With the current Hitbox, Pad discourse we can all agree that Stick is the only choice that shouldn't be banned.
I used to be a fierce defender of Hitbox, but these days I hold the thought they should be banner alongside controllers. Having a standard type of device (in this case stick) is the best way to ensure fairness and seriousness. You don't play basketball with different kinds of balls, you don't play baseball with different types of bats, so why should you be allowed to play fighting games with different types of controllers.
With that being said, what's your favorite stick or what's the best one currently?

Only morons play with stick. Arcades are dead and 95% of the playerbase play with pads. Stick your stick up your ass, boomer.
>T: never afforded a stick
whole discussion is moronic, just like Armenian Hagrid. if you game can't handle hitbox without it causing cheating 2-cardinal inputs, play a game that isn't old and fricking busted.
if you play some old ass MAME emulation game then feel free to ban anything but arcade sticks it was designed for, thats fine, but nobody plays it anyway and no new players ever will.
if you play anything modern then shut the frick up and stop crying. pad is the standard, and hitbox is just an improved evolution of stick. adapt or die.
i play a stick but this is absolutely true. all fighting games today are absolutely designed for pad, as they should be. asking people to buy a 200$ arcade device to start playing as dumb as shit. i just use it because i am a boomer + the tactile nature of slapping arcade buttons is FUN.
>Arcades are dead
Except in Nipland. Those jokers still go to those local arcade malls and use those toy vending machines that are obviously rigged.
>t. has clearly never been to a nipcade
Sad
>rigged
Asian UFO catchers and the like are the fairest arcade games out there. Employees will literally rearrange the prizes for you if asked to make sure you get the specific one you want and then it’s just a skill game. Just because you’re used to American carnie antics bending you over a barrel doesn’t mean the rest of the world is like that
Only morons play with physical inputs. Buttons are dead and hardcore people use direct neural input links. Stick your “le manual input device” and your fricking brain-to-hand nerve-lag up your ass, zoomerboomer.
My favorite controller is the HORI fighting commander 2
> Stick is the only choice that shouldn't be banned
i agree. Im not a fan of pads since i dont get shit on them and i think pads shouldnt be banned. but i hate hitboxes since it makes so much shit easier and everyone who uses one should be executed on side.
My current (and first, since i dont count the MadCatz Alpha) is the HORI Rap 4 Kai, which i gave a custom sticker artwork. The thought of ripping the old one off and put a thicker plexi on the top of it, made me nervous
Beautiful stick
thank you
Stop trying to ban shit and be a man. This "community" has become too sissified
>has become too sissified
I blame consoles.
Recently bought an obsidian and while it's hard to get used to it, it just feels great playing games on it, specially beat em ups.
ahem
>fundamentals
>plays sim and tag fighters
He is right though
I just play on my keyboard
i think we should draw the line at the crossup while we still can
adding extra duplicate functions all over a controller strictly for the purposes of circumventing execution barriers is dumb
based fellow RAP4N enjoyer
Do you guys really think that Hitbox is the most optimal controller for fighting games?
I feel like it's kinda average depending on the game. For example, it's not that good for Mortal Kombat and DBFZ which are better on Pad.
Depends more on the type of character you're playing as than the game itself. Hitboxes are great for charge characters, for example, but they're not very intuitive to use when you're playing as a grappler, though it shouldn't be. Many games count 6248 as a 360
i think the only major issue is having what's essentially a dash macro in games where that's not an option for other inputs. and obviously crossup for the extra input options
imagine bringing this to a tournament, this is so epic
>imagine
I'd kneel but I'm laughing to hard
Imo the game designers shoud design the games while being aware of controllers such as hitbox, all controllers should be valid and everyone should blame the developers.
You want other people to take your competitive scene seriously? Use a standardized input method. Until that day comes, you are no different from the Meleegays that mod their controllers.
What's a videogame competitive scene that people take seriously?
Do they all use the exact same keyboards and mice?
Don't the meleegays all try to use a specific factory controller that has a specific quirk about it?
>keyboards and mice
This is the standard. You don't see pro FPS players bringing trackballs or Wii controllers to their tournos.
