Lmao no, I had around 500 orbs saved to try and snipe green for some more Soren copies, but I had AWFUL luck and only summoned a single copy, and only with the help of that new three dots system. I got the free one from doing oh so many summons as well.

I have been dying for an Amelia alt
I remember for the longest time near the start of the game she was my white whale, then I finally got her and proceeded to slowly but surely get her to +10 and max investment. I was so excited when she got her refine, but then it slowly fell off to the point I was debating swapping it for seasonals every time a new axe dropped. Was pretty excited about her resplendent, but better art didn't make her a super good unit. Once arcanes happened I reworked her kit (from the distant counter, special fighter, aether one I had been using) to benefit from it and turned her into a really effective close range tank
that's a boss ass Amelia. Any specific reason you went for the resistance refine on downfall?. Giving me second thoughts of comitting to the atk/spd bond 4, special fighter 4, atk/spd near save build I've been slowly getting fodder for.
Nta but my guess is to probably patch up her comparatively lower Res, since double Close Def and D/R Near Save is also giving her Res to work with to defend against dragons

said exactly, it's just to get a bit more res. I wanted her to be a *little* more balanced in her defenses, I'm kinda treating it as if it's a third boon stat, I could redistribute the boon from def to res to get a bit further balanced, but I haven't felt the need.
Also, she's still missing the one more to each stat since I forgot about the flower increase, gonna go do that now!

Which would you lot recommend as the best of the batch? I'm leaning between Soren (because my Tellius barracks sucks) and Corrin (because I don't have a good colorless far save).

from what I have gathered from various comments, Corrin is nothing more than the latest save armor that will be powercrept by the next one, Gullveig is mediocre, but apparently really good with characters that can help her get around her gravity drawback, Soren/Robin both have great utility/support features which help them stay more relevant.
If you're between Soren, and Corrin, and only want Corrin because she is a save armor, then perhaps Soren is better because he is supposed to be able to turn anyone into a save armor. The drawback being that you need to run Soren with that person which takes up a slot.
TLDR
Soren is supposed to be better and less likely to get outdated because of his utility compared to corrin. AFAIK Soren can also turn someone else into a save armor.

Prefer an ez skip as I have a lot of reruns coming up that I need to roll for, and other characters like Kvasir/Mythic Gullveig that I want to save for, and snag a few copies of.
Assuming all the engage terrains are added, what would the ice tile terrain do? Do you think standing on it will provide +1 movement to units on tile or will the tiles act like pathfinder beacons and no move is lost walking over them? What tile/terrain do you look forward to and which do you fear will be busted?

I fear the eventual fog tiles, since they equate high Avoid to Dodge (ie, Damage Reduction), so it'd be a tile with DR
Yeah DR tiles would be a pain if they existed. I wonder if IS is setting up to add terrain as an obstacle for new AR/SD/story maps? I could see terrain such as Miasma/fire tiles to inflate enemy stats or damage output without increasing enemy BST.

They'd still be annoying atm since the only counter to terrains is to set your own terrain to overwrite theirs. But that requires an action from you with Corrin or attacking into a unit with flared sparrow.

Wind tiles if they existed would bug the game most likely since Cavs are probably coded to never occupy a space with gaps/forest. And what would even happen if your cav unit lost the ability next turn? My only guess is that you still can't pass through forest but can teleport to the other end assuming you don't occupy a space where Cavs normally can't stand when you attack/end turn.

She eventually grows out of it entirely in the epilogue but when you S rank her in Fates she just brings it up less often in the PQ lines and in some of the JP dlc she brings it up only a little bit if you marry her. One of her PQ lines is

Damn, 2 week purging seems a bit harsh. I normally purge when they reach 4+ weeks, then purge people with 4 weeks and terrible builds, and finally rid my list of allies who all built the same unit ( ex:B! Edelgard, common pool units, strong grail units, and etc.)

