Aeris will be back early for part 3
Vincent is so cute, misunderstood and mysterious

Vincent deserved better
>got cucked

Very mysterious
Vincent looks so good
It's straight out of a Fromsoftware game.
The Jenova team is superb too.
Cait Sith was starting to feel like a slog before the Ying Yang boss fight. But Vincent whole sequence, both the cutscene and the boss fight was great, its one of my favorite parts. The OST is amazing
I will buy DoC remake if it looks this good
He kinda looks like Sephiroth
I just entered chapter 14, about how much is left until I can get back to the remaining side quests and mini games?
The final chapter? it's only the final boss gauntlet. When you complete the story, you are taken to the menu to save your completion and then you can do chapter pick and do the quests you want
nice, thanks
reddit fantasy 7: redditbirth
so is part 3 canceled?
No
maybe
Hopefully
Realistically, once part 3 is out, would it be possible to use all the assets to make a mod for the game that turns it into a faithful remake of the original complete with custom cutscenes?
The ghosts and slow walking parts aren't going anywhere. There are also plot and gameplay deviations, like most people in Sector 7 surviving or summoning sizes. Literally impossible.
inshallah
>get headache
>see this
What do
Cloud is so cute, I can see why every girl wants to rape him
Love how deranged he looks here
Holy shit, Cloud looks absolutely cursed with that smile.
Tifa's misery in the background makes his delusional smile even better.
Hugs her and never lets go
>Cloud, why are you hugging.. air?
He literally has a minute long conversation making jokes with aerith by the plane. She must be freaked out
i played dead space 2
i know where this is leading to
Make her whole?
Aeris gives me a headache yeah, makes sense
I'd get some Tylenol
She did though.
That's a mod
>He never came back to the Forgotten Capital with 99 Phoenix Down + Mastered Phoenix Materia
Original CGI is more soulful than remaded slop.
ok
I was thinking about getting Rebirth since it looks more silly and fun compared to Remake, but I've never played FFVII or Remake. I can't see myself sitting through Remake's Nomura-induced moronation or the 4 homies in a row combat with random encounters from hte original.
I played the original when I was a kid, skipped remake, and then bought rebirth and watched "the story so far" that they got in this game, and it worked for me
But if I don't know if I can recommend it as an entry point
I've played some other final fantasy games so I have a decent idea of the world, and I know the gist of what happens in 7, so maybe I'll do the same. Thanks anon
You can jump to Rebirth but you will be missing tons of stuff. Maybe you could watch the OG from Youtube before playing
reminder that Cloud created his own confluence of worlds by swinging sword because the black jannies infected it
>reminder that [headcanon]
>I will ignore all visual cues given to me
>I will ignore all headcanon
Yes
I thought they killed time jannies in the firts game! what was the point of that grandstanding about muh fate then?
Best boy and his girl
>his frustrations with his own failures
>the nature of his job as Shinra's laptop
>his helplessness at what's happening around him
>the nature of his own existence as a "monster"
Zack is thrown at his lowest but manages to catch himself from spiraling and gets his optimism back, with Cloud's help. This scene is peak.
It really is. Another CC scene I've really grown to appreciate over time is the "Is it good?" moment between Genesis and Zack. Genesis silently shaking his head no when Zack tries to clarify and his quiet resignation that this is the best they'll get hits hard. He's pretty much burying all the dreams and relationships he's ever had and Zack, although he's trying, can't truly understand the weight of it.
Why does Cissnei act like she's been in Gongaga for ages when the event that caused the BC Turks to runaway from Shinra happened 2 months before the start of FF7.
>implying she left the Turks
Unless they're gonna retcon BC yeah she did, they all disappear after the final boss dies and Tseng, Reno and Rude get left behind to almost be executed by Shinra before Rufus vouches for them and has them spared.
CC does a shit job of conveying the passage of time. The game itself takes place over 7 years. Its like a year between her going to Gongaga and meeting Zack's family and the events of rebirth
There's a 5 year time skip at the end of CC and she's been in Gongaga that entire time.
No, she sees Zack/Cloud when they're on the run from the military.
She has the most moronic outfit in the game
>This thread is only for those who have played or are in middle of playing FF7 Rebirth
lol. frick you
How do you compress videos this long?
That webm is in the VP9 codec, something Ganker only started supporting in the last year I think. The encoding is better and lets you make longer videos in the same file size. In ffmpeg you can use the libvpx-vp9 codec option but I'm not sure what tools the kids use to make webms nowadays.
Yeah I want to know too
fake aerith died the white materia is the key to all this
Why did Cloud even imagine he saved her? Just actual cope for a split second?
He didn't imagine. This is why you can't watch this shit in a vacuum.
>This is why you can't watch this shit in a vacuum.
Sadly most here have and it shows.
Nomura is a hack fraud
Yes he is but he didn't write or direct this game
no one understands what actually happened here. just like absolutely no one understands the plot to kingdom hearts and final fantasy XV. I hate this shit writing si much its unreal. I do like abstract stories and I dont feel as if everything needs to be spelled out to the audience but squareenix writing is just pure abysmal shiet
>I don't understand this so no one does!
Alright explain why and how she shows up with Cloud to fight Sephiroth and why Cloud tells her to wake up which she does only for us to realize she's actually dead through other party members dialogues
Because it's like in the marvel movies where everyone fight and clapped, it'xs heckin kino!!
>MUH-MUH-MARBLE!!!!1!!!
Yeah comics and anime are the same thing, good job.
If they ever remake FF9, I bet you’d be crying about muh Marvel during the You Are Not Alone scene.
>If they ever remake FF9
>If
lol
Unironically no one cares about FF9. The only FF games other than 7 that could get Remake treatment are 6 and 10.
>he doesn't know
Nobody gives a shit about 6 aside from a handful of terminally online boomers.
Red is not in denial over the fact that Aerith (their Aerith, at least) had just died.
F R A C T U R E D W O R L D
>i dont understand whats real and whats not in a game where the whole premise is to frick up the events in order for you to not know whats real and whats note
????????????
then whats the fricking point of the story? not like it has an overarching message of some sort. its just pure shit and none of it matters. so in the end its just a ubishits by the numbers game.
It has multiple messages. FF7 is not a game that just focuses on one thing.
What's the point of any fricking story you dope?
You sound like one of those homosexuals who complain about quests in MMOs because they have you go out and kill 10 boars, but the game doesn't give you any reason to want to go kill those boars. And then act like this revelation of yours is some massive gotcha moment.
The point of the story is to be a story. That's all the point it fricking needs to exist. What you take from it is up to interpretation and your own emotions and how you mentally respond to different stimuli and situations.
Okay but did Barry Win and can Cloud Crawl unlike Metroid? Post those WEBMs if you catch my drift.
why is sephiroth always so smug? how many levels of keikaku is he on?
I love her "sweet release of death" smile after getting stabbed
Man, this game is so huge. I've already invested 80 hours into and am still not done, but I am loving every minute of it.
I just had my wisdom teeth removed today. Those relaxing open-world areas are exactly what I need right now. 🙂
Get well soon anon and remember to gurgle warm saltwater help it heal! 🙂
Thank you for the kind words, anon. 🙂
doing that right away sounds like a good way to lose the bloodclots and get dry socket

It's a 50 hour game.
The game is huge. I am taking my time and have only reached chapter 10 so far.
I've played 60 hours and am in ch9
Dude these fricking sandfish/sandworms are making me want to throw my controller through the fricking TV. Who the frick designed these?
How do you even avoid getting eaten when it tracks a character?
You don't 🙂
dodge
Just dodge.
dodge into them
works for tifa and cloud but barrets dodge sucks ass
I was thinking of using Cloud then swapping to Aerith and using Bodyguard (?) to teleport him away.
>cloud didnt die
>tifa didnt die
>aerith dies
>they scale up the premise of the game by bringing a reunion of jenova across all the lifestream
>they even set up the premise of cloud becoming schizo and still seeing aerith, and even suggesting it might even be jenova itself pulling cloud strings
Kino
>You know that I killed her
>So who is she
Oooohhhhh
I think cloud is genuinely too schizo for that one to work. He’d start calling Sephiroth a liar instead
>Shinra Mansion basement
>Cait Sith falls into a hole
>1 hour later
>cloud: oh you’re back. Let’s keep going
I can’t take these moments in good faith. It’s just padding.
