Honestly it all depends on how genuinely seamless the world is overall and how reliant it is on "loading one region at a time" streaming. They've basically got most of the game world done already, leaving out Wutai, Northern Continent and Mideel/Materia Cave, but they're also blatantly condensing it all to be traversable in real-time on foot or in chocobo/vehicle.
I'm actually curious how big the file size on part 3 will be, because unless a new console gen occurs all the sudden, they have the vast majority of assets made already and just have to repopulate/rework pre-existing content for new stuff and/or plot reasons.
I don't think they're making it easy to figure out, I think they're making it with the assumption that everyone knows the twist at this point.
Kitase can spout all the bullshit he wants about "oh we made it for first timers" or whatever, but at this point, they're cutting out the pretense that this isn't a Eva-type rebuild/pseudo sequel thing.

People tend to forget that one of the main reasons Nomura got kicked out from creating Versus XIII was because he had "too ambitious plans for the airship".
Now Rebirth's "gimmicks" in the trilogy are opening up the world and freedom to do what you want when you want (once it's unlocked) and part 3 will need it's own promotional "gimmicks". And frankly speaking the only things that come to mind are having the world in your hands with the Highwind to the point it makes Rebirth look like a joke, and perhaps some sort of SRPG aspect where you help Wutai prevail against Shinra once the ceasefire ends, something we will no doubt get a glimpse of based on the latest trailer, although the SRPG part might already appear in Rebirth considering Fort Condor and all that.
One interesting thing for part 3 would be if the verticality will be extended even further to show the party's overall growth into even greater superhumans. OG FFVII did something similar by using the Turks as a measuring stick, going from 3v1 vs Reno where Reno could effortlessly escape afterwards to the point of 3v3 where the party depending on the lvl can effortlessly dispatch them without them being able to escape. In Remake the Turks got kinda nerfed, or Cloud's party buffed, or both, in comparison to the OG, so it's interesting to see how else the growth in power will be acknowledged. Roche, maybe? Wouldn't be surprised if he's second class in Rebirth and first class in part 3, showing increasingly cellular degeneration as the story progresses across the trilogy.

Not that anon but it's really not that surprising, in the early FF games the airship was just a convenient way to let the player avoid traversing the map, from there it's always just been a fast travel system or a background element because FF loves it's callbacks and references, I don't know why anyone would think we're going to get to fly it in any meaningful way it'll be the same as it always has been (and that's fine I don't want to play flight simulator within my FF game)

ff15... depends on how much time you have to play. honestly I think ff15 is best when you just dick around in the game rather than pretending it is any kind of finished product with a plot, so I wouldn't recommend rushing it before rebirth

It's not. It's there because, just like everything in XV, it's designed based on fan feedback. I'm not sure after which ATR, but they asked fans what do they want to see in XV. One of the most popular one was an airship. The next big trailer, they showed the flying car.
That is one aspect where I think the team will actually deliver. Rebirth had kept all vehicles found at this point >Chocobo (including the flying black ones) >Buggy >Tiny Bronco

It's the same as with Star Wars. Even if you haven't watched the movies, the popular culture have spoiled you how Darth Vader is Luke's father. You would know it anyway and understand it even without not being familiar with the movies.
With Aerith, you wouldnt know she's a protag lady and you would know Sephiroth is antagonist and you'd see Sephiroth impaling Aerith. Easy concept to understand even if you hadn't played the game. However Cloud being unreliable narrator and him inserting his past self to other Soldier in a flasback in the game with Tifa doubting his story but only to be revealed Cloud actually was there but not as super soldier but as masked regular Shinra grunt would be lot hard concept to grasp for someone not having played the game

But that's exactly what happened. Shinra thought Jenova was Ancient. They tried to recreate Ancients by creating Sephiroth with Jenova cells to harness Ancients' powers. What they didn't know at that time was that Jenova wasn't Ancient but a space virus set to destroy the world. So what they created wasn't Ancient that would help Shinra harness the power of planet but they created capable body for Jenova that could achieve the destruction of the world by summoning the meteor

For what I can extract from newer FF7 media and some discussions, it seems Sephiroth became this force of nature capable even of overriding Jenova and he somehow became consciouslly some big evil angel-god who intended to do what he does.
It's almost the same thing in practice than having him pursue all of this thinking it's his own volition but being Jenova's influence instead but Square can't have their biggest villain just be as mind controlled as Cloud.
The only difference is the nuance involved.

