How would you design a Pegasus Flight 4? Since we got Wyvern Flight 4 with Rosado's Wyvern Rift, which actually made the skill pretty useful. They haven't done that for Pegasus Flight yet, but something that works with a combined high Spd + Res that Pegasus Knights tend to have would be nice.
At start of combat, if unit's Spd ≥ foe's Spd-10, inflicts penalty on foe's Atk/Def during combat = 80% of difference between Res stats (unit's Res minus foe's Res) before combat (maximum penalty of -8), and also, if at start of combat, unit's Spd+Res > foe's Spd+Res, foe cannot make a follow-up attack.
Something like this would do
Always about ten minutes before reset. The next opportunity to do so comes in about 1½ days, which is also the one I would recommend because then you'll comfortably receive Severa even if something goes wrong. By subbing at that time you'll get Celica (last ten minutes, make sure to redeem quickly), then Severa right afterwards, then Hector, and if you're attentive you'll get whoever follows Hector too. This last part will require for you to log into the game BEFORE reset for Hector hits and then immediately redeem the 4th resplendent after reset. Thight schedule, but that's the only way to max out pass rewards.
Also gotta make sure to clear the missions too. Sucks that I wasn't able to do that trick the last time I had to get the pass for sparking due to the banners' schedule.

I haven't read Thrima thoroughly but i think she'll need a guaranteed follow up since her speed is on the lower side nowadays, so I'm waiting fot an axe that does that. I'll check it out and see if i can live with a build like that for her

They bring the clothes issue in a FB, and not ever changing out of it as a joke, or something. It's likely because that hero might have only had a seasonal unit and IS wanted them to be in the FB so they point out the awkwardness of the situation. FEH's "lore" is all over the place. Some heroes dialogue imply they've been summoned in that attire, some say they were just invited to the festival. I think every OC suggest it's the "real" version that was just invited, but things like FB has Gunnthra get brought up like as if she's dead. IS just doesn't keep track of it and don't care too which is part of the reason they constantly say "NOT THE HERO YOU KNOW!".
I don't know if it still matters (it's been years), but his niche was that he was able to out-defense Mila and bypass her debuff right? If that still matters, then I'd say Solid Ground might be better

But I think Celica will grant any unit the "warp to a space within two spaces of any ally" effect in reference to her Warp Ragnarok, and maybe have some Potent follow-up since I remember she could do two attacks at half damage

I threw Surtr in with wooden tackle, DC in S-Slot, and base kit for everything else and he just tank healed through everything. Only thing to watch out for was that armored knight who would panic Surtr if in a cardinal direction.
How often do we get Forma souls? I like this Halloween Corrin from the recent one but was wondering if it’s a rare enough resource for me to justify saving it for potentially weeks or months? I remember I got the summer elincia recently from one of the ones before this so maybe it isn’t that rare? Also what are Forma allies good for? I tried using the forma summer eli to merge with my regular summer eli and it doesn’t let you use them for that, inheritance, or combat manuals. Are these units worse or better than regular ones in some way?
On a side note, is there any benefit to getting a character in 3 or 4 stars to max level before unlocking their potential? Also, what are combat manuals good for?

As someone who's been playing for just over a year, my experience has been that Forma souls are indeed rare enough that you should consider very carefully what to spend them on. HoF events are a regular occurence and if you are a new player there is a good chance they will constantly entice you with their selection, because there so many units you don't have yet which you'd like to add to your collection. No matter how many Forma souls you get, just like with orbs it'll never be enough. The next HoF is very likely going to be lineup #1 (3H summer) from pic related, so take into consideration whether you like one of those more than Corrin.

I just got the soul from the celestial stone shop which resets in 48 days, have 2 in stock right now so I should be good for any one unit which really sticks out, I’m also probably gonna get the Corrin seeing as none of the units you posted look interesting to me. In hindsight, I also feel like I wasted my previous soul on Summer Elincia which I barely built in HoF as I thought I could use her for merging into the regular one I got from Heroic Grails. Yeah, you might as well. Merges beyond +1 aren't that important for most situations, but if Elincia ever turns up as a bonus unit in the Arena, it might give you the slightest edge to have a merged copy of her available. (For Arena purposes the rule is: the more merges the better.) Problem being of course, she'd still need a lot of investment to boot, which kinda defeats the point of having her bought with a Forma soul. But if you like Elincia and still want to use her, what else can you do?

In the Coliseum at the very top, like the other anon said. It's a mode where you battle live against other players. Think of it as speed chess. Of course it comes with all the drawbacks of PvP modes in this game i.e. the higher you go, the more p2w it becomes. But you can still get your Forma soul in a reasonable amount of time since it's sitting pretty low on the rewards ladder. In order to gain Favor from a match, you need to have defeated at least one enemy unit. Surrendering at the start of a match is not going to net you any rewards. It's best to play SD on the weekends, because the amount of Favor you gain from matches is increased during that time.
Take note that the Favor you win is ascribed to your team captain, no other unit on your team. Your three units with the highest Favor turn up on your account profile card as your favorite units. Just in case that's important to you, although hardly anybody ever looks at those profile cards.

I'd prefer it comes after S/D near trace 4 is in the pool. Getting No Quarter, Flared Sparrow, S/D Near Trace 4, and Soaring Guidance is what i need from that HoF so I'm glad it comes later (at least 2 months from now cause i think spring sylvain has it)
I think I'd rather get a Canto X skill and stick with Flow Desperation in the B slot. I'll put Soaring Guidance back in her C slot if we ever get that.
I actually pulled Catria from my latest Arena ticket. I now have her at a whopping +1 but she came with a Spd boon, so that was nice. The built-in warp in her refined prf can be pretty fun to use actually.

You get to keep the item or unit, but IS will put you on their naughty boy list and any further refunds of this nature risk to have your account banned.
I think by forcing a refund via Google Play Store, not by taking the request to Feh directly. But doing so always carries a risk of getting banned by Feh if they believe you are trying to engage in loophole abuse.
I reach out to Google Support and tell them I bought the wrong in game item and they refund me almost immediately. I got a free Resp Soren and a free spark because of this.
It's nice when people place their Yunakas in a position where she can't move more than 1 space before attacking in AR. It was fun seeing my Mia tank her and desert Igrene.
I for my part think HoF and Seer's Snare are just about the only enjoyable modes left in this game. It's fun to build up a team more or less from scratch without having the scales tipped too much in your favor (PvE modes which allow you to bring all your most roided out cancer units) or the opposite (PvP modes which force you to engage with the roided out cancer units from other players who spent money to make them extra cancerous). HoF and Seer's Snare are the only modes that have some faint semblance of game balance left.

