to play through the whole game again then I just won't bother, I liked the game but not enough to play through it a second time.
Just pick the save after you beat the game and it should start you right before you go to the Origin
Left out that I'm not borrowing his PS5 again, so I'd be waiting for the PC port, which is my main issue. I guess someone will likely upload a save file anyway.
The first DLC was near the endgame. I imagine this will be similar. You can just reload a save before reaching Ultima
>released 3 weeks ago
Shit, when is it actually coming out?
You can always notice when bazztek enters the thread. I pity his family.
HKmoron on suicide watch
Already bought it, gonna Replay it from the beginning when it comes out
No. I’m going to pirate it on pc, transfer my PS5 save over and play it there.
The least ambitious Final Fantasy...
...is FF5. But FF16 still wasn't good.
The game was shit, so no. I'm glad to be done with it.
I hope they make it harder. Even on FF mode, the game is not that challenging.
Isn't this the 2nd DLC? was the first free? are they planning on a 3rd DLC?
I assume Ultima dialogue means that this might change the ending.
Whens the pc release? I’m not renting and returning another PS5 for the dlc
I'll probably pirate on pc with all dlc unlocked
So this is not specifically XVI related, but are we ever going to get a decent video platform for video game trailers?
S-E in general seems to have the most fricked up process for trailers. All of them have crap bitrate relative to what Youtube supports, and a lot of them also frick up the colour encoding so it looks more washed out.
Have to ignore that XVI also has MOTION BLUR OUT THE ASS by default which doesn't help it in compressed video format.
Is this the final dlc for the game?
yes they dissolved the ff16 team because it flopped and scrapped any other dlc and sequel plans
Ah, the Forspoken special.
Well hopefully unlike that game they don't add a sequel hook to the DLC's ending which will never see a follow up.
No, the demo was terrible so I skipped the game. SE would have to pay me several tens of thousands to play the game.
Ultima is an extremely boring, unoriginal and unconvincing antagonist.
The story of liberation from the corrupting influence of superpowers (magic) and tyrannical demiurge-overlord has been used dozens of times already. XVI did not add any depth to this overused theme at all, reducing it to a reddit-tier power fantasy about the emancipation of humanity.
The bait and switch with this game was rough, they marketed it as a "political" game with kingdoms and nations fighting, only to drop that completely for another "Let us kill god" JRPG. Maherio should never write for a video game ever again, I knew the dude wasn't that good and people sang praises for him with Heavsward.
The good thing about Yoshi-p at the very least, is that he takes criticism seriously, so I would expect Emet-Selch tier in their next game.
is yoshi going to be working on a new IP or something now? thought he said this is the only time he'll want to make a mainline FF game
He really seems to be leaning into wanting to make a new FFT.
Square doesn't have another team to do a mainline title and they aren't going to put on ice for 7+ years for a risky new IP. Yoshida also lies a lot, or at least holds the truth. In an interview with some Yosip (?) from PlayStation, Yoshi-p said nothing was solidified, but I think he won't be directly involved. Takai as producer and Ishikawa as director is my guess.
So were the "fodder" enemies in FFXVI as tanky as they seemed in all the pre-release shit?
No, after the game released we found out that everything has comically low HP and it made me wish they included the hardest difficulty from the beginning. Most trash mobs died within a single cooldown ability
That I can live with, how about the bosses on first playthrough? Way I like my games is for trash mobs to feel like trash but the bosses to be actually challenging
>and it made me wish they included the hardest difficulty from the beginning
I was hoping this late PC port would have been an excuse to add a Dante Must Die equivalent difficulty setting. Shit dies quick, but so do you.
I’m honestly surprised how invested I am in seeing Clive live after that finale. Never gave a rat’s ass about muh ambiguous endings. But Clive really deserved a happy ending after all that shit he went through. It just makes more sense for the theme of the game to let him live.
It was pretty cool seeing Clive really climb the list of most popular ff protags that quickly, I remember seeing one where him and cloud were the vast majority.
I think the game focuses so much on him solo that it makes sense. And he's tortured a lot too through his life. People wanted to see him just get to go live with Jill and make babies, not some ambiguous
>you decide if he turns or not
>you decide if he writes the book or not
come the frick on
Is there a chance the ending changes after Rising Tide? What are we basing that off of?
Zero, I think. At most you will get new lines during the ultimalius fight
The fact that they were asked and dodged around the question. The fact that Koji Fox seemed unusually giddy when they moved away from said question. The fact that the DLC trailer itself showcased something happening to Clive during the Ultima confrontation. It does make sense. Clive is considered incomplete without Leviathan and now he's going into said fight with Leviathan which means he should be a complete vessel now.