The remaining Cetra managed to seal Jenova but Shinra excavated Jenova from Northern Crater and brought it to Nibelheim to study it thinking it was Ancient (which it was but infected with Jenova virus). Cetra also devised their Temple to house Black Materia but also to crush the one trying to get the Black Materia out from the temple

In the og the hooded figures that have lost sanity have been injected with Jenova cells. You can see them travelling to the North Crater for Reunion. North Crater is where Sephiroth actually body is. The Sephiroth you see running around in overworld in the game's current time is the Jenova body from Shinra HQ. When you fight Jenova 3 times on your way to North crater (First in Shinra Cargo ship, second in Forgotten Capitol and third in Northern Crater before Cloud hands Black Materia to Sephiroth in the crystal), it's body part from the main Jenova body, who's taking the form of Sephiroth and using Cloud and Sephiroth's relation to lure Cloud into continuing to chase Sephiroth to be used as tool to retrieve the Black Materia and to bring to Sephiroth to North Crater

7 was an obvious choice because of its popularity and state of tech that FF7 was produced with. 10 is second only to 7 in popularity, its also graphically acceptable enough not to need a remake, plus 10-2 resolves the story reason for it. 9 is beloved, but by a fewer number of people than 10, while having an art style that extends the life of the graphics somewhat. 8 has tech old enough to justify a remake, but it probably does not have the popularity to justify it. Kitase recently said they will not be doing a 6 remake because it would take 20 years to do. Will be interesting to see what the do.
The main problem with FFX is that they have to release also X-2 and nobody liked that story, also i heard they made a X-3 in a form of a book.
I think FF8 would spoke to more people because the story appears to be mature enough. Now i think it's a better candidate because iirc the main story isn't fully explained, we don't really know Ultimecia's purpose, why is she evil, for that reason some people made that theory of Riona being in fact Ultimecia. This could be a good way to say more about the story.

The only time Cloud's actually had any oomph of notable muscle is his original Nomura artwork (and I guess Smash Bros Ultimate by accuracy). Everything since then has depicted him as what basically is: a young adult that wasn't fit for the super soldier program and ended up injected full of it anyway, with thin limbs. Just look at OG Dissidia Cloud.
People are so used to the 'roided gut aesthetic that think that people in shape who aren't juggernauts are way too skinny.

It would have nothing to do with "guns" as such but an asanine hyperspecific clause about not having civilians shooting a gun, or only allowing a specific amount of scenes in the game of a certain nature.

One of the best written dialogues in the game despite the translation and how cartoony the game is in general is the one conversation Aerith has with Cloud at the park.
Right before Tifa shows up to be prostituted and they go after her.
She talks about how Cloud reminds her of someone, says it was her first boyfriend and when he insists on asking if she was serious, the answer is negative.
In a sense she really liked the dude and missed him but she was never deluded they were fated to be together and live moves on. Your first teenage love will always be it, but live moves on.
Don't know how it went in the remake.

Maybe IRL but we are talking here about anime logic and regardless how she feels about it, Zack is clearly still in love with Aerith so there would be a NTR factor regardless. There is also the fact that they retconned and fleshed out their relationship a lot over the years, so just looking at it from the perspective of the OG ff7 seems foolish to me. Lastly, FF7R already altered the relationship between Aerith and Cloud and it was definitely away from the classic love triangle in the original game with Aerith acting a lot more detached and calculating. Yeah sure they are showing romantic scenes in trailers but during the State of Play they also said that they added more character you can take to a date on the Gold Saucer so I don't think that's as important as people make it out to be, it probably has a lot more to do with the devs trying to reintroduce some suspense around Aeriths fate. I did, and it lines up with an earlier interview where the devs explained that Red XIII has two sets of voice lines for most sidequests in the remake, depending on whether it's being done before or after Cosmo Canyon. I wonder if people will be surprised because the original game didn't convey it too well.