100% agreed. After all, their weapons give them a bigger stat swing depending on how many nearby allies hail from different games.
I think the one and only time they've ever done this is randomly add Legendary Marth to Askr's battle, and that's just because Askr actually REQUIRES a unit from another game for his C skill to work (while all generics technically count as hailing from Heroes).
Seer's Snare is the best mode they've come up with in such a long time, it's very fun
There's stakes, the enemies can be tough, but you can also make your units even tougher, and you get to use whoever you want

Caeda has Def/Res Pledge. Gerik could use that become self sufficient buffing his own stats, he can use it to make Aether/Gambit more consistent to help keep his HP high, plus the new Bonus Doubler can work well with his weapon. Am I coming up with something that could actually work or am I trying to fool myself.

The same things that effect score in arena. >Merges/BST >Equiped skills >Mythic units(instead of legendary)
The good thing you only need 1 built unit for each column. The other slot in each column can be used for whatever unit you want since the game only checks for highest scoring unit of each column and calculates them only in the final score. Other than that it is all based on not letting a unit die or losing a gate.
Mythic units don't actually affect scoring in any meaningful way, as the Major/Minor seasons just treat them as having an additional +5/+10 merges. If they're high merged it's more beneficial to run them, but if you have an unmerged Mythic, they'll score as well as any other +10 you have built.
I don't give a frick about NM or Thracia and will not roll on this banner, but I'm happy it's happening. One person, maybe even literally one person, is happy Arlen is in, and that makes me smile. If additions like this weren't made then my favorite FE character wouldn't have been added at all

I look forward to these banners, but some of the alt decisions are just dumb or are there due to dev bias. You can't look me straight in the eyes and tell me that Reinhardt and Caeda deserved those alts over Minerva and Olwen. It's just a shit stain on an otherwise decent banner. Merric is one of the few characters deserving of the ascended status from fe1/3 and Arlen is his rival so it makes sense to add them together. And I was looking forward to Safy and Lara for the longest time. I don't plan on rolling on this banner, but it's good outside of the Caeda wanking

Technically Fae's Special accel is only per foe's attacks, which they've phased out in favour of having it work on either foe or the user's attacks (which is what Pledge can do)

When aiming for a specific unit on a sparkable banner, is it more orb efficient to snipe colors or to just run full circles and hope for the best? Has anyone done the math? Somehow I get the feeling that color sniping might actually be pointless, at least for f2p players who only go up to 40 summmons most of the time, because it's so easy to get pitybroken. Last time I did color sniping I got nothing out of it, but instead of paying 160 orbs to get my consolation spark, I paid over 180.

Same. She's been sitting on a 3 year old build copied from Dancing Ethlyn. It worked fine up until a year or so ago when everyone started geting 50+DR. The new Arcane dagger just isn't that great for her, and the other fodder she needs can be hard to come by.
I remember being upset at Eir and Surtr back in the day because "oc units" were getting good prf skills left and right and mainline characters were left to rot with shitry inheritable/prf.weapons. But I changed my attitude and now I wish there was more Eir hentai.

Surtr was nuts sure, but I don't recall Eir/Fjorm, or other OCs being too crazy. Especially with Legendary/Mythic units coming out for mainline titles. People even complained that the Askr trio was unusable. book 2 was around when they started giving out more PRFs to everyone, but it was still much rarer compared to today.
IMO FEH characters need decent/good skills because they don't come with any emotional attachment that players might have with previous mainline games. They end up having to compete against those characters and one of the main way a player bonds with a character is based on how the character performs. At the very least it gets people to give the OCs a chance, and IS needs the FEH characters to be able to stand on their own. Normally you would have decent stories but IS sucks at writing.
I wish they weren't so lazy about writing. It would be nice to see people get more into the FEH characters or get excited for them.

Gullveig got lucky and had a lot of things going for her.
The trailer was really good, and got people hyped, she was extremely coom heavy, and hinted at being for the player, and her winning CYL kind of cemented that hype for a while. It helps that book 7 was a bit more coherently written and a fun concept, which is strange given it's a time travel book written by IS. I get the feeling that if she hadn't won CYL then her hype would have died down, but the the FB and CYL event gave her even more spotlight which helped even more. She will likely fade over time like everyone else but she has a hell of a start.
In a similar vein, plumeria was hyped up as a meme vote, but lost due to 3h being in its first CYL and thus interest faded a lot faster.

Plumeria was a bit of a meme pick because she was brand new and thus everyone was just voting for her because she was hot and had the title of "Fairy of lewd dreams" IE Wet dream fairy.
She managed to get 3rd/4th off just and the only people higher than her were the 3h lords and Lysithea. While it's hard to tell where those votes would have gone if 3H was delayed entry into CYL, if you remove them entirely then Plumeria would have won 1st place female.
I would have preferred Plumeria winning over Lysithea in that CYL, but it's a tall order going up against 3H when it was basically brand new. It might have helped keep her relevant or perhaps earned her another alt or two as IS might have noticed her more. She's my favorite book 4 fairy, and the backstory to the fairies was fairly enjoyable with the irony of Plumeria's being the best IMO.

They should give them +10 inheritance after beating any book on lunatic ISIS I know you read these threads. Doing GHB with alfonse is such a pain in the ass wiggling him around and chipping away at someone so he can deal a single point of damage and end up killing them. and for what? one orb? If you're talking about current age then Alfonse certainly wasn't 10-12 when the game started. I don't know where I heard it, but back during it's release I could have sworn something said Alfonse was around 20 years old. Even if he was 18 on release, he would still be be 25-26 now.

