Why the frick would you remove tank stance of all things?
Name just 1 (ONE (A SINGLE)) situation where a TANK shouldn't be TANKing
When you're doing a tankswap and don't want to accidentally grab aggro from the other tank.

When we had "aggro management" it was the DPS doing management of their own aggro after tanks establish hate with an aggro combo, and only raised their own hate if strictly necessary (typically only: when DPS were slacking on keeping their aggro management in check)

Not really, no. Like, yes, it's "aggro management" in the strictest sense of the term, but it's clearly not what anybody is actually intending when they say "tanks should manage aggro." Ninja managed aggro more than tanks did for pretty much all time before tank stances were reduced in Shadowbringers.
Aggro management was a team effort but ultimately it was up to the tank to ensure that the enemy was looking at them by dropping their own damage and swapping to tank stance. Saying tanks didn't have aggro management is like saying healers don't have damage management because it's everyone's duty to not step in puddles.
The way dps jobs are now you can't simply pause your rotation to wait for tank to get aggro back. If they want to keep current system they need to keep the current aggro magnet to tank thing still. Imagine having to frick up your burst window because tank loses aggro. Dps players would lose their shit. Its been ingrained in dps players to just continuously pushing their rotation to build up for their next burst window. To bring back aggro management would require an overhaul of all jobs and their rotations which I'm unsure if squeenix can even be bothered with. As the game is now you just need to muscle memory your rotation so you can focus on dodging all the colors and mechanics in fights. Having current dps players thinking of more than one thing at a time would be catastrophic. I wouldn't mind aggro management but I'm just realistic about the current player base.
the suggestion isn’t to give dps their aggro tools back, but to put ALL aggro tools on tanks. like they would have cds that temporarily reduce aggro gain for non-tanks, ‘cover’ aggro for 10s for 1 player etc

Do you realize the game doesn't change whether you do the positionals or not do the positionals? You must be new but in Heavensward the combo would flat out fail if you missed the positional. People would STOP pressing buttons in order to land that positional.

Even in ShB you could have an impact on rotations, like SAM would get variable amount of Kenki on positionals.
I guess SE didn't like that sometimes you'd have a spender after the 16th GCD and sometimes you didn't. Everything about your rotation needs to be the same every pull or players will get confused

There are no rare or unique effects in gear or materia, there are no elemental or physical attributes, no weaknesses, no weak points, not even different move speeds, no different cast times, you don't even interact with the boss beyond enmity.

People quite literally cried that they couldn't optimize DPS because of the variance in DPS cooldowns. Well, there you go, now every job has a 2 minute cooldown DPS thingy. And this goes for EVERYTHING.
And Square enix, since they clearly have no vision or game designers, are just HAPPY to remove parts of the game instead of working on them or improving them.
People would rather get a new job that plays the exact same as the others than get talent trees for current jobs.
Final fantasy XIV copied WoW SO MUCH that now they're having their own accessibility crisis. They are losing the people that fell in love with the original design of the game because it's simply TOO accessible, and they're failing to capture new players because that game is so easy to learn and so easy to master that they don't stick around beyond the MSQ.
Positionals have been less and less impactful each expansion by lowering the amount required, lowering the bonus damage, and increasing True North stacks. That's how they always handle stuff they're removing soon. They simplify it until people ask "why is this even here? i don't even think about it!" TP went through the same journey.

RDM, BRD and DNC have random procs, but every other job can mapped into a timeline and automated for maximum efficiency

Jobs are extremely static, you always generate the same amount of resources in the same amount of time and the optimal skill to use at a given timestamp is always the same.
This is true for all jobs without cast times and random procs, since mechanics never force you out of uptime in EW. If you look at job rotations, this should be obvious

If you play the game as any melee job you would just know this intuitively. You always do the same things every pull if you know your rotation. There are no variables

No obviously the timelines for different fights are different, but once you've figured it out for that one fight, then that's it. Just put that shit into a bot and you're done
And to add, the timelines are only different if there's downtime, like Phoinix add phase, Hippokampos limit cut etc.
The bot would only work for the ideal 100% uptime timeline, and only if you get the exact same positions every time.
Because of how mechanics are randomized, you're often losing uptime when melee has to go out of range to deal with mechanics, and in recent tiers there isn't really an option to rework positions for uptime unless the party is explicitly trying to pad one person.

If being suboptimal is an okay standard then you can either ignore procs or just have a segment of the rotation dedicated to trying to dump them.

