i finally got an askr at 11%. glad i didnt get spooked by the other 2
I free-rolled a Medeus, I was pretty happy. Thing I'm most hyped about right now is not CYL but Duo Hector's refine. And Summer Lyn too.
Skipped since I got fricked by LRoy's banner. If BSeliph is good, I'm satisfied.

How bad?
I went in with ~600 orbs + reserves and the extra F2P orbs throughout the banner's runtime thinking it would've been enough to pull the last 4 LRoy non-spark merges but finished with only 2 LRoys (+1 Spark), 1 Volke, a 4* special Nah, and a few Scathach merges. The banner itself ended with a 11.50% pity rate.
It would sting less if his return wasn't all the way in Feb and had the +9 merge that would've allowed me to run a double triple BD monster meme with Lugh ft LEliwood support without screwing with seals.

When is CYL anyway? I've just blown my entire load on all these summer banners and it also took me 250 orbs to finally get a -atk Askr after two Asheras.

I'm 5.25% on the summer Edel banner because it took that long to get a maxed Claude and I didn't get any 5* banner units apart from the Edelgard spark and a 5* Claude before spark, don't buy into the 'break pity' meme. Leave the pity rate alone and save the rest of your orbs for something better.

they have different uses i guess, i like that the new axe could let her run wings of mercy and still double units with follow up denial (useful for something like galeforcing versus seiros in anima season)

Lads, I wasted a bunch of orbs trying to get Muspell on all of his previous banners because Cav dragons are important for me to be able to do well on Pawns of Loki. I finally got rewarded with these ten tickets and managed to get Laeg, Muspell, Nifl, and two of the bonus 5* (Kaden and Nailah) with a total of ~20 orbs spent plus the tickets. I've only got 25 or so orbs right now so I'm probably fricked for CYL and the phantom thief thing (Sothe's design looks dope so I'll maybe try and get him) but I'm pretty happy with my luck recently. Got Sara on the freeroll yesterday too.

The units they give are always ones that have specific skills for inheritance. For this month, Cain has Wings of Mercy and Cecilia has Escape Route.

Pretty much every month we get over 700. This month we got over 800, I was able to get both Gold manuals and the Grail manual despite skipping PoL and mostly skipping Grand Conquests.

If stacked with a DR skill like Spurn/Dragon Wall you can reach 56% DR. Which isn't too bad and on top of that you gain an effective +13 spd if enemies are hit by the -7 spd debuff and the self +6 spd buff to own unit. It isn't an overvalued skill it is actually good on moderately fast units and fast units alike. You just need a strong EP or PP to proc it though otherwise you'll die before you receive the dodge effect.
If I gave it to Ascended Mareeta (even though it'd be the only skill from Lilith she'd be able to inherit), along with Vital Astra and Spurn, how much DR does that total out to? Probably a lot it sounds like
If I did my math right I think it is 68% DR if all conditions are met.
2 40% DRs is 64%
2 40% and 1 30%: 1-(0.6*0.6*0.7) = 74.8% ~ 75% DR
Triple dodge is like having deflect x always active. I run it most of the time on Mia and it's fun but if you lose the stat check all your skills get wasted. Might be better to not put all your eggs in one basket and get another effect in your b-slot instead.

The bigger issue imo is running into units that have deadeye, lethality, or skills that nullify DR moreso than being potentially outspend because that is what support units are for. But would agree having a different B skill is more beneficial if a source of DR is already on the unit. Running phantom speed may alleviate the chance of losing the speed check at the loss of actual speed.

There was a sequel event to Book 2 called Ice & Fire 1-5, it's finished now but I'm pretty sure you can go into the event recap and it somewhat elaborates on Nifl/Muspell.

You can blame that to the fact he sold his soul to Muspell in exchange for power beyond his wildest dreams at the cost of child sacrifices. His lines of dialog as a unit imply that the pact made him insane to the point he doesn't give a shit about his kingdom and daughters, he just wants to see the world burn (literally).

If I got this right, you effectively lose 5 Atk but you get a guaranteed follow up in exchange, which is what you really want to bypass her low Spd, and since Raging Storm is meant to make her a player phase unit

Your unit is more than good to have since it covers the armor role and colorless breath which both are difficult to have at +10. What also helps is she has some decent health too which helps with scoring.

The weapons don't have a place to put such restrictions in the game, they'd have to go back to every single weapon in the game and specify that the old weapons have no restrictions while adding the restrictions to the new weapons.

Yeah, but where are you going to actually use him? That's the issue with a lot of these refines. They're definitely good, but (LAlm aside, who is returning to his old armor buster role) they don't really do anything to make the units actually usable compared to current units, because the current meta units just bend everything else in the game over backwards.