TT was fun content originally as CC wasn't out yet, I think, and the difficulty was higher near release. The issue was grinding out the 100k points was unbearable. I ended up just getting the free 4* copy and dipping for the first two.
They need to bring back TT minis so we cN get free copies of those units again. It's sort of Here with the toilet paper shop giving away the holiday grails after a few months but it's not enough.
Actually breddy good, if you like him and want to use him. Getting No Quarter out of HoF is nice. Never had it turn up once, although to be fair I didn't grind for Eldigan beyond giving him a kit that made sure he wouldn't be dead weight. But don't fall into the trap of spending a buttplug just because you vaguely like the guy and the skills are good enough, only for him to collect dust in your barracks afterwards. It happened to me, it can happen to you too.
Chrom, because his prf skill has been "future proofed" to a degree. He can copy buffs from his allies, including whatever IS may come up with next.
Seliph might still be able to perform in the right circumstances, but his prf has a hard counter in the meta now.
The other two have become irrelevant.
I think Chrom has actually stood the test of time, as someone who still uses him pretty regularly. There's new status effects being added monthly, some units either grant themselves or other units one or two, and Chrom can kinda be built like a swiss army knife in a way. And, because there's no limit on the stat buffs he gets from the statuses, then he can kinda match the on going stat creep. Plus, A Fate Changed! is not just fun for stealing statuses, but it also helps move your allies around.
Unfortunately, Byleth, Tiki, and even Seliph have all fallen off, the former two more quickly than the others, while Seliph just doesn't have the sheer firepower (no DR pierce) or survivability (as his Miracle can only go so far to help), especially since he also can't keep up with the stat creep as well. I eventually started using him less because he just couldn't keep up.
However, all four ARE getting refines later this year, so that's something to keep in mind. Maybe those three will get what they need (like maybe Tiki will get flat Res based DR that can't be pierced), while I can't imagine Chrom getting too much since he's already doing pretty good. >tl;dr
Chrom is the best pick of CYL6, as the constant status effects being added and the ability to take 'em makes him timeless.
They're all good I their own way
Gullveig is the best braindead offensive unit on that banner, mine still kills 99% of stuff but it's maxed out
Robin gives a great buff and is a solid unit, good if you don't have a lot of strong units as his buff should be unique and can help weaker units.
Soren is solid but he shines in modes like SD or when you get into team building as his main power let's non armors become save units.
Femui has aged the worst because meta favors nukes but she is still a solid save armor. She is good for auto battle clearing old content.
IMO robin/gullveig are the better choices, but the others are fine too.
Brave seliph or chrom are supposed to be great choices, but I hear more good about seliph than chrom. Chrom might have more value now that buffs are becoming more prominent as he is supposed to be able to steal them or something like that
Not too sure so double check.
Robin currently holds up best with his support and warp shenanigans. However his damage reduction has gone down in usefulness a lot. If you want a unit from this banner which is both useful and not so easily replaced by something more recent, you should pick him.
Gully is still a very solid nuke but has been noticeably overtaken in her role by several other units who have come after her. Flared Sparrow alone, however, continues to be very valuable fodder for any flier you'd like to build.
Corrin is still good if you are in need of a Far Tank for PvE content, but she has fallen off hard in PvP. Wouldn't really recommend.
Soren has has niche uses, but since the current meta heavily favors nukes over tanks as the other anon mentioned, I can't recommend him either.
Gullveig and Corrin are still good, but other units can do their job better (save tank and flier nuke respectively), you kinda have to give Special Spiral 4 to Corrin for her to even do her job now
Soren can turn any unit into a save tank, but that also requires you to have other units built up for that role, and you gotta Def match
Although, he can still put up a fight nowadays because his whole kit checks for Res and he's got pretty good Res, way, way more than basically every physical unit
Robin is the most universally supportive, because a free +5 to all stats and the ability to get a Special charge during combat is immense, especially if you pair that up with Emblem Marth (if you have him)
Unfortunately his combat is pretty standard, just regular pierceable DR in both his weapon and B skill, and he doesn't have any means of Null Follow-Up so he needs to get that somehow, either as a status or as the Seal
Basically, Soren or Robin would be your best bet, unless you specifically have Special Spiral 4 in which case Corrin
I still haven't done either of these lol. Rolled a robin and just having the B skill fodder is good plus he provides pretty good support. Corrin also is a tanky distant save tank with tanky terrain built in.
the Tiki one was kind of shit and I cannot think of a speed pre-empt use for this day. I am a brainlet don't listen to anything I have to say about this CYL banner. The chrom sharing buffs could turn into big money one day especially if you give him those distant speed defense arrow A skills coming out.

I think I saw someone who asked support and they confirmed you can refresh a Rearmed unit with the manual or just use it as regular fodder. Once someone can get it it'll be easy enough to just put it in the merge preview to confirm.
I am actually in awe of the codes they gave this is some really good shit and you wont be able to get a lot of it for a long time. I still haven't touched most of codes 1-3 they should allow codes to be fricking universal at this point. Outside of the seasonal or timed codes whatever they're called.
I think we kinda hit a new high last December with the Winter units, with Yunaka and Edelgard being able to pierce through DR (nearly) entirely, Dimitri being a Vantage sweeping king, and Byleth being basically one of the few enemy phase tanks left on account of the super accelerated power creep

Personally love doing challenge runs with it. Trying to get through without any seal shops, only equp 4 - 8 skills per character, only use early gen units, etc. Wish they'd focus on more creative single player modes like it more often.
I got her and also Gotoh recently, the two give you +6 to all stats, Canto 1, debuff neutralization, and AoE damage reduction, just by standing near 'em

It does work the other way around. You merge a fresh Peony into an exhausted one, the exhausted Peony becomes fresh again and can be used to pass on any of the skills she has accumulated once again.
What's more, the same holds true for the rearmed manuals they introduced recently. These manuals will refresh their unit when merged into it.

This is what I got on the way to the spark, how'd I do? I am personally happy since I wanted both Claude and Peony merges since I have been trying to build them. With this so far and the Claude I'm going to spark they both will be at +5 merges.
So when Caeda's B skill says >reduces damage dealt to unit by X (X = highest total bonuses among unit and allies within 2 spaces)
What does that mean? Caeda herself gets all stats +6, so is that 24 DR right there? And if there's an ally with, say, Atk/Spd+6 then does that become 36 DR, or is it still 24 because her total is the highest, rather than it being the total of all units?
I believe it's the latter. It'll check for the highest total of bonuses between her and her allies. So she'll pretty much always be able to shave off 24 damage, but that number can get higher if you can somehow provide greater buffs (which are pretty rare, most buffs just do +6).
I guess it would be too OP if she totalled all allies' bonuses like Brave Marth. I could stick her on a team with Seidr for +8 blue buffs but that's diminishing returns territory.

If you really, really want to try, you probably want:
Dragon's Stone+ (the flat DR she gets from it is literally better than her percentage based DR from her prf)
Attack/Speed finish 4
Counter Roar 4
one of atk/speed pledge, time's pulse 4, or atk/spd oath 4
Because Yuliya's stat spread is min maxed, obviously. What the frick is Serra going to do with 35 Def? She's not going to survive a hit from a physical nuke anyway. And then you have to pay actual money for the resplendent garb to even get her that far while Yuliya gets it all for free.
Flame Lyn was fun when her AoE special charge cooldown mattered, but now that everything is built around guaranteeing their special activating every fight, it doesn't matter that much. She's still fun though.
if you have Legendary robin you can also match her stats so all of them get debuffed and she can function pretty well that way without expensive fodder.
Edelgard and Dimitri do canonically have young designs, and they could easily just be a Duo Hero Dagger unit with like a billion effects, which could include mega DR piercing that destroys the likes of Godlike Reflexes or even any other Special effect.
I feel like it'd be a bit too quick though, it at least took a year and a half between 3H Lord alts (between summer 2022 to winter 2023). But you never know with IS.
I think the little Ram Village kids are possible though, who also have canonical designs. And I think it's been a minute since we've had anything Shadows of Valentia.

Imagine if IS had the balls to actually make Catria try to groom young Marth.
They technically can use Echo skills, but they have to unequip their prf skill to do so. Meaning that you're not getting cucked by Beorc's blessing or other horseshit prfs when you prefer to let the unit in question use an echo skill.
Wasn't Legendary Ike the first AHR winner and was able to be picked up from a paralogue map so even new players could pick him up whenever? If so, it's unfortunate that the following AHR winners didn't follow the same treatment.
It's a fine enough bow, it'll get the job done if you don't have a good enough prf (or any prf at all).
If you don't have anyone suited for it though, you can't go wrong with just foddering her for Guidance 4 and maybe Atk/Spd Unity while you're at it. Deadeye too if you're able, but you'd need other flying archers to make the most of all her fodder.

