No one is gonna talk about how FF16 is going to get a new ending with the second DLC? It's clear as day
Clive is going to obtain the powers of Leviathan, which will make him a complete vessel who will be able to cast Ultima's Raise spell. This would bring about a true ending where he coould potentially survive the remaking of the world and resurrect Joshua too (if he even dies in this new continuity).
I doubt that.
Why? Leviathan is all he needs left in order to become a complete vessel. Everyone, even Ultima, thought Leviathan was lost.
Rising Tide (DLC2) is going to examine that there is a tribe existing around the Eikon of water who are keeping Leviathan in check permanently in order to prevent Ultima to get to it, at the very least in his current form.
Look at the wave. This is the same wave as we see in the distance.
Mysidia is literally just the region where Leviathan is. The reason the sky is blue is because Ultima's reach doesn't extend that far. Primogenesis is only localized to Valisthea and doesn't extend to the whole world.
This laser is the one that is supposedly locking Leviathan in place to prevent its awakening. Rising Tide will subsequently make us awaken Leviathan.
Clive absorbs Leviathan means he becomes a complete vessel, and that he would either have the capacity to survive the spell he's casting and save Joshua, or in a sinister twist, Ultima could fully absorb Clive.
Either way the ending is going to be different. This means that Ultima wanted to originally absorb Clive so he could go to Mysidia himself with Clive's body and just get Leviathan for himself because it extends beyond his reach.
Who asked? No one cares about this shit game
I care. YWNBAW by the way.
Black person shut the frick up and frick off already. Why is it that there’s always obnoxious little twats like yourself that can’t shut the frick up? Go circlejerk to the latest Black personman capeshit game.
>Why is it that there’s always obnoxious little twats like yourself that can’t shut the frick up?
Because idiots like you reply to them and feed them the (you)s which give them their half a second dopamine hit which is the entire reason they're here.
It's 2023 and it seems people have forgotten the golden rules of the internet.
>Don't feed the trolls
>Don't post personal information
>Don't believe everything you see online
>Dion still dies
That would be so funny. His whole sacrifice is for naught and he doesn't even get resurrected.
Dion going for Zettaflare got a cheap pop out of me.
it brings him back but he turns straight
He could be best friends with sir terence. Terence would be dying in the inside but at least Dion is alive.
Hugo wouldn't really have a drive to be a bigger dick if he killed Cid. Also is funny seeing him acting like a b***h
It was fricking weird how the game spends so much time on the little medicine girl and then poof, fricking nothing, no epilogue.
>But but too much cutscenes!
I wanted more cutscenes, I could watch a season of this shit. Medicine girl is suppose to show the average citizen's suffering. Also it shows Dion's more compassionate side. Mr toddler exterminator, he only kills kids that deserve it
They didn't pay him enough for a sex scene. He ain't fricking a bear either
FFXVI Adventures with Clive as the Dante of the series with an insane moveset, Dion and Jill as V and Nero.
Instead of Torgal combos you have link combos, assists and switch characters.
Imagine juggling a mob with Clive and Dion takes in a high jump to impale it
Ultimania confirmed they survived. Terence practically adopted her. Also the newest update the inner thoughts confirmed it. It does have an epilogue with literal who's that nobody gives a shit about but I admit I would rather see Kihel live happily with her gay dad and try to cook with fire but that's too gay and Joshua's book is important
I don't think we are going to see any new Dion. The dlc seems to be focusing on the initial Japanese surveys which is dating Jill and Leviathan
The dlc isn't based on any survey because it was already planned before the game released. Regardless they track social media and merch sales so they would know which characters became popular within the first few weeks
homie no one gives a frick. The game is boring dogshit and the story is bottom of the barrel trash.
tpbp
its so sad they destroyed the good part of the game, the massive climactic eikon fights, with total bullshit nonsense side quests that would put anyone to sleep
I really wish I hadn't boughten the DLC day one, it's 10$ (25 if you bought the season pass like me) for 2-3 hours of content. The accessories you get are great for future playthroughs, but the first 3 bosses are just recolors of older enemies and the DLC boss's only interesting mechanic is the DPS check at the end.
I'm waiting until the second DLC comes out then getting them to playthrough at once, when I heard Fallen Echos is only 3-4hours long, it's not enough for me to jump back into the game. I am really looking forward to fighting Leviathan though with Rising Tide I heard the second DLC is around 10-15hours of content so I can wait until that comes out and playthrough them together, but I'm looking forward to hearing more sick music and adding to my playlist.
What do you get? I still haven't finished the base game. I'm waiting till these come out to go through hard mode with the new outfits and Gotterdam. I saw you get the Buster Sword but what else?
One accessory gives you a 20% boost to will damage and triples enemy steps from 2 to 6 basically making you a monster if you can air juggle
Another breaks the stagger multiplier up to 200%
Another reduces cooldown time and regain HP if you precision dodge (and the potency is affected by the strength of the attack you dodge)
and some other new accessories
Do you know if only precision dodge counts for the escapement bit? Or does rooks gambit, megaflare, the other dodges and the parries count too?
I would need to test that out but my gut feeling is only precision dodges count
>Another reduces cooldown time and regain HP if you precision dodge (and the potency is affected by the strength of the attack you dodge)
Holy shit that's ludicrous.
>triples enemy steps from 2 to 6
OH SHIT
Jesus frick, those accessories sound like fun. I can't imagine what sort of gear the next DLC will have.
>triples enemy steps from 2 to 6
holy frick
i will never touch the
ground again
If the cooldown reduction works on megaflare dodge, it will become a permanent fixture in my loadout. I just don't like how some eikons require waiting for something (though you can use satellite or impulse at the same time).
Still think FF16 should have 3 abilities per eikon, and lock the use of ultimate skills to only one because they're too busted in regular play. Gigaflare + Thunder rod is too much. Only Omega has enough HP to handle it in the entire game.
Omega weapon, equipment that gives you more enemy steps, increases aerial damage, and lowers cooldown time depending on how well you can dodge and parry (still need to test if it counts the parries).
>and lowers cooldown time depending on how well you can dodge and parry
holy frick this is all I wanted. Does it keep lowering CDs the more you dodge and parry or is it just a one time thing?
It says it lowers CD and gives a bit health each time you dodge, with larger effect depending on how big the move you dodged was. Its not a one time thing.
a dodge will shave off a couple seconds on the cooldown. dodging once shaves like 3 seconds off the regular timer, so dodging multiple times has a bigger affect. couldn't test it on different moves yet though.
ESLkun you should know better.
I'm born in raised in the US, what about my grammar or spelling was off, I'm genuinely curious.
>boughten
only 1 boss is a reskin
>character's thoughts implemented
True ending as a DLC is an abhorrent concept. It's by definition pay to win, if not by technicality.
New/Alternative/What if ending is okay.
Thing is, the difference between the two is in the hand of devs, and devs may be swayed by the voice of the fans.
No, the ending shouldn't change at all. And I say this as someone who really liked the game.
>t. rips out the last 10 pages of every books he reads, and also enjoys getting blue balls on a regular basis
no I'm almost certain it's gonna be about barnabas backstory with his mom
Do they show female nipples in this game?
no, they do not
No but they get way too close not too and it's annoying
Blame the Japanese ratings board CERO.
How is arcade scoring now? Is it fixed? I want to S rank everything but I've put the game on hold waiting for a PC version
Yes, they also made Ultimaniac a tad easier and you have more potions. Arcade rewards keeping a combo going and not lame duck fights with the equivalent of a style meter
Yeah. Scoring is basically fixed now and it’s fun to chase S rank now. Only slight issue that hasn’t been fixed is that the boss cutscenes still can’t be skipped. Hoping a QOL update gives us that option or else it’s up to mods.
It's a good thing I waited for this DLC to do my FF mode run. Too bad they didn't fix performance mode yet but at least the new accessories will make the game so much more fun to play around.
I'm too small-brained to use Rift Slip though
Wait until Rising Tide before you do your FF run, don't do it only for this first DLC. It's coming out in February so just wait a couple of months.
I'm concerned the PC version will release alongside Rising Tide and I'd rather finish up the trophies before I make PC my permanent place to play this game
From what I can gather because the timed exclusivity runs out on the 31st of this month, there is a fanfest in Tokyo on the 3rd for FFXIV, the mmo and I'm thinking that's when the PC edition is going to be given a confirmed release date as Sony will no longer have any hold over the game.
Do you expect FF16 to be big on PC with the FF14 audience? I feel like if they add a code for a FF14 mount or emote with every purchase of FF16, the game will sell like pancakes.
If they release it on PC before Dawntrail then yes it will be big with the FFXIV audience. If they release it alongside or after then no.
They should just release it at the same time or right after the FF16 collab. Free marketing and hype around the game. Rising Tide will also be a big hype if it's bundled with the game on PC by default. Game shot up to the Top 10 PSN most-played chart this week-end because of DLC1 alone
I read an article saying YoshiP was recommending an SSD for PC players and he was trying to be as diplomatic as possible in saying this.
I mean most people in the West will understand straight away I got the impression his comments were aimed at the Japanese (because of their mindset being rather stubborn or not knowing they need to upgrade considering a lot of them are used to only consoles) rather than "gamers" in general terms.
I can see FF troons buying this slop, because they worship the guy that directed it
They have no standards anyway
I thought it was spring? Like march/april-ish?
March/April is probably the right call as they don't want the release to interfere with the release of FFVIIRebirth in February or the release of FFXIV Dawntrail in June/July.
I’d also say wait till the 2nd one drops. They’re both endgame and the rising tide will be much longer + any other additions and changes that come with it.
why do incels hate final fantasy all of a sudden?