I've added Counter Roar 4 to my H!Sothis' kit now, she is looking much better with it. Also all the counter roar units I've ran into in arena assault are really bulky due to their high sustain, like Arcane Grima users having 14 HP gains on top of devastating counter attacks.

How good would Counter Roar be for Askr and Flame Tribe Mordecai? I've been thinking of changing their skills up and I feel like it could work well for them but I don't want to commit without some input. For reference Mordecai has Fort Def/Res 3, Lull Atk/Def, Atk/Def Menace and Mythic Boost SS.
It's supposedly really good on Askr since he can stack the True DR with regular DR. Not sure about Mordecai.

Kinda fricked up how L!Robin didn't get as much fear mongering as F!Edelgard did in her prime.
because at the time F!Edelgard was THE mountain to overcome. she warped the meta far more than he did and had a more immediate impact. when L!robin was released there were other mountains than himself we had to think of
Maybe it's because of his status as a Legendary? Whereas Fallen Edelgard was on a sparkable banner, showed up on several regular banners, and could potentially just show up out of the blue, outside your door,
When fedelgard was released, there was genuinely nothing else like her, before her, armors were generally relegated to being good only in one phase, but suddenly we had fedelgard galeforcing her way across the map by herself, and killing 2-3 of your units while doing so, all while being near fricking impervious on your player phase. It was the first time since horsecancer meta that you needed to build to counter a specific unit, and even then, a lot of f2p counters were inconsistent, because the margins were so slim that a different build on said fedelgard could make the difference between victory or defeat. All of this while being on a highly popular character, so you were just fricking guaranteed to see here in 1 out of every 3 interactions with other players.
The thing that set Fallen Edelgard apart wasn't that she was the most threatening unit in the game at the highest levels. She wasn't, even when she was new. What set her apart is that if you didn't have one of the units that could answer her, you might as well just surrender because you're not killing her(at least not without losing someone in the process), no matter what you do.

I think I found a good use for F Shez's prf: Aether spam
SS4, and TP4 can all help her loop it pretty quickly, it can pierce through DR, and her weapon can provide the extra Special charges necessary to get that loop going, Aether provides her healing too so she can stay topped off
Brave Robin's Rally Spectrum also helps a lot

At least I'm glad this is my first gacha, pretty much taught me to never touch another gacha ever. The only reason I'm still here is because I like FE, but holy shit, this game takes an special effort on bringing anyone down pretty quick.

If poorly coded I hope IS makes a mistake similar to Valve when they accidentally coded some old crates to give out 100% Unusual cosmetics. But for FEH it'd be every pull being a 5* hero.
We kinda had something like that once with the bugged hero fest.
Though not as extreme obviously.
But the units were not entirely at better rates and was kinda risky. I was fortunate(?) enough to not get but one old unit that was removed as a pity breaker. So all I got was 1 unit for compensation sadly. But I guess that was the closest equivalent in this game we seen so far.

The effective rate for a focus was 5% base + 3% off focus / percentage of old off focus units you should not have been able to get
I don't remember the exact numbers but it was like ~7.5% focus rate, which comes out at ~1.875% for a specific focus unit. Even better than the original surtr banner that was only 1.5%.
And on top of that you also got to keep the old pity breakers.
As far as rates are concerned this was by far the best banner in the games history.
It happens some times, last fallen banner for example I ended up getting 3 F!Byleths in less than 10 pulls and about other 5 5* and 4* specials, of course dupes (I think I got 2 Ishtars and 2 Floras)
So, RNG code a shit, you'll always get plenty of copies of one thing, just hope the seed is good and you'll walk out with a lot of copies.
Did that already, was fun before, but it isn't kicking anymore, my last +10 was Thrasir and I felt absolutely nothing despite the fact I like her. I'm honestly just burning all the fodder that was collecting dust and building units for the sake of it. But I'll probably uninstall after that.
Game is way more fun when you hoard your orbs for a +10, also seeing the orb count growing each day is really satisfying. Of course when you're playing and grinding without any real purpose and spend them everyday, then of course the game will be a lot more boring to play

We get ~3600 orbs a year. You're statistically very likely to get a +10 by 1500, so that's enough to +10 two units and still save over for the next year.