She's alright, in the sense that the baseline for every new premium unit is to be better than what came a couple months before. But she doesn't represent the kind of jump in powercreep like 3H christmas or Valentine did. Her shelf life will be far shorter than any of those, because the next jump in powercreep can't be too far off now. The upcoming Emblem banner might invalidate her immediately. So her main use is going to be as a skill bank for infantry units.

There's two different types of warps, there's the kind that Oath 4/Atk Oath Echo provide, where you can warp to a space adjacent to any ally within two spaces
And then there's the better, super warp that you see on stuff like Aerial Maneuvers and Wings of Mercy 4, where you can warp to any space within two spaces of an ally
Emblem Celica, if she provides warping, will provide the latter
I just have to wonder if she'll either have a draw back, a limitation, or simply allow specific unit types to do more stuff though
Like... maybe that super warp is only for infantry and fliers, while cavalry and armours just get the regular warping of the former

I was also considering Mag. Null-Follow Up, but sometimes I wonder if NFU effects are downright useless with how a lot of units ignore those nowadays. Yeah, I think I'll keep Sirius, I'm still keeping Dragon's Stone, but the DC seal is already occupied.

I don't think that's quite right. It's not that NFU is useless, it's that NFU is necessary and everywhere. It's more that "unit makes a guaranteed follow-up attack" and "foe cannot make a follow-up attack" are useless-- precisely because of NFU.
literally me, although a workaround for most skills (if they're active already) is that you can click the ! that shows someone's buffs, since they're written significantly more concise there.

The fault lies with IS 100% for designing this shitty p2w chess. It didn't have to be this way, they could've monetized Feh by selling cosmetics, it has worked well enough for other games. Instead they decided to sell advantages over other players, which is the driving force behind the powercreep spiralling completely out of control and consequently the horrid state of every PvP mode.
by far and large the community refuses to roll if the latest banner doesn't have powercreep skills to inherit or units they can use to effortlessly beat others in pvp with.
And who has conditioned the community to do so? Of course that's what people who engage with PvP modes will do when they know perfectly well that the game requires them to spend their limited resources on the most broken units and best fodder. Who would want to get fricked over by rolling on a banner without powercreep if the next banner introducing new powercreep is always right around the corner? Can't blame the community for following the incentives laid down by IS.

NY Seidr wiener blocked all threats that aren't Christmas Edelgard from fighting and letting my lower leveled teammates jump them to death. Nevermind I like this mode again.

i really wish the mode wasn't such an rng crapshoot
First time I made it into the Vault of Heaven. How'd I do? My Aether Keep was attacked 12 times and successfully defended only 4 times. Only 1 time did this entail defeating all of the attacking team, 3 times the attackers escape laddered away after losing 2 units although they probably could've won the engagement.
I suspect my cruddy defense prevented me from getting a Golden throne and I know for a fact it prevented me from staying in the Vault. I kept experimenting and shuffling around units and terrains but as a f2p player except getting the pass this one time for Severa I think this is probably my ceiling. I don't have the resources to recreate any of the cancer defenses I had to go up against, nevermind fielding full merges or anything like that.
A ragtag bunch of misfits, leaning heavily on V!Lyon (freerolled), S!Chloe and A!Ivy (sparked). All unmerged and uninvested except for getting them Reposition. Then for scoring purposes I was essentially forced to use Reginn, Ratatoskr, Edelgard and Tiki. Likewise unmerged. I experimented a bit with different team compositions here too, but much less than on the defense. V!Lyon is so absurdly gamebreaking, he is more than half the reason my attack team performed very admirably. I did run out of escape ladders, but in all the raids I won I never scored below 340, all thanks to luckily freerolling the single worst powercreep unit in the game at this time.
My most successful defense was centered around Chloe, trying to get a cheap shot in if the attacker should overlook that she has/gives Charge. Never really quite works though, players in the Vault seem to be more attentive than that. Problem is, I have none of the premium stuff for defense. No Canto control, no Warp control, no Medeus, no Sanaki, no Gullveig, no Sigurd, etc etc. Name what you want from the most horrid defense setups, I probably don't have it. Can't build a cav line, can't build a tank turtle. So I keep changing up my defense in the vain hope of striking gold on accident.

God, I could only dream of it. I try to use my faves as much as I can, but it's hard man. Feels terrible when they just drag the team down.
I've used an all Camilla defense for as long as I could. At first, it just relied on using Goad Fliers on everyone and outspeeding but then powercreep skills came out and it was a rough few years. Ninjacam and L!Cam have made the defenses pretty competitive because if people didn't bring a Ninjacam counter they were entirely screwed and now I've got L!Cam as a crazy good tank buster.

Ignore defense and just roll for light/astra mythic merges. My defense flopped this week and I lost 165 lift with 8 wins and 4 losses, but I stayed in top 1k at rank 532 because I have +10 Plumeria, +10 Seidr, and +10 Thorr.

Attack priority is given to units with the highest level starting with the front row. If your unit and enemy unit have the same exact lvl then priority is then given to a speed check of the faster unit. IIRC if both units are exactly same lvl and speed for some reason priority is given at random between the two units. >Use unique effects, terrain, and debuffs
Give yourself an overwhelming advantage by using these things to get an advantage on your opponent. Skills like Edelgard's raging storm, Gullveig's extra actions, Flash effects, NY!Seiðr to shutdown an enemy's actions and the various terrains. >Have Friends
Obviously you won't be able to beat the various powercreep or obtain the new toys alone so make as many friends as possible to supplement your team's lacking power and synergy bonus with friends' units.
That is all you really need to know to get max score beyond luck.
If it's Anna as a Mage Knight then I'm spending. Not really, but Anna in Engage was a fantastic mage unit and I really became fond of this version of her.
We have engage. Fe4/5/6, awakening, fates, echoes, fodlan and heroes. We could get new mystery with kid Kris, Reese, and legion and the other girl I can't remember, but this is unlikely.

