No, still abstaining myself from spending orbs, I finally got back to 400 and I'll keep saving as much as I can. That and I detest the concept of Emblem Heroes in FEH.
All DR piercing effects so far specifically negate DR from non-special skills, and emblem skills are like an addition to a unit's special, so Ike's emblem DR is unpierceable. The only DR special skill that can be disabled is Vital Astra, but only because it says so in its description.
I really should, I feel like his emblem skill will pretty much become mandatory for ranged tanks from now on. But the Fates NH banner is right around the corner, I can't afford any expenses.
Luckily he comes back in May colorsharing with emblem Marth, I'll just wait for that banner.

Which unit of yours do you think Ike's emblem effect benefits the most? For me, probably Freyja. She really needed some form of avoiding being fully DR pierced.
I've been trying to figure out how ike would work with fjorms ice mirror but this is a weird moment where she might want a higher cd count to work with laguz friend.

I'm at my fricking limit. The fact that pre-combat damage is basically the only thing that works right now fricking sucks,
you can always just take him on enemy phase if you want instead. if you have a character with a scowl effect, or slap Veyl on your team to deny great aether.
I don't like this trend of unpierceable DR, it makes units useless unless they use AoE or pre-combat damage. I hope we'll eventually get ways to pierce it (same with flat DR too).
It's an eternal game of powercreep ping pong where you either get to nuke everything and tank nothing or tank everything and nuke nothing. The ball's been in the nuke court for a couple months, now it's making it's way back to tanking, but don't you worry: Won't be long before IS tries to sell you another solution in the form of a nuke piercing "unpiercable" DR, and then afterwards sell you the solution to that, and so on and so forth, until EoS.
This was the first clear I had to actually completely overhaul this team's skills, at least Byleth's
Trying to Divine Pulse Vantage just isn't cutting it anymore whatsoever, at least not until her refine where it (maybe) could pierce DR
But, her weapon does lend well to AoE spamming assuming no Guard, and that was pretty much the only way I could stand up to Ike and how damn tanky he is
I did not build one of my favorite characters this whole time because her base art was that attrocious. Binding Worlds is not a solution. How about this, you cut the max flower count to 20, every 5 flowers is +3 to each stat for gen 1 - 2 units, players can also allocate these stats however they want too. So if your character doesn't need an increase to speed, you can move all those to their other stats however you like, do you want to meme arden to infinity? you can allocate all his new stats to HP.
Oof, I'm m having trouble too on getting Ike. I'm already half way in and haven't gotten a 5*. I dread this will only lead to me getting a random 5* when I eventually get a circle without any red orbs.
Kinda, it's a skill that mainly benefits slower units with high Def or Res, but the way it's designed should allow even units without -1 Special to easily activate and loop GLR, if I understand it right
On top of that, such units will be able to pierce through regular DR, which only Severa really got to do before

I don't think so, because that would defeat the purpose of giving you such DR to begin with
Basically there's three types of DR (at least): >1. % based DR that can be pierced, often built into B skills like the Dodge skills or Weaving Fighter >2. % DR that cannot be pierced, often built into Specials (like Great Aether) >3. Fixed/flat DR that also cannot be pierced, often mitigating the damage you take equal to 20% of a stat (like Laguz Friend or Brave Dimitri's weapon)
If you have the first kind of DR (like if it's built into your weapon or you have the Dodge status), then Laguz Friend will halve that amount in exchange for giving you all the other effects
Ike doesn't have that (he's got the latter two kinds of DR instead), so it's more of a draw back if you happen to use Laguz Friend on other units that have access to that first method of DR in other ways

Nah, the fixed DR has never been pierceable, and will always be able to mitigate some damage for you, just that the effect is much rarer
The regular DR that Dodge (and similar effects) provide rely on stat comparisons, comparing your Spd (or Res, in the case of Dragon Wall) to the opponent's
As opposed to fixed/flat DR which just checks for your respective stat and works off of that alone

Please correct me if I’m wrong but Laguz Friend reduces the user’s damage reduction by half but also gives them damage reduction based on their def or Res and completely invalidates all damage reduction when the users skill has a cooldown of 3 or more? If that’s correct that means Gambit and Guard Echo I gave to Gerik literally 2 weeks ago is completely useless against units with Laguz Friend? And by extension it also invalidates both versions of Askr too?