So far 7R is following similar footsteps.
The first "remake" chapter is mostly the same with new dialogue and interactions that would be normal even for a "pure" remake. But they also added a lot of little things suggesting it's more of a sequel.
Then the "second" chapter still seems mostly the same as you go through Junon and other events while also even more that's a new thing going on.
Bet they'll similarly go more apeshit in the third or final game.

Honestly it all depends on how genuinely seamless the world is overall and how reliant it is on "loading one region at a time" streaming. They've basically got most of the game world done already, leaving out Wutai, Northern Continent and Mideel/Materia Cave, but they're also blatantly condensing it all to be traversable in real-time on foot or in chocobo/vehicle.
I'm actually curious how big the file size on part 3 will be, because unless a new console gen occurs all the sudden, they have the vast majority of assets made already and just have to repopulate/rework pre-existing content for new stuff and/or plot reasons.
I don't think they're making it easy to figure out, I think they're making it with the assumption that everyone knows the twist at this point.

People tend to forget that one of the main reasons Nomura got kicked out from creating Versus XIII was because he had "too ambitious plans for the airship".
Now Rebirth's "gimmicks" in the trilogy are opening up the world and freedom to do what you want when you want (once it's unlocked) and part 3 will need it's own promotional "gimmicks". And frankly speaking the only things that come to mind are having the world in your hands with the Highwind to the point it makes Rebirth look like a joke, and perhaps some sort of SRPG aspect where you help Wutai prevail against Shinra once the ceasefire ends, something we will no doubt get a glimpse of based on the latest trailer, although the SRPG part might already appear in Rebirth considering Fort Condor and all that.
One interesting thing for part 3 would be if the verticality will be extended even further to show the party's overall growth into even greater superhumans. OG FFVII did something similar by using the Turks as a measuring stick, going from 3v1 vs Reno where Reno could effortlessly escape afterwards to the point of 3v3 where the party depending on the lvl can effortlessly dispatch them without them being able to escape. In Remake the Turks got kinda nerfed, or Cloud's party buffed, or both, in comparison to the OG, so it's interesting to see how else the growth in power will be acknowledged. Roche, maybe? Wouldn't be surprised if he's second class in Rebirth and first class in part 3, showing increasingly cellular degeneration as the story progresses across the trilogy.
We're 2 generations of hardware further though.

Shinra is not same as Hojo. Hojo wanted to experiment how it will go when Sephiroth realizes his true origins. Hojo had theory of Reunion he wanted to see. Shinra only wanted the scientific advances Hojo could provide, but what Hojo wanted didnt necessarily allign with what Shinra wanted

But that's exactly what happened. Shinra thought Jenova was Ancient. They tried to recreate Ancients by creating Sephiroth with Jenova cells to harness Ancients' powers. What they didn't know at that time was that Jenova wasn't Ancient but a space virus set to destroy the world. So what they created wasn't Ancient that would help Shinra harness the power of planet but they created capable body for Jenova that could achieve the destruction of the world by summoning the meteor

For what I can extract from newer FF7 media and some discussions, it seems Sephiroth became this force of nature capable even of overriding Jenova and he somehow became consciouslly some big evil angel-god who intended to do what he does.
It's almost the same thing in practice than having him pursue all of this thinking it's his own volition but being Jenova's influence instead but Square can't have their biggest villain just be as mind controlled as Cloud.
The only difference is the nuance involved.

7 was an obvious choice because of its popularity and state of tech that FF7 was produced with. 10 is second only to 7 in popularity, its also graphically acceptable enough not to need a remake, plus 10-2 resolves the story reason for it. 9 is beloved, but by a fewer number of people than 10, while having an art style that extends the life of the graphics somewhat. 8 has tech old enough to justify a remake, but it probably does not have the popularity to justify it. Kitase recently said they will not be doing a 6 remake because it would take 20 years to do. Will be interesting to see what the do.

I did, and it lines up with an earlier interview where the devs explained that Red XIII has two sets of voice lines for most sidequests in the remake, depending on whether it's being done before or after Cosmo Canyon. So far 7R is following similar footsteps.
The first "remake" chapter is mostly the same with new dialogue and interactions that would be normal even for a "pure" remake. But they also added a lot of little things suggesting it's more of a sequel.
Then the "second" chapter still seems mostly the same as you go through Junon and other events while also even more that's a new thing going on.
Bet they'll similarly go more apeshit in the third or final game.