Cait had to prove he was useful before the betrayal. Seems like that should've happened in Corel.
I just put the game on easy and skipped all the quests and open world.
I'm replying remake and I have no idea why they thought a cutscene between 10 seconds of control was a good idea and a Great experience for the player. I'm playing chapter 12 and I can't Make aerith walk 2 seconds before I'm met with a cutscene..like I genuinely don't mind movie games or cutscenes since Yakuza 0 is one of my favorites but a cutscene shouldn't be done like that. Don't give me the illusion of control then hit me with a cutscene or forced slow walking, in Yakuza 0 you get the cutscene knowing you're walking to them and they are almost always a Good experience. I know the plate is falling stop showing me every helicopter and npc reaction
>Gi Nattak: the cetra genocided us
>Aerith: um not all cetra
Why is she like this?
>the whites slaved us
>uhm, not all whites sweetie
shes right shes not responsible for what her ancestors did
>shes right shes not responsible for what her ancestors did
Gi Nattak said so much as well.
>please bring me the black materia so i can destroy the planet and you'll all die
Why does Gi Nattak think Cloud and Co would ever do this?
Because the Gi are oppressed (tm) so whatever deranged and evil demands they make are right!
But the party only agrees because not doing so would end badly. They have no intention of following through.
Even Nanaki has a side quest after the fact where he has to promise some seperate Gi ghosts the same thing and the moment they leave he basically just says "Yeah they are NOT getting anything"
The Gi were cool but that entire section with Gi Nattak taking the boat and listening to his story were utterly pointless because obviously they aren't going to even entertain what he's asking
So I was washing my dishes when a thought came to me. Isn't the remake trilogy just Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann?
Nice blogpost
It's more like rebuild of eva
But think of the parallels. In TTGL, there's the idea of a failed timeline teased in the first scene of the show with a parallel reality Simon, and this is later turned into a plot point in the show's own reality in the form of Lordgenome giving up against the anti-spirals in the past. The main characters of the show set out to repeat Lordgenome's journey to hopefully different results with Lordgenome himself acting as this ominous antagonistic character who knows what will happen because he already lived through it once. Simon and Kamina are a lot like Cloud and Zack, Kamina has a similiar death that sends Simon into catatonic depression until he stops trying to be Kamina and steps out of his shadow to lead his group to victory. TTGL even has a whole sequence where the main characters are trapped in comforting parallel realities where nobody died and everyone lived happily ever after, but they reject it as cheap wish fulfillment and accept the losses they suffered along the way and stick to their own reality.
Like does this not remind you of the remake trilogy at all?
90 hours in, already in chapter 13. Maybe Im a little burned out of doing the relic stuff for Nibelheim and the last 2 of Corel before getting going into the Temple in 1 sitting, but Im just after Cloud, Barret and Tifa fight the Turks, and its starting to feel like its overstaying its welcome
Personally i never felt that because i prepared everyone at the same time so i never had to change materia at all
Ah, you are right. Im changing materia which makes it a slog, although around the dragon I realized I had everyone more or less well equipped so Im only changing the Magnify one and both "Fire and Ice" and "Wind and Lightning"
just try to cover the magic with the three. Cloud has like fire and wind, barret has only thunder, while tifa has ice and wind for example, something like that
Magic is more meant to be an opener more than to do damage, unlike aerith
having finished it the amount of bloat and production value on display is mindblowing, the most quality of models, effects, cutscenes (even a lot of minor quests have highest tier cutscenes), special effects and one off mini games that could be full games themselves, everything is voiced!! not only that there is so much missable voice acting from npcs that constantly changes, and so many of them. jesus christ square enix was schizophrenic with the budget on this game and even if you consider all recycled assets and systems its still nuts.
that is all to say. its hillarious this game ios blombing as hard as it is lmao
It really feels like a once in a life time project with the amount of money and effort they put into this.
>that is all to say. its hillarious this game ios blombing as hard as it is lmao
Where is this narrative coming from? The only numbers we've seen are physical copies out of Japan. And those numbers were actually really high for the market.
Am I the only one who enjoyed the fort condor mini games? Actually wished there had been a few more missions for it.
3d brawler and Gears and Gambits can suck my ass though
i liked all of them but they're all very easy to exploit
I've been bored out of my mind since entering gongaga
Now I'm in Cosmo Canyon and the game is putting me to sleep
Will the deepground homosexuals appear in the next part?
Yuffie vs Nero rematch is inevitable at this point.
i feel thats just setting up dirge.
There’s no way the return to Midgar segment won’t have it since Rebirth heavily teased it during Yuffie’s trial in the temple.
>since Rebirth [headcanon]
Because Nero taunting Yuffie about turning Sonon’s corpse into his plaything and telling her to come get him is totally not a blatant teaser for their confrontation in the next game or anything.
>Because [headcanon]
>team member just got killed in front of everyone
>start throwing around corny oneliners in the fight against Jenova
what did they mean by this
At least it’s not Cloud doing an overly melodramatic speech straight out of a bad anime english dub like in the original.
No we got dumb marvel slop tier voicelines, so much better!
Yes
They should patch the game to turn off the combat lines for that part of the game
Yuffie is trash in combat. So is Cait Sith, Red and Barrett.
They need to fix it in part 3 so Cloud/Tifa isn't just always the best team.
Vincent will mog everyone else in combat.
Aerith won't be a party member in Re3 and Cloud won't be fighting much so the new god squad will probably be Vincent, Tifa and Cid support.
Vincent transformations will turn him into a summon, I bet
>Vincent can't equip summon materia, only himself.
Makes sense
Hopefully Galian Beast isn't limited just to limit breaks and instead Vincents mechanic is like Reds where you take damage to fill a gauge that lets you transform and you actually control the beast with its own moveset and skills. Otherwise you'll just be standing and shooting all the time and he'll feel too much like Barrett
Also I hope they make Cid an engineer type unit who can create traps and turrets and shit instead of just having him poke things with a stick
But spears are inherently cool and underutilized in videogames. I'm fine with him doing a bunch of spear moves.
I'm fine with that i just hope his combat gimmick is deeper than only melee attacking since you already have multiple party members for that. Lean into his mechanical prowess too
>Yuffie
Easy access to long range elemental attacks, she can go from long to close range and viceversa swiftly, AoE attacks, Doppleganger and Windstorm are broken
>Cait Sith
Moogle basically adds another character to the party, the decoy abilities are useful and hit hard, Fortune Teller sends Black folk into the shadow realm, you can use summons early
>Red
Easy mode, just block and then retaliate while healing, holding square is good for pressure and moving
Builds ATB and Stagger like a mofo, best tank in the party, best character for flying enemies
Honestly, it seems like you dont know how to play, every character is good, if anything Aerith is the worst cause its the one that builds ATB slower, and even then its just a matter of taking an extra step, and she is the best mage in the game anyway
Aerith needs a ton of set up but when she can slam her wards she's moronic good and can generate atb easy
Put up her wards and give her synergy materia linked to a spell with a long casting time and she's basically invincible for the majority of fights
The "builds ATB and Stagger...." was for Barret, like I said, everyone is useful
>Yuffie is trash in combat.
Nonsense. Yuffie is the best allrounder. Kind of OP if you ask me.
>So is Cait Sith
Weird to play, but actually really strong. I prefer Tifa over Cait.
>Red
Good healer, but not fun to play and his reach is shit. Dude is literally a cat-like creature, he should obviously move faster on the battlefield.
>Barrett
Always a solid choice
Yuffie is way worse at being an all-rounder compared to Cloud
Yuffie literally has the best standard ranged attack in game.
Yuffies best trait is not needing to waste materia slots on basic spells so you can pump up her stats with purple materia
Barret is the second best combat character in the game and absolutely carries hard mode playthroughs with his 2-3 second cooldown Pray for 3500 healing and his ability to nearly instantly pressure/stagger every enemy in the game with Bonus Shot. + Overcharge.
>Barrett
>Pray
Sounds out of character and non-canon. Might try it for Hard Mode though.
nah its in character
barret is one of those black priests on tv that cures the blind
another very good party member for hard is aerith with mp absorb on fire/ice or wind/lightning materia, give her accesories that give her a full atb bar, open with arcane wars and just start blasting giga spells left and right without having to worry about mp
>They need to fix it in part 3 so Cloud/Tifa isn't just always the best team.

