What bait? XBX gameplay is fricking terrible at all levels, granted Xeno as a series never had good gameplay.
Nevermind Sawano's garbage or the fact that the game is comically unfinished
I got memed into playing this shovelware ages ago, came back to revisit it recently too and nope, it's still fricking trash for mentally challenged "people", which I guess is the standard for the Nintendo audience.
Even as a pseudo MMO it's shallow as shit, there's nothing salvageable to XBX combat or really game design in general, the only people who would praise this game are those who don't really play RPGs and at best want some ultra generic and mindless "numbers go up" game, it's saving grace is Yanase's mechanical designs.

Filtered by what? A game about pianoing some baby tier rotations that never change for the entire game?
Nevermind being able to one shot everything with crafted Doll secret weapons, the only vaguely different fight in the entire game was the Rexoskell because it's the one fight in the game kinda forces you to use infinite OD, which you should always use anyway.

You need to download the Graphicspack then go into Enhancements and select what you want, it's just a cheat engine for the most part but there's some minor useful mods like making the quest icons pop in from a longer distance, unfortunately there's no way to fix the garbage party customization or the gameplay in general other than forcing drops so you don't have to waste hours of your life on a glorified Gacha, problem is that if you do so you'll instantly see just how shallow and devoid of actual content the game is, if you didn't already realize it beforehand of course.

I dunno man, I'm a pretty big storygay and I enjoyed the shit out of X. Yeah the story wasn't great but it also really checked my boxes for the other minmaxgay part of me.
This. This is also the explanation for a lot of the recent shite on Ganker.
If you see someone talking irrational shit about ToTK, it's someone who doesn't have a switch or PC able to emulate it.
If you see someone talking irrational shit about FFXVI, it's someone who doesn't have a PS5 and is assmad that they don't get to play it.
Go idort or stfu.
I don't agree with the takes that FFXVI combat is MMORPG combat, or that ToTK has less content than BotW, but my not agreeing with those takes does not make them not irrational.
>Everything you don't agree with is irrational, who cares what you think?
Anon, you're on a board where the most common complaint about totk and botw was cinematic.
Do you think that's rational?
Ganker Actually loves it. It's one of the few places where you can find a lot of people that enjoyed it. Primordia is fricking amazing, but I got my Wii U stolen after 1t hours in. I'll have to emulate it sometime.
Wonder if it's worth emulating though, if it's full of glitches, performance issues, crashes, that's a hard nope, also the lack of online functionality would mean getting some of the stuff turns into an insane grind.
XBX is the best emulated game on CEMU. Runs like a dream and all of the visual hacks and quality of life hacks increase its value 10-fold.
i emulated it first time last year ran almost perfectly
didn't know about this quality of life hacks what's that about then? because frick me some of the design decisions in that game like how you change party members are beyond moronic can't believe it makes through any sort of player testing
We didn't hate the game, we hated the western version of it aka the censored treehouse trash with the meme script. Real chads pirate it and apply the fixer patch.

We didn't hate the game, we hated the western version of it aka the censored treehouse trash with the meme script. Real chads pirate it and apply the fixer patch.
A few reasons: >censorship homosexuals cried about the boob slider going away in the NA release and campaigned hard against the game on Ganker >Sawano’s soundtrack was divisive — and the issue was made worse by the fact that there are no volume settings for the music to turn it down, off, or make it to where you can hear what characters are saying during some cutscenes because the mix is not done well much of the time >the game is focused more on the multiplayer online and open world than on the story, which disappointed some people >tatsu and Lynn’s relationship didn’t land with some people >character designs were at odds with the game’s graphics >most complex character customization and battle system in Xenoblade, alienating people who were fine with the relative simplicity of the original game >Wii U exclusive, which automatically inspires console warring in a year where Witcher 3 and Final Fantasy XV both released.
>>the game is focused more on the multiplayer online and open world than on the story
No, the game is absolutely focused on the story considering it has dozens of hours of cutscenes and it locks nearly everything behind it and doesn't even allow you to play with characters that aren't Elma and Lin for the vast majority of the game including sidequests
and Lynn’s relationship didn’t land with some people
Maybe because it's just the same fricking joke repeated over and over and over?
Granted the overly shitty localization added salt to the wound but people hating Tatsu is really not a big mystery.
