Yeah that is odd. Also weird how the devs said the game will get new content for up to 5 years after launch, so why make a complete edition when it hasn't even been one year? (if that's the case)
Really, it's missing the adventure part and that's what that opening displays so gloriously. The game takes so much time to build up to everyone arriving and meeting on Pulse and by the time it happens, there's very little core story left before the final push to the end. Pulse is largely optional content and doesn't do anything besides drop background lore. I understand the nature of Pulse means the party is isolated but you can still tell a good story with that. It might even be worth rewriting it so there actually are some people you can meet on Pulse to help keep the story there longer.
The series has cool lore and settings but the first game in particular did so little with it.
Wasn't there a Ganker leak which detailed some sort of anniversary stream on Feb. 7th? I think the leak called the FFT Remake/Remaster "Stories of Ivalice" or something.
I do wonder how finished or not VS13 was at the time of its cancellation. I'd still buy that shit today if it was just released untouched from its PS3-era visuals.
Will OG FF13 get the same treatment as FF12 Zodiac that fix the gameplay?
>No HP replenish after battle >Make item not useless >Make Eidolons more useful for staggering >Make upgrading weapons less grinding >Shorter animation when Paradigm Shift >No game over when leader dies >Every character have access to all role from the start >Add fast travel in Gran Pulse >Add Hard mode >Add Titan as optional boss fight
Wasn't XII Zodiac Age just a port of the International IZJS version on PS2? They didn't do any extra real work on it beside adding speedup mode and the like for the modern port. I wouldn't expect anything substantial, just the ability to run at higher resolutions and 60fps (unlocked framerate is probably too much to ask), and AI-upscaled textures. Also maybe cutting some of the vocal songs due to licensing issues because of course they would.
>They add an option to reset jobs in ZA
It was added post-release (when the late Xbox/Switch ports happened, then it was another year for that to get backported to the PS4/Steam versions), so I wouldn't blame him for not knowing.
based if true, the trilogy was fun. XIII is a boring intro to it so it would be even more based if they can figure out some additions to make it more fun
XIII-2 is kino, only gripe i had was that it was a bit too easy, especially the final boss but other than that it's one of my favorites in the series
You should only use half of the Crystogen points you get to keep it slightly balanced. >especially the final boss
Technically it's one of the three bosses in the series you can't prepare a 100% win chance for. The other two being Ozma and Chac. Even if exceedingly unlikely to occur due to the Bahamut revival cycle, Dying Sun into immediate Exaflare can kill you through Tortoise.
Orphan is much worse for that because it can cast death on your party leader. Absolutely nothing stopping a random gameover unless you max out death resistance
No, you will always kill Orphan when you know what you're doing. Those three are the only bosses that can kill you even if you know what you're doing and prepare flawlessly.
>X
PS2 International >XII
dunno never played, but i'd guess either PS2 ZJS or the new TZA. from the little research i did people said the new one ruined the difficulty while adding quality of life
And it was shit, unfortunately. Every fight goes on a few minutes too long because all the bosses have a bloated health pool leading to mechanics being reused, the Drakengard references go nowhere, and you have to complete six weekly quests just for that weak non-ending. Visually it was a treat, to be fair.

Most bosses are downed before they run out of mechanics and enter the loop.
Unless your raid is shit and people die too much.
How about just simple affordable ports of old games to current platforms? Shit was nice when Killer7 came to Steam out of the blue and they knew better than to frick with the graphics to slap a "Remastered" tag on it.
the XIII games were already ported
and they crashed and lagged without community fixes
bundling them all together and fixing them you might aswell also touch them up a bit maybe add a thing or two
i bought TZA but haven't played yet and i do plan on playing ToM aswell
the Kingdom Hearts remasters were ok too (after many patches and PS4 onwards)
but besides that they fricked up one after the other, it's just sad

I like how the PS3 version of the KH ports were near flawless, and then they aimed for 60fps with the PS4 versions and all hell broke loose with ancient spaghetti PS2 programming.

the main issue on PS3 were horrible load times for both screen transitions, file loads aswell as drive form transitions, summons, links etc. the PS3 versions are the worst versions just for that. the worst things got fixed on PS4/PC by now, so while they're still not perfect they're definitely good enough to enjoy the games

