To think when I was a child I associated this IP with Halo as a core IP of Microsoft's. How wrong I was. This shit even had a TV show too which was the crazy part
I spent a good couple of nights trying to get into TiP on my Series S last week, I even lubed up with an entire replay of Nuts & Bolts and I still couldn't get into this. I'm afraid I missed the boat on these games because the loop of constantly rotating piñatas into your garden and stuffing it with features to attract the next ones just doesn't appeal to me; I felt expected to ship these guys out ASAP rather than keep favorites around for a while and to slap shit into my garden rather than be rewarded for placing things with purpose. Plus the tutorial seemed to go on quite literally forever with character introductions and micro cutscenes. And I really, really wanted to enjoy this after watching it float by as a kid. Is there some magic I didn't tap into or is this game just driven bapathetic? aesthetic?
you're treating a sandbox life sim like a checklist
just do whatever you find enjoyable instead of trying to maximise efficiency.
i barely shipped out any pinatas and it was great fun, just for chilling out with.
Thanks for not just calling me a moron anon, I'll try it again before writing it off for a long time. I might have been stressed or something because I don't usually rush objectives in games
Really surprised they haven't even at least ported TiP to PC. The market for pet sims is so hot right now and VP is pretty well known among fans of the genre. They could easily make a shit ton of money with a half assed pc port.
>can't play 2 on pc >pain in the ass to get 1 working correctly >have to use an emulator to get the sequel playable on pc
Man can microsoft just do the world a huge favor and port a shit ton of there older og xbox/360 games to pc please?
I don't really care if they frick up the graphics or some shit they always do when they port there garbage.
I just want to play viva pinata on modern hardware again.
If you've got some cash to spare, it along with everything else on Rare Replay plays very well on the Series S. It's also a good way to experience Sonic Unleashed and [whatever Lego Star Wars game's on sale this week] on a modern console.
>get another box to play games
I don't even have space for that shit tbh, and I do not play on consoles anymore man, but thanks for the heads up.
Also where the frick is rare replay? Like seriously dude what reason is it not on pc yet?
Then buy it through the ms store?

I loved how certain species required tricks to get, but the chocodile was my favorite.
>Dude, if you smash a bouncing Syrupent's egg at the right time you get a two headed snake! >And then if you smash the resulting Twingersnap's eggs at the right time you get a four headed snake!
Some Pokemon RBY glitch levels of unbelievable bullshit, but it actually works.
Supposedly fairly well. Just a couple sound desyncs when starting and a slight problem with the shops displaying the wrong items if you swap through the menus too fast.
But you need some specific settings for it, go check the compatibility thread for the game before trying it.
The fact that Microsoft hasn’t even considered a new VP game is a testament to how out of touch they are with what they have available. Imagine owning a treasure trove of Rare IPs and only consistently shitting out awful Perfect Dark games. I’ve replayed VP and TiP so many times.. I just want a new one…
>Only consistantly shitting out Perfect Dark games
There has only been 2 Perfect Dark games ever, what the frick are you talking about? That's like accusing them of pumping out Banjo Kazooie games
Mothdrops, Flutterscotches(Especially Blue ones), Whirlms, and Arocknids are some of my favorites, but the one I like the most? The sweet little Newtgat. They're adorable. When I was younger I was able to mimic the sound they made to a T.
*stuck on games for windows live*
what if I told you that the updated version of this game is stuck on the 360
then I would believe it
it sucks we can't have viva pinata threads on Ganker since the majority of Ganker doesn't even play games.
for me? it's the plain ol' sparrowmint.
I have a banjo-kazooie N&B dual pack with Viva Pinata, should I boot up the 360 and give it a try?
Why not? It's spinoff / sequel trouble in paradise is much better though in my humble opinion; i recommend just playing/buying/emulating that.
>no 3rd entry ever
FUUUCK
there's a DS game, lol
You say that like it's a bad thing. The DS game was still pretty fun. But it was just a scaled down port of the first game.
To think when I was a child I associated this IP with Halo as a core IP of Microsoft's. How wrong I was. This shit even had a TV show too which was the crazy part
Microsoft pumped an ungodly amount of cash into VP, it very well could have been.
Making it an xbox exclusive doomed it from the start.
Not exactly xbox exclusive since it had a DS spinoff, which is unusually good.
I always forget about that one, actually worth a play?
Game is boring mid af goyslop. Miss me with it.

at the end of the day it might simply not be for you and that's perfectly fine.
i do hope it clicks for you though 🙂
Nah it's forced fun

For me, it's the Rashberry, I love these goofy morons
TROUBLE IN PARADISE ON PC WHEN FRICKING MICROSHIT I SWEAR TO FRICKING CHRIST FRICK YOU
>the rare collection came out like 3 months before microsoft started porting all xbone games to pc
i'm so FRICKING MAD

Uhnuh.
I considered getting an Xbox One 1 just to play some rare replay. there's a dual pack with gears of war remaster
you can play it on PC you moron. it's on game pass

No thanks.

How much is it? Specifically TiP.
>chocodile
It's a cocoadile.
Did you seriously suggest I do cloud gaming to play viva pinata?
>Get a fly
>Set it on fire then put it out
>Get a firefly
Some of the transformations in this game were hilarious.
>how to break the game's economy
I regret nothing
>poison frog with nightshade berries
>beat him with a shovel
>get a purple frog
I want my lower intestine to be filled with confetti from a pinata that pulls my hair!
fo(u)r me its the fourheads
alternatively the jameleon
>Dude, if you smash a bouncing Syrupent's egg at the right time you get a two headed snake!
>And then if you smash the resulting Twingersnap's eggs at the right time you get a four headed snake!
Some Pokemon RBY glitch levels of unbelievable bullshit, but it actually works.
If playstation is the bloodborne machine then the xbox is the viva pinata machine
For me, it's Whirlm 1. My first resident lives like a king, with me as his loyal knight warding off Sparrowmints 24/7.
How well does that run on Xenia
Supposedly fairly well. Just a couple sound desyncs when starting and a slight problem with the shops displaying the wrong items if you swap through the menus too fast.

literally just vibing: the pinata

Imagine owning a treasure trove of Rare IPs and only consistently shitting out awful Perfect Dark games. I’ve replayed VP and TiP so many times.. I just want a new one…
>consistently shitting out awful Perfect Dark games
what reality do you live in
nta but PDZ and you're kidding yourself if you think the recently announced one will be any good
>Only consistantly shitting out Perfect Dark games
There has only been 2 Perfect Dark games ever, what the frick are you talking about? That's like accusing them of pumping out Banjo Kazooie games
>some brave souls are making a fanmade VP3
god i hope this goes somewhere
a tall order to say the least but it looks surprisingly authentic

*AHEM*
FRICK ruffians and FRICK pester
In hindsight I appreciate that they exist. The game would get tedious if they weren't around to make you deal with the problems they cause
always use hires versions of cover arts, kids
sovl
FRICK THE ETERNAL ANGLO FOR KEEPING THIS SHIT ON 360