The game ends with a gay sex scene and Yoshida committing sudoku live
>game is like half a year old now
>we're still using the paused screenshot the leaker took with his phone rather than a direct capture
never fails to make me smile
Who would willingly spend money on this piece of shit?
Meds
Not me. But I'm just happy that at no point did anyone decided to "replace" that image with one they could get from typing up "Dion gay scene" on Youtube.
>we're
it's just xv-kun
i think he's especially upset because people actually like dion
I actually liked Dion a lot
You're a homosexual
Anon what did you think was going to happen when you replied to a bait post?
Same but I’m biased because I think Nakamura’s a good VA
shame he won't be in any of the dlc
DESPITE him chilling in the hideaway
Kino
You knows what’s interesting
If you think about it for one second, what this homosexual is doing, it’s pretty unique. This one ffxv obsessed schizo has posted this image of two males about to kiss, more than any other person on the entire planet. Out of the billions he is the one guy who just loves posting males kissing.
He obsessed with XV so no suprise, it's gaytrip game anyway, while the main love interest getting dumped.
I thought 15 was mostly okay to be honest, but similarly to 16 its drawbacks are awful and what it does right isn’t enough to amend them. Still had my fun with both though
15 and 16 are around the same ranking to me due to opposite reasons
17 really needs to be the one game that actually learns from the past failures of the franshise and instead of discarding everything from the one before, builds upon the good from each
Im not gonna lie i did enjoy xv but i feel it lacked something/unfinished unlike when i play xvi and feel statisfied even the ending made me want some continuation/clear ending. I know xvi objectively better than xv, and i believe xvii will do better than those two.
I enjoyed 15, I finished it and forgot about it in like two weeks. I didn't bother with all the extra stuff surrounding it except for the free dlc, it was cute. I played 16 and I think about it every fricking day, it haunts me. How long has it being already? I want more.
I can’t bring myself to play it again. Planned on going straight into NG+ but nope. Couldn’t the next DLC will be the first time I touch it again
NG+ is way better, Anon. Skip cutscenes and get right into the fights.
I’ll wait until the happy ending DLC
I think a lot of anons thought 15 was okay, but it's impossible to actually discuss the game in most threads these days due to you know who.
Lmao, i would never praise xv if he was in same thread as me. It's impossible to discuaa with him.
Idk who's starting a trend where being contrairian/shitting other people's taste is cool. I have seen this kind of situation not just in FF threads.
I always appreciate it, it reminds me about how much they love each other
So is FFXVI confirmed to be in the same universe as FFXIV? I saw the trailers and I'm seeing shit like Myrcedia and Omega popping up and shit,
It's not the same world. For one, magic works completely different, Ultima is a completely different entity from XIV (or Ivalice) Ultima, the setting isn't at all the same.
It's Mysidia which is a recurring location in FF, though hasn't appeared in mainline FF for decades. Similar deal with Omega, Omega originally appeared as a superboss in FF5 and slowly started making appearances in FFs with ports and spinoffs.
Who cares?
The feel and atmosphere is just off, there's no saving it with a DLC.
A DLC isn't going to retroactively make the entire game feel like Final Fantasy, or introduce RPG elements for the game or flesh out the combat so that it's actually engaging and has some depth.
But the combat is engaging and has depth. Rpg mechanic bloat in action games doesn’t add depth.
no it isn't and doesn't
there's only 6 unique enemies in ff16
dragons dogma proves you wronh
you know what, I'd probably agree with you, but dragon's dogma ALSO only has like 6 unique enemies. and dragon's dogma is the only exception because itsuno knows the importance of the action part of action rpgs. every other action rpg drowns any amount of depth in rpg mechanics that point you towards playing a certain way.
Did anyone else enjoy the game but not find it to be particularly great, or alternatively did anyone ultimately find it wanting overall but still think there’s some stuff it did very well? I only ask because most of the threads I’ve been in (which admittedly probably isn’t all that many) tend to have opinions swing between “it was pure dogshit” and “GOTY, absolute kino” with little if any in-between
it was pure dogshit
You're on Ganker, imageboards are all about contrarianism, mix that with phone posting and some people who are genuinely not that smart but are bored you get threads with very little genuine discussion.
It really isn't. World is boring, story sucks, characters suck, sidequests suck
It was a 7/10 to me
I like it but I think they took their inspiration of GoT on a purely surface level. Everything is so damn dour. I'm not saying I have to have a crossdressing subplot or anything but things start out bad then everything gets worse and worse as the plot continues (though I admit I stopped around Titan's defeat). Also, there are questionable design choices like giving Torgal a super mode but it's pretty random as to when it can occur, or, the Eikon swords that you can get, but in order to get the next one, you have to sacrifice the previous one. And the handling of the Eikons was a bit meh for me too, and the ending is really underwhelming
That being said, I like combat, I like the characters for the most part. It's just not a world/story that I feel people would want to return to again and again.
I found it purely 5/10. Just ok. Near the end I was begging for it to be over, I had some modicum of fun when I got Odin's sword but other than that it was firmly lackluster. Doesn't help this game is muddy/blurry and grey as shit and really unpleasant to look at.
It's a 4/5 for me, but the stuff that 1 point is missing are things I'm actually surprised didn't make it in. Story is richer than people make it out to be, the characters are mostly likable, and the setting is pretty cool. Only real non-gameplay bugaboo I have is that there are way too much cutscenes/dialog, and Benedikta and Barnabas didn't get as much screen time or depth as they deserved.
There’s no in between because the game is to sparse. If you’re an actiongay that think FF has been stale since 10-2 this game will probably be one of your favorite FF’s. Especially if you hate the current trend of most action games being Souls clones. But if you’re someone that hasn’t lost all hope on this IP and you expect these games to at least have some RPG elements than this game offers you nothing but spectacle. And while the spectacle has its high moments it also has insanely low moments and half measures. The action and boss battle are extremely will done but it’s a dog shit RPG hybrid and just an okay gaming experience.
Rebirth is gonna show you what happens when you build on something good.
high highs and long stretching mids is what i always say
high 6 or low 7 out of 10
Yeah I'm on the same boat, I thought it was just ok.
I said this before but the vast majority of people think "meh, could be better" or "this is great". I think the game is kino but it could be better
I wish I could relive the whole Bahamut part over again for the first time. No game has ever impressed me as much
I liked it a lot, but I do concede the pacing was fricked. Also the combat system was too limiting, especially in a post DMC 5 world. I liked the characters and story, hated how 60% of the game is spent under a shitty pink sky that ruins the lighting in all parts of the world.
Its a decent 6/10 or 7/10. I liked Clive and some of the fights, but it does drag a bit and the side quests suck. also the queen outcome was lackluster for the shit she pulled.
Its an okay game that felt quite uneven in certain areas
The bad
>Story pacing is atrocious
>Tons of underdeveloped characters, especially Jill
>Little to no banther with party members
>Ultima is one of the dullest main FF villains, Barney is underdeveloped and Anabelle is quite underutilized
>Exploration is poor and unrewarding
>The Sidequests and bearer subplot are awful
The good
>VA is top notch
>Some characters like Byron, Clive, Hugo and Joshua are enjoyable
>Eikon battles are pretty fun and have weight
>Combat is enjoyable and its fun to use the varied abilities even with the cooldown
>Battles against some of the marks are quite fun
>OST is quite good
I have to agree that this game needs more party banter.
The bizarre thing is that it actually does have banter and comments from characters during regular fights, but you can't hear it unless you turn music and sound effects off. The volume on them is way too low.
I heard some rumour Jill can be heard swearing during normal battle. Is that true?
No, Jill doesn't swear.
Or poop
Black person, Jill is tons better developed than Joshua.
>be Josh
>come back after Phoenix Gate for no reason
>only to die again in the end
>destroy all conflict about guilt
>never talk about Phoenix Gate with Clive
>know where Clive is and that he is a slave
>never seek him out anyway because of some incomprehensible mumbo jumbo reason writers forgot to mention
>spend years researching Ultima
>find utterly nothing valuable on Ultima that we didn't already know
>get duped by Ultima like an absolute moron
Jill btfos Joshua as a character. Themes of faith and love aside, she has a clear purpose. If everything else is duty, Jill is Clive's ultimate freedom.
but joshua actually says things of substance even though he should say more and moves the story along
even in the newest dlc, jill doesn't even contribute anything
>but joshua actually says things of substance
When? Literally when?
The only thing of substance he's ever said was parroting Jill's and others' words to Clive right before Ultima finished him
Everything else was completely redundant
Joshua post Phoenix Gate is so fricking pointless and such a time waster it's hilarious, he should've stayed dead and the story would've been way better
The game didn't mention that Joshua was in a coma and that it took a while for him to recover but it does mention that he didn't blame Clive and that he ordered his cult to not hurt him. Jote also mentioned that he was looking for Clive. By the time he found him Clive was already free. Joshua was satisfied with protecting Clive from the shadows, I do think he underestimated how much he means to Clive's emotional stability but I think he was probably worried that he was going to lead Ultima to him and was traveling to do research on how to kill Ultima. The thing about it is that he shows up for like 15 minutes total yet he has such a massive impact while most of the audience felt like Jill is just a satellite character despite being present from the beginning. Don't get me wrong, she is a nice girl but I don't care for her and she underperforms compared to other heroines. sometimes I even forget she is a dominant and even the villains don't treat her like a threat
To put it bluntly, Jill is there to suck Clive's wiener, just like Jote is there to suck Joshua's wiener (she wishes) and Terence is there to suck Dion's wiener. At the end of everything they are satellite characters
Jill is there to make sure Clive finds his self-worth and freedom, just as he helps her in the same regard.
Without Jill, you wouldn't even be having discussions on the ambiguity of the ending. Clive would be a martyr by default, failing his character arc.