For whatever reason the PS3 version ran entirely off of the disc, which it's BD-ROM drive is notoriously slow for file seeking on. That was fixed on PS4 solely because that console mandates full image dumps to the hard drive.
Paradigm system is shit because of stacking role buffs. There's literally no reason to create mixed paradigms once you can unlock every role on everyone.
it was on the nvidia leak which was pretty accurate for square stuff
nothing official yet though
9 would be a low budget remake while 8 could benefit from FF7R treatment
It's funny because out of all FF's, VIII is the one that would benefit most from a remake where they can actually finish the game, especially Disc 3.
The rumors are though that Sakaguchi himself is involved as FF IX was his favorite. Sakaguchi has been pretty close to CBU3 people like Yoshida for the past few years, and half the original FF IX staff is still part of CBU3.
Personally though I think the project fell through and was cancelled. We know a Remake was planned, they licensed a tie-in animated series to a French studio. The pitch bible for that got leaked a few months ago and it reeked of "this shit got cancelled and an angry artist/writer leaked it".
the space stuff in VIII could be kino
i felt like the romance in VIII was cringe and didn't work nearly as well as it did in X, but with higher fidelity and more emotion in their faces and good voice acting while fixing the script it could be really good. also loved all the complex systems in VIII and the only gripe was that the menuing was slow and tedious, keeping the systems intact while making it much easier to menu and save loadouts would be cool. oh well
Also fillers here could make sense for characters like Seifer, Fujin, Raijin etc
Balamb garden works better for missions than Midgard
That leslie mission in FF7R was so awful I hope Leslie's girlfriend is fricking Hojo in Rebirth
While I don't like how Squall looks I would be okay with Remastered models.
Also with AI companies shouldn't have excuses to make backgrounds low quality anymore
Render it in real time and give it a guided camera, I wonder why no studio wants to do this, people seemed to like that Xenosaga webm, even on Switch that could look amazing.
literally no one, NO ONE asked for this, holy shit square is so fricking moronic, i hope flopspoken makes everyone except yoship kill themselves in the executive board
>Dying Light 2
Why is that on there, isn't this like some kinda upcoming releases list? Complete edition maybe?
odd that it wouldnt have PS5 and sx listed
Yeah that is odd. Also weird how the devs said the game will get new content for up to 5 years after launch, so why make a complete edition when it hasn't even been one year? (if that's the case)
Sx has good upgrades for XIII
13 trilogy is in pc yeah but the ports are broken and need mods for those to work well.
As for ps5 and sx I guess maybe in the future?
kys setroony
bruh
XIII needs a whole remake not just a remaster
Yeah, they should make it look closer to the opening cinematic:
Really, it's missing the adventure part and that's what that opening displays so gloriously. The game takes so much time to build up to everyone arriving and meeting on Pulse and by the time it happens, there's very little core story left before the final push to the end. >why make games when morons will pay $70 for low effort upgrades of old games?
Good, 13-2 and LR were pretty fun but the pc ports are awful
>PC
Wat?
What happened to the FF9R and FFTR? Or are these just for announced games (and 13 got accidentally leaked)
>What happened to the FF9R and FFTR? Or are these just for announced games (and 13 got accidentally leaked)
They were never officially announced.
frick off toriyama-san nobody cares about claire
>remaster
It already got a remaster for free if you play it on the series x.
YES PLEASE
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
this homie saving thumbnails
I do this a lot more than I realise it would seem.
I miss Toriyama autistic waifugayging
I want a XIII-4
Replace lighting with sethiroth and you have 7 remake
Basically XIII-2
Isn’t FFXIII already on pc? If it said PS5 then a remaster would be more likely since it can’t play the game
Dogshit port
Might be the same thing they did with nier gamepass and updated it for the steam version
Where is the FF:Tactics remake?
Not announced yet. That one and the supposed remake of 9 may be announced next month
Wasn't there a Ganker leak which detailed some sort of anniversary stream on Feb. 7th? I think the leak called the FFT Remake/Remaster "Stories of Ivalice" or something.
Could this be a sing that they will finally make VERSUS XIII?
Yes. Verum Rex is the hint.
Too bad Nomura is forced working on more Sora shit
Versus XV
I do wonder how finished or not VS13 was at the time of its cancellation. I'd still buy that shit today if it was just released untouched from its PS3-era visuals.

They add an option to reset jobs in ZA, in IZJS you stuck with what you choose for the rest of game
>They add an option to reset jobs in ZA
It was added post-release (when the late Xbox/Switch ports happened, then it was another year for that to get backported to the PS4/Steam versions), so I wouldn't blame him for not knowing.
You forgot about XIII-2 and LR. XIII-2 desperately needs a hard mode and hell mode difficulty. Lightning Returns could use an extreme difficulty too
Can't wait to see this sumptuous woman in glorious modern graphics
>Literally negative ass
>zero ass.
>skinny as frick legs and hips
>average breasts.
Man Lightning's body is fricking trash, her only saving grace is her cool Cloud-ripoff face. That's basically all.
>still runs at 30fps
>XIII remaster before an VIII or IX remake
Burn squeenix to the ground
Did the improvements on the MS Store versions of XIII trilogy hit the Steam version? It might just be that.
No they haven't hit steam, so it probably is just those updates
Are they intentionally killing their business? Who the hell wanted this
it better be on switch otherwise I'm not playing that slop
based if true, the trilogy was fun. XIII is a boring intro to it so it would be even more based if they can figure out some additions to make it more fun
XIII-2 is kino, only gripe i had was that it was a bit too easy, especially the final boss but other than that it's one of my favorites in the series