And there's nothing complex to XBX combat, it's all smoke and mirrors, the game's not particularly different from XB1 and most of the additions like OD are just system bloat that doesn't fundamentally change the simple rotation based combat and reliance on Topple loops, nevermind Skell combat being incredibly barebones, "customization" is just slapping generic % multipliers and getting those interchangeable rotation between the weapons you wanna use so you can get infinite OD for the few fights you're forced to fight without your Skell.
Granted I never played XB2/3 (and I don't intend to either after X) so I don't really know if those are somehow worse than XBX, but I find that hard to believe.
>No, the game is absolutely focused on the story
Compared to the other Xenoblade games, the focus is diminished. It’s not minimized to the degree of games like Zelda’s newer entries, but the story is clearly in service to the game design this time around. >Maybe because it's just the same fricking joke repeated over and over and over?
I agree, but it didn’t bother everyone who played it, which is why I worded this point the way I did. >Granted I never played XB2/3, so I don't really know if those are somehow worse than XBX
The combat system is more simplistic than X in the subsequent games, but the design is different too. Less overall focus on gear and toppling and more focus on combos and chain attacks.
Does anybody know a way to mod out the music? I have modded Wii U with SDCaffine and a computer that can Cemu, but couldn't figure out how to do it. The music was a real filter for me, but I think I would really enjoy the game aside from that.
When it released I knew I would need to get a hard drive for it so I pushed it aside as something to do later, then I saw how the sound mixing was handled so never bothered.
>Yelv's story is the single worst cliffhanger in the game outside of the ending itself
Even in the fricking DLC Hackahashi can't help but not finishing his job, I hate it even more since I liked Yelv, Yelv, Axena and Doug were my homies
Never met someone who liked Doug, but good on you. Could never stand him myself, but my crew was often changing up with Yelv and Frye.
Still need to go back and get Nagi. >Yelv's cliffhanger
I hold onto hope for X Definitive one day for that
Doug is annoying as frick in the localization because they change a lot of his dialogue, he has the same problem as Lin where they turn him into an aggressive c**t for no reason, he's a good guy who's always looking out for his bros and I liked how he freaks out in the last chapter but still kinda keeps it together for the sake of the team, he's not that different from Yelv which is why I like him, I like people with a heart of gold who don't play victim, like Hope/Himeri or have forced sob stories they slap in your face at every turn.
Honestly most of the cast in X is fine, the only people who I actively dislike are Hope and maybe H.B.
As much as they liked screaming about censorship, it's not like she wasn't sexualized. Kids love the internet for screaming and shouting about how wrong everyone else is.
Censorship is censorship. The point isn't that kids need to be sexualized, it's that everything must be maintained between the original and what we get in the west.
This. I don't even give a frick about panty shots not being in Japanese versions anymore or a character's original design being less sexy. I just want version parity. FE Fates is an example. I wouldn't have even used the face patting bullshit but I don't think it should have been removed.
And as soon as the audience for Xenoblade Chronicles X see they don't have a breast slider and e-girl characters get a sports bra, they LOVE IT.
The LOVE that, now, they can scream and hoot and holler about how awful and terrible and wrong everything around it is. Screw "the point" of philosophical value or content; now it's a complete joy they can bark and whine and cuss and curse and claim it's their childish behavior is toooooooootally justified because of censorship! It's a thrill. And it's childish nonsense.
>all references to it after 2 have ceased.
Bro, there's a fricking class in XB3 called "Full Metal Jaguar" and the dlc directly references an event from X.
I don't hate it, I think nintendo only gays need to be humbled. The game's mediocre. TERRIBLE pop-in, enemy models constantly flashing if you target them, annoying UI, empty world, horrendously grindy if you actually want good augments and especially the endgame, the story ends just when it FINALLY starts, characters are all one note and boring except Lao.
It's just a really whatever game. I enjoyed it mostly because you can pilot a mech and the world design was very good, too bad you never find anything of value.
>Why did Ganker hate it?
It was delivered on to a console that was "cool to hate" by a company that was "cool to hate" for a franchise that became so popular it became "cool to hate."
And the Internet LOVES h8ers.
i really liked it. and i would even replay it. but the complaints about its mmo quest design are absolutely NOT overblown. it comprises the majority of its gameplay. it becomes excusable however because the world and sense of exploration are peerless to this day.
At least with the misc fetch quests, you could just go to the multiplayer terminal and buy most of the items they ask for. Unfortunate that now miiverse is dead and you probably can't get those tickets anymore.