They said Clive's fate might change if he had all the Eikons.
When it comes to PC
If they're changing the ending in any way I hope they also shed light on Joshua and DIon as well. Or are we just going to ignore Jote? And the quest with Harpocrates about the flower and Dion? I'm genuinely going to be buttmad if they just show Clive returning.
I think they really just want to move on. Otherwise Yoshida would not have publicly said no sequel or spinoffs from them. I'm guessing their next project is a new IP.
bro i didnt even complete the game why would i buy a dlc
jill will finally get more spotlight in the new DLC. I thought her mission was pretty good but other than her taking clives virginity there isnt much more character development
She had a whole girl power patriarchy arc bro
Where do people get this idea that Jill is boring?
She's like the perfect tradwife strong woman she just doesn't marvel girlboss
When the PC version comes out I'll replay it. Can't stand how shitty the PS5 version runs
>Are you going to play FF16's DLC?
Of course!
I'm going to replay it in new game+ for the final fantasy difficulty, how long would it me to reach the DLC starting point take if I skipped every cutscene?
25hr
You should rewatch those scenes though they are spectacular even the second time through.
kek I love how they reused the Odin CGI shot 1-1.
Like 10 or 15 hours if you’re skipping everything
So how much did the XIV crossover spoil of XVI information?
it covered the entire "accept the truth" scene without any prior context. I'd say XIV players got spoiled lole
I liek Final Fantasy
>unironically liking things
We don't do that here.
Should i buy Last Remnant? Is from the director of 16
Don't touch the Remastered version.
Why? is the one that is on sale on PS5
Most will be playing it since Rebirth flopped
>paying for an expansion when this content already should be in the barebobes base game
SE cultists everyone
FFXVI is a very large and complete game. You would know if you played it. The DLC is just gravy.
>complete
>RPG without rpg mechanics
>rushed ending
>complete
Stop categorizing evertyhing autistic frick. Is just a game, if you have fun, play it. If not, move on with your life
>the director promises rpg element
>doesn't deliver them
>AAAAAAA stop conplaining
What a pathetic fanbase, holy shit.
You are a grow ass man stop acting like a spoiled child
YoshiP is just a suit, he is just like any other, so stop being so annoying and move on
Funny how your fanbase justify this and in any random thread about random game, you are schizoposting about expansions, DLCs, false promises, devs and whatever. Fricking hypocrites.
Stop projecting. Just go to bed anon, tomorrow will be a better day
Stop slurping semen from Yoshida wiener for one second.
Projecting, again.. I never played a MMO and i never will. Don't even care about Yoshida, i just liked Final Fantasy, and 16 is a great game
Are you upset for us bro? That's so sweet
Don't give a frick about this hack.
>making Final Fantasy even better
>like when he said FF15 was his GOTY
Is this how normally you think you "win" discussions? Posting random shit and thinking this is some kind of mic drop?
So yoshitpiss is just a liar
FF16 DLC = literally the main story from Clives POV of how the PROTAGONIST got LEVIATHAN which is a main eikon that was completely omitted even though Ultimaals plan wouldve required Clive getting leviathan yet he never did so its a glaring plot hole in FF16s story
FF15 DLC = self contained side stories with seperate characters POV, the cancelled DLC were a non canon alternate timeline "what if" thing, not the main story at all.
>self contained side stories
There's literally blatant gaps in the story where your party members leave and come back, how is that in any way "self contained"
Don't argue with the Melbourne spaz, just ignore him.
He is probably the Zelinkcado, he was exposed in the rebirth thread
gladio leaving is not a hap in the story because we're following noctis not gladio
same for the other 2
its a parallel side story
clive getting leviathan and fighting omega is a massive story gap that is the main story of ff16 from clives POV that was left out
and it has no fricking party and people drop in and out of the story in ff16 constantly with no explanation
joshua entire 13 years is a story gap
clive slave for 13 years another story gap
cids entire backstory another story gap
dions too
none of which is ever explained
>one of your main party members leaving is not a story gap
the terminator 2 director praised that terminator that flopped
I see now why you are so mad
What does this even mean? Why are you deflecting so much?
It's amazing how the other two comments can't even justify this.
Sakaguchi is a shill. Remember the time he came to the FF15 stage?
Dude you need to do something with your life
lotta tendie shitposters tonight
Are we not allowed to enjoy and discuss Final Fantasy here?
This is not your safe space, schizo fanboy. Go to Reddit if you want a warm welcome.
