Feelings regarding Advent Children?
Advent Children and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race.
Advent Children really was a terrible movie. I know everyone likes the fight scenes, which you should because they're good, but the writing not only makes any sense but set up problems that we're still dealing with 20 years later.

It really doesn't. The best and worst thing it did was explain why Jenova is still around after allegedly being vaporized by Holy. It's good because that means someone realized they should probably explain why Jenova and her dumbfrick children are still around and how she can influence the Lifestream to give everyone cancer. But this has a disastrous side effect because now they've just established that Jenova nor Sephiroth can EVER die. Jenova doesn't diffuse into the Lifestream when killed and The Reunion ensures she'll always resurrect. It's not canonical that Holy does not work against her. Sephiroth will never, ever go away. And now that Remake has introduced fricking time travel and Sephiroth has declared that he will never be a memory ALL OF CAUSALITY now revolves around fighting this one butthole in FF7 sequels that will never fricking end.
Something I still don't get after playing the original and the Remake is how the frick anyone could dig this abomination up and think it was an Ancient. The Rebirth demo even has Sephiroth reading off a passage about how she was smiling serenely or something like that. Was she just a freaky looking chalk white woman when they found her? I know the helmet thing is some kind of lab equipment, probably put on when they cut her brain open, that much makes sense. But what about the giant heart and all the tubes and other stuff? Well Sephiroth failed in more ways than one. The purpose of Sephiroth was to make a human with the abilities of the Cetra. Chiefly their ability to speak with the Planet. Remember Midgar was supposed to be a stepping stone. The true prize was supposed to be Neo-Midgar, built atop The Promised Land and its infinite Mako supply. But no one knows how to get to the Promised Land, only the Cetra.
Imagine going to church and reaching the part of the Bible that describes Heaven as having streets of gold. And rather than taking that as motivation for sanctification and dedication to the Christian faith instead you decide to try and find Jesus's body. So you can dig it up and clone a person with the powers of the Son of God, so he can infiltrate Heaven to tell the military where it is, so they can invade and take all the gold.
Sephiroth becoming the perfect SOLDIER was a happy accident. He was supposed to be able to hear the voices of the Planet. Dr. Gast and Hojo just didn't know at the time that they'd dug up the enemy of the Cetra and then revived her in Sephiroth.
There's just no way Sephiroth didn't see Ifalna and Young Aerith considering how much time he spent around Hojo as a kid

Squaresoft wanted Spirits Within to set the stage for digital actors but that crashed and burned and to save themselves they merged with their rival Enix. And with that came Square-Enix's obsession with making sequels for numbered entries.
Final Fantasy X-2 was bad. But it wasn't as bad as I remembered it being. I had fun with it and I was semi invested in the world in it. But Nojima wanted the world of Spira to be tragic. So he wrote FFX-2.5 that would immediately destroy any goodwill anyone had for Spira.
Remember how we did all of FFX to get the Fayth to stop dreaming which had the side effect of killing Tidus? And then we retconned that in X-2 to give Yuna a happy ending. Yeah Tidus fricking dies again in 2.5. He kicks a ball he thinks is a Blitzball but is actually a bomb and his head lands on Yuna's lap. Yuna goes on adventure with a ghost where he tells her Fayth are made by fricking dead bodies, no really. Yuna realizes summoning is just controlling Pyreflies, similar to Yu Yevon, which she uses to recreate Tidus, so he's revived AGAIN. Now there's 3 Clouds the church scene makes more sense. I think the events are something like this:
Aerith dies at the Forgotten Capital. Aerith wakes up with Zack. Cloud1 and team fight Sephiroth and win.
Sephiroth possesses comatose Cloud2, but Zack and Aerith2 already moved due to Marlene's warning about a scary man. Cloud3 secretly survived the expressway tornado and made his way back to the Church where Aerith2 gives him Holy. Sephiroth possessing Cloud2 also made his way to the Church and slashes Zack, he's looking for Aerith2 and Cloud3 to finish the job. Cloud3 equips Holy in the Buster Sword and he and Zack team up to stop Sephiroth killing Aerith2.