yuffie is a beast. I don't even know how tifa would be useful anymore when half the enemies have gimmick pressure requirements.
tifa with auto use unique ability is a damage god
there is a tifa build where you can beat brutal challenge 6 (3 times double summon bosses, then gilgamesh, then sephiroth) in less than 8 minutes
What's so good about the auto unique materia? I've been ignoring them.
for tifa specifically she uses unbridled strength when you are playing as other characters , this makes it so that whenever an boss gets staggered she gets the damage bar to 250%+ while eating like 25% of the boss bars hp while you can just focus on cloud dealing damage and building atb in the meantime
Wait so she uses rise and fall and omnistrike automatically when target is staggered? that's sick.

Any data from the relevant parts of the world, anon?
Grim.
this is a good thing. maybe going forward they will focus on western audiences like ff16 instead of pandering to the bug people with all the tranime shit.
>xvi
>not anime
just say you only played the demo.
it sold better than rebirth because it is less tranime inspired, but still flopped catastrophically because too much tranime inspiration.
The first half wanted to be game of thrones but once Cid dies it forgets all that and just falls into all the same old trappings of every generic jrpg story
should have stuck with the game of thrones route because the storytelling and presentation was top notch for the first 10 or so hours but I guess they figured halfway through "wait we should be making typical FF after all"
FF16 isn't "typical FF". It's the most boring FF (yes, even more boring story than FF15)
Aerith speech at temple of the ancients literally spells you out what happened at the end
its just cloud schizo hallucinating with aerith because he cant accept the past, just like he cant accept zack death
I can't believe they ruined my childhood game.
What were they smoking?
is reeve a furry?
Im having the same effect as with Remake. After finishing Rebirth, I want to play some old jrpgs and fantasize a little bit about how it would work with 7R combat, etc
Any good rpgs on the PS5 now that I'm done with Rebirth?
like rebirth? pretty much nothing
tales of arise always get mentioned but that game has atrocious combat
FFVIII and chrono trigger are the easiest to imagine
Dragon Quest 11? There aren't many large scale sweeping jrpgs anymore
Do you mean scale as in content or scope of the games premise? Xenoblade games are really beefy in both.
>People actually think Cloud is having a schizo meltdown and we aren't on some world merging bullshit
How?
they're as much in denial as they think he is
They only "played" the last 15 minutes on YouTube. pls understand
It can be interpreted either way. The story is so convoluted anyway.
>It can be interpreted either way.
Yes it can be interpreted incorrectly.
Don't blame people reading it wrong. Shit's so convoluted.
It's not that complicated, people are just moronic.
See
it literally cant be interpreted as schizo/imagination
>it literally cant be interpreted as schizo
So Red is schizo now?
yes they have linked up schizo delusions that totallly makes sense
Red has multiple personality disorder because no way is he that good of an actor
>Tifa can't see shit for obvious reasons
>but Cloud and Red do
Tigays are getting nervous
Nah, it’s just lifestream force ghost shenanigans. If you paid attention at all, you’d know that the lifestream encompasses not just the planet, but every instances of the planet in the multiverse.
>ignores Sephiroth literally spelling it out that the reunion (of worlds) is happening
And it didn’t succeed and only the other timeline got destroyed because Aerith interfered. Sephy’s endgame is merging all the timelines together and destroying them all at once to absorb the entirety of the lifestream and become a multiversal god.
Because we actually played the game and paid attention to all the cutscenes and the context clues that tell us all the worlds have merged back into 1 world.
We can also see how the opening part of part 3 will play out - Cloud is acting like nothing happened when everyone else is mourning over Aeriths death, which will lead to Barret/Tifa calling him out on it, which will lead to the actual memories surfacing, which will lead to his mental breakdown where he ends up comatosed in a wheel chair.
>all the worlds have merged back into 1 world.
You've been wrong for two weeks and you're going to insist on being wrong for 3-4 more years aren't you?
No, I have been right about it for two weeks and I will continue to insist that I am right for the next 3-4 years.
It makes far, far more sense given what the game says and shows you than whatever insane theory you guys have that there's still multiple timelines because Zack says "OH SHIT WE CAN REUNIT THE WORLDS!" at the end of the game, despite the fact that Zack is a clueless airhead that never has any idea what the frick is going on, including during Rebirth, at the end, when he quite literally shouts WHAT IS GOING ON when all the worlds start to merge.
why is sephiroth saying i underestimated you
who is the aerith fighting with us at the end
why does the aerith that died have white materia when we saw her emptying it and giving it to cloud ?
why can red xiii sense aerith ?
>why is sephiroth saying i underestimated you
because he underestimated whatever version of aerith that was at the end, context says she's the equivilent of whatever sephiroth is running around, whether it's post-OG7 sephiroth or post-AC sephiroth.
the same aerith that he's chasing all game, the one that he says "ah so this is where you've been hiding" etc etc
>who is the aerith fighting with us at the end
either post-og aerith or post-ac aerith, it's not entirely clear and interviews are making it seem like Remake trilogy leads directly into AC as opposed to being a sequel with post-AC Sephiroth.
>why does the aerith that died have white materia when we saw her emptying it and giving it to cloud ?
no idea and it's not really explained, i just assumed it was a bunch of different timelines happening all at once where in some he saved her and in some he failed, since the merger of worlds specifically happens as a direct result of the conflicting emotions in cloud across the multiverse at that time
>why can red xiii sense aerith ?
why can the one character in the party that is in tune with the life stream and can generally sense mystical life stream shit able to sense the life stream ghost of aerith? really?
so cloud isnt schizo and can see life stream aerith is ur theory?
the game wants you to think cloud is seeing aeriths ghost, its a red herring, cloud has literally erased the laying aerith into the water scene, the moment he remembers that, his mind is going to break with him going wheelchair mode
so what does red xiii sense then? in the exact same spot as cloud is seeing her
jenova
kino alert
>she takes the face of loved ones to cause unrest and paranoia under the people so they attack each other
i really really hope its jenova larping as ghost aerith, would be kino
SE is too pussy to pull that
Red XIII can sense Aerith because they're both attuned to the lifestream.
Rebirth established that Ayylmaos like Jenova can't interact with it.
Jenova can mimic people physically, and maybe even mentally.
But it can't mimic them spiritually.
so Aerith will save Cloud and Clotis will get nothing in part 3?
They’ll still get sex
no. that would make Tifa a pump and dump. she deserves a real relationship.
No. We'll still get Tifa fixing him. Aerith has her hands full praying for Holy.
She won't be the one to fix Cloud because that whole sequence is important for both Cloud and Tifa. Aerith doesn't gain as much if anything beyond the satisfaction of fixing Cloud. And she might not even be able too because it needed someone who knew Cloud's past with at least some firsthand knowledge to help him sort it.
Besides. Aerith trusts Tifa and loves her as a friend. She knows Tifa can and will do it. At most, she might give Tifa a shove towards Mideel.
>Aerith trusts Tifa and loves her as a friend. She knows Tifa can and will do it. At most, she might give Tifa a shove towards Mideel.
>he didn’t do the Cosmo Canyon protorelic quest
Nah Clouds fully lost it.
That's why he's acting like nothing happened and Aerith is still alive.
Whether he's talking to lifestream aerith, or he's hallucinating talking to an alive aerith is irrelevant - he's still under the assumption that he saved Aerith and she's alive, just staying at the temple to pray.
He can't be hallucinating because the same Aerith that 'touches' Red is the same one he sees. That doesn't mean he lost it, he means he is now connected to whatever realm Aerith still exists on, probably the lifestream.
>He can't be [headcanon]
this just going to be your thing whenever you have absolutely zero argument left?
I don’t get how people don’t understand this. They somehow accept that Zack is alive too despite working on an identical premise.
> probably the lifestream.
It’s been a while since I last watched it, but didn’t this exact same thing happen in Advent Children? Aerith communicating with Cloud from the lifestream?
Yes. And all of their conversations amounted to
>Aerith please forgive me for letting you die.
>There isn't anything to forgive you doofus. It's fine. We're fine. Everything is okay. Please go home and stop running away from everyone. Tifa is literally raising the boy you think I gifted you will you go out killing yourself. Stop being a Barret. Go on. Shoo. Be happy.