He wasn't in a coma the whole time, only 5 years, moron.
He literally knew his brother was an imperial slave but did nothing.
The moronic cult obeys him.
He also saw Clive ten meters away but instead of joining forces he ran off to do something that doesn't matter in the slightest.
He didn't find anything valuable on Ultima. Zero. Nada. Died like a moron.
Adult Joshua is a dogshit character. He wasted time and dev resources on nothing.
The fact that his reappearance happens right after Clive goes on to his atonement arc is also HORRIBLE writing holy kek.
Jill is way better, like fricking leagues above in terms of writing. She's completely coherent and has an actual, unique purpose.
who cares the game is terrible
get back to work on Dawntrail
What are some other games that do the "boss initiates a countdown before using his ultimate attack" cause I fricking love that trope.
ffxiv does it a lot
Sephiroth does it in FFVII Remake, and he does something similar in KH1, though there's no visible counter and it doesn't kill you outright
Xenoblade 1 has fun with this trope due to the protagonist's ability to glimpse into the future.
If you haven't played it, basically throughout the game when bosses/strong enemies ready a fatal attack, you're given a small cutscene of it playing out. Once gameplay switches back you have a few seconds to mitigate it and change the future, either using heals/buffs on the intended target or getting the tank to draw aggro.
Spoilers for the late game and the game in general: Xenoblade's world takes place on a pair of titans, the party all hail from one of the them and are fighting a boss on the other. Halfway through the fight, the boss tries to command his titan to destroy their home.
?si=5ZA1fy-DQ5nVEInn&t=10555
That wasn't what I was asking though, and xeno1 was....bland and boring.
You asked for other games that do the "boss initiates a countdown before using his ultimate attack" trope.
I gave you a boss that initiates a 120 second countdown before using his ultimate attack...
That homie isn’t me I don’t know what the frick he’s trying to pull
Xenoblade more like Xenobased. I'd love to see a crossover where Clive and Noah team-up and slaughter several Marvel characters.
xenoblade 1 was peak xenoblade and xe2 and xe3 never hit the same feeling.
A new ending wont save the game. Who cares.
Why do this game attract such vehement schizo(s)
They're Asians, I shit you not they think FF is a sacred Asian/ Japanese property and ff16 in their eyes is seen to pander to the West. It doesn't matter that the entire series only exists because it's a dnd clone that Sakaguchi freely admits, but here you are. There are people who think the game series should always only be anime weeb tropes because they have only played FF7 the original and anything that deviates from that is not a true Final Fantasy game.
as someone who has been playing Jrpgs the most I always saw FF in the same vein as RE, they have a more global appeal than anime appeal
Similar to Street Fighter and Tekken, it attracts more global while anime fighting is for more japanese liking
you have to admit that it was pretty shitty of them to not have japanese lip sync, it went abit too far in the west panering than normal
This was one of the most consistently brought up criticisms I saw in Japanese reviews/comments, don’t think it really swayed the overall opinion(s) but it was definitely a sore point for them. With that said it didn’t bother me too much and it’s only for some cutscenes rather than all
do they care about proper lip syncing when they dub over western movies/shows?
Don’t know to be honest, I would think they’d probably be at least a bit forgiving if it doesn’t match as well as they’d want but that’s just an assumption on my part
Very unpopular opinion but when I watch anime with characters that are foreign, I usually enjoy their voices better in their corresponding language than in the Japanese language. Emma, cowboy bebop, red garden etc. I wonder if the Japanese saw this as an act of betrayal.
Betrayal may be a bit too far but I can understand why it bothered them. Regardless of any arguments about whether the English or Japanese audio is the intended/true way to play the game, or if it matters, the fact is the English VO was not used in the domestic promos and only the Japanese cast were ever billed in announcements and the like, so for them there was no inclination to play in English. Like I said I don’t think it turned anyone against the game but they probably do see it as “pandering to the west” for want of a better term
The cult of yoshitroon are the clowns of Ganker, people like to make fun of them, especially now that the game flopped after the cult immediately labelling it the GOTY based on a short demo
You are literally the only one always talning about that homosexual. Amd before yoshida, you were schizo against Nomura, anyone can check the archives
This is just tendies still never forgiving ff7 for going to ps1, even any future turn based FF is going to be derailed by these schizos
When you reply to a schizo all your doing is fuelling oxygen to their fire.
Even if I don't he will start samegayging. But when you remind he is a tendie the shitposting will stop to start defending his obnoxious fanbase
And its not only FF, they also flamewar in MH, DMC and Yakuza threads, or any other jrpg
FF7R combat was good, and I remember xenobladegays in the past always insulting ff7r for muh metacritic, now they are too hidden since Rebirth looks great
No, I don't give a frick about the rest, I just hate yoshitroon and his cult of trannies because I genuinely think he is a below average talentless hack that gets praise for no good reason
>praised
Where. You are obsessed
>in before reddit
Then go back there. This is why I always hate massive online games, they ALWAYS bring dramaqueens like you celebrityposting and spending all day reading what some person said.
Buy a life, MMOhomosexual
Cry more, gay. This is not your personal hugbox
Concession accepted, go back to the red alien forum to keep crying about some homosexual producer
t. yoshitroon
I'm amazed I'm reading a FF16 topic that's not just pure hatred lol love this game
Loved the new DLC. insane graphics. loved the boss fight. im on new game+ but had to stop to check it out. excited to play the DLC on Final Fantasy difficulty.
the UPCOMING DLC reminds me of the open area in FF13
>I'm amazed I'm reading a FF16 topic that's not just pure hatred lol love this game
Same, that's the problem terminally online schizos will always have their voice heard due to how much time they can dedicate to spamming versus a well put together guy who can only play and talk about the game on their time off, during their spare time, which they're rarely going to spend here talking about how much they enjoyed a game, they'll spend it with family, with friends or playing the game.
It's always why no matter how much you hear negativity about a game online, it will still sell millions of copies.
Glad you enjoyed it anon, it's definitely got the best boss fights I've ever played in a game, absolutely batshit insane stuff.
That probably just means the Zeldapoo is busy shitposting the new Monster Hunter. We also have DD2 to keep those schizos busy, they probably hate Capcom the most after Square enix and Sega
The game sucked ass and ff troons are so desperate to talk about this shit it's pathetic.
>Spider-Man 2 was so shit that it made everyone reevaluate FFXVI
Clivebros... we won!?
I dont like capeshit (only enjoyed Batman games) but I think Spiderman 2 got to the same dangerous zone as TLOU2, its too spiteful against whites and that causes rejection
Meanwhile, Clive is the perfect man
>Strong
>Handsome
>Confident
>Doesn't bend the knee nor apologize in every fricking scene
>Powerful sense of loyalty to his family and friends
Glad they didn't go full GOT and made Clive grow into a traditional hero like you'd see in older pieces of media or stories.
>gets cucked
Nah he's trash
>cucked
He's one of the few FF protags to frick the female lead and lose his virginity.
ignore the tendie anon.
I can see why it wouldn't win much, same as Leon's game (in before muh remake)
if that is true then ff16 will never beat the unfinished game allegations because it will be a 100% definitively proven unfinished game
Do you think second DLC will include a new ending? Honestly I think they will just move on once they saw Action is not a big seller (only Kratos can do that lets be honest) and may go back to try some new turn based or actionlike alas FF7R
>crpg
To be fair while it would be interesting, I like games having a fixed storyline. They could try to make some spin off for crpg, always found dumb why FF11 and 14 werent just called FFOnline 1 and 2
I do like the experimenting parts though or else they will get as stuck as DQ
You're stupid
he is right though, ff12, 13-2, LR and FF7 Remake are fun
I for one would enjoy a new happy ending
>SaGa Emerald CHAOS
>FF7Rebirth
>P3R
>Metaphor
>potential ff9r and DQ12 announcement
>Dragons Dogma 2
>Persona Asa
>Yakuza
Next year looks great tbh. This year only had RE4R, Octopath, HFR and BG3 as the best games (FF16 too for a few) but next year looks a lot better.
Me and 3 other edgychads are looking forward Dirge of Cerberus inevitable remake
I wouldn't mind a DOC port or pseudo-remake like what Crisis Core got. Been getting the platinum trophies for all the FFVII games, and it's been fun.
Man his design is so fricking good.
I really fricking need a Stranger of Paradise sequel or at least a game that uses similar mechanics
I would LOVE that too. They could use some parts of FF2, as well as
>FF6: Edgard and cia
>FF7: this one has the compilation already, I dont think it needs more to be fair
>FF8: Laguna and cia, or Seifer and cia
>FF9: Zidane and cia in the past, or Amarant and Lani
>FF10: No fricking doubt. Fricking Auron and his 2 b***hes, prequel. But if rumours are true they are already busy making FF10R and a potential FF10-3
>FF12: I'm still sad about the cancelled Fortress game, I would love a Basch game. I feel like him and Ashe were robbed. I will always recommend the ds sequel though
>FF13: This one I keep saying it could use some Yakuza like spin off with Lightning in Paris
But sadly salesgays made sure Team Ninja wont do another fun spin off again
>But if rumours are true they are already busy making FF10R and a potential FF10-3
Frick no. I hate this. For all its faults, at least the compilation of FFVII had GACKT-KINO.
If they bring back DOC, it better have the fricking Gackt music intact. Vincent being a cold, edgy motherfricker while blasting his enemies as Gackt music plays in the background is the peak of 2000s aethetics. I love that shit. Only Jack's game and NEO TWEWY gave me those vibes.
