Both Criterion dungeons have come out on week 9 of their respective patches.
9*450 is 4050, a full tome set is around 5k tomes.
Most Criterion groups are usually locked to 10 ilvl below the cap (i.e. full tome gear), and by the time two more weeks have passed and you have enough tome, the dungeons are dead. So if you don't at least do some Savage, you will end up ilvl locked out of Criterion until it is too late.

I play somewhat sporadically and when I do I'm doing random old content most of the time so I pretty much always get ilvl locked out of MSQ. It hurts to shell out 5M+ on release day.

She's not wrong about the devs but her opinion on DSR is always funny to me when she was basically carried as hard as you can be without a pilot and then couldn't even get halfway through ToP.

I agree with the sentiment as it's probably my favorite as well but her experience is so skewed due clearing in almost 2 patches later with almost no one else new to the fight/auto markers. When she went into one fresh like the rest of us she quit on week 2.
She's not wrong though, even day 1 blind DSR is the best content the game has ever had and the most fun I've ever had with an ultimate. It blows TOP out of the water and is at worst on par with UCOB I'd say.

NTA. Most players in this game are really bad, dude. I don't really know how else to put it. I've gotten P12N in normal raids a few times this week, and each time there's like 10 deaths when there aren't even any mechanics in that fight other than 'do you have eyes'.
The other thing is the better you get at any skill, the worse you realize you really are. I can barse blue in legacy ults and hit purple every now and then, but that doesn't mean I'm good at the game, merely less bad than casual players. If you actually think they can increase the difficulty of normal content in this game without making it inaccessible to 90% of the playerbase, I would just point out that the average Aether LOTA run takes 20 minutes because half the raid is AFK. And there are still regular wipes to Ancient Flare.
The average "person" playing this game considers the Nier raids to be challenging.

WoW did in on Cataclism. The game increasing it's own skill ceiling pushed all the casual out of it and into FFXIV.
FFXIV isn't a game for harcore raiders that want to push they limits, it's a game for casuals that want to play dress up.

PLD's damage is better, actual playstyle isn't very different. No more physical/magical phases, FoF works on all damage sources. Divine Might makes your self-sustain better in mob packs and it's great to have Bulwark back + Divine Veil works the same as similar party shields or party buffs compared to other tanks' equivalents now
It's good, doesn't really shake up the job compared to how it played before.
People were shitting on it becuase the rework actually made PLD do LESS damage at first but they've since buffed it.
It's not terrible, it just plays like an easier gunbreaker now.
I found the old PLD to be pretty miserable so I don't mind the rework, but I already had other tanks to play and I'm sure some people liked the DOT upkeep and 0 real burst.

The job itself was fine and basically just as good as WAR at the time who had bloodbath removed and was made less flexible by the addition of inner release. WHM was never locked out of asphodelos and was considered great for P4S specifically since it could easily heal while moving without a cooldown. Old PLD had forced drift, new PLD literally never drifts. The only thing you can even "lose" in your burst is the slight gain of doing an extra holy spirit over an atonement/royal authority.
I've never understood why PLD is so fragile compared to the other tanks. Doesn't it have a permanently on passive mit from the shield or something like that?
It has the worst passive (RNG blocking 20% of an autoattack vs. guaranteed 300/250/200+200 potency heal/shield every combo). That's less of an issue now that holy spirit gives them a chunky heal though. The most fragile tank is GNB now but only during its burst.
gnb just seems fragile because they are the worst players of the tanks.
PLD used to have one less personal mitigation that's now alleviated with Bulwark. It also used to suffer from magical tankbusters since they couldn't be blocked, but that's also changed. They also had less self healing, but that's also changed with self healing in the burst.
In short, anyone saying they are squishy are just parroting about things said a few patches ago but it's no longer true

I've run into the same thing. People are far less social than I'd thought they'd be. That being said, I'm still enjoying the MSQ and all the other goodies the game has to offer.
XIV is not a social mmo unless you are a discord troony or a loser that goes to in-game night clubs. Woke cultists made sure to ruin the public space and SE has strict rules so basically everyone is just silent and walking on eggshells. Anytime you hear the meme about XIV having the greatest community they are only referring to their inner circle of redditor echo chamber clowns. In reality it's quite awful.
This game should only be played if you are interested in the story as a mainline numbered FF title. The online multiplayer is just a bonus.

Haukke Hard can filter people because the last boss insta-eats the last add and kills everyone but the tank. Depends on if there's a shield healer or if the tank knows to lb etc, but generally you almost need to barely touch her and wait for all the adds to spawn.
Just drop Criterions and add in Hard dungeons.

Yeah, more stuff like that would be great. It was an important part of the better dungeons in WoW. Polymorphing and sapping certain adds, rotating your interrupts to stop deadly casts, and having a good target priority.
I like FFXIV's dungeons better than WoW's (Especially Modern WoW's) for a couple of reasons, but I do miss that style of trash pulls.
That does sound great. One thing I'd love is for Scholars being able to drain stats from an add and throw it on someone.
Yeah, it certainly required a little bit more coordination from everyone. I'm not sure from a healing or tank perspective though, and I'm also thinking of 10 year old dungeons so I might be a little biased anyways.
I agree. I get why some people haven't liked it, but I think the story has been passable, and Criterion Dungeons are a good idea. They JUST need better rewards.
Pandaemonium also has like 10 tracks and the only one I don't like is the first one. I also appreciate stuff like the wonky arenas in P2/7/10, especially on savage with stuff like the tank buster towers that launch you to the far platforms.

In my time playing BLM you just want to be annoying until you get the LB.
Swiftcast activate on yourself, then use fire or ice depending on if its a target fighting or running. Paradox then superflare, it lets you either lock 1 person down enough to have your team catch up or it does a big dot on targets fighting. Otherwise its mostly gonna be spreading flare across teams with LB and remember to superflare them because that dot is deadly.

Controversial take but I actually thinking EW has been decent, content wise it's actually been fine, it just needs some formula tweaks. Criterion dungeons are actually good ideas needs better rewards. We got a new DD finally too and despite the complaints with it generally speaking it works as a good entry point into DD as a whole. The raid fights have been pretty cool too, story is shit thought I don't give a frick about pandaemonium at all.