>But I FAILED YOU AND I SUCK I'M NO GOOD FOR ANYONE GEOSTIMA REEEE
>...Alright. We'll try again later.
>That doesn't mean he lost it, he means he is now connected to whatever realm Aerith still exists on, probably the lifestream.
Anon the point is that regardless of what version of Aerith he's talking to, he's talking to a dead Aerith that he thinks is alive.
If I don't have an argument left I'll either ignore the post or I'll say that I have no idea.
>why can the one character in the party that is in tune with the life stream and can generally sense mystical life stream shit able to sense the life stream ghost of aerith? really?
Then Cloud is seeing lifestream Aerith and he isn't schizo.
>he isn't schizo.
No, Cloud is still a schizo. He's actually seeing Aerith, this much is obvious.
But in the same scene it's clear he's still being Sephiroth's puppet as the second he sees the Black Materia in the ending he gives that same soul dead cadence delivery of "The Reunion" and is incredibly specific and short about going North to find Sephiroth as he was all throughout the Temple of the Ancients.
>despite this evidence because that doesn't count!
Cloud saved her.
Your evidence is what one character says, a character that is generally clueless, evidence that also ignores a ton of context clues throughout the game.
My evidence comes from tons of context clues throughout the game, as well as dialog direct from the mastermind of the entire breaking of the multiverse and rejoining of it - Sephiroth.
But sure, go ahead and keep thinking that your piddly amount of circumstantial at best evidence trumps what the game has been showing and telling you for 40+ hours. I don't really care one way or another, I just wish you idiots would stop screeching that I'm wrong everytime I post my shit because it just circles into the same fricking conversation over and over with who I know are the same people.

Take a hint.
Mate, I've seen at least 5 different anons saying something very similar to what I've been saying. As more and more people actually beat the game more and more of us are talking about what actually happened as opposed to having to deal with you morons that watched 2 hours of cutscenes on youtube and claim that you played the game or know the story.
Keep telling yourself that anon. I struggle to think how anyone familiar with the IP and the writers and who went through the game and paid attention to that final chapter can come to the conclusions you did.
Anon I can say, quite literally, the exact same thing about what you guys believe. You realize that right?
At least I'm here willing to explain and defend my stance, all you guys ever say is "lol no you're wrong" and leave it at that, and when asked about the specifics of your theories you just get all pissy and say "youre just wrong bro play the game" or some other such nonsense.
I've explained at least a dozen times why Zack is still in the prime timeline given all the context clues we've had over the course of the game. I've even gone into detail as to how it's going to effect part 3. And yet anytime I ask you guys why you think Zack is still in an alternate timeline or what that's going to do with part 3 you just go "durr because he said worlds can be rejoined so clearly he's in another universe!".
It's infuriating to have to share these threads with people that skipped so much of the story and do not understand the very fundamental basics of storytelling.
There’s no point arguing with people who clearly belong to Beck’s crew.
Frick off. You've been given clear as day arguments that refute your entire position and you just ignore them. "Cloud is just being schizo." "Zack is just dumb."
Sephiroth outright says the timelines are being split again. Zack outright says, in a scene that is meant to be taken at face value, that they're split. Red XIII recognizes Aerith's presence.
You offer no counterarguments besides your inane handwaving.
>Sephiroth outright says the timelines are being split again
Riddle me this dipshit.
If Sephiroths entire goal during Rebirth is to reunite the worlds so the Lifestream is no longer split among an infinite multiverse, why in the FRICK would he split more worlds off when everything was merging back together?
Do you think the merger of worlds happened in an instant? Did you miss the part where during the entire final fight of the game the timelines are all merging in on one another?
>Zack outright says
Yeah, in a scene that specifically shows the flower bed in full bloom - something that is only ever shown to happen in the prime timeline, something that the game goes out of it's way multiple times to mention and show you that "hey, player, you see all the plant life wilting away and dying? this is really important to knowing if you're in a dying/dead timeline or if you're in the prime timeline".
>Red XIII recognizes Aerith's presence
"why can the one character in the party that is in tune with the life stream and can generally sense mystical life stream shit able to sense the life stream ghost of aerith? really?"
Quite literally everything you posted is wrong because you fundamentally misunderstood the ending of the game. I keep posting my "theory" over and over in these threads because I do not want to spend the next 4 years explaining this shit to every single moron that took the first theory they saw as the correct one, and arguing with them ad nasuem and constantly bringing up the exact same bits of proof over and over while you morons just ignore them and say "nah youre wrong bro lol".
>If Sephiroths entire goal during Rebirth is to reunite the worlds so the Lifestream is no longer split among an infinite multiverse, why in the FRICK would he split more worlds off when everything was merging back together?
Simple. Because Cloud and Zack and Aerith were beating him. Rebirth's ending constitutes a partial victory against Sephiroth.
>Yeah, in a scene that specifically shows the flower bed in full bloom - something that is only ever shown to happen in the prime timeline
You have been debunked on this before. The flowers are shown to bloom in Elmyra's garden and the Church is special.
>life stream ghost of aerith
So which is it, is Cloud hallucinating or is she actually there?
>because Zack says "OH SHIT WE CAN REUNIT THE WORLDS!" at the end of the game, despite the fact that Zack is a clueless airhead that never has any idea what the frick is going on
No writer, not even Nomura and Nojima, would pull an unreliable narrator at that juncture. And yet your entire brainfart hinges on just that and ignoring every single detail and Chekhov's Gun in the minutiously made CGI ending.
Additionally
It’s both, his schizo melt down is letting him see into the other world
They didn't listen to what Sephiroth said. Probably had multiple streams playing at the same time
Are people moronic r do they genuinely not understnd the ending? It's obvious that Aerith dies in the main universe. Everybody else sees her corpse, and doesn't see her corpse. Cloud seeing her ghost is some shennanigan, but it doesn't change that she's dead dead.
>The last gasp of Crisis Core gays.png
Is hard mode moronic in this game like in the first part with no consumables allowed?
It's worse because the chapters are all 2-3x longer than Remake.
that said just run Barret on your team all the time and between Bonus Shot and Overpower you will almost always have 2 ATB bars to burn on Prey.
Reminder that Zack is a mistake.
This made it all worth it
Zack still has the superior Cissnei
dont mind me, just posting the best rebirth ost
?si=H-W_UpenvJT4vjXo
bold of you to assume that aerith touched red, red actually as touched like when you feel someone in the lifestream, like the wind or something
Haven't gotten the game yet but does having the 1st remake complete save matter at all?
No they're moronic.
why does Barret not put more effort into making Cloti happen? he clearly knows Tifa is in love with Cloud
He’s neutral between Tifa and Aerith
In the OG he’s even ok with Yuffie long as Cloud doesn’t go for Marlene
because he's not a mentally ill shipper. in fact Barret is probably the sanest most well-adjusted person in the group
That’s Cait Sith
>furhomosexual
>well-adjusted
Cloud does make the first move though
>it's just Cloud being schizo
>it's just Zack being an airhead
Jesus Christ.
Best thing about this brain is how it actually shows who's smart and who's a smooth brain when it comes to understanding the story.
Says the guy who belongs to Beck’s crew.
>tfw the evil shinra is going whaling looking for WEAPONs
why are they all fricking whales now
They sound like the planet crying in the og I guess. The dangerous weapons are up north anyway.
Aerith is a prostitute btw. The alternate timeline confirms it.
she knew she was gonna die
her egg alarm was going off even worse than a 30 year old who is ready to settle
Did you rike it?
i riked it
Y-YOU W-WENT THROUGH MY STUFF?
How did they make Aerith so innocent and pure hearted? After playing the flashback with her as a kid and seeing her desperately trying to find help for her mom only to be ignored and mocked really hits home that she is impossible to corrupt. She lived her childhood in captivity as a test rat, watched her mom die, grew up constantly in surveillance only to get pursued and caught again. Despite all of this she doesn't hate Tseng or the Turks even though she witnessed them dropping the plate on the slums. She was also the only party member not to be pissed at Cait's betrayal.
“Focus on the future, not the past” is kinda her entire thing.
Aerith's adopted family is quite wealthy.
Her backstory post her Shinra escape is tame compared to the rest of the cast.
She’s that way because she dies. If she were intended to live they would have made her meaner
all right let's hear it
https://strawpoll.com/BDyNEa8OeZR
i'm not following the discourse here but are there really people who believe the ending means anything other than that Cloud is able to both see and interact with at least one other timeline?