The lead up to it put it up against FFXV, and the non-idorts took their sides and console-warred it. As someone who bought and enjoyed both, it was stupid.
No one hates it. Every thread I see about it is extremely positive. The moment it will get ported to a modern system people will nitpick its flaws and hate it again, but being trapped on the Wii U helps it keep a low profile.
Yeah, everyone discovering that Mira was more than just an incidental "crash planet" as the plot continued and continued and continued and more and more and more developed was really phenomenal.
Barely anyone who actually played it hates it. It's more accurate to say that almost no one played it.
It was targeted by the usual consolewar shitflinging, particularly the character models and the rap battle music were mocked.
But it still got daily threads for about a month after it released, with people discussing builds and posting their mechs.
>I refuse to believe that there's anyone
You're a moron.
I loved XCX and posted all kinds of screenshots in the threads that appeared on release. We had a good time, back then. I've still got the google doc spreadsheet we all used.
looking for some JRPG kino since XVI didn't deliver. X seems based with mecha stuff but i don't look into games too much before playing because i like going in mostly blind. downloaded 1 though, going with that for now
I don't hate it but XCX is side content: the game and it burned me out hard. The story content just isn't dense enough to break it up. The main games being story and side content heavy let me switch between the two whenever I started feeling burnout and then I could come back to either later when it feels fresh again.
>Californian pandering story >Lost tier writing >terrible battle system >didn't really do anything with mechs
Also Takahashi is a gay who defended the censorship it got and then Soraya Saga started accusing people of being sexist for disagreeing with her online about it.
combat is pretty trash ngl
unless you build properly foot fights take forever
all the ai companions do sweet frick all
mech combat at least is fast but just spam 2 moves and win
Was censored
Combat was pretty shitty, party felt useless
Probes suck ass
Story sucks
That one track in the city was horrendous
Plenty of characters have this ugly, uncanny valley look to them
I still love the theory that Mira is Hell and everyone there is already dead, and meanwhile L is just fricking jazzed to finally have some visitors so he's fricking around with everyone
Fricking fantastic game. Too bad you weren‘t around for it‘s discussion after release. The game‘s probably best when you go in without knowing shit. Getting lost and cursing the map for not showing area names is part of it‘s charm. It being Xenoblade works against it since people seem to have exaggerated JRPG expectations, even though XB1 was rather weak as a JRPG. If you play it like Monster Hunter in space, including doing the meaningless story only to progress, you‘ll see it‘s real value.
That was an issue for sure. People expected linear story driven shonenslop and were disappointed to get more mature game that focuses on an immersive world instead.
A ton of people that would've really liked it, ended up avoiding it because they assumed it to be a generic anime game.
>love Xenoblade Chronicles games for the characters >XCX has the legit worst cast of the entire franchise
I dunno. Exploration and the mechs are fun but it's a huge slog to get through because I have no motivation from story beat to story beat because I care about literally nobody but Elma.
The "im going to cook the nopon" skit was shitty after the second time they did it, let alone the tenth time.
Most Xenoblade fans consider X to be the worst game in the series, and their shit taste is the reason why there will never be a sequel.
[...]

Why would we care what you think if you weren‘t such obnoxious little shits? Coming to a thread about a game you don‘t like to make your infantile blog posts. No less insufferable than the munado pissbaby you oh so revere. Here‘s a thought, when a certain game has you spend 94% time fighting and exploring, these two elements should be it‘s strongest part, no? Would love to hear how the rest of the series compares to X regarding this. Anyway, give it a thought once you figured out percentages.

butthole aliens blow up earth, humans escape in colony ships. Your ship crashlands on planet shithole. The game is about constructing a colony in this new world.
Future humans flee Earth due to an alien attack. They leave, grouped by nation, on enormous spacecrafts, all under attack in space by the aliens. The United States spacecraft is caught and explodes during hyperlightsuperdimensionflightspeedtravel, crashing onto a planet no one has ever known about; Mira.
They can't leave. What's worse, their power supply is about to run out in just a matter of days. Unless they can find their generator, the humans will all die.
The game is about the humans rebuilding their crash site into a city, finding their generator, and finding a way off planet Mira. But... Mira is a strange place, and the aliens they've been fighting seem to be appearing, too... And entirely new aliens!?
1. FIND THE GENERATOR!
2. FIND OUT ABOUT MIRA!
>their power supply is about to run out in just a matter of days. Unless they can find their generator, the humans will all die.
You're close but that's not it.