What is the best version of X and XII?
>X
PS2 International

dunno never played, but i'd guess either PS2 ZJS or the new TZA. from the little research i did people said the new one ruined the difficulty while adding quality of life
Difficulty wasn't modified at all in TZA other than changes that were part of IZJS on the PS2.
I am so fricking tired of remasters, bros. Especially of shit games.
what is the alternative? new shit games? squenix is done mate
5 months until redemption.
that's not a new NieR game
New NiER game was a raid series in FFXIV.
and it was peak videogame kino
however that was years ago and i need a new nier game
And it was shit, unfortunately. Every fight goes on a few minutes too long because all the bosses have a bloated health pool leading to mechanics being reused, the Drakengard references go nowhere, and you have to complete six weekly quests just for that weak non-ending. Visually it was a treat, to be fair.
Most bosses are downed before they run out of mechanics and enter the loop.
Unless your raid is shit and people die too much.
>one of the best raids
>actually canon to nier
>horrible weird plot
>theres now a lalafell stuck in the nier universe
ayylmao
hope she can get that shrapnel in her face taken care of
>nier
>best raid
lmfao
How about just simple affordable ports of old games to current platforms? Shit was nice when Killer7 came to Steam out of the blue and they knew better than to frick with the graphics to slap a "Remastered" tag on it.
the XIII games were already ported

bundling them all together and fixing them you might aswell also touch them up a bit maybe add a thing or two
Bad ports exist, and so do bad remasters.
and squenix just happens to be the king of both
TZA and Trials of Mana remake were quite alright.
i bought TZA but haven't played yet and i do plan on playing ToM aswell
the Kingdom Hearts remasters were ok too (after many patches and PS4 onwards)
but besides that they fricked up one after the other, it's just sad

>Xiv
Wait there're bring back the MMO for PS3?
XIII aka the ultimate hallway simulator.
smells like a shitty buggy PC port
XIII re release could bring back some fun classic Ganker shitposting tbh, it was really fun here back when that game was first out.
13-2 and Lightning Returns are unironically good
Even 13 combat is great wasted in a shitty game
Paradigm system is shit because of stacking role buffs. There's literally no reason to create mixed paradigms once you can unlock every role on everyone.
god I wish square israelitenix will get kyoani'd one day
no switch port no buy
>ffvii rebirth
>next winter
surely this means the beginning of 2024...right?
They're probably going to rush this one to be out by holidays 2023 because there doesn't look to be any competition.
XIII & XV actually need remakes since those games are shit
And XII. Imagine XII with proper ATB and difficulty not built around braindead auto battling.
Shame you can't fix shit characters and story, though .
>XV
Squareenix wont allow Nomura to make his Versus XIII
XV just needs to be removed from history
give us Versus
What does anyone see in Lightning? Didn't play this game because she seemed like the most boring, bland, block of wood character ever.
He's actually a pretty good writer so it's hilarious that his game's story and characters sucked
When is ff9 remaster happening?
it already did years ago. as for the remake, no one outside of square knows
They're doing a remake like they did with 7? Why skip 8?
it was on the nvidia leak which was pretty accurate for square stuff
nothing official yet though

The animation could have been cancelled not the game
Remember ff7r was made by a different team, canned it and started over it again
FF9 doesnt even need a full remake, just a ccr remake like
>The animation could have been cancelled not the game
The pitch looked okay though. The art at least was good.
the space stuff in VIII could be kino
i felt like the romance in VIII was cringe and didn't work nearly as well as it did in X, but with higher fidelity and more emotion in their faces and good voice acting while fixing the script it could be really good. also loved all the complex systems in VIII and the only gripe was that the menuing was slow and tedious, keeping the systems intact while making it much easier to menu and save loadouts would be cool. oh well

Balamb garden works better for missions than Midgard
That leslie mission in FF7R was so awful I hope Leslie's girlfriend is fricking Hojo in Rebirth
They'd have to redesign the system from the ground up. Nobody would excuse level scaling and Junction in this day and age.
Please be true.
Made for Big Hope wiener
>Remastering a game with high resolution textures
Free cameras don't work with ff9. Hope it's just graphics and faster combat
I already know I'll never forgive them if they make Garnet's ass flat.
While I don't like how Squall looks I would be okay with Remastered models.
Also with AI companies shouldn't have excuses to make backgrounds low quality anymore
There's no point for them to do a basic "remaster" of FF IX when the Steam version and Moguri mod already exist.
They can touch up the combat
They'd need to manually touch up basically the whole game, there are still scenes where npcs were rendered as part of the background.
Render it in real time and give it a guided camera, I wonder why no studio wants to do this, people seemed to like that Xenosaga webm, even on Switch that could look amazing.
After Forspoken I can see SE fully damage control with FF9R announcement
the best way to play XIII is to use a trainer to skip all the combat
Still have it on my 360, was actually feeling like playing through it again recently, I never played Lightning returns though.
They REALLY need to drop the roman numerals god damn
Dumbest thing I read on Ganker all day.
Armpits toblerone doo doo-doo de-doo doo
Lightning x Hope was based
Frick off Toriyama
Raitoningu berongs to me
literally no one, NO ONE asked for this, holy shit square is so fricking moronic, i hope flopspoken makes everyone except yoship kill themselves in the executive board