You beat Sephiroph and prevented the timelines from being merged. I know it isn't communicated very well, and is stupid, but so is a lot of what happens in the final chapter
Some anons insist he's just hallucinating.
There's one moron who is hellbound on insisting the timeline stuff is over and the entire ending cinematic is just Cloud being mindbroken.
Brings me to mind of the people who thought Fate/Whispers were definitely done with after Remake's ending and that Rebirth would have none of that.
To be fair I believed this. I thought the Whispers were just agents of Fate and would disappear with the next game, that it was just a weird justification for making the next game more divergent from the original plot.
It's more obvious with this game that they had an overarching plot direction decided from the start, and the Whispers were essential to that.
I won't pretend I don't hate them as a concept though, or that I don't think this plot direction is entirely misguided.
Dirge remake soon
rebirth flopped
No it didnt. I played it and had fun with it
accept the truth.
You think we’re getting a Vincent or Cid DLC like Yuffie did?
Maybe, as long as it is not locked to some PS5 Pro or PS6 bullshit.
I can see them remastering DoC like they did with Crisis Core
DoC happens well after Advent Children which happens after the events of 7.
They're not going to do a remake on that until at least part 3 comes out.
You have DoC lore in Remake/rebirth
True, but they outright said the DoC ending is a spoiler for the remake. Make of it what you will.
I doubt they want DoC to be the ending of everything
We’ll get a sequel featuring grown up Marlene and Denzel.
>We’ll get a [headcanon]
>Vincent goes full chaos and kills Sephiroth
Kino?
>multiverse with world hopping
>Vincent becomes Chaos
hes coming
REDEMPTION
Longing > Redemption
My money’s on this. The G reports and secret ending is the only DoC thing the official SE accounts highlighted on the game’s anniversary.
No, DLC is not needed.
How can little baby Rufus fight one on one with a genetically enhanced supersoldier like Cloud?
>uses his dog to bite in clouds ankle
>then bumrushes cloud
this is not skill, this is cheating
He has a really nice gun. And a dog when he starts to lose.
Because he is perfect
Sephiroth made him his b***h
>Gleniroth: You have daddy issues also you're just a manchild
>Rufus: Yes
Sephiroth is a fricking jobber
Sephiroth was the only person in the compilation who got under his skin.
Literally, since he is infected with sephiroth aids in the sequel
Then Rufus proceeds to REEEEEE and shoot him in the back and multiple times in the face when the clone is already dead.
That was a different cutscene.
He looked good, Sephiroth should troll him more often.
Why does he see Sephiroth? Does he have Jenova or S cells?
Not to mention he must be really thin under all those coats and belts he wears haha not that I've ever thought about his naked body of course I'm not a homosexual haa
Why'd they frick us out of Barrett's loveless outfit?
Does United Refocus last for the entire battle or does it have a set duration? Worth using with Yuffie for her 3 ATB skill?
Set duration
That's shit.
give her the compass
compass takes forever to activate and the duration is pathetic.
caits mog looks so good i want to make him a permanent member of my party but i rely on barret too much and i gotta have tifa
>brutal challenge
pain
pain and suffering
My beautiful wife Aerith
Your "wife" has had all her holes thoroughly used by Zack.
Tifa is still a virgin. The choice is extremely clear.
>Tifa is still a virgin
Anon I...
That type of shitposting doesn’t work because she’s canonically a virgin
>20yo living in the slums
>virgin
LOL
LMAO even
Canonical fact
>Tifa
>Virgin
Emilio says hi
>visit these threads for the past few days
>it's mostly just Aerith fans posting non-stop and shitting on other girls
Are the threads always like this?
this shit to me an hour and he was only the warm up. tried seph for 5 minutes and I am not ready. he didn't give me an opportunity to hit once
Pause buffer when he's about to attack so you can figure out what he's doing. His red aura combos are also 3 fixed patterns, once you learn them you get free hits.
I'll try pausing. I figured the second part out with shinra guy, he always does combos on one side and doesn't repeat so that was easy enough when I realised
>But is it really YOUR sperm, Cloud?
Imagine thinking Part 3 isn't going to have even more timeline bullshit.
She can fly now as a ghost.
In the end the timeline shit was terribly intended
They barely did anything with it this game considering everything went mostly according to the OG
they fricked up temple of the ancients and turned it into generic floaty ruins and flashback trials. it was shit.
Temple of the Ancients offends me more than anything else in the game. A fricking abstract space made from cubes is trite on its own, but them having to do personal trials was the most boilerplate JRPG shit they could have done. Also it lasted for hours. At least they remembered Demon Gate
>he actually prefers OG temple of the ancients
Is this bait? are you fricking kidding me?
I completely agree and the absolute worst part was how the temple wasn't the materia like in the original. its supposed to shrink as you complete puzzles until it turns into the orb. did they just forget?
TO BE FAIR, it was interesting how they played on that. Aerith calling it a fake was clearly them toying with the player's expectations. I don't think it worked out in the end though, and Barret just casually throwing the black materia was insane
AH this reminds me. One of the most based scenes was where Aerith after the trials gives her weird narcissistic speech about how life and death the same or whatever, she rambles a bunch about nothing, and then Cloud says "Are you finished?"
Cloud is based as hell and tbh I think Sephiroph might be a good influence
Aeriths speech at the Cosmo Canyon bonfire was also basic b***h cringe. Shes such a lame character
Cosmo Canyon was fricking insane, it was like joining a cult. Given the dialogue with most of your party, I think that was intentional, but Aerith still seemed to buy into it
>tifa tells boogie what she saw
lmao you guys are ignorant and shit
>20 minutes later
TRULY I WAS THE BLIND ONE GO NANAKI WITH YOUR GREAT EYES
well bugenhagen's sidequest lets him see the whispers in action so yeah he has to change his mind there
shouldnt have been a sidequest in that case
i stopped doing all the side shit after gongaga
The truth circle or whatever is the kind of shit your crystal loving female boss sends employees to for their corporate retreat. They made Planetology come off like some kind of weird cultist scam for gullible tourists
lol yeah exactly, Cosmo Canyon seemed like some kind of privileged hippy retreat. That's actually be interesting worldbuilding, but I'm certain they didn't intend it that way
In Remake I assumed there were two Sephirophs, but it's clearly not true here so idk what to believe besides that whatever they come up with will be ultimately disappointing
Its even funnier because when Tifa gives her speech at Cosmo everyone treats her like a weirdo. But Aerith gives her I'm an ancient speech and the whole village goes yes queen speak your truth. The whole second half of the game seems like a circle jerk for Aeirth fans.
The entire game feels like it's negging Tifa for me
morons
Both of her speeches are incredibly vapid and cliche
New to FF7? facing your past and accept it was one of the messages from the original
Neither of her speeches were in the original THOUGH
Are you really this much of a simpleton that cant accept anything that wasnt in the original?
I accept everything. I don’t think aerith’s changes are good. Tifa’s are. Barret is neutral. Yuffie is mostly bad. Vincent is good. Cait is mixed.
>Tifa good
>everyone else bad
I wonder who could be behind this post...
They were just terribly written, sounded like something a 12 year old would find profound, or your drunk aunt on facebook
Not at all, they were perfectly setup in the context they were.
The entire cosmo canyon section has aerith degrading herself for being an ancient, which is clearly from modern leftism and has no presence in the original because such ideas weren’t popular.
barret was robbed
cosmo canyon is significant to the formation of avalanche and hes the only one of the group to constantly go into speeches for the planet
THE COSMO CIRCLE WAS HIS TURN
>cosmo canyon is significant to the formation of avalanche and hes the only one of the group to constantly go into speeches for the planet
In the Remake series Avalanche is formed by the three main character of Ever Crisis - Glenn, Lucia, and Matt. The game doesn't flat out say this, but the protorelic questline in Cosmo Canyon all but confirms it.
i thought they were the wutai temp government homies
They are. They're also the founders of Avalanche. Or at least Lucia and Matt are, I just assumed Glenn is part of it since Glenn was the leader of that trio in Ever Crisis and is actively working to take down Shinra in Rebirth.
I swear to god it's like you people do not understand the very basics of story telling.
>Shes hiking back on foot
She's literally just standing still watching the plane fly away and the game fades to the credits with her still standing still.