Funny coming from tendies who also tried to ban dd2 and unicorn threads
Just ignore these threads moron, or go back to spam porn in fire emblem
So who would we trust with helming XVII?
Yoship. 16 was just too good and Nomura is doing part 3 and ff7-3
Matsuno.
Yoko Taro
Takatsugu Nakazawa
nobody from cbu3 should be allowed near FF ever again
>Takatsugu Nakazawa
What a hack. Kanemori, Takahashi, Abe, Kujiraoka, and Sato wipe the floor with his systems.
>10-2
Don't let him on another project lmfao
>Materia was blah
>Junction was a terrible implementation of Ito's questionable concept
>Sphere Grid was baaaaaaaaad
>ATB ver. 2 already existed in Chrono Trigger
Tell me you're joking
FF already had good combat, just not that
>9, Tactics, 12
>nobody from cbu3 should be allowed near FF ever again
no-one tell him about dawntrail
the dead on arrival xpac?
nope
he was on the game until it was feature locked which is when he left after that
everything he did on enemies is in the game
even the 2011 enemies all act identical and all of Noctis's broadsword and polearm actions from 2011 are still in the game
Nakazawa was combat lead not yuji
sato was also combat lead as well as on the vehicle system
plus oka from kh2 and Bayonetta 2 and MGR on xv bosses
ff7r and ff16 and kh3 are literally dumbed down for the masses
and versus 13 had no manual weapon switching, no directional inputs, no warpstrike or point warps, no airsteps, no armiger system, less weapon variety, it only had auto weapons which is for casuals
he was only level designer on 7r and rebirth
Nobody cares, Nintendo pajeet.
Says the pajeet
It isnt because there is no gap in the story
gladio leaves and we're still following noctis
it doesn't come to a standstill and only resumes once gladio comes back you idiot
at the end of ch6 gladio says he gotta go do something so noctis and the gang head to steyliff without him
noctis and co go to steyliff with aranea in ch7 then gladio returns at the very end
meanwhile ff16 clive kills joshua then doesn't see anyone for 13 years then it's revealed joshua was alive with no explanation
or any explanation for why anyone comes and goes through ff16s story or leaves clives side
>it's revealed joshua was alive with no explanation
stop making shit up moron
>it’s ok when XV does it
I see
Ok, Nintendopajeet
Like it or not, It is Natsuko Ishikawa.
She is responsible for the two best XIV expansions. Even her Dark Knight sidequest, when she was a noob writer, had overwhelming praise.
Right now she is missing from Dawntrail, so my only guess is she is working on FF17 as a creative director or something.
Even though Takai isn't in the same league as Square Legends, the dude had directorial positions before, and based on the interviews, he is pretty harsh and pragmatic when it comes to dealing with the young workers, so getting shit done kinda guy. That said, he and Yoshi-p were working on a Bloodborne-esque game, so maybe that is why.
They allocated all of the budget to the main storyline, and if you want to blame anyone it would be Kazutoyo Maehiro, the actual creative director. He chooses the shitty name, Clive, he wrote Ultima, he brought Joshua back to life for reasons who the frick knows why...and so much more.
That also would be Kazutoyo Maehiro. Yoshi-p made him add them, but at the same time, Yoshi-p pushed the DMC combat, summon slop battle...etc.
He's a visual effects person and then he also started proposing more and more mechanics. Kind of like early Nomura, but switch Saga Frontier/Legend of Mana for FF7/FF8, and The Last Remnant for KH1. He's not a Square Legend /yet/ but this new blood is important if FF wants to stay relevant. I propose more Mana devs make 17.
ew frick no
I never bought a "expansion pass" before. When i will be able to download the Rising Tide?
April 18th
Can anyone feel a single iota of Takai's influence on 16? Or did yoshi p just help his bro out with a job
Takai was the worst part of the project to be honest. The purple skies during the majority of the sidequests, the extremely amount of subpar content during the main quest. The man is terrible
He wanted horses and no moogle. Guys a tool in my opinion
>Takai
Literally who?
The games director
>New dlc
>5 hours threads
>probably 30 ips
>50% of them are square shills
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WHAT A FLOP
30 ips
Why can't I see the IPs? I don't doubt it's in the double digits.
Rent free, tendie
Can't wait for the full version of the awakening song. 16 had a better ost than Rebirth imo
Unrioncally the only reason I am waiting for the DLC lol. Though a bit of a cope out making Leviathan's theme.
