I'm honestly surprised they put in the effort when they know that people just reset if somebody dies these days.

Given that you didn't know that, you might also be interested to learn that path of radiance has massive branching dialogue paths for what happens when characters who speak in the story and various base conversations die. It can result in some pretty dark shit if you let one of the brothers die, for example.

I'm mostly joking, but what sticks out to me is that if Matthew is dead when they find Leila's body, he's buried next to her. It's a nice touch for stuff like that[/spoilier]

What's funny is that if you do a training skirmish (they spawn on castle tiles), allies that are KOed do not die even on Classic. They could have easily programmed it the same way for Emblem trials but it would ruin strategy in these battles since you can sacs units without repercussions. In other words, it's moronic.

Why do you talk like me? Are you me?

What’s funny is that Skirmishes that are actually Training battles (like in a city with the nation’s army), the perma-death is turned off.

I plunged my sword into him like it was fricking nothing, Allear, in his last moments he wept bitter tears and cursed you for bringing him into this war, Allear. Did you see him die, Allear? No? I thought not, you were preoccupied I suppose, even though you can literally turn back time and erase his death... or at least you could. It is too late for that now Allear, his death has been sealed, and it is all your fault. How will you explain this to his little shithole pisswater village I wonder?"

The emblems in general are really casual about fights to the death. It's kind of the same with Advance Wars where the generals act like sending legions of troops to their death is fun playtime.

      Anonymous

I mean, all of them have been through wars of their own so they're probably pretty desensitized to it at this point. When you're a metaphysical copy of somebody (that knows you're a copy, no less) who has barely any free will of your own outside of very few moments, it's easy to believe you'd stop having a conscience about shit like that. Ephraim had the right idea, just hang out in the ring until it's time to fight and then go back. Stop trying to socialize with sociopaths.

Only Alfred is English and it wouldn't be weird to see a French person having that name. Chloe is a Greek name (seen plenty of French Chloe too) and Etie is made up but the closest origin would be Greek too.

I don't see how. Flintstones style? Or some sort of crank the operator inside has to move with ungodly strength to roll it forward? I can't imagine that thing being light enough for the latter, and too impractical for the former.

                Anonymous

Thinking on it, maybe an ingenious pedal system with a gearbox like a bicycle could work, but still, it might be too heavy to be moved by one operator alone.

Honestly, it's like any of the recent ones where the only units you'll want to deploy just a unit that can solo everything and skip the turns, since the dozens of enemies just bum rush your party.
At least with Awakening and Houses, you could partner up a secondary unit to level them up also.