>SoP first trailer
>thread full of CHAOS memes
>That cutscenes where Jack just replies BULLSHIT and walks away listening to edgy music
Still makes me KEK hard
>FFX3
Please tell me it wont follow that shit with the blitzball bomb
Don't forget about Unicorn Overlord. It's funny how Sega is starting to rival SE on the JRPG front when they were mostly the arcade guys.
True, I forgot kek. Praying for Sega to bring back Phantasy Star too
Oh there is also the Suikoden remasters but those are stuck in Konami`s hell.
I would also LOVE if Capcom brought Breath of Fire back
I just want Clive and Jill to be happy at the end.
why does the hero always get the girl in these games even when he doesnt deserve her
Just finished the dlc, and I swear to god it was 9/10 or 10/10 and if the main game based like this it would been a 10/10 game. Amazing how quickly the team was able to fix the major issue people had with the game on the dlc. Wonder how side quest will be in the newest dlc
>Amazing how quickly the team was able to fix the major issue people had with the game on the dlc
I mean that basically sounds like the default skillset required for developing a game like FF14
It's just a regular dungeon with a pretty cool fight at the end, it's a 10/10 because it's not some moronic sidequest or a lame Ifrit fight
Why did xvi bomb?
Trying to think of a cornier ending than 16. Even Kingdom Hearts doesn't get this bad
devs confirmed the pc port is coming with the dlc bundled in
No one is going to talk about it cause no one played this dogshit game.
>New ending where no one dies
Typical CBU3, I wouldn't be surprised. Maehiro is a hack, anyways.
That would ruin the original ending.
The original ending being ambiguous just for the sake of it is the major complaint.
After a whole "with the power of friendship I defy the evil demiurge" sequence (which was ecxecuted perfectly) an attempt at being subvertive really doesn't feel rewarding.
This is factual. It was plainly obvious to anyone with a brain that Clive lives, but shartnix thought """discourse""" would keep the game alive, when in reality ff is in such dire straights Fgays just want a solid story to point to and say "hay look, my series isn't completely trash nowadays". No one can say cbu3 doesn't listen.
Did you ever stop and think that people don't really give a shit about "ambiguity" or "subtext" or "clues" and just want a satisfying ending? Maybe it doesn't fricking matter if he's meant to live or not. Players don't want insinuations or implications. They want to fricking see it. They want to be rewarded for their efforts. Video games are not film. Movies are not video games. You get a massive erection from cinema like Inception. That's more power to you. But when I rescue Peach from Bowser, I kind of want to see a catharsis play out.
I didn't make the game man..
Clive dies but is ultimately free. He enjoys a starry night with no master to decide his fate, he gifts this view to Jill to carry on this legacy of freedom
Have you never played FF7 because its ending is similar and even worse in its ambiguity. Why is FF16 catching strays for it now.
It's just like being mad magic is gone when FF6 does it as well
People forgot about FF VII's ending after the Compilation sequels.
Or they just never played it.
Oh yeah, there's a shitload, an absolute shitload of "FF VII fans" who never played the original FF VII (or only played it later/watched a playthrough) and got in with Advent Children or even Kingdom Hearts. It was that mid-00's era when the internet, anime, everything basically went mainstream. FF VII merch (then already 8 years old) fricking everywhere on conventions.
Either way I feel like FF16 is getting demolished for things the series has done before and I don't get why.
FF16 doesn't even execute them any worse in my eyes
FF XVI is lambasted over endless MMO-style boring filler sidequests but Xenoblade games get none of that flak.
> Joshua is death, joking he isnt, you know what frick your shota im gonna kill it dumbly
> Villian acts and talks made sephiroth in ff7 crappy translations look like a genius and ff1 garland too with the suicidal loop
> They spent a quarter or half of the game timeskip with the comedy relief villian (titan) after the hideout attack i was expecting a more straight eikon fight buildup
> Leviathan is dead ( buy the dlc)
The only good shit its not forgiving the b***h mom of clive
ESL, please leave. You're not even right about Clive's mom. They didn't let Clive or Joshua stab her in the throat. She just kills herself. Fricking lame.
Also for a narcissist like Anabella to kill herself means that she is severely mentally broken and even though Dion intended to kill her he knew he didn't even have to do it himself because he knew she was broken. He basically strips her of everything she cares about. Power, title and her perfect purebred baby. He basically drove her insane and laughed about it while she was having a mental breakdown
Yes thats a baf excuse as bad prequel redemptoon 2 not showing blackwater heist, the important event that doomed dutch gang
You have to be over 18 to post on Ganker
yeah, I just noticed that. I was preaching to the converter. My bad.
I played FF7 when it released. I hated the ending back then, and I still hate the original ending to this day. If there's one thing I hope Nomura changes it's that shitty ending. Silver lining to all those damn time jannies. fingers crossed.
You hated the original ff7 ending? Why? It's just....pretty neutral...time passes
FF7 and its subsequent ending is akin to having the most amazing sex of your life with Kate Beckinsale. But immediately after climax she takes a massive diarrhea dump on the bed. Yeah, you had amazing sex with Kate Beckinsale, and that's a moment you will never forget for as long as you live. But you never really talk about that last part. Because it just besmirches the whole experiences. You just like to talk about everything that preceded it.
People need to be jerk offd intellectually, they probably expected a custcene with mommy Tifa and Cloud(you) kids.
Dude my whole post was about normies wanting an actual ending rather than a manufactured ending with supposed questions about clives life promoting more conversation
True, ff needs to stabilize before they can pull shit like this
Can't ruin what's already ruined.
would be cool, but Ultima already treats him like a complete vessel in the current ending
he does survive and you guys need to accept that already
Feel like I'm the only one on this board that liked 16, loved the themes of brotherly love
I liked it too
You are not, is one group of schizoids obsessed with some Japanese old man that are spamming the board with their b***hing. Most people either feel "meh could be better" about the game or they love it. Also I agree the relationships and bonds in the game are really beautiful
FFXVI has some great depicitons of male friendship and paternal bonds that are rare to see in vidya. Clive, Joshua, Elwin, Byron, Gav.
I do think it dropped the ball on the romance angle, or just the individual female characters, conversely.
I absolutely didn't expect Benedikta to be offed so early with all the marketing she got, Jill needed more development, and best girl got basically nothing.
God I love her so much
I loved it, but it's just like on Twitter. You can't talk about it because mentally ill individuals have decided to make it their life mission to shit on the game unfortunately
Ah yes, everybody gets their happy ending except Dion. Frick Dion apparently
Is there anything that you miss out on in FF mode (NG+) if you didn't do it on your first playthrough? I think you can doubledip on accessories if you get them over multiple playthroughs?
I don't think you can do ff mode your first playthrough, it's meant for ng+. Also no.
>game with a main character that wants to an hero
Once again ff is ahead of the curve. People shit on this series but it always leads the way
That is neither what happens in FFXVI or something that would be unique to FFXVI if it were true. It's a more fitting description of Silent Hill 2 or Rain World, even if it would be an over simplification of those games.
>silent hill 2
No one played that
>rain world
L M F A O
>this is neither what happens
You didn't play the game
In what way does Clive want to kill himself? The only time he's ever suicidal is when he's at his lowest and feels responsible for Joshua's death, which is a very brief moment that he doesn't take long to get over at all.
Near the beginning of the game, shortly before he saves gav from the dragoons, you can see he doesn't gaftbhfam
Yeah, that's when he's feeling responsible for Joshua's death like I said. I would give you that there's a period of time in the game where he's suicidal, but it's not a prominent part of Clive's character and is fairly short-lived.
Even so, what other AAA shit comes close to that
Like I said, Silent Hill 2 has multiple suicidal characters and them and their suicidal tendencies are much more prominent parts of the stories, and that's one of the most popular videogame stories around. I can't think of any recent AAA games that touch on it, but then I haven't played many recent AAA games. I don't think it's such a taboo subject that it was odd to see it in XVI though, especially considering it wasn't even that prominent. MGS4 is another game that had a suicidal protagonist, thinking about it now. Persona 5 didn't have a suicidal main character, but it did have a character's suicide attempt feature prominently in one of the game's arcs.
It may not be an everyday occurrence to see it in a game, but it didn't strike me as exceptionally brave either, and it was such a short period of the game that it took me a moment to remember it even happened at all. It's Clive's guilt over when he awakened as Ifrit and his denial over it that is really given focus and any suicidal feelings related to it are just a byproduct of that, which is fine, but it felt more like a story of him learning to accept himself than a story of him struggling with suicidal tendencies.
>mgs4
>an actual response
Thanks anon you've given me faith in this board for the first time in months
The p5 thing is nothing because it's a tertiary character. 16 has an mc obviously suicidal. sh2? That's a horror game, it's expected.
I'm just glad they did it, however nominal and short it was. Also, I'm glad snake didn't kms. He deserves to live.
>The p5 thing is nothing because it's a tertiary character
I wouldn't say it's nothing at all, while P5 may be far from a game about suicide, the suicide attempt is still a key moment in one of the game's more memorable arcs. Despite it being with a side character, I would say it's a much more impactful representation of suicidal feelings than anything in XVI, with there being an actual suicide attempt, it being an instigator for the upcoming action, and by extension, the actions of the main characters for the rest of the game. Despite Shiho being a minor character and Clive being the protagonist of XVI, I would still consider the former a much more memorable and impactful representation of a character wanting to commit suicide than XVI, where it was so forgettable that I had literally forgotten about it.
The thing about one of these examples being with a side character and one being with a main character is that because Shiho basically just exists for this moment, it means her whole character can be centered around it and what lead to it, so it feels like an important part of the character. With Clive in XVI, it doesn't take a great deal for Cid to convince him to hold off on killing himself, and it's barely touched on at all once that happens. Someone being suicidal is a pretty big deal, but it doesn't feel like such a big deal when the whole thing of them feeling suicidal begins and ends so quickly, and then there's so much of the game afterwards still to go that never have Clive return to those feelings at all. I don't really have a problem with that because there's no reason for him to return to feeling suicidal, but it makes it a pretty underwhelming presentation of the topic regardless. It's much more striking in SH2, and it's not because it's a horror game, it's because it's something you can get a sense of throughout, not just a little thing James or Angela goes through and moves past.