I guess that’s true but I find it comical that I start using Gerik and Askr on as bonus team then Tina is released basically a month later and then I give Gerik more skills with damage reduction and here’s a skill that can negate all of it in some fashion literally two weeks later. Of course not everyone has Tina or making every unit they have use Laguz Friend but it’s the start of it sooner or later.

No, all DR neutralization skills only affect non-special skills that shave off a percentage of the damage that would be normally taken.

For so long I thought since it was in his weapon instead of a Special it was affected by stuff like Phys/Mag null-Follow up or Legendary Veronica’s Enclosure. So if that’s the case Askr and probably even his New Year’s alt can make use of Laguz Friend for 40% DR based on his defense. But would it be better than Counter Roar Or Special Spiral 4? I know both Askr’s, Gerik, and Mauvier can use or enable others to use Prime since all of them grant two different bonuses. However Gerik and Mauvier overlap since they both give Null Panic so keep that in mind if ever want to make a bonus team.

as a unit he's pretty stupid enough, but emblem inheritance lasts theoretically forever and its only opportunity cost is other emblem skills, which are all limited to one copy anyways
Depends on your orb stash and whether you have Feh pass for sparking. Emblem Ike is strictly better than anything you might get from AHR, but if you're f2p and have a limited amount of orbs to burn then rolling on AHR at least gives you a spark for whichever unit you want there. Those b8% banners come with a high risk that you'll walk away with nothing if you aren't willing to spend actual money or don't have hoarded lots of orbs in advance.
I summoned on ike's banner, i used about 250 orbs and got 3 embla's, so i am going to wait for the next couple of banners before maybe pulling more on this banner.
How do you player phase Emblem Ike? Even with Hardy Bearing it feels like you need to also have Scowl (which is an enemy phase effect) so you don't get smacked by Great Aether in retaliation

Yeah, Lyon still puts Ike in the grave under most circumstances, but if he gets a little outsourced DR from someone like Elimine or Flayn, he survives by taking Lyon's actual hit down to 0.

Any unit that can provide themselves with a status effect so that you only have to give a few more from others
Brave Chrom, incidentally, can just take status effects, can potentially have one to start with if you give him Alarm, so I think it's a skill meant for him

She uses GLR though, and it's not like her Def or Res are that good or anything, and you need your Special to have a charge of 3 or more, whereas I have GLR set to 1 with Emblem Marth
I can't spare orbs, but I had considered giving it to Fjorm to try to work with her Ice mirror, but it has 2CD.
Maybe if a mage Fjorm comes out I can get her a bladetome to make it 3CD, and have it work.

The wording makes it confusing but defensive specials are separate from the 3+ cooldown restriction. I'm pretty sure Ice/Frostbite Mirror, Godlike Reflexes, and Negating Fang will all trigger with it regardless of their max cooldown. It at least works to autocharge the basic skills like Sacred Cowl.

I gave it to Attuned Caeda and passed it over to Asc Tiki along with engaging her to Ike experimenting a little in E!Ike's map to wall him. Thinking of trying Dragon's Stone+ with Laguz Friend, it seems like a fun combo. It's a shame the above thing about defensive specials wouldn't work with Dragon's Roar so it doesn't work with her prf weapon.

