    >Why both games have rushed endings
TO doesn't have a rushed ending. In fact, there are up to three additional scenes depending on if you kept certain party members alive. I thought the epilogue did a good job providing a sendoff for Abuna (who was with me from the beginning) and the blind samurai guy, as well as a sendoff for Denam.

As for FFT, I do agree that it is unsatisfiying for the party to go through this harrowing experience where they have been defamed and they are being hunted down, and you kill the final boss and then don't get to see your party members doing well afterwards. You just get to see 2 seconds of what may or may not have been Ramza riding bye, but that's not really closure.

    >why they just don't let you frick your sister
Unfortunately few games let you do this. Fire Emblem Fates, Trails in the Sky, and Trails of Cold Steel, but that's it off the top of my head.

      >but that's not really closure.
You had closure since the first fricking text crawl. The player is informed up front by Durai that Ramza was the hero who stopped the Lion War. That he escapes from the cycle of violence that is western Ivalice is a reward.

TO is rushed tho. You don't get to kill the final boss, you get teleported at the last minute without explanation, many plot points get unexplained, you're forced to grind the last 20 levels, there's no dialog at the end, romance never happens, antagonists never get closure. Is basically a cliffhanger.

        >romance never happens
Sheri (or Olivia, one of the three sisters who yanked Denam out of the pool when he was drowning as a kid) goes after Denam in the ending.

That's nothing concrete. Especially for a character that appears almost at the end of the game. Romancing Catiua made more sense.

      >Trails in the Sky, and Trails of Cold Steel
Which would you recommend for a first timer to the 'Trails' series?

And which has the better sister?

        >And which has the better sister?
Play release order. Sky is a bit of a twist as the MC is the pseudo-incest sister, rather than the dude. The pseudo-incest sister in Cold Steel is the least interesting of the myriad waifus. Zero/Ao your brother's widow as an option and Kuro has the choice of your b***hy ex wife (correct option) and boring high school girl.

What I recommended in the other thread.

        >Trails in the Sky FC and the first two Trails of Cold Steel games are fantastic, particularly the first two CS games. The first few hours of FC are sluggish and the sidequests are shit and the combat is unrefined. CS1 was engaging from the get go and has very entertaining combat and character building, especially if you play on hard or nightmare difficulty. The Cold Steel sequels had issues and don't reach the same overall high standard of the first two CS games, but were enjoyable too. I did not enjoy the Trails in the Sky sequels or the new Kuro no Kiseki game as much, though again there was some fun to be had there. I found the Crossbell duology to be rather mediocre, though.
        >The series has pleasant characters, a unique early modern fantasy setting, cool mechas, kickass soundtracks, good aesthetics, and a comfy sense of community. Just don't go in expecting that the overarching storyline to have a satisfying payoff. The world war storyline was botched and the supervillain storyline hasn't gone anywhere since the second game. You have to enjoy the games for the aforementioned merits.