I do it for dragonflowers. Also, when are we going to get to exchange one type of flowers for another type? I don't need armor flowers, and having 7k spare flowers isn't going to magically make me want to build another armor unit if that's what IS is hoping for.
For some reason I thought Lull 4s were stronger. -4 + number of bonus effects feels a bit tame. Was about to replace Phys NFU on my Cath with that, but think I'll stick with Phys NFU for now.
Dagger infantry B skills unfortunately seem all kind of lackluster aside from maybe WoM 4 or maybe Special Spiral 4 if you don't mind the redundancy of negating DR for faster Lethalities.
All out of torches. The search for Atk/Spd Oath begins. She has Ruptured Sky since mine actually already has Lethality because Volke won't leave me alone so now all my daggers have Lethality.

What are you talking about? Yuri upon release was considered one of the best daggers at the time. He had a variety of builds like AoE special, nuke, trap breaking and etc. And specifically because of him we got hex trap to prevent him from getting free initiation without consequence in AR. He had everything (at the time) you'd want in a dagger such as extra movement, canto, slaying, and a Prf assist that enabled you to make offensive/defensive plays.

It was at "less than 300" months ago. You can check yourself, in fact I ask that you do so you can post unbiased results.
Just go into the ranked mode, do a match to get ranked, and then check your placement. It'll show you your number.
You'll be put at the very bottom, so that will be the max amount of players in the mode.
People used to say "Go in and lose a match to get ranked, you get ranked Top 300 which gives you the best rewards for no effort!" so many "players" there are also people who don't play it at all.
that's only if you've gotten into the top tier, that you can surrender for max rewards. if you start off with a 0 score you get rank 30,000 ish.
it's still really pathetic that the mode has had 30k players in its lifetime when every tempest trial has 210k.

It might be split into different brackets based on servers/population groups or something that splits up playerbase. if it LESS than 300 players then I doubt I would be able to get a match in sub 1 minute like I was not too long ago. some games have ranked systems that don't calculate for the entire playerbase. I think LoL had a similar system years ago where people were put into a bracket, and your rank was relative to a much smaller population of players, but you climbed in a way that if you were still top 1% you were still top 1% to all brackets. It's a shitty explanation, but it's been years.

The only thing I can think of is like, if you have an accessory equipped, like a hat would let Sommie, idk, warp and ignore DR or whatever (since Sommie does always follow you around).
The game is very fun and the Paralogue maps, the Emblems in general, the entire game, it's all nice fanservice (not in the lewd way, just in the "hey remember this" way). Honestly, Leif's Paralogue was my favorite, both because and despite the fact that it was pretty brutal.
The problem is that the writing and story are just so cheesy and dumb that you have to just have to shut your brain off. You can see every story beat coming from a mile away. I think there's a good amount of both self-awareness and earnesty that I was able to enjoy it, but if you're looking for anything in depth or anything deeper than that, you aren't gonna find it in Engage.

Zelgius does wear his black knight gear in Radiant Dawn so I guess they went with that because it was already familiar to FEH players (Though his red armor would've been great...). I have both arcane swords and Savvy Fighter 4 as well as Special Fighter 4. Which combination would work best on Valentine's Hana? I feel like there's a lot of overlap with these skills, so I'm having a hard time deciding
Devourer + special fighter is probably the best combo in general, but for SD the -4 atk/spd, along with the DR from savvy might be more useful than the sustain from special fighter, even if the NFU effect overlaps with Devourer's.

I honestly thought Soren was the hardest unit to kill on the map. Him giving the others the savior effect caused me to waste my turns killing everyone else and have no one left to attack him. He'd then proceed to nuke a unit and I had to restart several times. Corrin I was able to enemy or player phase her 1st turn with no issue. You just got to kill her before she activates her stones of you want to be able to consistently kill her.