She doesn't turn around to hike back to the temple or whatever.
This kind of shit is why I insist you guys just skip through the cutscenes or didn't pay attention to them, holy frick.
Rufus killed Glenn 7 years ago. Jenova is just using Glenn's face for it's political power and to troll Rufus
Why did Rufus kill Glenn? I hope we don't have to play the mobileshit game for this
Hasn't been depicted in mobileshit game yet, things are still unclear. My personal understanding is that during the assault on Fort Tamblin Glenn picks a fight with Sephiroth who doesn't outright kill him because of their shared history on Rhadore but because of the distraction and possibly a convincing anti Shinra influence from Glenn Rufus offs him to put Sephiroth back on the leash now that Genesis has already defected and is taking Angeal away from Shinra at that moment
>Genesis
>Angeal
You’ve had 17 years to get used to the fact that they are canon. Get over it.
It somewhat mirrors her original chat at the bonfire, but I hated the hippy dippy take on cosmo canyon. Bunch of morons talking about their feelings in a therapy circle. In the original, she had learned about being a Cetra here.
It was like that in the OG too. You were just a kid so you didn’t realize that everything they said was unfalsifiable garbage
No, the theme of FF7 is how we can defy fate and change our destiny. Haven't you been paying attention? No need to accept anything now.
She's about to die, dude. Just give her some space.
The only part of the new temple that sucks is being forced to play Aerith, and having to Hold Triangle to absorb the lifestream shits. If it was Press, it would probably not annoy me that much more
I'd have been okay with trials if they had been anything more than just sad flashbacks.
Oh, for me it's very clear what they're doing and how it's all going to "pay off" in Part 3.
What they're doing is putting the OG + Compilation timeline into an eternal loop with Part 3 breaking out of the loop into a True Ending.
That's what Nomura meant when he said Part 3's ending is going to lead into Advent Children.
That's what people said at the end of part 1. Some were even expecting Zack to take over as the MC.
Realistically it won't have much of an effect on the third game, either, because that would be very difficult to write. It'll come into play in the final chapter, same way it did here. I guarantee they'll pretend the timeline shit didn't even happen for most of FFR3
difficulty wise
QB survival > sephiroth brawler > cactuar aerith > pirate ship shooting range > boxes > the rest are piss easy and not worth mentioning
wait a minute that card...
was kind of satisfying to see the old code be revealed
I'm pretty sure the shinra mansion wasn't connected to a big shinra factory near the reactor in the original. there was a huge distance between them
What's the deal with Jenova btw? I neve rplayed the original. Why do you kill her like 3 times in these 2 parts?
>What's the deal with Jenova btw?
Alien I think
In the OG there are 5 Jenova boss fights. Also she's an alien with no will of her own, she just wants to eat planets
jenova is an alien parasite from space that cannot be killed unless every single part of it gets killed at the same time
every robed dude carries jenova cells so when too many get together or sephiroth drops a jenova body part somewhere it spawns jenova the alien
all the robed guys and soldiers have jenova dna and are drawn to merge with her. sephiroth has the most jenova dna of anyone. you keep fighting her as she accumulates more of her body. you fight her again 2 more times in the original.
The Reunion (at least within the context of the OG) is all Jenova cell carriers converging on the dominant host.
Sephiroth's will is so great apparently that he usurped Jenova herself, so now the black cloaks, Cloud, and Jenova are drawn to Sephiroth's body in the North Crater.
What we keep fighting is Jenova body parts merging with black cloaks.
I wonder how Reunion works on Genesis. People with his cells clearly do hear the call as we see in Rebirth, but he himself is a special case, plus his Jenova cells should be inactive after his planet-assisted healing.
Sephiroth is jenova. He is leading the parasite but its all to benefit jenova's mindless parasitic nature
I dunno man, they've been very inconsistent on the nature of the relationship and I doubt they're going to clarify in Part 3.
Part of me really wants them to go full "Sephiroth didn't do nothing". If there's one thing the presentation of the Nibelheim Incident in Crisis Core and Rebirth did, it's make Sephiroth's descent into madness and snapping even more unbelievable.
>Part of me really wants them to go full "Sephiroth didn't do nothing"
I'd hate that personally. Just let him be the villain.
The thing is, Sephiroth isn't a very good villain. Not narratively.
He's cemented by a cool ubiquitous 90's anime villain design, a bunch of terrific theme music which were expertly used (in the OG at least), and the buildup in the OG via the Shinra HQ, the flashback, and the impaled Midgar Zolom.
And honestly Remake and Rebirth fricked up those main things in the OG that made him so good.
>Not a good villain.
Has clear ties to the MC and MC's main love interest, is a constant oppressive presence, has a clear evil plan, is stronger than the entire party combined (inb4 chaos/vincent gays) and IMO has good voice acting.
What makes a good villain for you before you strawman all my points?
>What makes a good villain for you before you strawman all my points?
NTA but the best villains are always those that that you can't see a fault in what they want, only how they go about doing it.
>What makes a good villain
The Thing. which is basically what Jenova is
He was a good villain in the OG, because he was a simple character back then. He wasn't complex, but all the beats that make a good villain were there.
He's a force of nature, a constant oppressive presence like you say.
But Sephiroth recontextualized after Compilation and now Remake/Rebirth?
The nearly creeper like obsession with Cloud they inserted into him with AC.
The inconsistency of him being presented as, like Barret says, "a stand-up guy" and then snapping, which further middles the argument of whether it's all him or Jenova.
In Remake, the buildup gets ruined because he's there from the start now, and you already fight an AC version of him at the end of Midgar before we even get to the Kalm flashback.
I also don't like how in Remake/Rebirth they made OWA his main theme and in the flashback they completely ruined the way Those Chosen By The Planet was used in the OG VII.
Sephiroths backstory and reasons for becoming so evil are shaky. He snapped one day and went insane because he thought he learned he's a cetra who's race was destroyed by humanity. And when/if he realized he's not a cetra that had no effect on him. Still wanted to wipe out everyone for...reasons. Its weak writing.
He craves power but would have nobody to weird it against if he succeeded in his plans. What does he want to do with his godlike power if he gets it? Just chill in the vacuum of space being super strong? He's batshit crazy but also always calm, cool, collected, clear headed and thinking ahead. You never get the feeling that hes someone whos utterly lost his mind, he's just a guy that's cartoonishly evil.
You fight him so many times that he doesn't feel like an actual threat, there's no mystique left to him because he's popping up every 5 minutes whispering goofy shit to you.
Also him controlling Jenova instead of Jenova influencing him somehow makes him less interesting imo. The parasitic alien that destroys planets taking over the mind and body of the worlds most powerful being would actually be threatening.
Sephiroth became a popular villain because of his design and stabbing Aerith, thats really it. As an actual character hes very 1 dimensional
>And when/if he realized he's not a cetra that had no effect on him. Still wanted to wipe out everyone for...reasons. Its weak writing.
He wants to punish humanity for killing the Cetra, and by the time he "finds out" Jenova is an alien he's already been killed by Cloud and tossed into the lifestream with Jenovas head, they merge into one creature, and their new goal becomes scaring the planet so Sephiroth/Jenova can absorb the life stream and continue doing Jenova shit on other planets, I assume by destroy the planet and using the explosion of the planet dying to propel them out into space so they can do it all over again to another planet. It's never actually explained how Jenova goes from planet to planet.
>using the explosion of the planet dying to propel them out into space so they can do it all over again to another planet. It's never actually explained how Jenova goes from planet to planet.
But that just makes it seem like Jenova is the one influencing Sephiroth and not the other way around, and SE have been pretty clear that Sephs supposedly the one in control. His motivations just coincidentally aligning perfectly with Jenovas will makes no sense though because what the hell does he get out of it?
IIRC Jenova is a broken up mess that needs to reform to its perfect form so you fight it 4 times under the names Birth, Life, Death and Synthesis as it eventually forms back to its final self in the Synthesis fight.
Jenova is an alien, the “clamity from the skies” that tricked and killed off the Cetra. Its body got broken up and when Shinra discovered it later SOLDIERS get injected with its DNA. The reunion is the process of Jenova’s body parts trying to come back together, which is where all the robed men are going. Sephiroth supposedly hijacked this and is now the actual one controlling the Jenova cells, and it’s suggested that’s the real reason cloud is trying to find Sephiroth.
