youre still pretty much doing the same thing, retroarch just combines everything into one.
if youre only emulating like 1 or 2 systems, then yeah, retro arch will seem pretty pointless.
So am I right in saying Retroarch is simply a UI that shows off all your emulators? Seems kind of pointless when I have shit like pcsx2 that needs calibrating every 5 seconds. I mean it sounds cool in concept but I don't care about having everything clumped together I just launch whatever emulator I want in a folder.
>Retroarch >~500 MB used before a single emulator is downloaded.
It's probably worth it for the Shaders alone, but maybe ReShade filter ports are good enough.
I like the universal input setup, shaders, run ahead, online updater (needs an option to update the frontend itself), integer scaling for everything, core, game and even directory preset settings and universal hotkeys for emulator features (fast forward, frame skip, save state, etc).
I only use their playlist feature for an arcade romset and for some reason the desktop menu is abandoned.
You should check out mednafen with medgui reborn/mednaffe or duckstation for ps1 standalone emulation btw. mgba is pretty good too.
You need a lot more explaining than just telling you why you should use Retroarch

I only play Gran Turismo and THPS1/2. What's a better alternative? I rarely even play PS1 since I can't stand the shimmering/AA process they used. I prefer Dreamcast if anything else.
It's nice to have all of your stuff in one place, specially with the Steam version because thanks to cloud support I don't have to reconfigure everything on a new PC.
Some emulators dont recognize my controller for some reason, or I have to frick around with DS4Windows or CE360 or whatever its called. Zero hassle with retroarch (for me).
Hello I am a brainlet. I use Virtual Boy Advance, NEStopia, Kega Fusion, Snes9x ect. instead of having everything in one big universal emulator. Ask me anything.
>muh ui
literally made for old crap
i bet you like to pretend you're some special software archeologist discovering dinosaur remains in forgotten archives
and making fun of stuff that's too advanced for you or you cant have
Why would I use retroarch over using individual emulators for each console? Genuine question not baiting.

No.
So explain to me what the advantage of using Retroarch is when I can easily just launch my emulators like this?
No.
Figure it out for yourself.
Lmao so you're saying there is 0 (Zero) reasons to use Retroarch? What is the point of it then?

No it isn't.
No one else respond to this homosexual. He can google it if it's a "genuine question".
>Asking for opinions on a forum
>Just Google it!
Anon, are you autistic?
Because it's extremely convenient and some of the best emulator cores are easily usable through Retroarch.
It's nice to have all of your stuff in one place, specially with the Steam version because thanks to cloud support I don't have to reconfigure everything on a new PC.
>It's nice to have all of your stuff in one place
it’s called an Operation System

a shitload more features, and standardized options for savestates and others.
personally I love that you can rollback a savestate.
>a shitload more features
Wrong
>runs like absolute shit no matter what you console you're emulating
filtered
>GUI
Cringe
>using consoleshit UIs on a PC
oh my god is that A SERIES OF OPTIONS TO CONFIGURE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I'M GOING INSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNEEEEE
?
but RA is the brainlet filter kek
Based
Imagine being around for years and still not being to create a single good UI.
WHAT THE FRICK IS A CORE
WHAT THE FRICK IS A RETROPAD
WHY CAN'T I JUST CLICK LOAD ROM LIKE ZSNES 1.36???!!!!!!!
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>ZSNES
kys byuu
My favorite part of the retropad is that it makes it impossible to configure some inputs because they conflict with the inputs of other consoles
incredible design work
...my being the choice of brainlets, you mean?
Why does it have the worst UI of any software in existence?
Hello I am a brainlet. I use Virtual Boy Advance, NEStopia, Kega Fusion, Snes9x ect. instead of having everything in one big universal emulator. Ask me anything.
Does these pants make me look fat?
>one big universal emulator
with a terrible UI and missing features
Would it be possible to use this on the Steam Deck out of the box? I'm a brainlet with this stuff
Yes
>no switch emulator core
>no xbox emulator core
>no ps4 emulator core
>no psp emulator core
literally what is the fricking point then