Probably because by themselves (as support) they aren't as universal as Atk or Spd smoke. Atk smoke always gives survivability with the atk debuff, spd always makes units less likely to double or easier to double, but a unit with Def Smoke debuffing the opponent doesn't do shit if you're sending in a mage.

there's many more powerful units around but those 3 are the first that jump to me
The main things to keep an eye on are that Canto is a thing now (look for skills called Trace) as well as armours being more useful with Far/Near Save.
If you want a quick fix to deal with Edelgards, go into the Grail shop and buy a Petrine and build her to be Enemy Phase
Finally, ignore Summoner Duels
Don't forget gay chrom. That shit is the real menace, and more or less impossible to predict around.
It's possible if you're used to LChrom, you just have to remember the golden rule with PP nukes

The big issue with VChrom is that he's usually combined with DDagr, and THAT makes him truly unpredictable.
Looks like you have got a solid stash of orbs there, and especially if you haven't played in a while, you probably have some in the story mission bank you could grab, and have a reasonable chance of having enough orbs to +10 a CYL unit if there are any of those you care about. Besides that, Ascendant Fjorm is on the hero fest banner now, and he is an excellent asset.
All these orbs are from story quests, and I think I have about 150ish more from the extra event quests. I started from 0 but all the anni rewards and 3/4 years worth of content have amounted to a lot.
As for Ascended Fjorm, I did actually get one from the free pulls and she is actually insane. Im very tempted to get her to +1, since she is both strong and cute, but I really need to see Brave Tiki first, she gets waifu preference and all my old invested units happen to be dragons so it works out (and they all happen to be mostly Tiki alts, too)
If not then I'll just build new teams from scrap. I have some good units laying around like Velouria or Bride Fjorm that I might as well try lol
If you like dragon units, there is another boon out there for you in the form of a distant counter seal that only dragons can use available on the current tempest trial, which is probably great for a lot of old dragon units so they aren't stuck using lightning breath.
Besides that, I can speak from experience in saying that even a +0 ascended fjorm is good enough to take on basically everything but some of the top meta red ranged threats, so don't feel the need to get more if you want to conserve your orbs. Also, if you didn't know, ascended units get to ascend one of their stats for free (basically getting a second boon), non-ascended units you have to spend the currency that comes with an ascended unit to do so, but definitely make sure you take advantage of the free ascended stat for your ascended units.
I'd recommend seeing if you can't get your hands on some close save fodder to go with your fjorm if possible, as both black knight and arden are absurd close save units who are very accessible (arden requires less premium fodder to be good though), and the save skills work best when you have both.
Honestly that was my first thought, get dedicated Far and Close save units and then maybe build offensive units from there.
I did see the ascended thingy but already fed it to Ninja Corrin (not like she needed it, in hindsight) which is also kind of why I want to get another.

My understanding of the matter is that it is generally best to have your ascended fjorm have their boons in speed, and either attack or hp, as speed is more useful for her particular skill set, as she is a somewhat honest unit who doesn't use skills to guarantee follow-ups, so she really wants the speed, meanwhile her defenses aren't as important because she gets a lot of her defense from flat damage reduction.
Game press is fine, it will offer you the standard issue builds. I can personally vouch for their main arden build, as I have been using it to great effect, and he literally doesn't die to any physical melee threats I have put him up against. The only thing I have even seen survive imitating on him was a fallen edelgard, who then promptly died on their second action. Still gotta watch out for dragons though.
There is gonna be more ascendant units in the future, so don't worry about it too much.

Legendary tiki is also excellent, yes. Her c slot skill got a refine in addition to her weapon, and it is a unique far save skill. That said, you don't want more of one type of save skill on a team. I would still put her below aFjorm unless you have invested heavily into your Ltiki.
I never invested too much into LTiki because by the time I got her I already had an invested +10 Nowi and that was good enough back then lol. I might just invest in her if I make a dragon team, depends on how good Brave Tiki is.

Nowi has actually wrapped around to being solid again, actually, though she requires heavy investment to get there.
As far as near save fodder goes, there is some near save fodder in divine codes 3 if all else fails. Even if you don't have enough divine codes for it now, this time of year we tend to see a big increase in the amount we get.

Moonbow's probably best, you'll want anything you can activate as fast as you can for more damage
Ruptured Sky in Arena/AA/AB > Glimmer > Moonbow > Ruptured Sky anywhere scoring doesn't matter
If she's +Atk and has ideal skills then she has just enough attack to make glimmer better against anything that isn't a Res tank, and Moonbow won't make a difference against res tanks anyway.

Hard to say. The truth of the matter is that it being a weapon makes it very suboptimal, as it obviously eliminates lots of potential infantry galeforce shenanigans, which would be its obvious use if it was a skill slot way of getting canto. I think they knew what they were doing when they did this, because I don't expect it will break anything when it means replacing a prf.
Generally speaking though, it is probably best for units without prfs or with bad prfs who want to be a skirmisher, and as you say, for dancers.

not really, most of whta makes a unit unique is going to be on their prf weapon, and giving them the canto sword removes that from them. dancers are pretty much the only units that would uniquely benefit from having an inheritable canto weapon.