GLR should work just fine with it, and in fact, will precharge it in combat before the foe attacks (to make up for the fact that you're giving up Buffer 4)
Of course, you could still keep it looped with Time's Pulse 4 and Emblem Marth, and you should still be able to get the full benefits (with GLR to protect you, 20% of your Def or Res to also mitigate damage, and you get to pierce through regular DR upon retaliation)

IS might not want to create one because of just how good reposition is. The only time anyone ever seems to bring the stat buff skills is for Arena scoring, and making a reposition that ties with it score wise then makes every other skill obsolete. It's why the only upgraded reposition is a PRF skill.
He's the one who needs the refine the least
But, at the very least, he's gonna get an extra +5 to all stats, get 40% DR on foe's first attacks (counting Brave attacks), and... idk

He benefits from it a ton from what I've seen, but you'd probably want to build him with Glacies to meet the CD requirement with Ike engage and Atk/Res Ploy 4. He has the benefit of AoE damage reduction but loses out on the NCD effect Ike has in his weapon. If you put them together as a tank team they're especially strong.

Remakes are a weird state where it's almost pointless if the original is still good and accessible, but changing it too much means it really isn't the same game. I kind understand because FE4 was fun to play and seeing it get a glow-up like Gaiden did might be fun to see, but overall isn't necessary.
It might be faithful gameplay-wise if Echoes s anything to go by. apparently Echoes was faithful to a fault, but I've also ran into one of the few supposed Gaiden-gays and he LOATHED what IS did to the plot.

Of course, it's easy to download a rom and play it on an emulator. But you still have to deal with the downsides to the games, like the nonexistent unit balance, for one. I'm sure there are rom hacks that fix that, sure, but that's hardly the same. There's nothing wrong with wanting a remake of this, again, nearly 30 year old game

Remember, you or I may have access to the game via emulation (I even played it on 3DS a long while back)
But the average Fire Emblem fan who just buys the games, does not
So having it be remade would make it more accessible to such fans, and for veterans, they would get to see what gets changed (for better and for worse)

She was at the tail end of Book 1, for the longest time I couldn't remember if she was an early Book 2 unit or not. I still remember the shitfit her outfit caused, along with Bridal Snacki and I think Summer YTiki. Good times, now no one outside of the players care
The designs are actually starting to get a little stale, especially considering how much they clearly favor newer games and their characters
Top 6 most voted Awakening character, even above FMorgan, yet IS thinks it's appropriate to waste bridal alts on fricking Say'ri and Flavia, two of the most unpopular characters in the game overall.
I was lucky enough to only encounter him once in my runs. Even L!Dimitri couldn't get past him, not without Hardy Bearing, at least.
AoE skills frick over Ike pretty hard, they should start making Tier 4 AoE skills at this point.
Yeah, I put him on my defense team this morning and already got three victories lmao. AR is even funnier, I paired him with Gotoh and just hit the end turn button while I watched Lyons and Sanakis and Gullveig feed themselves into the wood chipper. This unit fricking rules so hard.
Emblem Ike is kinda bullshit but he plays almost exactly like how he did in Engage, so I can't be mad at him.

AR was my most hated mode until I got him. Cav lines don't scare me anymore, just Reposition and End Turn, frick those c**ts (I want to try to +10 him, but that seems impossible)
Seems like you need a unit with DR-piercing on normal attacks, Hardy Bearing Seal and some form of Miracle to kill Ike if he's blocking AoEs with Gotoh.
Possibly because Miracle/healing is one of the better ways to wall him out, especially if you have scowl support to delay Great Aether. Without the ability to heal or avoid being oneshot, Ike will always outlast you.
Get your three highest scoring +10s, give them wind blessings and put them in a team with Elincia.
Clearing it perfectly will be significantly harder, but you'll get a way higher score.
Units like Ike and the fact that he's essentially paywalled make me hate this game. I can only hope and pray that my frustration will finally reach the point where it outweighs my sunk cost idiocy.

There are several OCs and npcs that could be on the list as well, but playable mainline characters are running "low". They could probably do the banner 2-3 more times with just Engage/3H and be fine.
Veyle and Alear at least. Shez probably gets another slot because IS won't be able to help putting a 3H character in it, and then we'll get some rando from an older game to round it out. Maybe Sephiran or Greil or something. The freebie might be where we finally get Nergal.