>This is the standard
it's only a standard if every mouse and keyboard setup is the same, otherwise people have different preferences that makes the hardware different to each other
And the reason there are different controllers for fighting games is because there are many different characters that require different input styles from each other. There's a depth to it that shooters simply cannot match.
>there are many different characters that require different input styles from each other.
Maybe they should Git Gud. They are representing what is the pinnacle of the playerbase. No excuses.
>Maybe they should Git Gud
>No excuses
that's exactly what they're doing though, you're giving them excuses to make
remember when counterstrike gays could sneak in cheats on the mouse onboard memory
esports is a mistake, once there is big money in the mix, the actual game stops mattering and people just do everything to win
Do they all use the exact same keyboards and mice?
Yes you dumb ape. They use the
on-site equipment.
So it's the exact same make and model in every tournament? Which ones are they and why aren't they they only gaming KB+M available on the market?
It depends, usually on the sponsor. Where do you think all that money comes from?
So it's not a standard, thanks.
>impossible to get a sanwa for around $50
you mean a JLF lever? yeah i've been looking to replace mine for months but they're twice the price they should be everywhere online
want to mod a decent case on the cheap. any recommendations?
The stick you posted but with sanwa buttons.
so this one?
mine is like that but with all black buttons and lever
nice. I sold my Obsidian bc I just like my 4N with sanwa parts better
I tried the lever on an obsidian and it was way too sensitive, so I prefer the hayabusa lever.
what's with the sudden shift to korean
they feel better.
That's a really cool stick, is it custom made or any way to buy it?
>we can all agree that Stick is the only choice that shouldn't be banned.
No, if you're going to ban everything but one controller type, that should be the one that comes with the console and that's the standard for most games.
Then ban everything except for the dualsense, holy shit. Playstation is already the tournament standard. The FGC are a bunch of crybabies.
>The FGC are a bunch of crybabies
you're the one crying about controllers right now
>dualsense d-pad
what you homosexuals keep forgetting is that sticks themselves are different between themselves. Square, circle, octagon or no gate? What kind of lever? Optic? Cherry switches? What about macro buttons?
Serious question:
If this is such a contentious issue, why not simply organize divisions based on input device? Even for the same game?
Hell, that’s exactly what Motorsport does. Even though all motorsport competitors are all trying to accomplish the same thing, even on the exact same track, they’re divided into categories based on the equipment they’re using to do so.
good point anon
Because that's a logistical nightmare and leads to a lot of "His win was tainted" NBAhomosexualry.
It'd be pretty hard to close off a top 8 that only has stickgays.
Because that's dumb and would piss off everyone
The control method doesn't give you an advantage because anyone can use anything that conforms to the basic rules tournaments lay out. Think a certain method is "cheating"? You're free to use it as well if it abides by the rules. And if it really were "cheating" then everyone would be shifting over to it.
>that's dumb and would piss off everyone
These daily threads seem to indicate that it’s already pissing off everyone. If there’s two groups of homosexual kids in a sandbox each crying about how the other group is playing in it, the simplest solution is two sandboxes.
>two groups of homosexual kids
there's only one group of those and it's anyone who cries about controllers when they're currently free to use whatever they want within reason
if hotbox is not cheating, then AHK and button macros should be allowed. don't cry over 1 button supers if the software allows the input.
Macros are gay unless it is for impossible inputs. Like seriously every Capcom game is mostly four easy inputs
>Macros are gay unless it is for impossible inputs
>brings up Capcom
Mahvel literally has a dash macro for easier wavedashes
pretty sure nearly all tournaments have rules against that
the standard seems to be only 8 buttons and they can only be button combinations without directional inputs
I can't move as good with stick than with a pad but it's so much more fun to use
kneel
>buy a stick and parts for silent button mod
>its still loud as frick
>thud thud thud
unusable
what do you live with a woman or something lmao
yes.
grow up
i mean tbh anon i wish i could and i was obviously just jealous. enjoy your companion in life, i will just mash my stick loudly into the abyss, that's life i guess hahaha
It's a mechanical device, anon. If you want a silent stick then make one with only capacitive buttons