All the Sephiroths running around are actually pieces of Jenova, the real one is in the crater controlling the clones and Jenova parts
Cloud is schizo, but he is actually talking to Force Ghost/Diverged Timeline Aerith. Red can sense it as well. It's not just his imagination that Aerith was saved, that is another timeline. And nobody else can see the dead world crack because they didn't go into the multiverse portal with Cloud.
So glad Cloud saved her and then the timeline where she lived is part of the confluence world. Looking forward to dating her in part 3
>dating a corpse
It’s 2024 bigot!
>Living in real world paying rent and taxes to corpos
>Vs living in lifestream forever cuddling with your waifu
It's not that hard of choice.
that gi music was creepy as hell, I like the expanded lore. I hope we get more
I wish there were more Rufus x Female reader rape fics
Be the change you seek, sister
you mean those exist? Interesting. Where can one find those?
>excited for gongaga reactor because triceratops with treads for legs
>get to gongaga reactor
>no triceratops with treads for legs
gaia has fallen
billions of multiverses must die
If Barrett just shot Cloud the first time they met it would've solved everyone's problems and Sephiroth wouldn't be a threat anymore since every other clone is a mindless moron incapable of reaching the black materia
cait sith is my favourite character to play. you're supposed to hold square to attack with the moogle, not sure how obvious that is
I will buy it on PC, I will exclusively use Cloud, Tifa and Aerith, until I get Yuffie, then it will be Cloud, Tifa and Yuffie. Part 3 will exclusively be Cloud, Tifa and Yuffie the entire game. (Baring forced segments of course)
This.
Except replace Tifa and Yuffie with Red and Cait Sith.
is multiverse sephiroth the real one? if so the whole using cloud to get the black materia shit doesn't make a whole lot of sense
I didn't like the multiverse shit either but the Cloud is imagining Aerith theory is the most moronic take I've ever seen, and makes me think those posters are just gaslighting and didn't play the game.
that's kind of what's happening though, he's not imagining he's just stuck between two timelines
You guys are too focused on the wrong thing.
It's irrelevant if Cloud is hallucinating Aerith or if he's actually talking to the spirit of Aerith whos in the lifestream.
Either way he still thinks she's alive when she is without a doubt dead.
She's not dead at all. Or rather, there is clearly a timeline where she is not dead. And death is meaningless when you can crossover timelines.
>She's not dead at all.
Yes, she is.
>Or rather, there is clearly a timeline where she is not dead.
There is only one timeline at the end of Rebirth.
>And death is meaningless when you can crossover timelines.
Which is exactly why the only time we actually deal with multiple timelines shit is the Zack part of the story and the final fight sequence, and exactly why the worlds are remerged at the end, closing the multiverse. Death once again has meaning.
How did you play the game and miss all of this? Were you busy shitposting on Ganker on your cellphone while cutscenes were happening or what?
Sephiroth's goal is to merge those timelines, but that hasn't happened completely. That's why Zack is still out there on his own again after Sephiroth fight.
>That's why Zack is still out there on his own again after Sephiroth fight.
Zack is back in the main timeline.
How does the final part of the scene imply shes dead? Its the exact opposite. Shes hiking back on foot, and we she POV not Cloud's as she watches he fly away. Theres no green glow around her either. How would Cloud imagine watching himself fly away?
why do the authors try to confirm that Tifa is a virgin? why would anyone care?
The same reason why idols in Japan can't (publicly) have boyfriends.
which is?
Japan (and general any conservative male communities)'s obsession with "purity".
Because Tifa's juxtaposition is and always has been
>Pretty girl with a hot body who only dresses like she sucks 10,000 wieners a year and has five brain functional brain cells but in actuality is a very sweet, caring, and level headed girl who had all the best traits of the girl-next-door and tomboy archetypes wrapped into one neat little package.
Also the OG game came out in 1997. A 20 year old girl being a virgin wasn't some unheard of anomaly back then, regardless of how hot she is.
How come I can hear the Advent Children lifestream song playing somewhere on the other side of the wall while I'm in the Cosmo Canyon inn?
Could weiss defeat sephiroth?
ffxiii-2 chocobo song is in during the shrina guys quest. pretty based.
You would think there would be more interactions with the party with Aerith. Why would Vincent or Cid or even Yuffie care about her dying since they don't really talk to her the whole game.
Cid knew her mom. Vincent actually doesn't seem to care that much. If you get the Tifa date during first gold saucer visit she says Aerith and Yuffie became friends really fast and are off having fun together.
Aerith just kinda blended into the background for like the first 12 chapters, aside from a few scenes it felt like basically every other party member got more time to shine and moments dedicated to their characters, specifically Yuffie who almost felt like the co-protag. She dominated the majority of the cutscenes it felt like. Aerith in general didn't talk very much, and the times where she does take priority its always her acting alone, giving her speeches or singing the song. If you don't do the gold saucer date with her there's very little time dedicated to her interacting and bonding with the other characters. Maybe I'm wrong but it just felt like a game whos entire buildup revolves around her fate didn't spent as much time on her as it should. Then near the end she suddenly dominates the story but its all about the boring timeline shit
WHERE ARE THE OUTFITS
PATCH THEM IN
well Clot have romantic kino in part 3?
>A....a.....aaaaaa.
>CLOUD, what's that, what are you trying to say?
>A...a..a
>I'm here Cloud what is it?
>Aerith....
Tifa is the ultimate cucjqueen
Is the original game still worth playing? Never played it but like both Remake games (Rebirth obv much better).
The weird Roblox graphics always turned me off.
Yeah you may as well since we won't get part 3 for a while and the original still plays so well, still one of the greatest games ever
The original is still very accessible and playable today thanks to the modding community. 60fps, analog controls, new models, widescreen.
>The original is still very accessible and playable today
You could have stopped there. You don't need mods or 60 fps or analog controls or new models. The original version of the game is still a masterpiece.
I would've agreed but I replayed it recently with mods for the first time in preparation for rebirth and the analog movement and 60fps was a game changer. For newer players 15fps and 4-way directional movement is a hard ask.
I got the brutal and legendary simulators unlocked. I think I should do hard mode before legendary based on the manuscript numbers and that I need to do hard to craft the genji gear. But is it possible to do brutal before hard mode, I want to go for that gotterdamerung.
Yeah it is, you can do hard mode for the crafting materials you need and immediately do the vr stuff and make the rest of hard a joke
what i did was prep ALL my characters with materia, and get lvl 70, then i did the brutal challenges 1-4 to get elemental and magnify, then i started hard mode for the manuscripts and when i reach chapter 13 i am going to do the rest of the brutal challenges for the gotterdamerung before starting the crazy bossrush chapters
>remake temple of the ancients
>actually looks intimadting and designed around protecting something
>shinra is everywhere, setting up camps and actually being together with the turks
>the turks are actually there, its not just tseng and elena alone
>inner temple looks amazing
>music that represents the enigmatic nature of the temple
>Demon wall now protects the black materia as it should, instead of being at the exit for some reason
>requires trials to face the worst moments/memories of your life to fuel the door that leads to a materia that is built around negative emotions
>the murals and cetra expositions actually has a message, which is to not touch the black materia, and they have their own style, not some egyptcian rip off
>entire section of aerith ascending to be a real cetra and controlling the lifestream, music included
>finally fighting all the turks, and tseng included
>Cait actually earns his redemption with a real sacrifice, saving the party and not being used
>no longer a generic mayian temple with generic indiana jones traps and generic egyptcian murals
Fricking morons
ToA was perfect beyond measure. Shame that the chapter following it was utter disaster.
It is as if they designed the chapters chronologically, and the last chapter being the last on the deadline.
Also the temple itself should be the materia like in the OG.
ToA was great at first but it just went on too long. Especially as you get to the end and the cetra stop you to explain shit you already know but slowly for morons. Shave like 20% of the time spent there off and you've got a pretty perfect final duneon. Maybe it'll be fun on hard mode, but on Dynamic it just sort of felt like "Yeah, yeah, I get it, next please."
when i got to red dragon i felt like the overly long dungeon was finally over if i just beat this boss. little did i know
Pro tip you can steal the Tough Ring from Reno. Or whatever it's called now. +50 VIT/SPR basically doubles your defense.
