zoomers love retroarch you fricking moron
    it's boomers who hate it

tbh it's probably the awkward in-between crowd that actually uses RetroArch. Zoomers are too moronic to use anything that doesn't look like a smart phone, and boomers still use zsnes

One time I downloaded this pre-set up Retroarch with almost every single Castlevania title all set and ready to go. That was pretty cool.

If you don't use individual emulators for each system then you don't know SHIT about vidya

Are we really championing the "figure it out ez" frontend that's on every single Chinese emulation handheld as a great tard filter?

Retroarch shits itself whenever you use a dual-analog controller with 6 face buttons.

It's also bad at handling multimonitors with different resolutions.

      >dual analogue with 6 face buttons
      what monster controller is this?

Saitek p990, iBuffalo, Logitech Wingman, Interact Hammerhead, Flydigi Vader 2. They all have problems such as mushy buttons or a bad D-Pad.

Saitek p990 doesn't have mushy buttons but the D-Pad feels cheap, the sticks are PS2-era melting rubber and there's no central buttons for start/select. I usually map the start button to FPS on the top, but mapping more than the usual 12 buttons doesn't go well with retroarch, so I end up mapping Start to R3.

iBuffalo(particularly the BSGP1601BK model) was on Amazon, but the main problems was that the buttons were mushy.

Flydigi's the latest that I haven't tried yet. I'm still waiting on Retrobit to release their dual-analog Saturn controller, but it's been 4-5 years.

Who the frick uses something like that?

can't you just map buttons 5 and 6 to RetroPad L1 and R1 or something?
or is the problem that the controller has more buttons than RetroArch can support?

Getting better, lower input lag than OG hardware makes my dick hard. Not even the official shit on steam like Genesis Mega Drive Classics collection or the Castlevania Anniversity do it. You are paying for a worse experience when you emulate using their shit.

ive been using retroarch on steam, and i love the process of setting up cores, troubleshooting, and organizing my playlists.
the standalone is pretty much flat-out superior, but i unironically prefer having to jump through the hoops of the steam version.
i also havent paid for games in months and ive been playing more vidya overall

i still don't understand how someone can get filtered by a fricking ps3 menu, some people are beyond moronic

It's just unpleasant to use. It doesn't work well for M+KB if you're playing on PC. Yeah, you're going to be playing games with a controller, but M+KB is still better for that kind of stuff. It also doesn't seem like the best kind of interface for when you have a lot of options, if it's just a few things to go through it's fine but when you're going through dozens of lines it's a hindrance.

        >M+KB is still better for that kind of stuff
are you playing console games on a keyboard? lol LMAO even

That's not what I said. I said you can be playing the games with a controller, but M+KB is still better for extensive menu usage. Controllers aren't designed for that.

PS2 core sucks ass, psx cores have speed/aspect ratio issues, but most psx emulators do on their own too. I use it begrudgingly for shaders, but why aren't these issues resolved after decades with hardware that's 1000x more powerful

Well the PS2 core sucks ass because the only thing to build it from is PCSX2 which is fricking mess on its own too. In general you should only use RA for 5th gen or earlier

The only good thing retroarch has ever done was that you could easily play PS1 titles on your 3DS.

I use it. It's cool and convenient to have the majority of my retro titles on one client. I do however use separate emulators for systems that Retroarch does a shit job with like 3DS

DS for most content + dualscreen is very comfy if you get the screens set up right. I also heard it has a slightly better translation but I cannot testify to this

It's dogshit. Just use different emulators.

the interface is kinda meh, but overall it's good at what it's supposed to do for the most part. Some of the cores aren't up to snuff though like melonds not having online or any of the non-handheld gen6+ stuff