I thought this was supposed to come to PC after 6 months. And they are mad this game flopped? Square Enix is filled with morons its a miracle they exist
>no party
>no dungeons
>no cities
>no elemental affinities
>no status effects
>less rpg stats than any ff ever
>no exploration
>no minigames
>no backstory for 90% of characters
>characters never talk about practically anything that occured offscreen, so it dilutes the story even moreso
>unexplained events constantly
>most events occur offscreen
>cut content with party and leviathan and environments
>stuff just happens for no reason like the events were taped toghther with ductape
>no day night cycle
>no dynamic real time lighting
>no dynamic clouds
>no volumetrics
>no dynamic weather system
>no "party" interaction
>no weapon switching
>no manual finishers
>no directional inputs
>cannot jump on anything in environment
>chocobos cannot swim
>no environmental interaction
>no pilotable vehicles
>720p on PS5, not even XV hits that low on PS4
xv mogs xvi so hard
Predicted PC specs? I hope my mid-tier machine can play it.
FF16 resembles Versus 13 in many ways even if Nomura himself isn't working on it, a mix of Ivalice and KH in the most ambitious and best Final Fantasy game ever made. Truly the Versus 13 fantasy made reality. Stellagay wins again.
>A political intrigue/social commentary plot like Tactics
>References to Vagrant Story like the Blood Sin
>Modern but less scifi FF since 12
>Visual grandeur under art director Hiroshi Minagawa
>Event direction and Heavensward-tier story by Kazutoyo Maehiro himself and other FF12/TLR writing staff like in Versus
>Lots of battle options like in SaGa games
>Overall direction by Hiroshi Takai, one of two developers blessed by Mana, Chocobo creator, FF1 graphic co-director and FF11 director Koichi Ishii as one of two heirs of Final Fantasy
>Action combat and DLC direction by Tokyo Team battle designer Takeo Kujiraoka once led by KH creator Tetsuya Nomura (another dev blessed by Koichi Ishii as heir to Final Fantasy) and Ryota Suzuki (and more) of Devil May Cry
>Visual effect splendor directed by Versus 13 VFX director Shuichi Sato
>Speaking of Tokyo Team, the design of Stella Nox Fleuret was repurposed specifically for this game
>Perhaps what might be the Nitroplus Final Fantasy only this time there is no director removal/retool and we're getting the game
>Main character is royalty on a revenge mission
>Clive's father being based just like Noctis father was supposed to be
>The rival blonde guy is Dion/Joshua here
>The love interest is the sword lady and a central figure to the protagonist
>Countries have their own crystals and each one has a summon representing them
>A dog
>Cid has a very similar vibe to 2013 trailer Cor
>Warping around during combat
>Not afraid to be a bit more mature in terms of using blood or killing off characters which was something shown in Versus trailers too
>because in 16 the crystals stand in for oil, this is a fantasy based on reality
K I N O
I
N
O
Stellagay? Who now?
You really don't know?
>Tokyo Team battle designer Takeo Kujiraoka
He also worked on all three Dissidia games, except for Opera Omnia which also had a Versus dev apart from Nomura
>Tokyo Team
This is redundant, at least I know that CBU1 and 3 are in Tokyo.
Fricking idiot
You triggered her.
>Tokyo Team
PLEASE GIVE CLIVE COMBO MODIFIERS
I wonder what they'll show us...
How hard is this fight going to shit on pic related?
xv shits on xvi by having an actual kaiju sized boss
any giant boss in xvi is tiny compared to xv giants
this demo is so good and I'll never ever ever forgive idiot fans for ruining XV by shitting on it
I thought the battle director dude for the demo left or something.
the battle director is the same in the final game
>KH2/Versus XIII/2012-XV battle director Yuichi Kanemori
He was removed like Nomura. Tabata fired him wanted a battle system feature on instant gratification and then he got Kenichiro 'Killsight' Yuji to replace him.
But shockingly the normalgays Wada/Matsuda were desperate to target liked the dumbed down combat, which is how 15 sold 10 million.
>Killsight'
You mean Kenichiro "Instawin" Yuji because that's just Type-0
I want a dlc with Dion
Probably on sale but interested, though that depends if I can give a shit to swap for another PS5 controller before then. The drift issues on these controllers are insane, I've never had any problems with controllers but these only last a year.
Looking forward to it, but I've grown so used to my cheese build that I doubt I'll get much use out of the ranged Leviathan abilities.
Shiva: Rift Slip + Diamond Dust
Garuda: Impulse + Lightning Rod
Odin: Dancing Steel + Gigaflare
Oh yeah is Rime good? I heard it's like Magnet. Is there anything like Reflect?
Rime is one of the best abilities for trash mob fights.
No Reflect but Heatwave functions as a parry + counter against ranged attacks.
