I loved FFTA. Frick, I hundred-percented it. But it's objectively a much worse game: the AI is absolutely pathetic; the enemies are totally neutered in their stats, equipment, classes, and move capabilities compared to its predecessor; your characters are stupidly easy to overpower, even by the standards of a series that gave you fricking Thunder God Cid as a party member in the previous installment; and there's never really a good explanation why Marche feels he has to go back home. He has a great life there. So do all his friends. And there's no established downside to staying in Ivalice.
Frick, there's a reason why the Pevensies stayed in Narnia after Aslan slew the White Witch. Their lives sucked back home, too. A frick of a lot worse than Marche and Co. Their hometown was getting bombed every fricking day by the jerries and they had no way of knowing things wouldn't get worse. They came back home by accident. That makes a frick of a lot more sense than FFTA's story.
They should've just copied that, and made the main conflict over something else.
They probably just liked how easy it was to get overpowered. Especially seeing as how they played it when thry were in grade school. It's pretty and has nice music, too.
old psp translation is the first
new psp is the second
Both have their flaws, ps1 has many weird typos, names being wrong and the script struggles to make sense at times
psp often softer on cool one lines from the ps1 era and can be overly flowery. Both don't do proper justice to the japanese script but it's not too bad.
Blame yourself, or God.
VS
Tis your birth and faith that betrays you, not I
The WotL version makes 100% sense in context since they re-framed the scene entirely.
Delita is talking to Agrias in the PS1 original. Agrias shouts at him to stop, and Delita replies.
Delita is talking to Ovelia immediately after punching her in the gut in the remake. Agrias and Ramza only enter the building AFTER Delita has spoken the iconic line and started leaving.
morons who try to complain about this being a localization issue are being fooled into taking your shitty screencaps at face value alone, and it is clear that they played neither game to have an actual informed opinion on the subject.
Frick you, secondary. You don't even speak Japanese. Delita talks like a tough in the original Japanese game because he was born in a gutter. have a nice day, MILLENNIAL homosexual.
>>騎士アグリアス >>「ま、待てッ!! > >>ゴルターナ軍騎士(ディリータ) >>「悪いな…。恨むなら自分か神様にしてくれ。 > >"Too bad. If you want to blame someone, blame yourself or God." > >Once again, western "translators" are not human beings.
So the ps1 translation is better or what are you implying?
>So the ps1 translation is better or what are you implying?
People are mad because their meme lines from the PS1 version didn't make it into the PSP re-release.
People are mad because they failed highschool English class and couldn't comprehend the antiquated Shakespearian style of the writing.
The PSP version is better overall in terms of translation and English prose. The game was re-imagined as though it had come out in English to begin with, and not treated as much like a translation.
>defeat Dycedarg's older brother! >Clops >l i t t l e m o n e y
nah
But they should patch back the pre-casting sentences (which were removed in EN version because of slowdown frickery, which modders fixed anyway)
The original FFT translation was fricking trash. Almost all the Square translations were exceptionally bad to the point where no serious studio would deign release something of that low a quality today. You just looked past it cause you played it when you were eleven.
Maybe I'm autistic but I'm unable to play anything on my phone. Something about not having any tactile buttons really ruins video gaming for me. I need to physically be pressing something, not just tapping on a screen.
I know I can get those weird ass controller cases for my phone but at that point I'd rather just play on a steam deck, a vita / 3ds or some other chinese handheld shit.
You're very similar to me. Only thing i can play is pokemon because i can drop it at any time and go do something else and it has like minimal button presses.
Never get the appeal of this game. The combat is slow as frick, grinding for skill take forever and if your level is high then random battles become a pain in the ass not to mention all that missable contents
FFTactics actually sucks. Tactics ogre and triangle strategy both curbstomp it. FFTacticsgays always praise their “deep” political story that just ends up being kill god like every other FF game. You’re blinded by nostalgia. Oh, and XVI is also better.
If (when) FFT gets ported to PC it needs something to make it a better experience than just emulating it. Best case scenario they flesh out Delita's part of the story more like Matsuno wanted. Or it happens that the game becomes easier to mod for PC (doubtful since the PS1 version has years worth of modding support).
It will probably get remake akin to TO - voiceacting, rerecorded music, maybe some gameplay balance.
I doubt SE would want to invest more money. Just look at how cheap pixel remasters are.
TOR was hardly an upgrade or an update.
All sorts of weird stuff going on in that version yet they charged 60 bucks for it.
I just don't see any sort of similar remaster bringing anything to the table, unless someone has a good and clear vision for it.
I don't know, I think Reborn is the best version of TO, but I know it's...contentious. I didn't mind shelling out 60 euroshekels for deluxe edition with OST.
I remember using cheat CDs on the PS1 and typing up hundreds of lines of numbers to create custom characters, like starting the game with Elmdor or having the dancers bracelet. Oh and team mate Velius of course.
FFTA has a lot of unfinished content. You can practically see the seams fly out after the Marquis Elmdore fight, and even that still felt rushed compared to the Weigraf Arc given how flat his character is in comparison. The Dycedarg Arc follows right after, and it's almost as cut as Star Fox Adventures.
Still, it's a really long game. In retrospect, they probably should've just combined the Dycedarg and Elmdore characters.
And the whole demonic-posession-completely-replaces-their-personality thing really undercuts a lot of dramatic weight, on top of being enirely needless for the story. It really should be redacted. There's no reason they can't just be voluntarily corrupted thralls.
And the whole Scriptures of Germonique plotline falls flat, too, and could also easily be fixed. Why should we care that St. Ajora was actually a spy against some dead empire we've never heard of? Shouldn't the Scripture instead be about he -- she? -- is actually a demon with a thirst for human sacrifice that secretly controls a group of followers responsible for all wars in the world?
>Original, Japanese game: "Blame yourself, or God."
>Pear-shaped millennial translator with pink hair: "Hark, thou wretched miscreant, and hearken to my words! It is not I who betrays thee, but the very essence of thy being that conspires against thee. Thy birth, a vile and profane act that befouled the cosmic tapestry, and thy faith, a misguided and benighted superstition that blinds thee to the truth of existence. These are the chains that bind thee, and from them thou shalt never escape.
>Even as I speak, the forces of darkness gather around thee, drawn to the fetid miasma of thy sin. They hunger for thy soul, and they will not be denied. Thy birth and thy faith have marked thee for their own, and there is no power in heaven or on earth that can save thee.
>But weep not, thou fool! For thy suffering is but the beginning. In the afterlife, thou shalt be tormented for all eternity, thy soul consumed by the fires of hell. Thy birth and thy faith shall be thy undoing, and thy name shall be cursed for all time.
>So tremble, thou wretched miscreant! Tremble at the fate that awaits thee. For thy birth and thy faith have betrayed thee, and there is no salvation for thee."
ps1 has the better sound effects and no slowdown
(you can mod most of the extra psp content in and even the new translation if you like)
psp has pretty cutscenes and some extra events
(you can fix the slowdown with a mod)
I prefer the ps1 version because the sound effects are irreplaceable. It's more involved finding the mods to tweak it as you like.
PSP version comes out of the box pretty neat only needing a slowdown fix patch.
Konami could easily sell SotN to half of the steam users, but for some godforsaken reason chooses not to, they are so desperate that suikoden 1/2 is getting a remaster and still no SotN.
Is the FFT version in phone the PSP version or PS1? But now i remember the spellcasting is fricked either way.....
I wish Konami ported Dracula X Chronicles to Steam, including that version of SotN.
Rondo of Blood is already in the Advance Collection. For some reason.
I’ve never played a tactics jrpg before, but I’ve played Divinity Original Sin 2 before and I really enjoyed the combat. Different genres I know, but would it scratch the same itch?
>try to ripoff game of thrones badly >still end up fighting a god with power of friendship
What exactly ails the SE executives? What kind of brainrot do they have?
This game is actually coming next year to consoles first with graphical & gameplay improvements*, museum-specific mode with unlockables, rearranged soundtrack (toggle), physical collector's edition and a concert is planned to celebrate its launch.
*Improvements subjective based on personal preference.
ports are so hecking kino! I mean sure I could play this on PC or switch right now if I wanted to, but playing games is for losers. I just want to throw money at something.
You mean FFTA
And with extra content
ah yes, baby's first tactics
why do people love that one so much
It's got a moronic kid in it, so they relate to him.
Obsessed. Also Tactics Ogre's story is boring.
>Obsessed. Also Tactics Ogre's story is boring.
So is FFT's
It's the better game
it's zoomer tactics