When a neutral unit gets merged to +1, it gets +1 to their highest 3 stats to make up for the lack of a flaw that gets patched up on the first merge. When you give it a boon, the game retracts those bonuses given to you on the first merge

If you have a Seidr/Freyr then you should be able to test it out in AR defense tests..
Or just look through your friend's defenses to see if any of them have a Freyr deployed if you don't have Freyr.

I have a Gotoh with the same defense as Freyr, and the guy I faced didn't scratch the team, so I actually got to try it out. I admit I didn't know his weapon blocks counterattacks from everything in the game aside from daggers/bows (thought it was just 1-range weapons), but still, I feel Ashera should've survived combat from him with all those buffs/debuffs since she's a Res-focused unit. All these Tea units sure are strong.
An offensive unit is only good if it can beat the best tanks in the meta, sadly this is just the inevitable march of powercreep. Soon a new tank will come out that can tank it, and in turn, a new nuke that can kill that tank will come out.

FEH art is weird. Sometimes you have artists that have drawn the same character in Cipher, and it looks great, and shows they should know what they're doing and then you see the artist draw the same character in FEH and frick it up or make obvious mistakes. You can even see some of their other works of art they post online and things look great. I'm not saying artists can't make mistakes, but sometimes it feels like they shouldn't be making some of these glaring mistakes.

Otr had the misfortune of having to be used to explain Reginn's backstory because Fafnir was too busy having schizophrenic meltdowns to communicate it, and he wouldn't know in the first place. With this much screen time he became hated by a lot of people . All things considered, it wasn't the worst as book 5 used Otr to explain Reginn, and he was also part of Reginn's goal to just get her brothers to settle down.
That's not true, there was one person on twitter who commissioned a decent amount of art of Otr, and her OC summoner. so at least 1 person likes him. It's still a shame we haven't gotten Fafnir, but perhaps next year for fallen banner.

The issue is Eitri's whole position doesn't work if she knows Reginn's backstory, and knows she exists. IIRC Eitri was supposed to watch over the kingdom, and one of the reasons she was tinkering with the summoning stuff was to try to oust the usurpers that killed Reginn's parents. It's why she didn't do anything to stop Fafnir from taking over as she wanted them dead. If She knew Reginn was alive, and the backstory behind it then the entire plot changes, Reginn probably changes as a character, and Fafnir might not even exist.
Eitri being really shitty at her job is the reason book 5 starts.

Clash is good, it'll work on both phases and can protect her from any Atk and Spd debuffs, letting you buff those stats pretty safely
Although if you had Spd Smoke (preferably 4 for more DR) I think Catch would be better for a higher Atk and Spd ceiling

My suggestion would just be to hover between 19-20 and take opportunistic 21s when you have the chance due to circumstance. Build grail units you like, they might get used eventually, but you can't really count on it. There are so many grail units that most grail units will be the bonus unit twice, once on their initial run, and some time eventually years later.

I believed they either fricked with the rates down the line, because getting what you want is borderline impossible on those 4% banners nowadays. I once got 5 copies for a merge project in exactly 100 orbs and I used to regularly get something on the free rolls. But a few months ago I tried on two seperate occasions and only managed to get one merge in 200 orbs both times
It's just gacha being gacha, I got four copies of S!YTiki with pretty much no pity breakers in less than 180 orbs to finish +10'ing her, but I have spent over 500 orbs on the current CYL banner, all the way to the third spark, and I only got three copies of featured units with like four pitybreakers. What really doesn't help is how getting the color you want when rolling is pure chance, so it adds an extra layer of luck because you can go five whole attempts without the color of the unit you want, only to be pitybroken, it's by far the worst aspect of FEH's gacha mechanic.

I'd probably go with NFU assuming your seal slot is being used by Distant Counter. Getting hit twice by a slow high atk unit with guaranteed follow-up on enemy phase hurts.