We went from having super player phase nuke after super player phase nuke with tons of DR piercing and stripping you of over half your HP just because you blinked, to a unit that just gets even BETTER damage reduction and can also still pierce through regular DR without a problem.
I genuinely do not know how to player phase Ike and I fear we'll get more of these unkillable tanks. Or maybe it'll swing back the other way and we'll get super Gullveig or something.
Only way I can even defeat an enemy Ike right now is with my Ike with a RS Maria behind him. They are going to have to make a unit that says “if this unit initiates combat it wins.” Or something.

Laguz friend is such a a busted skill. I was using a friend's unit in VG and they were a red unit and ate two consecutive W! Edelgard specials and killed her on retaliation when they were supposed to be dealing 0 damage to her from retaliation. I fear running into that skill in arena now.

With how volatile the state of the game has been for the past year or two, I wouldn't recommend sparking or rolling for meta reasons. Only spark if you really like the character and are gonna use them regardless of performance or if they have fodder that you're really gonna need for your favorites

Why cares about non-Ike units in the post-Ike era? Caeda isn't measured by her performance against year one shitters, she's measured by her performance against Ike.

I'm back in VoH again this season, but between now and 1½ weeks ago, my situation has only detoriated. I did get my first silver throne (pictured), but I'm also more certain than ever that it represents the limit of what I can achieve without opening my wallet. My slapdash cav line imitation, largely built from the most loathsome powercreepers at my disposal, now gets effortlessly solo'd by Emblem Ike. For all the good it does me to try and come up with a defense, I almost might just as well place 1* Wrys on an open field and call it a day.

To be frank, I really don't feel like rolling for merges of units I don't care about when I have a hard enough time to get merges and fodder for my favorites as it is. I don't care to win a golden throne if it means my favorites have to be left in the dust entirely.
You should use some save tank to take off the heat your flier/cav nukes.
You should do away with the catapult. That thing is way too inconsistent and you might not even want to destroy your opponent's buildings when you're aiming to have his team within nuke range on turn 1.
You probably should change your layout. At a glance the right flank seems very vulnerable. Once the throne is destroyed the road is clear to take out Ivy and canto away back to safety.
But yeah, none of this matters if the opponent sends out Ike, because he'll just EP your whole team there no problem.
That's just down to how small the active playerbase has become. I'm eagerly waiting to see how much of a drop Ike has caused. We're not at the bottom yet.

I was planning on Forma souling Sothis, Edelgard, and Bernadetta but Edelgard fell through. I just couldn't get atk/spd wild, weaving fighter, or armored blaze to appear. I hated that while playing on the hardest difficulty I kept getting the blazing AoE specials and for A slots I only got the stance skills to appear.

I gotta disagree with that, Dimitri brought Vantage back into play by being a great Vantage sweeper that can No Quarter everything to death, basically bringing his Battalion Vantage + Wrath combo from his original game into FEH
Of course, he did also provide the means for any other melee unit to DR pierce which was sorely needed, but I think the boar himself is a pretty good unit; heck, he can even bypass Scowl to an extent (his weapon provides up to 3 charges, No Quarter is 2, and Scowl only removes 1)
He's not infallible though, Hardy Bearing would undo his Vantage, Laguz Friend can't be pierced, and I'm sure stuff's only gonna get even stronger and more ridiculous from here
B8% banners are not worth rolling on if you don't have feh pass. literally not worth it. You could dump over 2k orbs and get everything but the thing you're trying to get. Only ever roll a B8% if you are willing to lock in the feh pass for one cycle. In fact I would say wait for multiple engages to drop and then time it when you can get two resplendents especially if someone you like get's announced. I am a brainlet but I know this in my soul of my hearts brain. i sparked ike and got like 4 crimean b***hes
It is unfortunate that happened to you Anon. I had to get the pass too because I got Embla and Elincia before the spark. I would counter though, B8% is fine only if you want multiple heroes off most of the colors. Wouldn't recommend them if you want only one hero out of the twelve since your likelihood is slim if you don't have the pass.