Do you really need to ask? Why the frick would you try to build ANY unit for enemy phase? He isn't going to survive shit if some nuke initiates on him. Especially not if it's a magic nuke like Lyon, since Dimi's Res is practically non-existent.
Unless you are literally named Byleth and have another Byleth attached to your hip, you cannot enemy phase anymore

This should bring NQ to 2 CD and if he hits the Spd requirement then he'll immediately pop off No Quarter since he gets Brave Hits (assuming foe doesn't have a Tempo like effect or Guard).
Heck you can even grab Spd/Def Tempo (since if you recruit Forma Dimitri you'll get his Prf B anyway) so you can play with that; that way even if he's slower than foes, he'll still get 50% DR Pierce on them.
Plus it's not like he's even fast or anything, his Spd is very average
And someone like Hortensia or Legendary Wood or whoever can provide Canto 1 can make up for the loss of Murderous Lion's Canto
40 base speed apparently has him ranked at 186/1077. No Superboon in it, but at +10, +Spd, and max flowers (currently +20), he hits 51 Spd before a weapon and passives; I think that's perfectly serviceable and above average.
Give it to her Res instead and giver her still water in her seal as well since you're running a ploy on her c slot, also try to make it atk/res ploy instead
43 Spd seems pretty slow to me anon, why doesn't he have 52 Spd at base with a superboon and then he gets 15 Spd from his weapon and then inflicts -4 Spd/Def with his B skill and then gets unpierceable DR and he also
I disagree, nowadays "some" seasonal units are easy to merge. Well only recent ones are the easiest to merge due to having their debut and DSH banners to show up on making it possible to potentially +10 them in a single year. And during anniversaries we now get special hero tickets that can potentially give you free merges on old special heroes. The main issues with merging special heroes is just saving enough for when they return and holding off summoning for the new powercreep and not knowing whether the new heroes will be meta-defining for the remainder of the year or not. If you lack self control then full merging seasonals is a pipe dream since you'll never have enough orbs to max merge them since their time window to get copies is vastly limited unlike the main pool heroes.

He seems like he's trying to be an enemy phase unit in the current day and age, and I do like that his playstyle references his Emblem abilities in Engage
He was able to take on that Rearmedhardt and even survived a quadruple strike
But, I'm sure AoE and super pre-combat damage will still spell his demise
His Engage effect also gives the unpierceable DR that's present on Armored Floe/Beacon and gives that to anyone's Special, so that's nice

How would you design a Pegasus Flight 4? Since we got Wyvern Flight 4 with Rosado's Wyvern Rift, which actually made the skill pretty useful. They haven't done that for Pegasus Flight yet, but something that works with a combined high Spd + Res that Pegasus Knights tend to have would be nice.

Always about ten minutes before reset. The next opportunity to do so comes in about 1½ days, which is also the one I would recommend because then you'll comfortably receive Severa even if something goes wrong. By subbing at that time you'll get Celica (last ten minutes, make sure to redeem quickly), then Severa right afterwards, then Hector, and if you're attentive you'll get whoever follows Hector too. This last part will require for you to log into the game BEFORE reset for Hector hits and then immediately redeem the 4th resplendent after reset. Thight schedule, but that's the only way to max out pass rewards.
Also gotta make sure to clear the missions too. Sucks that I wasn't able to do that trick the last time I had to get the pass for sparking due to the banners' schedule.

Right now, my Anna has 51 visible speed (Spd boon +17 DF), and her skills boost her into an effective speed in the 70s, so I generally haven't had much trouble with followups in BHBs and Arena (where I can pick her targets)
It's really fun to do all of these in 1 go
Ploy 4 and Desert Igrene make these so much easier

They bring the clothes issue in a FB, and not ever changing out of it as a joke, or something. It's likely because that hero might have only had a seasonal unit and IS wanted them to be in the FB so they point out the awkwardness of the situation. FEH's "lore" is all over the place. Some heroes dialogue imply they've been summoned in that attire, some say they were just invited to the festival. I think every OC suggest it's the "real" version that was just invited, but things like FB has Gunnthra get brought up like as if she's dead. IS just doesn't keep track of it and don't care too which is part of the reason they constantly say "NOT THE HERO YOU KNOW!".

How often do we get Forma souls? I like this Halloween Corrin from the recent one but was wondering if it’s a rare enough resource for me to justify saving it for potentially weeks or months? I remember I got the summer elincia recently from one of the ones before this so maybe it isn’t that rare? Also what are Forma allies good for? I tried using the forma summer eli to merge with my regular summer eli and it doesn’t let you use them for that, inheritance, or combat manuals. Are these units worse or better than regular ones in some way?
On a side note, is there any benefit to getting a character in 3 or 4 stars to max level before unlocking their potential? Also, what are combat manuals good for?

Yeah, you might as well. Merges beyond +1 aren't that important for most situations, but if Elincia ever turns up as a bonus unit in the Arena, it might give you the slightest edge to have a merged copy of her available. (For Arena purposes the rule is: the more merges the better.) Problem being of course, she'd still need a lot of investment to boot, which kinda defeats the point of having her bought with a Forma soul. But if you like Elincia and still want to use her, what else can you do?

In the Coliseum at the very top, like the other anon said. It's a mode where you battle live against other players. Think of it as speed chess. Of course it comes with all the drawbacks of PvP modes in this game i.e. the higher you go, the more p2w it becomes. But you can still get your Forma soul in a reasonable amount of time since it's sitting pretty low on the rewards ladder. In order to gain Favor from a match, you need to have defeated at least one enemy unit. Surrendering at the start of a match is not going to net you any rewards. It's best to play SD on the weekends, because the amount of Favor you gain from matches is increased during that time.
Take note that the Favor you win is ascribed to your team captain, no other unit on your team. Your three units with the highest Favor turn up on your account profile card as your favorite units. Just in case that's important to you, although hardly anybody ever looks at those profile cards.

As someone who's been playing for just over a year, my experience has been that Forma souls are indeed rare enough that you should consider very carefully what to spend them on. HoF events are a regular occurence and if you are a new player there is a good chance they will constantly entice you with their selection, because there so many units you don't have yet which you'd like to add to your collection. No matter how many Forma souls you get, just like with orbs it'll never be enough. The next HoF is very likely going to be lineup #1 (3H summer) from pic related, so take into consideration whether you like one of those more than Corrin.
As the other anon said, you can get Forma souls from the celestial stone shop, but it costs 3 celestial stones and you can only buy one every 6 months. (The shop is going to reset soon, so if you haven't bought the Forma soul from this 6 month period yet, it's highly recommended to do so.) Added to the Forma souls handed out for special occasions, this means you'll normally only get an average of 4 Forma souls per year. There is also one free Forma soul hidden away in the Summoner Duel rewards, which you can acquire with a bit of grinding if you haven't already.
You should only spend Forma souls on units you really like a lot, and it's probably wise to keep one Forma soul in stock at all times, just in case your most favorite unit in the entire roster unexpectedly turns up in HoF. On the flip side, if you're out of Forma souls it's not like this will look you out of getting something important gameplaywise. Forma units are always at least slightly behind the curve, although the point of HoF is to be a fast-track to premium skills which would otherwise take much more effort to get for your unit.
With all that said, I have used a Forma soul for Halloween Corrin too, because she's cute and the blue stars fit her well.

I think I'd rather get a Canto X skill and stick with Flow Desperation in the B slot. I'll put Soaring Guidance back in her C slot if we ever get that.
I actually pulled Catria from my latest Arena ticket. I now have her at a whopping +1 but she came with a Spd boon, so that was nice. The built-in warp in her refined prf can be pretty fun to use actually.