I tried playing SD and was immediately crushed by some whale team including Freyr, BCorrin, and LHinoka. This sucks
Freyr was a mistake. There needed to be a condition to his C skill activating beyond "if unit exists".
There's a reason nobody plays it. It's only like 200 people now, and most of them "play" it by losing on purpose and then not playing seriously.
I've considered trying to auto it. Just have an auto clicker set up to enter SD every 3 mins or so and let auto battle take care of the rest.
So have I, the problem is that Unrestricted is filled with gigawhales that will crush my team netting me 0 points, making it worthless to just auto the matches, while Book III and Prior is dead as frick, where I've ran the timer out several times in a row without a match found. The entire mode needs to be removed, absolutely no one likes it.
You'll get Favor at a snail's pace, but it's still a faster pace than the alternative of not doing it at all. Just save it for the weekends when you get an extra 10 points off matches you happen to score over 0 for.

From my understanding, only Book 3 and prior is dead while Unrestricted is still kept alive by the same handful of people that are somehow in love with SD. Otherwise there wouldn't be max favor instances of recently released units.

Personally I think powercreep is only really affecting SD. I can generally still power through modern units in AR through superbuffing a year 1 unit (until blue buff nullification becomes more common on meta units), but you can't really set up like that in SD.

I'd say the first real problem for me is Freyr since high defenses and Lull Atk 4 means my usual tank is doing 0 damage to him and I'll probably have to start bringing either my Tine or Citrinne for him. Last week I just used Ashera to kill him, but she needed good setup or get danced to do so.
Disclaimer: I don't bring bonus units outside of Chaos season, basically giving me an extra unit to bring in cases where one would otherwise be forced to bring Alfonse or some shit for the extra Lift score. I simply don't care about maxing out AR score enough to change my AR team every week to fit in a bonus unit.
Just did the top 2 highest ranked people on my friend list. Buffs are pretty powerful. I can't beat every defense I come across in AR, but I've never gone through all 7 of my ladders using a superbuffed Lene on Light season and Mia on Astra season. Peony/Ash/Eliwood are replaced with Ashera/Elimine/Astrid on Astra season to retain Bonus Doubler and Null Panic on both seasons. I use 2 of the 3 weekly blessings you get from daily AR rewards to swap Kaden and Triandra's blessings each week so I can always bring them. I didn't use Eliwood's Visions of Arcadia Canto to simulate shota Eliwood's version of the skill since it would be better to have shota Eliwood so you can actually give him proper blessings (Canto'd on Eliwood himself since shota comes with Trace).
Also, Embla isn't always unavoidable unless they bring 2.

you should probably just use devourer. you'll lose out on 10%dr and 5 damage, but getting all the other benefits is worthwhile. my florina has qiang + aether + gambit 4 and i'm satisfied with her performance

I've read the post, I agree you could get away with it with it while using devourer because it has DR baked in it but for an axe unit with no other form of DR I would avoid a weapon that would take away from its full potential.
From looking over the inheritable axes I'd go with plegian axe (if you run debuffs), seahorse axe, or wooden tackle. I'd go wooden tackle since it provides debuff on the enemy, user buff in-combat, and sustain with 10 HP heal. Special is either miracle or Aether. Everything else looks fine with CD4, CD3 and A/D near save.

On a Near Save unit is pretty bad since they have to be solo for its effects to kick in. I do think Plegian weapons are underrated if you can actually keep a unit solo with them, though.

So go seahorse axe or wooden tackle depending on if you want a second attack or more bulk.

After all of the main characters got their legendary alts, they moved on to their significant others, and now they seem to be going after the Nynas (weird that Guinevere got a legendary version and Elincia got relegated to an Ascendant). After that, who do you think should be next? I think it should be the Minervas (Minerva, Altena, Olwen, Miledy, Jill, and Say'ri), since they usually have more to work with than other units.
I think even IS knew that Elincia would not sell, so they put her on a regular Tellius banner.