100 times until you understand it's real message.
you answered your own question
They probably just liked how easy it was to get overpowered. Especially seeing as how they played it when thry were in grade school. It's pretty and has nice music, too.
>Black person said ffta
i hope your parents are dead.
The fact that all it takes to get a thread to bump limit on Ganker is to post pic related is a testament to how good FFTA is.
Yeah, they should. And it should be the original instead of the gay pseud re-translation.
Blame yourself, or God.

WotL is the superior script. It and its dub was so good, they even released the game twice in Japan with it.
Wich one is wich?

There are old and new translations for the PSP game? what?
Sorry i mistyped, the first psp is supposed to be ps1
FFTA sucked dick

I just wish they remastered it like the recent tactics ogre game. I've already played fft dozens of times.
Zalbaag shitting on Ramza for his heritage because he warned him about about his brother was fricked up.
Just play FFT: The Lion War.
Never get the appeal of this game. The combat is slow as frick, grinding for skill take forever and if your level is high then random battles become a pain in the ass not to mention all that missable contents
Might as well play Disgaea instead
it's certainty not for zoomers. check out FFXVI, it's action packed!

they sound like they're the same with mods
I'll probably emulate and mod the ps1 version since Duckstation is really robust, one of my favorite emulators
I prefer the ps1 version because the sound effects are irreplaceable. It's more involved finding the mods to tweak it as you like.
PSP version comes out of the box pretty neat only needing a slowdown fix patch.
Can the ps1 version be modded for 16:9 aspect ratio?
Not sure, i want to say no?
PS1. Don't listen to any homosexual that says otherwise.
PSP. Don't listen to any homosexual that says otherwise.
PSP with a patch that changes the script to the original and not that olde english shit
i just like the psp emualtor a lot more than ps ones
It boggles my mind how FFT and SotN are on fricking mobile and not on pc.
SOTN is the biggest offender. That game should've been ported as many times as RE4 was if Konami had any sense
Konami could easily sell SotN to half of the steam users, but for some godforsaken reason chooses not to, they are so desperate that suikoden 1/2 is getting a remaster and still no SotN.

fft is very good game. especially psp version
tactics ogre is slow and boring game
I'm starting my first playthrough on my Vita. Choosed the PSP version with the spanish patch
What a madlad, have fun.
Do (you) think we will ever get another FFT?
I wouldn't want to waste Matsuno on more FFslop
What we need isn't another FFT.
What we need is another FFXII.
Best i can do is another Devil may fantasy.
>try to ripoff game of thrones badly

Hoshigami is the best tactics game you plebs
>Rape.Gauge
what the frick
hoshigami is hardcore
your party members can gangrape an enemy
not even joking
i started replaying it in japanese yesterday. too bad the psp iso has slowdown. is there a fix somewhere
LMAO