Nta but we get also get something like KH1 aero too in Will of the Whykes
I prefer Impulse. Will o' the Wykes is technically better if you can perfectly position the enemy with Lightning Rod but sometimes that fails, lining Lightning Rod up with Dancing Steel and Gigaflare is janky enough already.
How much of the abilities/skills are taken from KH1/2? and how much from DMC
Clive gets Stinger and Helm Splitter, and a bunch of Nero arm stuff.
I don't use any of these. Is rift slip even worth?
Rift Slip is the best ability in the game. No competition. It allows you to cancel out of any other animation and slows down time allowing you to set up the cheese combos that melt bosses like Wykes + Lightning Rod + Dancing Steel + Gigaflare.
I got bored of wykes, lightning rod and gigaflare even though they're OP, so I switched them out and keep switching things around. Feels a lot more fresh and having more fun tbh.
Yeah I like using titans counter from time to time just because the hitstop and screen shake make me fricking diamonds.
And don't forget the level 5 zantetsuken at the end for maximum cool
They are so cute
Cute and canon. One true love.
I hate newbies so much I swear
>entire thread of b***hing about game
>entire thread of literal cuck homosexuals just waiting to buy another
>corpos takes a massive open faced shit in their mouth
>another thread of b***hing, but buying, and eating shit all over
Unless the DLC has a lot more Dion and Joshua and a lot less of all the other chucklefricks, no. XVI has the most boring, one-note cast I’ve seen in any major videogame in years.
>XVI has the most boring, one-note cast I’ve seen in any major videogame in years.
>Dion and Joshua
homie you what.
Dion is the only one who has an actual arc and personal conflict with real stakes, while Joshua gets bonus points for being able to say more than muh bearers and muh Clive.
only if there is a shota sex scene
I'm calling it: the DLC's plot is going to be based on Those Who Walk Away From Omelas.
I want Clive to rape me
When is it dropping?
midnight tomorrow
I want Clive to rape me
Meet Shula
I hate her design, clearly made so pedotera shuts the frick up
No. FF16 was mid as frick.
A message from Jack

Jack, why are your eyes purple?
You want the truth, anon? It's complicated.
Just played it yesterday in preparation for therising tide, and frick me i am so out of tune.
Warmed up with the final chronolith trials on FF dificulty and got butt blasted.
Never experienced this with any action game before, i coud start up any Monster Hunter and woud still rip shit, coud probaly still perfect Monsoon in MGRR on Revengence too.
But for some reason my 5 months break from the game erased all my skill and knowledge.
Gonna try out Echoes of the fallen DLC later, i hope i can make it without retrys....
I didnt remember FF Mode to be this hard.
That's the power of KH2 x SaGa. Filtered, but you will reach the skill ceiling one day.
>Filtered
I already beat FF16 on FF, beat some Arcade Mode Missions on Ultimaniac, i just took a long ass break.
By the way, did they erase the high scores from arcade mode stuff?
My S Ranks for the Final Fantasy Mode arcade missions are gone for some reason.
Normal Mode was undertuned too tho.
But youre right, FF Mode shouldnt be played from the get go.
Yeah there’s a new leaderboard for the last update but you should still be able to go back and view the ones for previous versions.
yeah I don't think FF mode should be played from the get go but the sentiment of making normal harder still applies.
honestly a score for normal and ff mode would probably fix a lot of the issues people have because it'd incentivize the people who care about that to play better and maybe discover fun things about the combat system while the people that don't care can just continue to ultimate spam or whatever
It's one of those games that need to click but once they click they become easy.
Going into FF/Ultimaniac mode after a break just makes you realize that those modes from the start were just not an option and that going through the game on normal first was needed or a shitload of people would have gotten filtered by the difficulty.
>or a shitload of people would have gotten filtered by the difficulty.
Never underestimate combat system gays. I used to talk to this one guy who insisted on playing every FF games to analyze their combat. Big ADB fan I think (really he was a Matsuno autist), until he played TWEWY and right off the bat did KH1 on Proud right down to buffing Rod and debuffing Sword. He even played the 13 games a while after just to see how the battle system worked. Sometimes I wonder what happened to him
>buffing Rod and debuffing Sword
>Matsuno autist
>TWEWY
Lol why do I know who this
Nta but He did nothing wrong.
>he doesnt know
Sounds like some nolifer, even I wouldn't go near XIII
>he's triggered and started spamming
Well, it was a fun thread while it lasted.
Should I do it?
Zelinkgay probably abandoned the other thread already
how many more hours till the DLC is released
Midnight release for each region.
Is there literally anyone more moronic than Barry