We've literally never had a lead OC girl get a seasonal alt other than NY, except for Fjorm.
Fjorm is the only one to get a Summer or Bridal. Eir, Peony, Reginn, Ash, and Seidr never got other seasonals.
Ranged units have become so busted that ranged Far Save units have been mostly fricked because they can't inherit Hardy Fighter. The only ones that can stand against them are the speedy ones like NY!Takumi it seems.
Well, at least soren can turn others into far saves. I'm surprised there hasn't been more talk about crazy combinations with him. Characters like legendary Guin or one of the miccys with high res and effective damage seem like good combos.
Making Near Saves with Soren is better because of GSR, Diamant and B!Dimitri, but non-armored Far Savers will be in trouble because they don't have access to any unpierciable DR, with some notable exceptions like N!Camilla, who doesn't need to tank anything at all, and L!Robin, who's one of the most busted characters in the game and can just outstat everything (Expect Unity-Cancelling effects soon because of him alone).
I'd rather a unit with both high def/res rather than just res. Summer Ymir and Ascended Eir seem like good options for their Miracle effects, but both can lose if their opponent can set them to 1 HP on their first hit, survive a counterattack, and follow-up to finish the job.
What year 1-2 unit would you definitely build if they finally got a Resplendent?
From the units I didn't already build, probably Navarre. His prf looks like it could be fun to use with Special Spiral 4. Or even as a regular Godsword with Devourer.

For me it'd be Medeus since protection from chip damage is just that good and locks out AR-O players from using bolt tower as their main win condition. Another hero I'd want to see get an alt is Formortiis because his Nightmare effect is just funny to see when it causes the opponent to lose all their actions due to poor spacing.

There were 36 months between Brave and Ninja Camilla. We get 300 orbs a month, and let's be fair and say that Camillagays spend half of that a month on-average.
This meant that, by the time Ninja Camilla came out, her fans had saved up ~5,400 orbs. Maybe more if they saved for ONLY Camilla, which would be around 10,800 orbs.
It cause the banner to underperform, because tons of Camillagays could +10 her twice-over.

There's something cathartic about a year 1 unit surviving an Abyssal boss with color advantage with 4 HP, deleting 70 HP in return with one hit and healing back to 60 HP after combat. Counter Roar is really good.
Counter Roar is such an annoying skill to get past but I like it. Can't wait to see what Halloween brings for dragons assuming we still are doing Dragonween.

and also what does your guys' game loop look like? i ususally just do the story missions to level up any new 5 star heroes i have or play the collosseum/aether keeps.

Powercreep is so fast in this game, it's dumb to roll for characters who are strong, rather than characters you like.
Just save orbs for the characters you like. Then you can virtually guarantee getting them, or even +10ing them.

Depends on the day, but you shouldn't use Story missions to level units. Instead, use the Special Training map under Special Maps. It has more enemies and will cost you less Stamina to play.
Aether Raids sucks. I just auto-dispatch the first three days, then do a run on the fourth and fifth days.
Arena, I hover between 18 and 19, which gets me 4 orbs for little investment or effort.

If you don't mind waiting, yes, waiting for a rerun so you can spark them twice (assuming you are able to spark them, because f2ps can't spark all banners) will save you some orbs.
Gonna be honest, I haven't had to consciously level somebody in years, I'll just use crystals to max them out, because I have a large stash of them. Besides that, I just focus whatever missions and events are closest to ending.

Also I think a lot of people don't understand the range. Foe within 4 spaces means that she basically has cavalry movement that can be stopped by warp bubble but can move through walls.
Its not as good as people make it out to be. Basically just +1 movement
Watch her refine give her the pass skill then she'd be unstoppable by either of them. They'd then give her +1 special cooldown charge per attack to help her charge galeforce or miracle. If you have galeforce you can then snipe another weak back row unit after the first warp.
It says she can teleport to any of the nearest spaces adjacent to a foe within 4 spaces which is menace range. It is unclear if her warp range is just within her 4 spaces or the range of foe within her 4 spaces (menace range + adjacent spaces around foes within range). If it is the latter and she can teleport to foe on the outer edge of her 4 spaces and teleport behind them which is basically 5 spaces moved which is quite far.
