Good.
Maybe eating shit will go back in fashion again in our lifetimes.
>hates ff13
go back troony
>deserves
this game was endlessly shit on for being a literal hallway simulator
I, for one, thank FF13 for killing Final Fantasy and the entire JRPG genre as a whole.
The moment that shit hit stores is the moment the franchise was irreparably broken and the entire genre stopped being seen as legitimate.
why do you hate fun so much
>hallway simulator
>no NPCs
>no townz
>crystarium is so linear and choiceless that it may as well have just been automated
>plot and necessary lore buried in the analects rather than presented in the actual story
>even after the game "opens up" on gran pulse and you unlock all the characters and roles, it's still just press autobattle to win
The cast is alright though except maybe for Lightning. Vanille should have been the main character like they originally intended. Also "Blinded by Light" is the best battle theme in the series.
Sure you hit auto battle like you would just hit "attack" in every other FF. The strategy was shifting your load outs in combat. Please show me once instance of someone getting 5 stars on anything once the game opens up without shifting and only mashing auto battle. I'll wait.
>star rating system
Ring the bell and get your cheese, man.
>good boy star system
Whom cares?
Outside of the tortoises and a few other tough enemies, all you need are a few basic paradigms to shift through. There's really not much strategy to it.
I think the worst part is that the plot isn't even that good and usually nonsensical. More than that all the characters are fricking terrible (outside Sazh). None of them go through any character arc or any change over the course of the story, they just bulldoze through the plot being as moronic as they were at the start of the game.
They do but it all just feels flat and unearned. Like a switch flicking rather than seeing it unfold during the character's time together.
I haven't played the game since it came out but reading this thread it's all starting to come back to me now. How shit like that gets through the testing stage is laughable. The worst sin a game can make is having no respect for the player's time.
>crystarium is so linear and choiceless that it may as well have just been automated
You forgot that not only is this true but YOU HAVE TO HOLD DOWN THE BUTTON FOR EACH LEVEL TO GET IT TO PROGRESS FOR NO FRICKING REASON.
>majority of the game is spent WITHOUT a full party
>every time there's a new "chapter" or some character wanders off your paradigms ALL GET RESET so you have to SET THEM ALL UP AGAIN
>the "sidequests" are literally just "walk back up this hallway you just came down for the story, re-fighting the same enemies in the same spots"
The game is LITERALLY DELIBERATELY WASTING YOUR TIME TO PAD OUT HOW MUCH OF A LOW EFFORT SHITFEST IS
FRICK I HATE THIS DOGSHIT GAME
Some of my funniest parts of the game are where they just give up writing a story and just have the characters dick around for no reason.
>sir what are Vanille and Sazh doing at this point in the story
>literally wandering around aimlessly
Was always good
If they updated 13 with 13-2s snappier version of combat it would be a classic.
Combat is just too slow.
Sounds like you didn’t learn how to correctly do Paradigms shifts.
i hate zoomers so much it's unreal.
i'm older than you and i like ff13
now what zoomoid
i bet you also like RE7
can't account for lack of taste
i don't like resident evil
I like the battle system a lot but it doesn't make the rest of the game not shit.
battle system is literally all that matters
and lightnings armpits
The music is awesome though.
I unironically liked Snow.
I liked him because his voice actor was one of the main characters in GW2's main story at the time. Forgot his name.
Real heroes don't need plans
>digital foundry
do these dudes actually play games?
Why people choose to defend the dogshit combat, I'll never understand. You just pick auto-battle and occasionally switch paradigms at obvious times. It puts me to fricking sleep. This mobile-tier combat "strategy" will carry you through the entire game EASILY.
>e-erm w-well actually the open w-world optional bosses are ermmm quite difficult you see heheh
Oh yeah. I forgot those. You really have to expand your brain to win those fights. Practically impossible.
>open buffs/debuffs
>click auto-battle
>occasionally switch paradigms or refresh buffs/debuffs
>win
Truly the thinking man's game, and the pinnacle of difficult combat.
>This mobile-tier combat "strategy" will carry you through the entire game EASILY.
This is an insult to mobile games because I've played autobattler mobile games where building teams to complete certain dungeons is 1000000x more fun than anything in this fricking awful game.
>In my original review back in 2010, I quoted Confucius: "Better a diamond with a flaw than a pebble without." This has always fit FF13 perfectly; but as time passes, it feels like it shines ever brighter. It continues to age well - which in many ways is the true test of brilliance.
Actually disgusting.
>they like ff7r but hate xiii
if only square enix cultists had brains
ff13 is actually pretty fun if you just don't do any kind of farming and try to clear on as few battles as possible.
some of the harder fights require legit strategy and it makes paradigm shifting correctly a must.
>don't do farming
>nearly every area is a straight corridor with a preset amount of enemies
We are reaching Dark Souls level of copium where to make the game fun and interesting, I have to basically make my own challenge.
you can easily skip like 99% of the regular battles and it makes the game way more interesting to play
>t. never play 13-2
If only they improved on its active battle system. It was a good compromise between turn based and action style. It still has a lot of potential and room for innovation.
What the hell is happening? Are we being raided?
Ff cycle
i saw the rpgsite post
came here
and made a post about ff13 because i like it
perhaps other people did the same thing
I don't think FF13 deserves even the tiniest shred of "respect". That said, I do like Lightning Returns and I remember enjoying 13-2 somewhat.
Yeah, the sequels being good doesn't make XIII any less bad. In fact it makes it worse by comparison.
Ahh, the classic "Latest x is even worse so previous shitty x is better now". Many such cases.
You gays always claim this game is shit but what games do you even enjoy? No you can't say some obscure shit from 20 years ago. If the last game you enjoyed came out 20 years ago you aren't even a gamer anymore. You're just a bitter homosexual.