I guess I fundamentally disagree with you.
>shiho
Side character
Openly contemplates an hero
>Clive
MC
Subtly contemplates an hero
One of those hit me harder. I didn't like p5 so I might be biased though.
>Subtly contemplates an hero
Clive doesn't subtly contemplate it though. He begs to be killed and says over and over he's going to kill whoever killed Joshua and then makes a point that "I killed Joshua, therefore I will kill myself." He just gets over it quickly, but there's nothing subtle about it while it's happening.
Also to add on to this, Shiho is much more subtle in her contemplation about killing herself than Clive. She actually attempts it instead of just talking about it which is a more striking moment than anything to do with Clive's suicidal feelings, but before she attempts it she's not going around letting everyone know, unlike Clive who is explicit about wanting to kill himself leading to Cid trying to convince him not to. Shiho tries to put a brave face on what she's going through and doesn't tell anyone in advance what she's going to do.
nta and I sorta agree with you but clive was about to attempt suicide in kingsfall when he stopped and walked towards an opening of a bridge with the rushing rapids underneath. the music cuts out for a bit but torgal's whine snaps him out of it.
That is true, though I don't know if I'd qualify that as a suicide attempt. It is at least more subtle than him just declaring openly that he wants to kill himself though. I don't have a problem with how it handles Clive feeling suicidal anyway, for the record. I don't like the story, but I think that part of it is fine just for showing the guilt Clive is going through and any suicidal feelings he has are fine as an extension of that, I'm just saying that I don't think they were even trying to be really gritty with a focus on suicide, and so I didn't come away from the game shocked by the fact that they went there, given that it wasn't deeply explored, prominent or even something that I hadn't seen before.
If I was shocked by anything the game brought up it was that the soldiers were going to rape Jill before she awakened to Shiva, despite them exploring that even less than they explore Clive feeling suicidal, just because rape actually is a topic that is taboo enough that I think a good number of videogame writers would be hesitant to touch upon it. Suicide may be serious, but I don't think it's the kind of thing that's so delicate that a lot of writers will be scared to even go near it.
>he only contemplates it
Frick you. Name another AAA game where an MC does that. You cant, besides snake after his story was over years ago
Beyond Two Souls.
>aaa
It had a budget of $27 million.
It's not shocking that they would try to rape Jill, but it did come as a bit of a surprise that they actually bring up that they were going to rape her. Scoundrels holding a woman hostage isn't uncommon in stories in general, but typically they won't have the woman be raped because that's pretty dark and might not be appropriate for the tone. Even with XVI trying to be a bit grittier for Final Fantasy, even then they probably would have considered Jill actually explicitly being raped to be going too far, they don't even have Benedikta get raped when she's in a similar situation for that matter, but going into it it wouldn't have surprised me if they felt bringing it up at all would have been inappropriate.
I mean they are dominants. They are not going to let themselves get raped. Jill's country women were probably beaten and raped everyday and she didn't do shit to her captors because she feared for their deaths but she was also a scared preteen girl because if I was a dominant I would have just killed everyone. Shiva is basically human sized she could have walked around the castle when she was stronger and killed everyone while the women escaped. She doesn't have to worry about crushing people or burning them to death because she doesn't radiate power unless she is intentionally using it. Or at least that's my impression. A couple may die but most would be able to escape
Dion is a walking nuke. The thing about it is if you knew your kid could easily nuke a nation then you have to make absolutely sure he doesn't turn against you. So I think he was raised to be completely obedient and despite that he managed to talk back to someone he thought was holy. It would have been unrealistic for him to completely rebel when his entire upbringing was about honoring his father as not just a father but someone chosen by "Greagor" and it wasn't purely because of Joshua but he started disliking his father before he met him and Joshua sped up the process. Also Dion flinches when touched by his father's spectre meaning he was probably beaten before, he also becomes obedient when he is given the flowers. He was basically pablov into submission.
So basically Sylvestre married his wife who turned out to be infertile and he needed his Bahamut baby for the throne. So he finds himself the most desired prostitute to give birth to his baby. He threatened her if she didn't give up Dion so she was forced to and killed her anyways. He probably meant to raise him and pass him off as his wife's baby but he was disgusted that his legacy was tainted with a prostitute's blood. So he kills his wife so that he would have a proper heir and never loved Dion because he was tainted.
Obviously there's a reason ingame to prevent them from getting raped, I'm just saying that I doubt they would have put her into a situation where she was going to be raped if not for there being something like that to get her out of it, just because her actually being raped would be pretty dark for the tone of the game.
OMG MY GAME OF THRONES LIKE CANT HAVE RAPE THATS TOO DARK FROM THE COUNTRY THAT RAPED CHINKS IN WW2
It doesn't have rape, so I think that would be fair to say, yeah. It's dark enough to acknowledge rape but not for it to actually occur, which is fine, but despite the Game of Thrones influence, it's not that dark.
Is not going to occur. It is unrealistic for them to get raped while being dominants. It makes sense that they would manifest during an extremely stressful situation
I know, but obviously there has to be a reason for them to not actually get raped in a situation where they would otherwise be raped. The would be rapists aren't going to turn around and stop because it wouldn't be appropriate given the game's tone, there needs to be an actual reason within the context of the story, and the reason given is fine, but if they couldn't come up with a good reason for those characters to almost be raped but avoid it, they wouldn't just let them be raped, they would just not put them in that situation to begin with.
yeah, would've been interesting if they touched on the jill stuff more. even if it would've given the audience that thinks the game is too dark more fuel to complain
A bunch of backwards barbarians wanted to rape a beautiful girl in a war torn setting? How shocking! Anyways in a way you are right but is not like they showed it.
This poor woman. Joshua inner commentary towards Jote is basically "she travels with me" and I hope you are free of me. He is basically aware he has a cult and I bet he feels sorry for them but since he needs them he doesn't reject them
That's better for their mental health. They are both free from being a "kinslayer" which would just be traumatic. Dion is the one who gets dirty at the cost that everyone important remain pure. He is basically the one that killed Anabella. He exacted his revenge on Sylvestre without meaning to and on Anabella knowing exactly what to do
More funny was all the joshua death drama and clive unlocking his devil trigger by accepting "the truth"( gaslight the fricking moron knew he was controlled)
I guess I should go and finish the game, huh? My brother spoiled most of the story for me so I didn’t feel interested in finishing it
Sorry but I like ff games for the unique stories and gameplay, so 16 qas good.
I dont give a frick a biut ff16 cause its flawed in its concept and no amount of "cyberredemption no Black person sky" gonna save it or make it better
At this point I'm convinced FF7R is going to end with Cloud murdering Tifa and then committing suicide, with Sephiroth riding off into the sunset with Yuffie.
Wow, this kusoge is tracing FFXV's trajectory so bad it probably makes Tabata blush.
It would be a cool twist if the ending changes after Clive gets all the eikons but I'm not looking forward to all the drama online. Only thing I'll say is that Clive deserves a happier ending and I would like a different final boss battle.
But it makes sense that both DLCs are set before the final boss if they're really heading that way
People will complain about having to pay to get the "true ending" though.
Still, they'll probably do it better than Bioware did with ME3. They got their "true ending" handed to them on a gold platter and they had their head too far up their ass to do it.
Is there anything people won't complain about this game anyway?
I would have gladly forked over 9000 dollars if it meant not having to be mad anymore at that shitty goddamned ending. Please, just don't...
FF16 was an injection of testosterone the series needed
But enough about your transition.
I genuinely think this game is targeted to women and gay people, and thats why this game isn't popular among straight men
Not saying its a bad thing as 99℅ vidya games cater to straight men, let women and gays have this one
if it weren't for jack's game, 16 would unironically be the most manly game in the series.
Manly game that have men in the games lusting after another men and even kissing eaching other
You're right, can't think of other games manlier than that
Fujostacy won
It's all takais fault..he didn't want chocobos in the first place.....
Yes its so funny ffv battlw designer its so moronic even at copypasting god of war qtes but worse so adhd old men can beat the qtes with crappy slowmo even soi of war ragnarok has better qtes
Wtf are you talking about bro
I just want the PC version so lazy can get to work.
Little Joshua is going to go through so many mature women when this comes out, I pity him
Any coomer stuff? Did yoshi piss deliver female nipples or not?
No only male nipples, there are tons of homosexual subtext in the game
Nope just two sidenaked characters having straight sex with not a full blackout screen at all
>thinking they will have the laughing snek
Bruh, they are only going to put in the rougelite and gauntlet challenges.
Did you even watch the trailer you clown?
My only question is why did they go so serious.
?t=71
why the frick didn't they use the child model for this scene
it exists
One would presume the last time Byron saw Clive would have been when he was 15, not earlier.
people care about final fantasy after X-2 why?
It's amazing how much better threads are when the spazz from Melbourne is asleep.
The irony of Dion being broken by his accidental killing of his father is that Sylvestre was just like Annabella and was a massive piece of shit who never cared about Dion except to guarantee his seat as emperor. Pretty sure the Ultimania also states Sylvestre killed his mother
Ultimania means shit after the moronic statement from ultima race being from the same planet
>rips off Book of the New Sun
could be kino, but they aren't changing the ending and the ending wasn't even the bad part of the game so it wouldn't matter to me either way
anyone knows what ff16 did to cause this kind of constant seething online?