I for my part think HoF and Seer's Snare are just about the only enjoyable modes left in this game. It's fun to build up a team more or less from scratch without having the scales tipped too much in your favor (PvE modes which allow you to bring all your most roided out cancer units) or the opposite (PvP modes which force you to engage with the roided out cancer units from other players who spent money to make them extra cancerous). HoF and Seer's Snare are the only modes that have some faint semblance of game balance left.
Abyssals should just start including non-generics to make PvE interesting once a month. The Alears should've had the lords in their fights.

100% agreed. After all, their weapons give them a bigger stat swing depending on how many nearby allies hail from different games.
I think the one and only time they've ever done this is randomly add Legendary Marth to Askr's battle, and that's just because Askr actually REQUIRES a unit from another game for his C skill to work (while all generics technically count as hailing from Heroes).
At this point Limited Hero Battles and Seer's Snare are the only modes I still enjoy.
Seer's Snare is the best mode they've come up with in such a long time, it's very fun

The good thing you only need 1 built unit for each column. The other slot in each column can be used for whatever unit you want since the game only checks for highest scoring unit of each column and calculates them only in the final score. Other than that it is all based on not letting a unit die or losing a gate.
Mythic units don't actually affect scoring in any meaningful way, as the Major/Minor seasons just treat them as having an additional +5/+10 merges. If they're high merged it's more beneficial to run them, but if you have an unmerged Mythic, they'll score as well as any other +10 you have built.
So Ascended units are just not a thing anymore huh

I look forward to these banners, but some of the alt decisions are just dumb or are there due to dev bias. You can't look me straight in the eyes and tell me that Reinhardt and Caeda deserved those alts over Minerva and Olwen. It's just a shit stain on an otherwise decent banner. Merric is one of the few characters deserving of the ascended status from fe1/3 and Arlen is his rival so it makes sense to add them together. And I was looking forward to Safy and Lara for the longest time. I don't plan on rolling on this banner, but it's good outside of the Caeda wanking

When aiming for a specific unit on a sparkable banner, is it more orb efficient to snipe colors or to just run full circles and hope for the best? Has anyone done the math? Somehow I get the feeling that color sniping might actually be pointless, at least for f2p players who only go up to 40 summmons most of the time, because it's so easy to get pitybroken. Last time I did color sniping I got nothing out of it, but instead of paying 160 orbs to get my consolation spark, I paid over 180.

Same. She's been sitting on a 3 year old build copied from Dancing Ethlyn. It worked fine up until a year or so ago when everyone started geting 50+DR. The new Arcane dagger just isn't that great for her, and the other fodder she needs can be hard to come by.
I remember being upset at Eir and Surtr back in the day because "oc units" were getting good prf skills left and right and mainline characters were left to rot with shitry inheritable/prf.weapons. But I changed my attitude and now I wish there was more Eir hentai.

Surtr was nuts sure, but I don't recall Eir/Fjorm, or other OCs being too crazy. Especially with Legendary/Mythic units coming out for mainline titles. People even complained that the Askr trio was unusable. book 2 was around when they started giving out more PRFs to everyone, but it was still much rarer compared to today.
IMO FEH characters need decent/good skills because they don't come with any emotional attachment that players might have with previous mainline games. They end up having to compete against those characters and one of the main way a player bonds with a character is based on how the character performs. At the very least it gets people to give the OCs a chance, and IS needs the FEH characters to be able to stand on their own. Normally you would have decent stories but IS sucks at writing.
I wish they weren't so lazy about writing. It would be nice to see people get more into the FEH characters or get excited for them.

Gullveig got lucky and had a lot of things going for her.
The trailer was really good, and got people hyped, she was extremely coom heavy, and hinted at being for the player, and her winning CYL kind of cemented that hype for a while. It helps that book 7 was a bit more coherently written and a fun concept, which is strange given it's a time travel book written by IS. I get the feeling that if she hadn't won CYL then her hype would have died down, but the the FB and CYL event gave her even more spotlight which helped even more. She will likely fade over time like everyone else but she has a hell of a start.
In a similar vein, plumeria was hyped up as a meme vote, but lost due to 3h being in its first CYL and thus interest faded a lot faster.

despite being an oldgay, I never used to interact with any part of the FE fanbase besides here a year or so ago. Was Plumy really a meme pick? Regardless I'm glad my favorite feh character got an extra alt and backpack, even if inorganically.
Plumeria was a bit of a meme pick because she was brand new and thus everyone was just voting for her because she was hot and had the title of "Fairy of lewd dreams" IE Wet dream fairy.
She managed to get 3rd/4th off just and the only people higher than her were the 3h lords and Lysithea. While it's hard to tell where those votes would have gone if 3H was delayed entry into CYL, if you remove them entirely then Plumeria would have won 1st place female.
I would have preferred Plumeria winning over Lysithea in that CYL, but it's a tall order going up against 3H when it was basically brand new. It might have helped keep her relevant or perhaps earned her another alt or two as IS might have noticed her more. She's my favorite book 4 fairy, and the backstory to the fairies was fairly enjoyable with the irony of Plumeria's being the best IMO.

I don't get how people struggle with the askr trio quests. Mine are 5 star with Gen 1 fodder and I never have an issue. A modern dancer, heidr, or anyone with decent support abilities make it a breeze.
I manage with four star versions pretty easily enough. Just TA and whatever breaker skill and support does the trick
I usually use Thief Leila to help with the chip damage, and haven't felt the need to upgrade the Askr trio yet
Brave Camilla + dancer usually does the trick for most BHB quests for me. If need be, can always take it a quest at a time instead of just going for both kills at once.

Two generic line from Sharena is not going to help(they are not going to wrote different dialog for x and their alt) when

TT was fun content originally as CC wasn't out yet, I think, and the difficulty was higher near release. The issue was grinding out the 100k points was unbearable. I ended up just getting the free 4* copy and dipping for the first two.

Actually breddy good, if you like him and want to use him. Getting No Quarter out of HoF is nice. Never had it turn up once, although to be fair I didn't grind for Eldigan beyond giving him a kit that made sure he wouldn't be dead weight. But don't fall into the trap of spending a buttplug just because you vaguely like the guy and the skills are good enough, only for him to collect dust in your barracks afterwards. It happened to me, it can happen to you too.