Res is currently very important, if you out res Lyon or sanaki their entire kits fall apart. The main problem with burn DMG is when it is combined with fatal smoke, with the fatal halving effect you still have a win condition in that scenario.
Here's what you need to know about Robin:
If she initiates, you die
If you try to fight her, you lose -5 to all stats and your Special gets decharged during combat

CYL happens in augst, you've got 4 months to save up, and you get about 350 orbs a month. So you should get about 1400 orbs by CYL. You will want about 1500 orbs by the time CYL rolls around if you want a solid chance at +10ing them.
If you want to plus 10 female Robin with the minimal number of orbs, you can do:
CYL free summon: pick CYL female Robin
CYL banner: spark Robin (+1)
December 2024 Legendary/Mythic/Engage banner: spark CYL Female Robin with feh pass (+2)
2025 L/M remix banner: spark her again (+3)
Golden Week with feh pass: spark again (+4)
If CYL wins the rerun vote: spark to +5
If CYL female Robin is in codes next year: +6
So you only need to roll four (or five if she isn't in codes next year) copies between 200 summons across five banners. You can probably skip spending money on feh pass sparks too if you summon many copies of her on the f2p spark banners. If you have feh pass now, you can spend 155 orbs and spark duo Robin and go back to saving.

Yes, it should halve it all as long as it's not something unpierceable like a defensive special. There's a lot more DR piercing stuff nowadays so it might be worth it as a trade off honestly.

And it's probably safe to assume that IS came up with her personal skill first (effect differs depending on whether she fights indoors or outdoors) and then figured out a way to let the gameplay be reflected in her story and character.

Well, you aren't filling out a pokedex. If you need the fodder to beef up your favorites, go for Dimitri. If you plan to actually regularly use Claude, go for him. If you just want Claude for the sake of having him and will drop him in a couple months once he's no longer able to kill anything with his base kit, then it sounds like a waste of a spark.

I wouldn't say Claude is that much weaker than Dimitri but he can struggle a bit more against Scowl effects than he can
No Quarter on the other hand is a damn near essential skill for melee units
If you have any such units that can easily activate or loop it, like Tempo or Special Spiral or whatever, then I'd go with that

I do bring her along for AR at least, but I've lost a few fights due to forgetting that other DV effects overwrite previous DV effects. I've had Corrin and Lumera move first and overwrite my Green with Stone and allow their team to warp in on me.
Problem is that widespread warp bubbles make warp effects instantaneously worthless. Charge being counted as a warp effect is especially asinine, cucking armors out of mobility they desperately need. If they gave out anti warp more freely, it would just start up another stupid arms race where then e.g. Assault Troop 4 would need to carry an anti anti warp effect in order to be not dead on arrival, and then the next generation of warp bubbles needs a counter to the counter, and so on and so forth. The DR vs DR piercing arms race is already bad enough as it is, do you really want another one?

Really want to give Hortensia Magic Shield+ for the self-dance (and duping it to my other healers), but her C skill already does half of what it does, so it feels like a waste, and I imagine we'll be getting more self-dance heals in the future that may work better with her C skill.

I wanted to get ONE Dimitri for No Quarter and not only were there plenty of sessions without a single green Orb, I got Alear twice (though her fodder is pretty good at least), and I had to spark to get Dimitri anyway, so it felt like a pretty meh banner
I like Claude, but a single Scowl effect, which are becoming more common, completely shuts him down

FEH pass also gives a lot for being subbed continually.

TA4 has the chance to save this game from powercreep, by just making the triangle advantage as busted as possible to bring back the weapon triangle.

So giga broken units that killl literally everything would stop being a thing, or at least not as annoying because there actually is a triangle advantage.

