The Zack thing was so underwhelming given how big they made it seem at the end of Part 1. Remember Cloud becoming a hooded guy? Turned out to be nothing except what was shown in the trailer, to the point I expect it was its only purpose.
Same for the party being dead. And if Zack was indeed brought to the main timeline at the end of Rebirth it's even more pointless. I really don't see the point of showing the terrier timeline a bit more than the other doomed ones if it was going to amount to nothing in the end.
Missed opportunity of making it an actual what if scenario as a playable side story, kinda like Laguna's in 8. Could have been the Midgar chapter again except shorter (without the filler from Remake) as playable Zack and showing how the OG events would have played out if he had survived, up to the highway chase or something.

This is why I hate the FF7 remakes. Not because of their shallow, overly long combat or loss of gritty attitude when it comes to the world, but because its MASSIVE waste of potential. Events in the game come off as what would be simple for the developers to pull off. Not something that's drastically different or amazingly creative.
Refunded Rebirth after finishing and won't be buying 3. Minigame cancer and ubisoft towers ruined it for me, along with numerous negative plot changes. No wonder this game flopped.