The infantry dragonflowers is a good reason to do the new mode. I think if you collect all flowers from daily and complete all floors with flowers you get 660 dragonflowers.

Her refine, Dive-Bomb, and Divine Fang+ make her more of a formidable combatant but I think the guaranteed follow up from Divine Fang is the most important part since a good Mythic should offer good support
And now, Naga can help provide both dragon slaying and a free follow up
I found a pretty good application of Naga's abilities. If you have him, Scion Leif can hit and run a lot better now.
His Miracle effect guarantees that he survives most things he initiates against, and then if you give him Escape Route, he can just engage against a slow, tanky unit, survive, be at 1 HP and then you use Escape Route to get out of there. Where Naga comes in is the fact that some tanks have follow up denial, but Leif's high Spd and the guaranteed follow up should almost always ensure that he gets his second hit in.
It's not fool proof, giving up S Drink means you need to exchange blows, and also Guard will be a problem, but I just tried this out and it was actually kinda fun.

Pegasus Flight would be fine as one, and it would be nicer if the seal stacked with the skill. High res high speed fliers has always been a niche even in the mainline games. Wyvern Flight is a lot harder to use against a vast majority of targets.

Sonia is definitely not a top tier unit, but she's perfectly usable for PvE content. With Halloween Sophia's weapon, some atk/res boosting skills and quick riposte she can be a decent EP mage tank. If you're willing to give her rare fodder, she'd also greatly appreciate atk smoke 4.
Limstella is much better, they can also be used as a EP tank or you can go for an offensive build and use them to reduce your own team's HP and set up skills like vantage or wings of mercy.
Sonia isn't the best unfortunately, she's got okay stats but low Spd and no unique weapon. You can probably find a way to make her work but you'll need to put in a lot of effort and resources and stuff.
I think Valentine's Veronica or Halloween Sophia's weapons would be good on her though, and both are free/Grail units. The former grants an Atk swing and healing I think, the latter provides an Atk swing and Guard.
Limstella is a bit better, since they actually have a unique weapon that can dish out some pretty decent damage, but it's reliant on giving your allies an Atk and Res buff (as Limstella can get a boost to Atk based on the total of those buffs). So that'd be your first step, find a way to get those buffs, and you have to deal with your allies taking recoil damage. For this reason, if you have Medeus, he pairs really well with them since he gets Atk and Res just for existing and a status effect that prevents recoil damage.
Any alternatives besides Medeus? I missed him...
As the other anon pointed out, any unit that can take advantage of the recoil damage also works well, any skill or effect that requires you to be damaged.
Ascended Celica seems like a good partner then. I guess I have to rely on Atk tactic and Rally

Divine codes is basically a currency you collect from various game modes or gifts during some events. Divine codes can be traded for various manuals of heroes which can be used as merges on an existing unit of the same type or can be used to inherit skills from. As of now there are 3 lines of Divine codes code 1 can be used only on code 1 line of skills. Code 2 can be used on both code line 1 or 2. Lastly code 3 can be used on code 3 line of skills and the previous code line 1-2.
Then there are the ephemera codes (red colored divine codes)which can be used on limited time manuals. The Eph-codes disappear if not redeemed on the limited time manual and a new set of manuals are available every month.

After some theory crafting I’ve decided to assemble this team as a secondary squad. With their base kits dedue and b!dimitri have incredible synergy, and I can use flayn to get around the pair’s naturally low mobility as well as boost their survivability. I feel like ninja lyn needs no introduction.

I thought the cap raised twice a year which is why I am asking, I just want to be able to sack a unit in my barracks for fodder without thinking "I could've farmed extra feathers if I hadn't done that".
Assuming you aren't a new player, don't you have a ton a of spare 3/4* manuals or units in the reserve barracks to kill for easy feathers? I mean if I started killing off spares I'm sure I could make a few hundred thousand feathers. Well personally I don't farm feathers, I just get Dragonflowers then chuck if they serve no purpose.
I do but not enough to provide the hundreds of thousands of feathers I want.
Well by looking at past years I don't see HM increasing again this year. It might increase again next year. Assuming you haven't done all the tactics drills you can get 300 feathers per mission if you use a guide for the solutions. Otherwise you'll just have to wait for a drip feed of feathers.
Can someone explain to me how the spaces moved thing on Seliph's kit works? Is clash much better than putting a Catch since he has Canto in his kit?
I'll try to explain it how I understand it:

If I understood this right, if you have Seliph say, move 4 spaces, then he gets to deal 40% of the foe's Def, gets 10 Atk and Spd, and he neutralizes any Atk and Spd debuff on him.
I also just realized that he also still has the Miracle effect like his regular version but the threshold is at 25% HP. I already find Scion Leif's Miracle effect (though that's really Seliph's effect at this point) pretty fun so this should be great too.
When AREN'T they seething though. It's the older Tiki wearing the younger Tiki's clothes, I like it.