>Has no black people
>Gay dude dies in the end
>Female char almost raped after being depowered.
For a twitter user those are cardinal sins.
FFXVI is currently on the best-seller list on the PSN store, was surprised to see it checking the store today
I wouldn't be surprised if some people didn't even know a new FF game came out until the game awards. I only found out because I occasionally check out Ganker and thanks to schizo spamming I found out the game existed
It's also a good trailer
It's funny how "the MMO-team" is really fricking good at designing contained setpieces but absolutely horrible at designing open MMO-zones.
No it's not
I see it on the store and website personally
>in your country
let me guess SEA?
USA
Same here. I don't get why some people are salty wit this game.
Seems like the DLC is putting in some work. I didn't expect that to happen tbh
>It's funny how "the MMO-team" is really fricking good at designing contained setpieces but absolutely horrible at designing open MMO-zones.
To be completely fair, this is their first AAA game with a team mostly composed of new hires. Keep in mind Kitase had a team of veterans and they didn't have open zones until Rebirth next year despite having done FF10 and FF13
Rebirth being open world and having Ubisoft towers is still giving me massive red flags.
CBU1 being the developers should be enough in the way of red flags for you to disregard it completely. They haven't made a decent game in nearly 20 years.
I'm more surprised this only unlocked three icons. Is there only three things to do in this entire swath of land? Never checked Rebirth gameplay
They are cute, hnnngh.
>no Jill dating DLC
Why even live tbh
Last interview said they will show the cute and soft side of Clive. I think we get something there, anon.
>Last interview said they will show the cute and soft side of Clive
Source? All I saw is them hinting at Perfect Clive ending
Arent these things optional? I dont see the problem
It's amazing how a single dedicated shitposter samegayging with multiple accounts and VPNs can color perception so much. Oh there's still the turnbasedgays who hate it and it's a Sony exclusive so it'll be shit on regardless. But look at this thread, a relatively normal thread with people talking about the game giving actual criticism. Then look at threads during aussie hours.
>it's a Sony exclusive so it'll be shit on regardless
When it releases on PC in 6 months people are going to suck it off hardcore. It has issues, but after playing XVI it makes VII seem downright juvenile in writing and the way dialogue is delivered. Not to mention the anime grunting.
I played FF7R after 16. While I think FF7R is a good game and it has some fun lighthearted moments FF16 doesn't have, the writing and dialogue really feels like a massive step-down.
Not enough to dampen my enjoyment or not be excited for Rebirth but it's just going to take some time to adjust.
Still excited for Cosmo Canyon in Rebirth
>Not to mention the anime grunting.
The grunting is bad. But you could give the same criticism about FFXVI's gratuitous swearing.
While FFXVI is by no means perfect, the dialogue is ace in this game.
?t=114
>You'll get no pity from me Kupka. No pity...and No. MERCY! Now DIE!
it is cringe and not of the kino variety
Two men talking shit with the intent of killing each other is my brand of kino. Beats dealing with Roche anyday tbh
nothing is kino with that forced gruff voice
kino cringe
I thought Gav was just going to be a random NPC fodder in his first scenes and he turned out to be the biggest bro of bros. I hope he marries Edda and just chills out as the leader of the Hideaway
Gav dlc soon, haha....
I don't know where the story will go but I kinda feel like the "no sequel or spin-off" comment to be a bit of a bait. The first DLC showed a functional airship in the dungeon. Why put this there if they're not gonna use it?
Either that or FF16 is getting a second expansion pass. After all Yoshida said his sales plan is 18-months long.
>Why put this there if they're not gonna use it?
They are obviously going to use it to get to the Leviathan DLC lol
>They are obviously going to use it to get to the Leviathan DLC lol
Ah maybe, I was thinking since you can buy them separately they're not going to reference each other but who knows.
>shame he won't be in any of the dlc
>DESPITE him chilling in the hideaway
Apparently they did not expect Dion to be this popular, what with him being their first gay character. Even websites like Kotaku took a shit on the character until they realized everyone loved him and how being gay wasn't his entire personality
Oh yeah, what was that about with Kotaku? Not gay enough? Does Dion need to suck a wiener in front of everyone to get approval? He is a shy about that, only a tiny kiss in front of the cameras.
It was because the camera didn't focus on Dion when they were kissing and they wrote a whole essay about how it's basically a hate crime and FF16 hates gay people
FF16 has heavy Clive x Jill scenes
Also Dion is white and beautiful as well as his boyfriend, and lgbt unironically hate fujos
Fujos liked the Hannibal show pair
They were repulsed by Chucky pedo racemixed gay pair (even the kids looked clearly uncomfortable with their scenes)
He literally said FF16 team got disbanded.
>looks silly
>dumb clothes
>dumb haircut
>accent is silly
>first thing you do is save him when he fricks up
>becomes pretty much the most likeable character in the game
Gav is goat.
KINO
It would have sold even harder imo if Kupka actually killed Cid rather than having the old man get surprise killed by Typhoon.
Thats because barry was busy seething at some bg3 thread and MHWild. People also said how ff7 rebirth became so comfy thanks to barry being busy with ff16 too
The problem with perception is that schizos have an energy good people dont have.
No one here is trolling you. The game is trending in those markets even if you don't like it.
Most people here just hate because there is no PC version most of these threads will go away.
Actually read my post before you reply?
I still think it’s kinda funny they localised out Jill’s declaration/confirmation that the Rosarian slaves were raped at Drake’s Breath, especially since they leave in some of the implications made beforehand and the game’s GoT influences were at least partially to appeal to western trends
They also localized out Jill being apprehensive to Clive taking Shiva, KojiFox is moronic, news at 7
That's because Jill said it earlier that men of the iron kingdom had their ways with Rosarian girls and women
it's just that in English repeating yourself is not seen as well as in Japan.
I recall her alluding to it but not outright saying it happened until then, and it does make that moment in the scene feel a small bit awkward with Clive’s “you fiend” reaction right after because he (and we) already knew they killed slaves at the drop of a hat. It’s doesn’t ruin the game by any measure it just feels like an odd decision is all
I don't get why this game doesn't have a happy ending in the first place. It's all suffering for the main character and everyone he associates with from start to finish. Killing him off on top of it while leaving breadcrumbs that ''maybe he's alive actually'' seemed incredibly moronic
It's not like it's a grimdark ending. The best FF endings are bittersweet.
But if you compare it to IX for example, XVI is IX's ending except it cuts off just with Vivi's deathbed narration before the play with Zidane revealing himself.
>XVI is IX's ending except it cuts off just with Vivi's deathbed narration before the play with Zidane revealing himself
That's what I'm saying, it feels like they wanted a homage with Clive returning and surprising everyone but then they changed their mind partway
It's a ripoff of the Tactics ending, not IX.
I only just noticed that the DLC really is set in the floating crystal area that was teased in the base game
I want Clive to sit on my face
F-femanon?
>New/True ending patched into the game later via DLC etc
Actual hack writing trend that is fricking garbage in every single video game. Not a XVI hater specifically, but write a full story with your video game jesus christ
How about they add a DLC that makes the gameplay something other than agressively mid?
>you take on Omega Aionios before your journey to the Origin where you fight an antagonist who refers to you as Logos
It’s amusing isn’t it.
Sucks this setting is getting dropped, because there is a ton of potential with this world and mechanics, but people are too afraid of change.
in 5 years this game will be considered lightning in a bottle
Eh I doubt that even if it really is because journos online made it their life mission to claim some dumbheaded shit like how Clive makes everyone turn "white" by removing magic and how it is racist for doing so.
Maybe with the PC port it will be more appreciated around actual gamers though
it's more like the static from a rubber balloon
It's just aping Ivalice in the setting, the only thins unique are how magic works and Bearers/Dominants.
Is because they only want to focus on Clive and Clive is their baby so we have to see things strictly from his point of view so no switching characters. I love Clive but being able to have a proper party would be fantastic. I don't care for Torgal, he is there for moral support and to look cute. Also how would a dragoon even work?
Well, Clive story would be told in FF16, and any future adventures can spread their wings more.
They told each other they'd want to go explore the world outside Valishtea. Just make it a road trip adventure, like Dawntrail but for FF16.
Did you know that FF16 even left hints that it could be possible to cast magic without using crystals or expending aether?
If magic is gone then what about bombs? Coeurl? A bomb is a ball of fire
They expend their own aether.
Bearers are just attuned to manipulate the ambient aether in the atmosphere. This is why bearers were less effective at casting magic when the mothercrystal where they resided was destroyed.
(Technically Dominants should still be able to prime because they use their own aether to do so. Like Titan attacking the Hideaway despite being in the blight)
So everybody has aether except normies? When they run out bombs basically die?
Everyone has aether but only bearers can manipulate them to create something (like fire magic). Bombs don't run out the same way that only Bearers are afflicted with the curse.
Creatures are part of the cycle of life and naturally replenish their own aether without overusing it. Bearers are made to use it day and night until their body can't take it so they petrify.
So yeah, if they run out of aether they petrify because they expend more than they can get back, but only humans go through it because of exploitation.
If you want to get deeper, this is the result of Ultima. Ultima made mankind in his own image, mankind evolves to become more like him day by day, mankind evolves to have the capacity to manipulate aether to make magic. Magic is essentially the power of creation that Ultima also has.
>So yeah, if they run out of aether they petrify because they expend more than they can get back, but only humans go through it because of exploitation.
It's implied all creatures suffer lithification to an extent but are adapted to it. The third eye of a stolas and griffin heartstones come to mind.
This is a good point, anon. Considering Valisthea didn't have mothercrystals before, I think all creatures just had to adapt through evolution.
The DLC1 also explains this in a way, because you see similar creatures as their contemporary counterparts but centuries/millennia old. And it turns out their species were part of a more intelligent/bigger civilization.