This is my Marianne. I've never gotten any pledge or flash sparrow fodder, so unfortunately I have to run flashing blade to get the most out of her. Her gimmick is really fun but requires a lot of planning ahead to get the most of it. The most important thing to keep in mind is that her Requiem Dance works on other dancers as well also, resplendent never ever

They should really revamp DF at this point, because with how minmaxed newer units are, +1 to all stats every year isn't going to do much. What they should do is add DF archetypes like some other mobages do. Like if you choose an offensive archetype you get +1 hp +2 atk and +2 speed every DF flower cycle. On top if that, once you reach a high enough total amount of DFs (like 30) you get a skill added depending on the archetype, like damage based on a stat % or DR
Sadly, IS doesn't seem to care about DFs, so we'll just get the annual cap increase
Stats are still nice for some older minmaxed units to catch up to the new ones for relevant spd and res checks, and by adding skill effects to high DF totals (aka older units), you can also make up for the fact that older prfs have less effects than the newer ones

I have a Yunaka to kill. I want to give my Summer Linde Attuned Nino's echo skill and some other stuff. Linde doesn't have Flared Sparrow and neither Linde nor Nino have Assassin's Strike.
Should I give Yunaka to Linde to get both Sparrow/Strike and get Assassin's Strike on Nino another time (I have no other daggers in mind to dupe AS to) or should I give Yunaka to Nino to give both Nino and Linde Assassin's Strike and get Flared Sparrow on Linde another time?

Be careful what you wish for, stupid frog. Any gacha with PvP is bound to degenerate into irredeemable p2w garbage faster than you can blink. Feh is reasonably good for what it is, but it hurts to think how much better it could be if the whole p2w trend had never taken off.
Early Feh didn't hinge on being p2w though. And people considered the game so generous once upon a time that you sometimes hear that parroted still today despite the game having turned into a quite hostile place for casual f2p players.
At the end of the day, gachashit is just the trading card game equivalent of the digital age, except your collection has no resell value and cannot be traded either - and will someday be inevitably lost no matter what. You might argue that TCGs were the original p2w games and gacha are just picking up where they left off, but unfortunately gacha has put all the predatory business practices first invented by TCGs into overdrive. Despite TCGs having the higher barrier to entry as no f2p mode exists for them, they somehow ended up less expensive for people who wish to compete in them thanks to the second hand market.
But maybe you're right that Feh wouldn't exist any longer if p2w didn't take off. Maybe IS would've decided that keeping Feh up wasn't worth it, just like they decided keeping up their actual TCG wasn't worth it in our timeline. But it wouldn't have been much of a loss. The timeline where Feh dies but Cipher lives is probably a nicer place. The whole mobile market can crash and burn for all I care. I'm thoroughly disillusioned with it.

Not him, but even as a year 1 player who doesn't give a shit about +10ing for PvP rankings or actively chasing new powercreep, it's difficult to consider the game "generous" when you're constantly exposed to the newest shenanigans the game has to offer as it shows up pre-built in PvE these days. Even giving no shits about the meta, it's difficult to turn a blind eye to the newest player phase cavs blowing up tanks from just last year (or even this year) like tissue paper, or realizing that 95%+ of my fully invested roster do 0 damage on special proc to new Ike or the new drunk lady OC. Makes it very clear that the devs want you to be rolling constantly to even lay a finger on their increasingly silly releases.
I put up with it since I'm only here for my old faves and I have years of resources, but I can't imagine a new player with the Askrs and a couple of freebies + their one or two favorite lord having a good time in GHBs or VG/RD or rotating weeklies on FE4/5/16/17 weeks or even story mode on CYL or stronger enemy OC shapters.

His Emblem skill is good, but it has a few caveats
One, it is useless against melee units
Two, you need your Special to be ready to go if you want its damage reduction to soften the blow
That's the most reliable activation anyway, because the other condition is dependent on the enemy (whether their Special is also ready or activated during combat)
That said, he really doesn't have the best red colour share at the moment, because while Elincia is fine, Embla is..... eh

I feel Byleth is better since his counter attacks are far more threatening than Myrrh's. And in arena and other modes Duo button can come in clutch to counter BS. Overall Myrrh is perhaps bulkier but Byleth will rack up kills against enemies who over rely on their DR.
Go with Byleth, as the other anon mentioned Myrrh is kind of tankier overall (and protection against warping skills is nice) but Byleth can counterattack against more units and full DR pierce will beat the lame 50% DR pierce any day
Also, Byleth's Super Scowl can really shut off Specials, whereas Myrrh only gets one Scowl

Kvasir's DR is such a fricking b***h to deal with too, but again I got saved by Galeforce giving me 6 attacks a turn instead of 4.