Yes, of course. That’s why Endwalker was the Garlean expansion and Dawntrail is about the Final Days, since post-ShB was about Fandaniel and the Telophoroi.
That's literally what their original plans were, yeah. 6.0 was supposed to be purely Garlemald and then lead into the Final Days for 7.0. But they condensed it. This isn't even an obscure bit of knowledge, Yoshida has talked about it several times.

I don’t doubt FFXIV has a much larger degree of planning than every other MMO when it comes to the story. Haters gonna hate but MSQ is THE reason a lot of people play it.
But so many things happen in 10+ years, developers come and go, new favorite characters show up, other business-related events happen, too.
So we can’t take past hints with the certainty they would have if it was the work of one or fewer writers.

So the result is that every piece of content just gets a tiny update every patch or every other patch. Everybody gets a little crum. Some of that content almost never gets updated , like BLU waiting 3 years for an update, or Rival Wings being abandonware at this point.
The devs want to cater to everyone and so nobody is satisfied because nobody ever gets enough. The game would unironically be better if it just focused on one or two things and poured 100% of the resources into that instead of spreading their resources razor thin accross so many different forms of content.

Elezen in the First must be pretty specist, in The Source the only instance of anti-human sentiment you see is the halfling in Heavensward and even there, it's mostly cuz she's a bastard than she's a halfbreed.
Elves used to be a nomadic race which made them easy targets for bullying by all the other people until the Shadowkeeper showed up. Shadowkeeper united them all, built Laxan for them, taught them to turn into werewolves, and then went about fricking up all the other countries as revenge. In a sense, they were kinda like the Garleans of Norvrandt. Bullied race strikes back and makes everything worse for everyone.

Use Anamnesis and turn yourself into a minion before fishing. Now you have no casting/hooking animations. If you do it right (like catch+SS+cast) it would be faster than waiting for a bite to fail. What it'll look like to toher plays is you're just going to the next animation, so be cautious, do it in a vacant area. You're welcome.

FF14 tickets sold out immediately, 15k NA fanfest, 5k london fanfest 30k tokyo fanfest, 15k Shanghai fanfest yet BlizzardCon tickets were still available for purchase from first sellers, not scalpers months after the tickets went on sale.

Dragonflight flopped and they realized this way too late. So the next retail expansion is gonna suffer the same fate. Nothing they can quickly rework and fix.
Their only hope is Classic and doing something interesting enough with it. Everyone has been asking for Classic+ since Blizzard started the Classic project and it's way more popular than retail WoW is. So the only way forward for them is doing something with that - But if they frick it up as well WoW is just gonna keep going down harder and harder.

So far i am spamming Prae cause it allows me to take a shit occasionally or watch stuff on youtube but i kinda wanna increase the pace so i got those last jobs ready for DT.
Heavensward dungeons (51,53,55,57,59)
Just do daily roulettes until you get 51 and then do the highest level dungeon available. Also do Frontline roulette.
Honestly anon there is no rush, my recommendation to you is to level 1 job at a time to 90 rather than all at once. If you're dead set on doing this then leveling roulette, pvp frontlines, main story roulette even day will get you 2-3 levels a day easily and you won't be burnt out from the game re-running prae.
Roulettes and then dungeon spam. If you're leveling dps jobs and have a squadron leveled up those are a little faster since you have no queue time and they're better than duty support.

I remember in vague lines the main beats of the expansions and the world but not much else.
new game + feature lets you replay the MSQ and any job quests or longer branching sidequests (like role quests) if you feel like it
Youtube I guess? There's a New Game+ function in the game itself so you can replay stuff you've already done, but then you'd just be replaying through all of it again. They added an in-game lore codex but you don't unlock it until after finishing EW.
Newgame+ or Youtube, plenty of videos recapping the story, characters and important quest lines, side quests, raids e.t.c.
I skipped all of the Manderville shit because I have no absolutely no interest in Hildebrand and it's fricking long, but I might look in on the story recap on Youtube someday.
But I completely understand why people were so pissed off about Relic being hidden behind Manderville quests after having done it myself, all of them to the very end and skipping.

Blizzcon was always WoWcon and not much else. Nobody went there for Diablo or Overwatch. The focus was always WoW. And with the interest beind at a lowpoint its no surprise that they can't sell those tickets. That and XIV just slept through the pandemic with Endwalker - no digital festival shit - so people still expected the next fanfests to happen as usual and thats just what we are getting now. Blizzgays meanwhile got used to no Blizzcon or potentially an entirely digital event.
You might want to actually look at Blizzcon, WoW is relegated to 1 hall of 4 and only 2/3rds of that. If WoW is so big, then got damn must Overwatch and Diablo be enormous as those both have a hall dedicated to them each.