WTF I thought entire game that stealing was useless because shit drops anyway and that bosses had no drops at all.
yeah most of the stealable crap is crafting junk. sometimes you can steal like a potion too.
the only use for steal is if you wanna do the mug+enemy skill exploit.
Wot is the exploit
Mug only costs half an atb, using plasma discharge enemy skill gives you burst AOE damage every time you get an atb charge. Pair HP absorb with enemy skill and your not only doing constant AOE damage but also healing your self.
What does mug have to do with that?
Also it's not really an exploit, it's by design, and not really useful on harder fights / higher difficulties because it only heals you for like 2-3% of your overall HP per enemy hit.
>Enemy Skill
You didn't beat the game
ugh, I'm so disappointed. Rebirth feels like FF7 but with the sense of wonder and possibility replaced by fan service. Kind of like Dissidia
Regardless of what you think happened, I just want to say, the cutscenes with the dirty dishrag ghosts look fricking terrible.
Im 92 hours in, chapter 13, just finished the trials. How long till I beat the game so I can get back to Gilgamesh Island and shit?
You have like 2-3 more hours I'd say
Ok, I think I'll be able to beat it today. Really enjoyed my time with it, but I honestly dont care much about the end of this game since it isnt the actual ending, and time jannies are cringe. I hope the boss fights are cool, then its fun time again
Soon, chapter 14 is literally just the final boss fights.
Like 3 hours, with about 2.5 of it being cutscenes or boss fights
Chapter 13's "dungeon" is pretty long, so 3 hours and a bit?
Depends on how fast you can beat the final boss which has more than 10 phases
I know its long, tried to explore everything up till now, and its been 3 hours or more inside this thing. Game progress says Im around the last quarter of the chapter though, and I just want to go back to quests and battle challenges
I think c13 is the point of no return so you'll have to play the ending before then. Forgotten Capital is short compared to the Temple, mostly cutscenes in fact.
Theyre trying to save the world from Sephiroth, why the frick do any of them care who likes who?
Because they're all like 20 years old and horny
Tifa can't cope with her childhood tragedy.
She thinks Cloud owes her sex.
Breaking down what Sephiroth says:
After the rest of the party arrives, they see Aerith's body still alive in Cloud's arms with her eyes opened. The camera zooms in on Tifa's face, as she witnesses the world glitching and sees blood appear and disappear. The order goes
>No blood, blood, no blood, blood, followed by one more glitch cut as the camera focuses back to Tifa's shocked face.
Theres no blood after this last glitch, nor are her eyes shown closed before Cloud sets her on the ground.
>Sephiroth: "And so it begins. A confluence of worlds...and emotions"
Hes saying that the timelines where Aerith is dead and alive are literally merging together along with the emotions felt through them.
>Sephiroth" Loss, chief among them. It engulfs fleeting moments of joy, transforming them into rage, sadness, hatred."
Sephiroth is confirming that happy emotions are being overwritten with bad emotions. This is why everyone is sad in the end even though Aerith is physically walking around. Their emotions are rewritten and the sadness from the timeline where she died are engulfing any happiness they have in the timeline where she lives.
>Sephiroth: "Never have I felt them so keenly."
Aerith then holds Cloud's face before he sets her on the ground (no blood visible). Theres never blood present after this moment, even when everyone is standing around her body before Cloud wakes her up.
With the timelines merged, Aerith is alive with the side effect of everyone feeling the emotions from the timeline where she died, except Cloud. Cid reminds us that they are at weigh capacity so Aerith has to stay behind and walk to the Forgotten Capital on foot.
>With the timelines merged, Aerith is alive with the side effect of everyone feeling the emotions from the timeline where she died, except Cloud.
>this is what cutscene skippers actually believe
lmao this pasta will never not by funny
Keep ignoring the rainbows, they are all in Clouds head am i right?
What rainbows are you talking about?
Theres rainbows happening all over at the end, including when Sephiroth is showing cloud the real state of the multiverse and it's merger, and including when Aerith pops out at the end from her hiding to help fight, and including what we see at the end just before Cloud and Zack pop out of wherever they were fighting Sephiroth.
You're gonna have to be more specific.
The maker of this image consolidated a lot of the ending scene, but when ever the rainbow appears its a divine intervention from the original game's Aerith. Clouds sword shoots the rainbow beam before he deflects Sephy, The rainbow is there where Aerith holds his face, the rainbow is there when she shows up to fight Sephy, and Cloud walks through a rainbow portal right before he tells Aerith to wake up.
That entire image and explanation falls apart when it tires to use zack saving Cloud instead of Biggs as proof that Aerith is manipulating things through some kind of divine power. That time split happens as a result of Zack making a decision.
Also I don't see how anything I said regarding the merger of timelines is invalidated because of those rainbows. The merger of timelines isn't completed until after the final fight with Sephiroth is over and all of those rainbows have already happened.
The rainbows saves Zack and keeps him alive or moves him from timeline to timeline where hes needed.
The rainbows are just a visual representation of TIMELINE SHIT going down.
It's not specifically when Aerith is fricking with the timeline.
Anyone else think Aerith and Sephiroth becoming timelords is kinda lame and gay?
She's dead in this world. Cloud is either delusional or seeing an alternate world. They said this story will still lead into Advent Children.
>Cid reminds us that they are at weigh capacity so Aerith has to stay behind and walk to the Forgotten Capital on foot.
(paraphrasing this bit)
Cloud : Sephiroth is up north, soldiers intuition
Barret : Alright we trust you
(word for word on this bit)
Barret : Just remember - We got everything ridin' on this. And that's a load you'd best be ready to carry.
Cid : No heavy loads, we're close to capacity as it is!
Cid's making a joke about the heavy load Cloud is shouldering that Barret just referenced you autistic frick, not the fact that Aerith on board would make the plane overweight and crash it again.
This is why no one should take you seriously, holy shit.
We do take it seriously because the last time the full part was on the bronco, the wings fell off. Cid has been saying that weight is a concern all game, and it came into play when all 9 party members boarded.
Anon Cid is quite literally talking about the line of dialog Barret just said that is referencing an imaginary load of burdern on Clouds shoulders. He's making a joke to try to lighten up the somber mood
I want to kiss Tifa on the lips
her lower lips
does there exist any canon proof that Tifa is beautiful or is it all incel cope?
How the frick do they get from Northern Cave/crater whatever the frick it is to Mideel?
Tries his best to save his best friend, only to be cucked by him.
Zack had already been cucked by tseng at that point.
looks like they are wearing clown shoes
>Yeah now that you mention it Aerith most of the guys in Corel prison did look like Barret.
CLOUD YOU NEED TO FRICK AERITH FOR ME SHES OVULATING, THE CETRA RACE MUST LIVE
Why didn't President Shinra try to impregnate Aerith?
He was too busy sitting dramatically in a chair, resting his head on one arm
I am at Nibelheim and judging from what you gays are writing Aerith must've been getting the most unnatural, forced push in vidya history in the final chapter to even get on Tifa's level. Because for the past 45 hours this has been a pure Tifa game.
I guess you didn't notice all the Tifa related side quests stopped at Corel. Its to give the player a chance to increase affection points for Aerith and Yuffie in the second half. It seems the devs intended for the player to get Tifa as the date in the first gold Saucer visit, then Aerith second visit.
>Doing protorelic quests.
>Hojo does something to Chadley, it's never brough up again.
>He has MORE Chadleys
Part 3 is going to be even more Chadley.
Replace Chadley with MAI
>MAI is Chadley's femsona
>In Part 3 Chadley transitions and becomes MAI
>In part 3 Hojo transitions and becomes MAI
Fixed
Don't forget that Hojo canonically uploads himself to the internet
Crazy how Hojo can just do anything with science. He's mainly a biologist of some kind but on the side builds androids and figures out how to upload the human mind into a digital space.
Chadley is how he's keeping track of Cloud. Though yeah I'm not quite sure what he did to Chadley
how come the timeline didn't change when I picked a candy bar instead of a bag of chips?
It did. All decisions are their own timeline and now part of the confluence.
ok how does that actually work? I ate both? neither? all of them at the same time?
Tifa and Zack are the ultimate cucks of FF. Is there a bigger cuck in the series?
vincent
Vincent is right there
Kain
Where's meta Lifestream Aerith and where is Remakerith?
So if you can just become a lifestream ghost/timeline how come none of the other Cetra ever did this?