Lithification + Blight + Mankind + Abundance of aether must have set them back biologically. And then there's creatures like chocobos who adapted to aetherfloods
The game really did think of everything huh? And here I thought it was a plothole
Apparently he is the only one that keeps getting fricked in the ass
same anon but the DLC1 also explains it. The Fallen harvested creatures to siphon their energy to make their man-made mothercrystal, which is why it morphed into flesh everywhere. If you killed millions of people and harvested their aether, you'd get a mothercrystal too.
Only the kind of magic that Ultima's race created is gone. Goblins, orcs, coeurls, griffins, dragons, etc can still use aether and have evolved adaptations to deal with the crystals' curse.
Aether is lifeforce and the basic building block of what matter is made of. The only difference between a Bearer and a normie is that the Bearer is just able to manipulate it to cast magic.
>Party should have worked exactly like Kingdom Hearts at a minimum (FF7R at best), where they are NPCs you can swap out, with their own gear, ability customization, and Command prompts.
>Dungeons should have been multi-roomed labyrinths that home equipment for party members and Clive alike, and should have their stages reused for side quests/hunts/hidden bosses.
>End game gear (especially NG+) should have had the Eikon weapons you make grant a buff to that tree of abilities, or non Eikon gear grant interesting passive buffs that change some aspect of fighting. On top of that, they should have gem slots that allow you to attach base level Accessories to them, virtually increasing your Accessory slots to 6+ instead of just 3.
>The skills you choose to invest Ability Points into should have stat buffs associated with them, so early choices can impact HP/DEF/STR/WIL.
>Random encounters should exists where enemies have a % chance to spawn in some locations/biomes, with a chance of a higher powered Hunt-like enemy showing up at a lower chance.
>Rare chance a super kaiju boss shows up in the overworld that allows Clive & Co to turn into an Eikon, justifying the more open maps. (Clive/Ifrit would be player conrrolled; NPC Dominants would severly weaken it, making it killable on foot).
>Add more to the Beastiary, and toy with the conventional way Health & Stagger function between them.
>Sequel hook the shit out of the game through the synthetic crystal angle they introduced, and make a direct sequel that uses Synth Crystals as a parallel to Mana Potions, whole implementing an actual magic system to the game.
I could go on, but SE is likely going to keep this game in the rear view mirror and never touch it again.
I know you're mad 🙂
Why would anybody be mad that FFXV sold more than FF16 and 7R combined and has higher average fan reception than they do? FF16 cant even win any awards pertaining to the videogame itself
What's the point of ff16 winning an award for music if it can't sell?
Stay in your containment thread Barry.
Every thread is shitting on ff16
Can we get new ending for AoT please?
No
>Clive fricked his girl, ended the oppressive system without nuking 80% of the world's population, punched his archnemesis so hard he exploded and most likely lived, sacrificing only an arm and becoming a writer afterward
Absolutely mogged.
This is exactly what eren deserved though.....he never gave a shit about Mikasa
Clive lives either way. Jill stopped crying, the sun rose, a distant boat was in the horizon and one of the brothers had to write the book. Also only Clives hand turned to stone which we saw earlier means survival.
An extended ending showing him arriving will make ton of sense though
Do you think they are going to integrate DLC charms into the main campaign when PC version is released?
Because holy shit they are exactly what i wanted from customization.
Why was the story so mid?
It needed more mid actually
She is ok. Just your Rikku like wiz tech savvy hyperactive girl. I wish they would focus more on the tridisaster trio.
>no talk of gameplay
>the same clive and jill pic spam
everytime
The gameplay filters most people, and BG3 proved people only care about degenerate and emotionless sex in video games.
>the same clive and jill pic spam
I didn't post same pic this time
The first DLC is a good step up in difficulty, died a few times playing it
I'm currently going through FF mode and Barnabas kicked my shit in a few times because I had no potions left and I got greedy.
I fear I'll get rekt by the DLC bosses on FF mode.
I just got my shit kicked too by that bible humper. I avoided side quests and hunts but I did a few hunts and now I am strong enough to beat him. Also I garuda jumped my way behind him everytime he does his laser that takes over the whole screen bullshit. Bahamut Kamehameha is very effective on him
I don't know if it's optimal but I can't help using Garuda to lift myself up and then using the pound skill from Titan. Always so satisfying
Garuda is legitimately the best passive Eikon in the game simply for how many different ways it let's you mess with the game.
>Gab closer on small enemies
>Self air launcher on big enemies
>Extend the mid-stagger time on big enemies so you get additional free hits in
It's too useful to ever get rid of. Meanwhile Ramuh and Bahamut's passive are fricking trash and I can't ever think of a reason to use them.
Ramuh is the only one that is super questionable and I don't know how I could fix it. Maybe long press is the current one, while quick presses work as harry potter wand shots that stuns.
It could also have been a charge move that unleashes a large thunder or powers up your attack power. I'd use it before a stagger to just unleash everything
Bahamut is just as bad, for the exact same reason, it just doesn't seem like the case at first.
>Spend time hovering with dragon wings, waiting for a bar to fill up.
>Dodging helps fill the meter, but requires either a hyper aggressive enemy, or mobs of them.
>Finally fill up meter
>The attack rains weak ass hail that deals slightly more than Impulse, but takes 5x longer to charge than simply waiting for Impulse to come off cooldown and use almost 3x over in the same time frame.
I guess you're right but at the same time I don't want to stick to Phoenix/Garuda/Titan, it's too "vanilla" in that sense.
I'm hoping Leviathan is the variety I personally need. Apparently it might be a distance-based Eikon
When you mean passive you mean the ability that doesn't have a cool down on the right? I love Bahamut's abilities except for it's passive one. I love his laser and impulse because is going to hit no matter what and raises stagger and is fast and in some enemies it basically stops them. I love Garuda's passive but don't care for her abilities.
Bahamut's passive (maybe innate is a better term?) and Flamethrower ability are the only bad ones. Ramuh's (innate) ability is the ONLY bad thing about the tree. If they were to change it (and they probably should), I'd do something like this:
>When Ramuh is selected, all Lightning attacks through Abilities, Charge Magic, or Magic Burst Combo leaves a ticker on the enemy, with up to 9 total bread across any number of enemies (or all on one), represented as static discharge coming off the target/s, and an icon showing how many charges
>When the player hits O, they'll launch a number of lightning orbs equal to the number of total charges places on an enemies (no weird slow mo waiting while pointing the staff at everything, as it slowly ticks up).
I'm still coping thinking there must be some use for Ramuh's innate ability. Like surely they would have balanced it to not be THAT bad right?
I thought Megaflare can situationally be good. There are certain boss phases where you can trivially get out maxed Megaflares.
but yeah the base abilities were poorly balanced. titan is absolutely useless while Shiva is OP and makes titan even more useless
Bahamut passive is very good against bosses with long string of combos or to maximize stagger damage.
Have you seen this Omega fight video? This player is a monster and his use of Megaflare in the enrage got me creaming

Just does it multiple times. Worth it to watch from start though
>Playing the DLC on Normie mode
You didn't even beat the core game proper, Anon. Final Fantasy mode is the true FF16 experience.
>Not even Ultimaniac
lol, scrub
>Arcade Mode
Don't get me wrong, I'd like a NG++ for the core game.
I'm starting FF mode right about now but I'm trying to see if I should go into a self-imposed challenge. Something like only 1 ultimate skill and no potions.
I'm debating using thunder rod too. What do you think?
You will need your Potions in FF mode.
Normal mode without potions can be quite hard.
FF mode would be crazier
I love enemy step limit cancels https://youtu.be/F53MfLFgdAc?si=3XxJJAHhM0h8ROPj
The ending is already open enough and deliberately left open like that to make it a possibility that Clive does indeed survive
Barry didn't even bother shitting up this thread and made his own again.
That's good.
Just KH4 waiting room
Only 13(-2)-1 can save FF now
Say: Tetsuya Nomura
Incredible, a normal 16 thread
Don't tempt fate, anon. We haven't had this since June.
The synthwave aesthetics of this fight were incredible
>that theme
CHICKEN TENDERS
Sounds good and it really sold the absolute chaos that the fight is specially on the last phase with so much shit going on and you desperately dumping all your abilities to meet the dps check.
But I'm kinda bummed that it's just a remix of eScape and Order Yet Undeciphered, I wished it was something more original since this is XVI, not XIV.
this just being two XIV themes is a weird kind of self fellatio that you don't usually see with the series
Like imagine taking Gilgamesh and making up some new track for him and then using it again for your team's next game even when every other appearance still uses the old song.
To be fair, Omega FF14 is the most exposure and depth he was given. It's not like Omega has a personal theme to keep a tradition of. I could see eScape becoming his track in the future
if they were gonna reference a ff with omega, i'd rather them reference the ff5 battle theme
It's not like Omega ever had his own theme before
Because the zelinkgay is sperging there, he even abandoned his zelink thread
Just checked this thread out, fricking aids. Why is Ganker like this
He's been at this for 10+ years but has become unmanageable in the past 3, because he's been banned literally everywhere else, and Ganker is the only place where he can keep ban evading while using multiple VPNs to samegay.
Shhh, the barry containment is on the other side
Fricking hated the pink sky. It takes away from the beauty of the game and the characters
the whole thread is shitting on ff16, the frick are you talking about
Not really no, it'd interesting that you say that though
>which will make him a complete vessel who will be able to cast Ultima's Raise spell
The entire point was that even though Clive was the perfect vessel that was supposed to be able to contain Ultimas power, he wasn't, and no one would ever be, because Ultimas power was too great, even for Ultima in it's original form before it split itself apart into a bunch of different parts.