I think it was made in response to either Rally traps or Cavlines, as maps like that severely limit your movement until you start breaking structures, so the fence is to help give you a turn to get everyone in order

+1 is all that matters since it removes the unit's bane stat
+10 changes their rarity border to be shiny so do it for your absolute favorites eventually

All DR piercing effects so far specifically negate DR from non-special skills, and emblem skills are like an addition to a unit's special, so Ike's emblem DR is unpierceable. The only DR special skill that can be disabled is Vital Astra, but only because it says so in its description.

you can always just take him on enemy phase if you want instead. if you have a character with a scowl effect, or slap Veyl on your team to deny great aether.
Why is Ike so slow? He's even slow in Smash, he's usually the fastest character in my Tellius playthroughs
It pretty much is because of Smash, they wanted to find some way to differentiate him from Marth so they just slowed him down
I don't like this trend of unpierceable DR, it makes units useless unless they use AoE or pre-combat damage. I hope we'll eventually get ways to pierce it (same with flat DR too).
It's an eternal game of powercreep ping pong where you either get to nuke everything and tank nothing or tank everything and nuke nothing. The ball's been in the nuke court for a couple months, now it's making it's way back to tanking, but don't you worry: Won't be long before IS tries to sell you another solution in the form of a nuke piercing "unpiercable" DR, and then afterwards sell you the solution to that, and so on and so forth, until EoS.

I did not build one of my favorite characters this whole time because her base art was that attrocious. Binding Worlds is not a solution. How about this, you cut the max flower count to 20, every 5 flowers is +3 to each stat for gen 1 - 2 units, players can also allocate these stats however they want too. So if your character doesn't need an increase to speed, you can move all those to their other stats however you like, do you want to meme arden to infinity? you can allocate all his new stats to HP.

Kinda, it's a skill that mainly benefits slower units with high Def or Res, but the way it's designed should allow even units without -1 Special to easily activate and loop GLR, if I understand it right
On top of that, such units will be able to pierce through regular DR, which only Severa really got to do before

I don't think so, because that would defeat the purpose of giving you such DR to begin with
Basically there's three types of DR (at least):
>1. % based DR that can be pierced, often built into B skills like the Dodge skills or Weaving Fighter
>2. % DR that cannot be pierced, often built into Specials (like Great Aether)
>3. Fixed/flat DR that also cannot be pierced, often mitigating the damage you take equal to 20% of a stat (like Laguz Friend or Brave Dimitri's weapon)
If you have the first kind of DR (like if it's built into your weapon or you have the Dodge status), then Laguz Friend will halve that amount in exchange for giving you all the other effects
Ike doesn't have that (he's got the latter two kinds of DR instead), so it's more of a draw back if you happen to use Laguz Friend on other units that have access to that first method of DR in other ways
I thought it was only special-based DR that couldn't be pierced. Stat-based DR has the same "reduce damage by X%" phrasing as normal DR like Dodge, just that X is calculated differently. Is that not the case?
Nah, the fixed DR has never been pierceable, and will always be able to mitigate some damage for you, just that the effect is much rarer
The regular DR that Dodge (and similar effects) provide rely on stat comparisons, comparing your Spd (or Res, in the case of Dragon Wall) to the opponent's
As opposed to fixed/flat DR which just checks for your respective stat and works off of that alone