Can't go wrong with any of them, really. Soren depends on you actually having a unit that would want to become a Save tank, though.
Chrom, because his prf skill has been "future proofed" to a degree. He can copy buffs from his allies, including whatever IS may come up with next.
Seliph might still be able to perform in the right circumstances, but his prf has a hard counter in the meta now.
The other two have become irrelevant.
I think Chrom has actually stood the test of time, as someone who still uses him pretty regularly. There's new status effects being added monthly, some units either grant themselves or other units one or two, and Chrom can kinda be built like a swiss army knife in a way. And, because there's no limit on the stat buffs he gets from the statuses, then he can kinda match the on going stat creep. Plus, A Fate Changed! is not just fun for stealing statuses, but it also helps move your allies around.
Unfortunately, Byleth, Tiki, and even Seliph have all fallen off, the former two more quickly than the others, while Seliph just doesn't have the sheer firepower (no DR pierce) or survivability (as his Miracle can only go so far to help), especially since he also can't keep up with the stat creep as well. I eventually started using him less because he just couldn't keep up.
However, all four ARE getting refines later this year, so that's something to keep in mind. Maybe those three will get what they need (like maybe Tiki will get flat Res based DR that can't be pierced), while I can't imagine Chrom getting too much since he's already doing pretty good.

Gullveig is the best braindead offensive unit on that banner, mine still kills 99% of stuff but it's maxed out
Robin gives a great buff and is a solid unit, good if you don't have a lot of strong units as his buff should be unique and can help weaker units.
Soren is solid but he shines in modes like SD or when you get into team building as his main power let's non armors become save units.
Femui has aged the worst because meta favors nukes but she is still a solid save armor. She is good for auto battle clearing old content.
IMO robin/gullveig are the better choices, but the others are fine too.
Brave seliph or chrom are supposed to be great choices, but I hear more good about seliph than chrom. Chrom might have more value now that buffs are becoming more prominent as he is supposed to be able to steal them or something like that

Robin currently holds up best with his support and warp shenanigans. However his damage reduction has gone down in usefulness a lot. If you want a unit from this banner which is both useful and not so easily replaced by something more recent, you should pick him.
Gully is still a very solid nuke but has been noticeably overtaken in her role by several other units who have come after her. Flared Sparrow alone, however, continues to be very valuable fodder for any flier you'd like to build.
Corrin is still good if you are in need of a Far Tank for PvE content, but she has fallen off hard in PvP. Wouldn't really recommend.
Soren has has niche uses, but since the current meta heavily favors nukes over tanks as the other anon mentioned, I can't recommend him either.
Gullveig and Corrin are still good, but other units can do their job better (save tank and flier nuke respectively), you kinda have to give Special Spiral 4 to Corrin for her to even do her job now
Soren can turn any unit into a save tank, but that also requires you to have other units built up for that role, and you gotta Def match
Although, he can still put up a fight nowadays because his whole kit checks for Res and he's got pretty good Res, way, way more than basically every physical unit
Robin is the most universally supportive, because a free +5 to all stats and the ability to get a Special charge during combat is immense, especially if you pair that up with Emblem Marth (if you have him)
Unfortunately his combat is pretty standard, just regular pierceable DR in both his weapon and B skill, and he doesn't have any means of Null Follow-Up so he needs to get that somehow, either as a status or as the Seal
Basically, Soren or Robin would be your best bet, unless you specifically have Special Spiral 4 in which case Corrin
I still haven't done either of these lol. Rolled a robin and just having the B skill fodder is good plus he provides pretty good support. Corrin also is a tanky distant save tank with tanky terrain built in.
the Tiki one was kind of shit and I cannot think of a speed pre-empt use for this day. I am a brainlet don't listen to anything I have to say about this CYL banner. The chrom sharing buffs could turn into big money one day especially if you give him those distant speed defense arrow A skills coming out.

I think I saw someone who asked support and they confirmed you can refresh a Rearmed unit with the manual or just use it as regular fodder. Once someone can get it it'll be easy enough to just put it in the merge preview to confirm.
I am actually in awe of the codes they gave this is some really good shit and you wont be able to get a lot of it for a long time. I still haven't touched most of codes 1-3 they should allow codes to be fricking universal at this point. Outside of the seasonal or timed codes whatever they're called.

It does work the other way around. You merge a fresh Peony into an exhausted one, the exhausted Peony becomes fresh again and can be used to pass on any of the skills she has accumulated once again.
What's more, the same holds true for the rearmed manuals they introduced recently. These manuals will refresh their unit when merged into it.

What does that mean? Caeda herself gets all stats +6, so is that 24 DR right there? And if there's an ally with, say, Atk/Spd+6 then does that become 36 DR, or is it still 24 because her total is the highest, rather than it being the total of all units?
I believe it's the latter. It'll check for the highest total of bonuses between her and her allies. So she'll pretty much always be able to shave off 24 damage, but that number can get higher if you can somehow provide greater buffs (which are pretty rare, most buffs just do +6).
I guess it would be too OP if she totalled all allies' bonuses like Brave Marth. I could stick her on a team with Seidr for +8 blue buffs but that's diminishing returns territory.

Edelgard and Dimitri do canonically have young designs, and they could easily just be a Duo Hero Dagger unit with like a billion effects, which could include mega DR piercing that destroys the likes of Godlike Reflexes or even any other Special effect.

They technically can use Echo skills, but they have to unequip their prf skill to do so. Meaning that you're not getting cucked by Beorc's blessing or other horseshit prfs when you prefer to let the unit in question use an echo skill.

It's a fine enough bow, it'll get the job done if you don't have a good enough prf (or any prf at all).
If you don't have anyone suited for it though, you can't go wrong with just foddering her for Guidance 4 and maybe Atk/Spd Unity while you're at it. Deadeye too if you're able, but you'd need other flying archers to make the most of all her fodder.

She's alright, in the sense that the baseline for every new premium unit is to be better than what came a couple months before. But she doesn't represent the kind of jump in powercreep like 3H christmas or Valentine did. Her shelf life will be far shorter than any of those, because the next jump in powercreep can't be too far off now. The upcoming Emblem banner might invalidate her immediately. So her main use is going to be as a skill bank for infantry units.
IS really needs to do something about year 1 units and dragonflowers. Just building one unit costs 3000 flowers

There's two different types of warps, there's the kind that Oath 4/Atk Oath Echo provide, where you can warp to a space adjacent to any ally within two spaces
And then there's the better, super warp that you see on stuff like Aerial Maneuvers and Wings of Mercy 4, where you can warp to any space within two spaces of an ally
Emblem Celica, if she provides warping, will provide the latter
I just have to wonder if she'll either have a draw back, a limitation, or simply allow specific unit types to do more stuff though
Like... maybe that super warp is only for infantry and fliers, while cavalry and armours just get the regular warping of the former

Her B skill is unfortunately kind of outdated, she could put Weaving Fighter to better use since it provides more DR (active all the time rather than for the first combat of the phase)

As for the rest, it depends on if you want to (try) and make her a Near or Far Save tank, there's not really much else she's got for options

I don't think that's quite right. It's not that NFU is useless, it's that NFU is necessary and everywhere. It's more that "unit makes a guaranteed follow-up attack" and "foe cannot make a follow-up attack" are useless-- precisely because of NFU.

literally me, although a workaround for most skills (if they're active already) is that you can click the ! that shows someone's buffs, since they're written significantly more concise there.