Clive having Leviathan wouldn't fix this.
Ultima cannot cast this spell because he shed his physical form corrupted by the Blight. He spend centuries waiting for mankind to evolve far enough so that Ifrit (his original body) appears in a person and have him absorb all elements to get more powerful. Ultima absolutely could have cast the spell with Leviathan making him complete.
In fact I expect Rising Tide to tell us that the reason Ultima couldn't get Leviathan was because it's outside his reach (the reason why the sky is blue) and that he intended to get it himself after making Clive his vessel.
Keep in mind Clive was NEVER told Leviathan exists, even Joshua kept his discovery a secret.
Pic related already is convincing me a tribe is purposefully keeping Leviathan in check to prevent Ultima to get to it.
What a trainwreck
How would shoving another Eikon inside of himself make it so his body isn't exploding after giving Ultima the succ?
The second DLC will be a flashback DLC to when he was a slave. The first Eikon they killed was Leviathan before they were sent to kill Shiva.
Rising Tide is 100% present time. We know narratively that each Eikon he absorbs makes him canonically stronger. Leviathan is the final piece of the puzzle to make him the perfect vessel.
Ultima cannot afford to lose Clive casting Raise because he'd kill himself in the process. Ultima is too self-centered for such a sacrifice.
Why would casting raise kill Clive?
Clive says it himself that as a vessel it is too much for him to handle casting Raise. His body wouldn't be able to handle the power he needs to harness to cast it.
Sorry I need to also add that I mean that in the context of Clive not having Leviathan yet.
Clive could survive casting Raise after absorbing Leviathan and making him complete.
clive could live long enough to see jill birthing 10 of my kids
>Clive could survive casting Raise after absorbing Leviathan and making him complete.
This is such an incredibly stupid take.
That makes more sense. Would he be able to cast raise on a corpse that's being dead for like an hour or two? Like Dion's corpse. What if he is little pieces already?
Technically, Clive could revive everyone. Ultima wanted to revive his people, eliminate mankind and remake the world, so Raise can do a lot of shit.
>Clive casts Revive
>All the Eikon bearers return in FF16-2; some party members, some enemies
>Plot is Joshua trying to find Clive, because despite dying to the casting of the spell, Clive also retroactively resurrects himself as well, but hasn't shown back up yet
>All the Eikon bearers return in FF16-2; some party members, some enemies
I could see that happen. I don't think Dominants are fundamentally bad person, they were all manipulated by Ultima. I think even Barnabas could have been a good person.
In fact, he alludes that he used to think like Clive back then too.
>Barnabas could have been a good person.
Oh i hope so.
>Clive casts Raise
>Barnabas and his mother comes back
I see no problem with this
That sounds awful and worse than XIII-2. Terrible. Also given how egotistic Ultima is, there's no telling if Raise would've actually worked, not on a single person, not on the world. Especially not on the latter because it's trying to get rid of the Blight with more magic, you know the very thing that causes Blight. Clive may resurrect Joshua but he'd never do it on a larger scale.
>Cid, Dion, and Benedikta are back, and are now parry members in the sequel.
>Joshua, Jill and Torgel are your starting characters.
>Gav, Tara and Byron as non Dominant party members who rely on black crystals to use magic, and can't enter Aether spouts.
>Find Clive 2/3 into the game, and get him.
>Hugo and Baranabas are unhinged buttholes that hate your ass.
Sounds based to me.
Wouldn't he be more selective? That way he doesn't need to say he is sorry about Dion
I guess it would fully petrify him instead of just the arm.
Have yet to finish the game but I was wondering what are the major differences with FF Mode when it’s unlocked? Thanks in advance
So now that we have an accesory that breaks the stagger limit to x2.0, can we get much higher?
Enemies will start around the same level where the previous playthrough ended and your level cap is raised to 100 (105 if you have the DLC).
Enemy placement in the linear levels is changed to have more difficult enemies and if you gather an accesory again you can combine the one you got in your previous playthrough and that one to get a better version of it.
Also, you can craft Ultima Weapon.
Everything's stronger and enemy packs throughout the game are changed to include endgame enemy types.
You can Zantetsuken no bar packs anyway, so the game throws a lot more yellow bar enemies at you.
Cranks the levels up on all enemies
Adds more enemies to basically every fight, early fights have advanced enemies from late game
Adds new abilities for enemies to use
Uncaps the level from 50
Has whole new sets of items/armor to grind
>he's here
Here we go again.
>the xvi shills are still on severe damage control
see
2 posts in and people already shitting on the game
the shitpost thread just hit bump limit
He crated another one, there's still hope for this one
There's still barrythread down there.
Literally half of the thread is him
FF homies don't deserve this.
No one does
Don't respond to bait
>Don't respond to bait
Don't respond to bait
>Don't respond to bait
I wish I could say reminding/asking worked but it doesn’t
Enjoyed the thread while it lasted
It's about the time.
I expect the ending to remain the same but get clarified at some point. Probably establishing that Clive survives but Joshua does not.
Im not gonna lie, inner voice feature really makes me love ffxvi again.
Actual soul, a feature no one asked for but that makes you smile as you look through them. Like that one obsessed girl changing her outfits as she switches crushes.
Soul.
Other FF installment definitely need this feature.
Idk about that, I like it here though
Same
ngl Torgal/Ambrosia ones were sweet
>Torgal questioning where is Cid through the game
>"Clive said he still watches over us"
What's this?
It's Inner Voice feature which discover main character and other character's thought on other characters to describe their dynamic.
Takai, I kneel. This is evidence that he can have good ideas.
I'm a simple man. I see any sort of relationship chart in my vidya, I like
Would have loved this feature if I had it when doing NG+ a couple of months ago.
>stopped playing ffmode 20% of the way through.
guess I'll start again so I can see all the stuff
>when the PC version comes out I'm going to have to replay the entire game on Normal difficulty just to get back to FF mode
No.... NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I personally don't have any problems with that but I wonder if they will let you carry your PS5 savefile to PC
>Get to Final Fantasy mode
>Play the game normally until Cid dies and then just skip all the dialogue and cutscenes that aren’t related to boss fights cause he was the only character I cared about
Anyone else?
We ride, bros.
Any ideas how Leviathan will play?
Oh wow Tidal Spray and Tidal Spit are not cooldowns, but abilities you can use as long as you have Tidal Gauge in Levi mode
Leviathan is clearly a gun.
>avenging this prostitute for years and looks pathethic
>she didn't even love him
I guess Odin's wiener is better than Kupka.
Doesn’t she like cid even more?
Benedikta unironically left Cid for Barney's wiener and she regrets it.
Clive and Jill deserve happiness after those years, really. They should have reproduce more often and have babies to repopulate Valisthea.
I thought Cid left her and ditched them both when he pieced together what Barnabas was plotting
I think she had to make a choice between following Cid leaving Waloed or staying with Barnabas and she decided Barnabas
Or did Cid not even offer her to choice and just leave without saying anything? From their interactions, she acts very abandoned by him — not as if she were the one to choose someone else
Barnabas is fricking insane. She should have fricked the dude that got an Ax to the face. He looked manly and is faithful
Kek
I love my adopted2 genki long braided hair know-it-all with a heart of gold daughterwife
Mid porn WHEN
Not soon enough
I mean, there is virtually no way to add an entire new Eikon wiithout it impacting the ending.
I think they'll just make the implications all the more obvious that Clive lives, by using DLC story moments.
Also:
>Ben Starr says he's not allowed to talk about his interpretation of the ending
>PAX happens, DLC are announced
>a couple days later Ben Starr goes to an official signing stream and says on record that "he thinks Clive will come back to Jill"
It's very obvious kek.
I hope they make clear the ending, i hate open interpretation ending.
I normally would feel okay with it if the game wasn't so Clive focused.
How the frick do you end the game without giving your protagonist a proper epilogue?
It's intentionally left vague so they have the option to make post-game content, or a possible direct sequel, Anon. There are a ton of side plot hooks left open by the end of the game that never get addressed on purpose.
I know. I think they ran out of time kek. That perfectly plays into just making extra content afterwards.
that'd be nice but I also like the way the current ending is done even though I don't like the overall result.
It'd suck if the DLC just kind of erases that instead of appends to it.
I doubt it and hope not, the screenwriter is adamant about leaving it open to interpretation.
It would still be ambiguous, but with way more hints that Clive survives, as opposed to now.
They probably won't even change the ending cutscenes, just infodump the implications of Clive being able to survive this ordeal in the Leviathan DLC itself.
>a couple days later Ben Starr goes to an official signing stream and says on record that "he thinks Clive will come back to Jill"
Sauce? I’d like to see
I’m not sure if the stream is still up but it was on Twitch. September 24. The streamily event where 4 VAs participated.
Every time Ben Starr got the quote “I’ll come back to you, I promise” to sign on his poster, he said “I love this quote because I think it’s true”.
Less than a month before this, during his interview stream with Dorys’ VA, he said he was strictly not allowed to talk about his thoughts on the ending.
Something clicked after PAX.
Out of the frying pan and into the freezer
They're going to have a stream about the DLCs in 2 hours today. Ben will be there.
Hopefully spilling some spoilers.
This man deserved to win best performance over that gay twink vampire wearing a kimono.
Where?

So it's been a while i didn't post here, it was a good ffxvi thread, bros.
I will never have a jillwife. Pain
It was. I have my own issues with the game but it was nice have genuine conversations with people who neither shit on it relentlessly nor are unwilling to accept a different opinion and what aspects were good and bad. I wish threads like that were more common on Ganker
Jill confirmed to be Clive's most beloved/important person. I see this as a win.
Was this in doubt?
Ofcourse, some people are just too dumb to understand their relationship.