The clash skill basically is # of spaces moved of unit/foe + 6 for a min of +7 or max of +10. I'd still say catch is still useful clash on the other hand works best on units like Reginn who can safely canto 3 away getting +9 or +10 if movement buffed.

Just to be clear, the 135 Orbs is only for if you're using the summoning tickets as you do it, I believe it's about 150 Orbs otherwise, and even then, you can only do this for one of them at a time.
Meaning if you wanted to +10 any of them right NOW, you're only guaranteed a head start at +1 with the 135 Orbs, the rest will take however long it usually does for these kinds of banners, and it's for that reason people suggest to just wait until the eventual Hero Fest (held at either anniv or Golden Week)
If you pull every orb to spark:

I'd get Chrom because he has tard strength. Tiki honestly feels way weaker than the other three

Are clashes that much better than catchss? Catch only gives stats but clash can nullify penalties.
Catch seems more consistent, you're going to be getting +7 to two stats at the very least since your opponents are going to start with full health and your unit should be able to one round them, and then debuffs will either give you more stats or can help you activate the skill against injured foes
Clash is good, but to make the most of it, you HAVE to move your unit; Seliph can do this well thanks to his 4 Mov and Canto 2
Clash is very dependent on your positioning, and Catch will almost always grant you some extra stats regardless
What special do I give Chrom? I'm just keeping it simple with Glimmer for now. Also I wish I had Spd Smoke 4 fodder for him.

Atk/Spd Catch or Atk/Spd Clash for Walhart?
Catch is best with Walhart due to him being able to inflict penalties easily. Clash is best with units with built in canto.

except put Chrom lower unless you're willing to teambuild with him, since he relies on his allies to be good. For example, he can't innately get NFU unless there's an infantry ally with him, and even then he needs to reposition them first. He has high potential, since they didn't put a cap on the stat boosts he can get, but at the same time he needs help getting there. Meanwhile you can slap Seliph or Byleth on any team and they'll clean house by themselves.
If there's a must pick it's probably Chrom, because we're just gonna keep getting more status effects for him to copy as the game goes on, and he gets easy Special accel at that
Been playing SD against the new units and I'll have to say Tiki is giving me the most trouble. My ranking when fighting the new units in SD are Seliph>Tiki>Byleth>Chrom. Only reason Seliph is higher than Tiki despite what I said is that Seliph can hit and escape to safety and his miracle effect saves himself so often even when out in the open.
Personally I think Chrom, at least in a pvp standpoint, is the weakest of the new units. Yes he has huge potential to become really powerful but I think his gimmick is on par with the likes of Halloween Xane. They both have a high ceiling but realistically are held back by a limit. In Xane's case it is both his class(mage) and units available that would realistically work together with him. Chrom on the other hand I feel is held back by the amount of visible buffs he can take from a single unit, buffs that can be bestowed to him, and having to waste a turn (only an issue in pvp SD) to get them. If you want a more consistent unit I'd personally choose Seliph or Tiki.

basically, the trick is you have to leave your phone with FEH active over the reset on the final day of the feh pass cycle. Then, once you're through reset, flick to a different tab like Battle or Units, then back to Home to pick up your third resplendent. It wont register you as having lost your FEH pass until you complete a map
A downside is you can't know what your third resplendent is before you do it, so you should wait until the current one and the next one are units you want, so if your 3rd one is not wanted, then you at least got a 2/3

If your going to spend a little money for your favorite character(s) Resplendent outfit FEH PASS is a damn good deal. The ability to tactical SPARK on the occasional seasonal, Double Special, legendary, or mythic banner is very convenient too and can help with account progression. Just be aware of your orb count. Also, the FEH Pass loyalty perks are a decent incentive to stay subscribed but is not absolutely necessary. The Dragon Flower count will grow exponentially over time if you are frugal with your usage.

nta, but there's honestly barely any difference between what a f2p and p2w get on DF. Unless you really spend on the DF packs, and even those are pretty meh.
The quickest way to get DFs right now is to take your 3/4* and do their heroic ordeals, that's 2, 8 or 40 flowers each depending their generation. There's also binding worlds, but that's infantry only.
Yeah I already do heroic ordeals all the time. That definitely helps. DF packs are a scam though it's not even funny
on one hand, I really wish they would move the quality of life features from it to normal player, but that said, I think it is reasonable to purchase it because you aren't buying gambling currency, you know exactly what you are getting.

Honestly the only things I really have the Feh Pass for are the loyalty rewards and the cups. Everything else (except the divine codes) it gives you, including most resplendents, is basically worthless.