The fault lies with IS 100% for designing this shitty p2w chess. It didn't have to be this way, they could've monetized Feh by selling cosmetics, it has worked well enough for other games. Instead they decided to sell advantages over other players, which is the driving force behind the powercreep spiralling completely out of control and consequently the horrid state of every PvP mode.
by far and large the community refuses to roll if the latest banner doesn't have powercreep skills to inherit or units they can use to effortlessly beat others in pvp with.
And who has conditioned the community to do so? Of course that's what people who engage with PvP modes will do when they know perfectly well that the game requires them to spend their limited resources on the most broken units and best fodder. Who would want to get fricked over by rolling on a banner without powercreep if the next banner introducing new powercreep is always right around the corner? Can't blame the community for following the incentives laid down by IS.

First time I made it into the Vault of Heaven. How'd I do? My Aether Keep was attacked 12 times and successfully defended only 4 times. Only 1 time did this entail defeating all of the attacking team, 3 times the attackers escape laddered away after losing 2 units although they probably could've won the engagement.
I suspect my cruddy defense prevented me from getting a Golden throne and I know for a fact it prevented me from staying in the Vault. I kept experimenting and shuffling around units and terrains but as a f2p player except getting the pass this one time for Severa I think this is probably my ceiling. I don't have the resources to recreate any of the cancer defenses I had to go up against, nevermind fielding full merges or anything like that.
What teams do ya got, anon? Your offense teams, I mean
A ragtag bunch of misfits, leaning heavily on V!Lyon (freerolled), S!Chloe and A!Ivy (sparked). All unmerged and uninvested except for getting them Reposition. Then for scoring purposes I was essentially forced to use Reginn, Ratatoskr, Edelgard and Tiki. Likewise unmerged. I experimented a bit with different team compositions here too, but much less than on the defense. V!Lyon is so absurdly gamebreaking, he is more than half the reason my attack team performed very admirably. I did run out of escape ladders, but in all the raids I won I never scored below 340, all thanks to luckily freerolling the single worst powercreep unit in the game at this time.
What does your defense look like?
My most successful defense was centered around Chloe, trying to get a cheap shot in if the attacker should overlook that she has/gives Charge. Never really quite works though, players in the Vault seem to be more attentive than that. Problem is, I have none of the premium stuff for defense. No Canto control, no Warp control, no Medeus, no Sanaki, no Gullveig, no Sigurd, etc etc. Name what you want from the most horrid defense setups, I probably don't have it. Can't build a cav line, can't build a tank turtle. So I keep changing up my defense in the vain hope of striking gold on accident.
Honestly, I think the best types of defenses in Vault are either:
>Cheap shots that kill Save Tanks that are hard to Galeforce
>A team that has such overwhelming movement potential that they can nuke multiple units once you approach
I use almost all Camilla on my team (7th slot Mythic because it's a free slot that can't be Camilla); I've got 2 sources of Soaring movement (one Cam with Soaring Guidance and another with Soaring Echo) and then 3 huge attackers (Legendary Cam, Ninja Cam, and Bathcam with Arcane Void, Lethality, and Desperation 4). I get a lot of defense wins from a tank + one or two other units getting killed, but the defense wins are usually Galeforce teams.

God, I could only dream of it. I try to use my faves as much as I can, but it's hard man. Feels terrible when they just drag the team down.
I've used an all Camilla defense for as long as I could. At first, it just relied on using Goad Fliers on everyone and outspeeding but then powercreep skills came out and it was a rough few years. Ninjacam and L!Cam have made the defenses pretty competitive because if people didn't bring a Ninjacam counter they were entirely screwed and now I've got L!Cam as a crazy good tank buster.

Ignore defense and just roll for light/astra mythic merges. My defense flopped this week and I lost 165 lift with 8 wins and 4 losses, but I stayed in top 1k at rank 532 because I have +10 Plumeria, +10 Seidr, and +10 Thorr.

What is there not to get?

Finish every round with as much HP as possible. This can be achieved by attacking first, healing to offset damage, using HP seals/skills to boost Max HP, and using team synergy combos to get bonus HP.
>Attack priority
Attack priority is given to units with the highest level starting with the front row. If your unit and enemy unit have the same exact lvl then priority is then given to a speed check of the faster unit. IIRC if both units are exactly same lvl and speed for some reason priority is given at random between the two units.
>Use unique effects, terrain, and debuffs
Give yourself an overwhelming advantage by using these things to get an advantage on your opponent. Skills like Edelgard's raging storm, Gullveig's extra actions, Flash effects, NY!Seiðr to shutdown an enemy's actions and the various terrains.
>Have Friends
Obviously you won't be able to beat the various powercreep or obtain the new toys alone so make as many friends as possible to supplement your team's lacking power and synergy bonus with friends' units.
That is all you really need to know to get max score beyond luck.

Unless you are literally named Byleth and have another Byleth attached to your hip, you cannot enemy phase anymore

Pretty much anything that boosts attack and speed. He doesn't need to worry about taking damage since his Prf B negates counter attacks if he's solo.

This should bring NQ to 2 CD and if he hits the Spd requirement then he'll immediately pop off No Quarter since he gets Brave Hits (assuming foe doesn't have a Tempo like effect or Guard).
Heck you can even grab Spd/Def Tempo (since if you recruit Forma Dimitri you'll get his Prf B anyway) so you can play with that; that way even if he's slower than foes, he'll still get 50% DR Pierce on them.
Plus it's not like he's even fast or anything, his Spd is very average
And someone like Hortensia or Legendary Wood or whoever can provide Canto 1 can make up for the loss of Murderous Lion's Canto
40 base speed apparently has him ranked at 186/1077. No Superboon in it, but at +10, +Spd, and max flowers (currently +20), he hits 51 Spd before a weapon and passives; I think that's perfectly serviceable and above average.

I disagree, nowadays "some" seasonal units are easy to merge. Well only recent ones are the easiest to merge due to having their debut and DSH banners to show up on making it possible to potentially +10 them in a single year. And during anniversaries we now get special hero tickets that can potentially give you free merges on old special heroes. The main issues with merging special heroes is just saving enough for when they return and holding off summoning for the new powercreep and not knowing whether the new heroes will be meta-defining for the remainder of the year or not. If you lack self control then full merging seasonals is a pipe dream since you'll never have enough orbs to max merge them since their time window to get copies is vastly limited unlike the main pool heroes.
My current F!Edelgard in HoF looks like this. What skills should I keep or swap?

He seems like he's trying to be an enemy phase unit in the current day and age, and I do like that his playstyle references his Emblem abilities in Engage
He was able to take on that Rearmedhardt and even survived a quadruple strike
But, I'm sure AoE and super pre-combat damage will still spell his demise
His Engage effect also gives the unpierceable DR that's present on Armored Floe/Beacon and gives that to anyone's Special, so that's nice