>Guyssssss the cast to the story is baadddddd. I know this because I'm a fan of stories and I play video games for stories and XCX's story is greeaaattt but the cast is badddddd! Ha ha
You absolutely need the 2nd screen, it's how you use fast travel and manage the resource gathering "minigame".
You have two options. If you have a 2nd monitor, you can just have the 2nd screen there and use the mouse to interact with it when needed. The other is to map a button to "opening" the 2nd screen, which will show it as a new window on top of the regular one.
I wish for an XBX2 with the same progression structure as the first game and absolutely no connection to mainline. Even less story and more raw gameplay would be fine by me. Would absolutely not mind it having more anime-looking 3D models, however.
Also pure action gameplay would be cool if they can pull it off, especially if it affects mecha combat for the better.
It's not gonna happen because we can't have nice things.
Ganker is full of storygays despite claiming to only care about gameplay

As much as they liked screaming about censorship, it's not like she wasn't sexualized. Kids love the internet for screaming and shouting about how wrong everyone else is.
Censorship is censorship. The point isn't that kids need to be sexualized, it's that everything must be maintained between the original and what we get in the west.
This. I don't even give a frick about panty shots not being in Japanese versions anymore or a character's original design being less sexy. I just want version parity. FE Fates is an example. I wouldn't have even used the face patting bullshit but I don't think it should have been removed.
less sexy in a new entry*
And as soon as the audience for Xenoblade Chronicles X see they don't have a breast slider and e-girl characters get a sports bra, they LOVE IT.
The LOVE that, now, they can scream and hoot and holler about how awful and terrible and wrong everything around it is. Screw "the point" of philosophical value or content; now it's a complete joy they can bark and whine and cuss and curse and claim it's their childish behavior is toooooooootally justified because of censorship! It's a thrill. And it's childish nonsense.
UH UH
YEAH

Is there any way to fix the damage 2018 did to this board?
post ids
Most liked it, Nintendo obviously hated it because they've never attempted to port it and all references to it after 2 have ceased.
>all references to it after 2 have ceased.
Bro, there's a fricking class in XB3 called "Full Metal Jaguar" and the dlc directly references an event from X.
good post
feels like if ever it's going to come back it's now
remaster on switch 2 use same engine for xbx2
I bought capture card just to share Xenoblade X screens.
No regrets.
Didn't Wii U allow screenshots?
They are in shit quality.
also, they needed the now defunct miiverse
ii-u doesn't get the nintendo bonus
I don't hate it, I think nintendo only gays need to be humbled. The game's mediocre. TERRIBLE pop-in, enemy models constantly flashing if you target them, annoying UI, empty world, horrendously grindy if you actually want good augments and especially the endgame, the story ends just when it FINALLY starts, characters are all one note and boring except Lao.
It's just a really whatever game. I enjoyed it mostly because you can pilot a mech and the world design was very good, too bad you never find anything of value.
>Why did Ganker hate it?
Because it's basically a PC exclusive now.
Ganker hates everything.
I always thought that was the general rule.
Various reasons, but at least at the end of the day, there are those of us who thought it was great
>Why did Ganker hate it?
It was delivered on to a console that was "cool to hate" by a company that was "cool to hate" for a franchise that became so popular it became "cool to hate."
And the Internet LOVES h8ers.
Because it's mediocre as frick outside the exploration.
i really liked it. and i would even replay it. but the complaints about its mmo quest design are absolutely NOT overblown. it comprises the majority of its gameplay. it becomes excusable however because the world and sense of exploration are peerless to this day.
At least with the misc fetch quests, you could just go to the multiplayer terminal and buy most of the items they ask for. Unfortunate that now miiverse is dead and you probably can't get those tickets anymore.
Forced english dub and it was awful
Because it's Xenoblade Andromeda.
Bad Localization more or less. Ganker really cares about breastsliders.
The lead up to it put it up against FFXV, and the non-idorts took their sides and console-warred it. As someone who bought and enjoyed both, it was stupid.
>Getting the urge to set up my Wii-U to play this again
I just know I'm going to start playing and stopping the moment I get my robot
No one hates it. Every thread I see about it is extremely positive. The moment it will get ported to a modern system people will nitpick its flaws and hate it again, but being trapped on the Wii U helps it keep a low profile.
it's something about this planet haha
I loved XCX. A lot.
I fricking love this plot element
Yeah, everyone discovering that Mira was more than just an incidental "crash planet" as the plot continued and continued and continued and more and more and more developed was really phenomenal.
