The OP is moronic. The fact that there are only 15 people left for whatever troony game he is mentioning is effectively stating that everyone else was already filtered only leaving the most dedicated autists playing that specific game to actually try and reach new highs.
Anyway most people on this board share a strong hatred towards competitive players, so it's not the right place for such a topic to be discussed. The problem is that they're not doing cool stuff. They're trying to figure out ways to break the game or get the opponent to not be able to play at all.
Fighting games being a comfy entertainment hobby is precisely why tryhards should always be made fun of. Something like learning an instrument is understandable to want to get good at and no one is going to feel the same way towards that as a mind-numbing video game.
Tryhards need to be gatekept. They are always the reason fighting games die.

RTS are a PC genre and most black people couldn't afford PCs. Meanwhile fighting games were the premier arcade game. Japs are the same, PC was an incredibly niche platform, but arcades were popular, thus barely any Japs play RTS games. Meanwhile Korea had a prominent PC scene and have a lot of top level SC/SC2 players

It's simple really. Fighting games are dead and the prestige and skill level between sf6 and the jojoban lobby on fightcade is basically zero. I dropped fighting games for counterstrike because I'd rather play a good popular game than the most popular barely alive fotm garbage amongst a sea of shit. I can't imagine playing fighting games any more and if i made the concession that id rather play a less popular genre might as well play the actual good games on fightcade.
I play games to have fun, that's why the only fighting games I play are HFTF and ASBR