Barely anyone who actually played it hates it. It's more accurate to say that almost no one played it.
It was targeted by the usual consolewar shitflinging, particularly the character models and the rap battle music were mocked.
But it still got daily threads for about a month after it released, with people discussing builds and posting their mechs.
If you don't like Sawano you don't deserve to play X
EVERY track in the game is fantastic.
I generally do like Sawano.
X is probably his absolute worst work ever and he should never compose for video games again.
Nah most tracks are good, I agree I NEED A BIGGER GUN and the MLA tracks are a meme but the rest is pretty good.
I refuse to believe that there's anyone who actually:
>liked the first game
>played X on Wii U
>liked X
It has absolutely none of what makes the rest of the series good, and the only way to make it bearable in the slightest involves emulating with mods.
I had 400 hours in the Wii U version, and that's after I had played XC1 on the Wii 3 times.
It's a good game.
It was the lowest drop in quality from 1 to me with some unique high points unlike 2 and 3.
>I refuse to believe that there's anyone
You're a moron.
I loved XCX and posted all kinds of screenshots in the threads that appeared on release. We had a good time, back then. I've still got the google doc spreadsheet we all used.
should i play this or 1 as my first and potentially only one?
I'd say 1 in both cases
1 is a better game
x is a more unique game
What do you want from whichever game you pick? What makes you want to play a Xenoblade game in the first place?
The answer is almost certainly 1 either way, but there might be some rare circumstances where recommending X makes sense.
looking for some JRPG kino since XVI didn't deliver.
Doesn't Ganker love this game?
Either way it good
>Californian pandering story
>Lost tier writing
>terrible battle system
>didn't really do anything with mechs
Also Takahashi is a gay who defended the censorship it got and then Soraya Saga started accusing people of being sexist for disagreeing with her online about it.
I loved it
still haven't played and don't care about Xeno 1-3
UH
YEAH
Did not hate it, but did not appreciate that the battle system turns into mandatory cheese when the enemy levels go beyond 60.
combat is pretty trash ngl
unless you build properly foot fights take forever
all the ai companions do sweet frick all
mech combat at least is fast but just spam 2 moves and win
Ganker is mostly dudebros who think Nintendo is "too kiddy"
Was censored
Combat was pretty shitty, party felt useless
Probes suck ass
Story sucks
That one track in the city was horrendous
Plenty of characters have this ugly, uncanny valley look to them
Friendly reminder that he was the fricking devil.
>xeno tools
qrd?
I wish XC1 was generic
This is why no one likes you X Black folk. Your game has little merit on its on so you have to try and shit on everything else. It's just pathetic.
Most Xenoblade fans consider X to be the worst game in the series, and their shit taste is the reason why there will never be a sequel.
>why there will never be a sequel.
Good.
Nignog music, censorship. I was wiiu owner but tried it pirated because of censor.
>love Xenoblade Chronicles games for the characters
>XCX has the legit worst cast of the entire franchise
I dunno. Exploration and the mechs are fun but it's a huge slog to get through because I have no motivation from story beat to story beat because I care about literally nobody but Elma.
The "im going to cook the nopon" skit was shitty after the second time they did it, let alone the tenth time.
clap
clap
honk
censored garbage I'm glad it flopped along with Wii-U and its creator
What's it about?
butthole aliens blow up earth, humans escape in colony ships.
He is trying not to spoil the major plot twist.
>Guyssssss the cast to the story is baadddddd. I know this because I'm a fan of stories and I play video games for stories and XCX's story is greeaaattt but the cast is badddddd! Ha ha
Who are you quoting?
Both the story AND the characters are bad.
I disagree with your opinion.
>Why did Ganker hate it?
It's a Nintendo game.
name my band
If you emulate this, do you need the tablet screen for anything or can you play without it like botw? How would you set that up?
You absolutely need the 2nd screen, it's how you use fast travel and manage the resource gathering "minigame".
You have two options. If you have a 2nd monitor, you can just have the 2nd screen there and use the mouse to interact with it when needed. The other is to map a button to "opening" the 2nd screen, which will show it as a new window on top of the regular one.
I see, thats good to know. I was worried it was one of those games that had mandatory gamepad usage. Appreciate the info anons.
You can swap between the screens.
Are there any specific hacks/patches that I should get for this? I know about the undub and uncensor for the boob slider but dunno what else.