I guess that’s true but I find it comical that I start using Gerik and Askr on as bonus team then Tina is released basically a month later and then I give Gerik more skills with damage reduction and here’s a skill that can negate all of it in some fashion literally two weeks later. Of course not everyone has Tina or making every unit they have use Laguz Friend but it’s the start of it sooner or later.
Wait Askr’s Damage reduction can’t be negated?! For so long I thought since it was in his weapon instead of a Special it was affected by stuff like Phys/Mag null-Follow up or Legendary Veronica’s Enclosure. So if that’s the case Askr and probably even his New Year’s alt can make use of Laguz Friend for 40% DR based on his defense. But would it be better than Counter Roar Or Special Spiral 4? Hell, I rely on stacking status buffs a lot, and one of my favourite units is Brave Chrom (who relies on this), so Tina would be very annoying to fight, but thankfully I haven't run into her too much (yet?)
Oh I know the song and dance. Have 4 to 5 months worth of player phase destroyer of worlds and whatever in between IS puts in and then the 6th month will have a tank that can survive those monstrosities but be too hard to beat for 99% of units then people complain about powercreep but on the off chance a banner has good but not overpowered units people will say the FEH is dead especially if the units aren’t from Awakening through Engage. It’s tiresome man.
I know both Askr’s, Gerik, and Mauvier can use or enable others to use Prime since all of them grant two different bonuses. However Gerik and Mauvier overlap since they both give Null Panic so keep that in mind if ever want to make a bonus team.
I have three units that might want it. Askr, NY Askr, Flame Tribe Mordecai. I bit the bullet and only got one Ike from the spark. So I’ll just have to wait because I’m trying to save for Askr for his rerun in May.

No, all DR neutralization skills only affect non-special skills that shave off a percentage of the damage that would be normally taken.
The damage reduced by Askr (and Laguz Friend) is independent from the amount of damage normally taken, which means it can't be pierced.

Depends on your orb stash and whether you have Feh pass for sparking. Emblem Ike is strictly better than anything you might get from AHR, but if you're f2p and have a limited amount of orbs to burn then rolling on AHR at least gives you a spark for whichever unit you want there. Those b8% banners come with a high risk that you'll walk away with nothing if you aren't willing to spend actual money or don't have hoarded lots of orbs in advance.
Emblem heroes are nice to at least have one copy of for their free effects, but it is annoying if you don't have the feh pass spark.
I summoned on ike's banner, i used about 250 orbs and got 3 embla's, so i am going to wait for the next couple of banners before maybe pulling more on this banner.

How do you player phase Emblem Ike? Even with Hardy Bearing it feels like you need to also have Scowl (which is an enemy phase effect) so you don't get smacked by Great Aether in retaliation
AoE Veyle with Hardy Bearing is pretty much the only unit that handles him normally.

The wording makes it confusing but defensive specials are separate from the 3+ cooldown restriction. I'm pretty sure Ice/Frostbite Mirror, Godlike Reflexes, and Negating Fang will all trigger with it regardless of their max cooldown. It at least works to autocharge the basic skills like Sacred Cowl.
I gave it to Attuned Caeda and passed it over to Asc Tiki along with engaging her to Ike experimenting a little in E!Ike's map to wall him. Thinking of trying Dragon's Stone+ with Laguz Friend, it seems like a fun combo. It's a shame the above thing about defensive specials wouldn't work with Dragon's Roar so it doesn't work with her prf weapon.

GLR should work just fine with it, and in fact, will precharge it in combat before the foe attacks (to make up for the fact that you're giving up Buffer 4)
Of course, you could still keep it looped with Time's Pulse 4 and Emblem Marth, and you should still be able to get the full benefits (with GLR to protect you, 20% of your Def or Res to also mitigate damage, and you get to pierce through regular DR upon retaliation)

I'm really surprised they didn't at least slap a +6 stat on the various movement skills just to push out high scoring variations. At this point they could even do it with other types of buffs as well.
IS might not want to create one because of just how good reposition is. The only time anyone ever seems to bring the stat buff skills is for Arena scoring, and making a reposition that ties with it score wise then makes every other skill obsolete. It's why the only upgraded reposition is a PRF skill.
Pretty much every Chrom has enhanced reposition and all of them are meta

He benefits from it a ton from what I've seen, but you'd probably want to build him with Glacies to meet the CD requirement with Ike engage and Atk/Res Ploy 4. He has the benefit of AoE damage reduction but loses out on the NCD effect Ike has in his weapon. If you put them together as a tank team they're especially strong.

Remakes are a weird state where it's almost pointless if the original is still good and accessible, but changing it too much means it really isn't the same game. I kind understand because FE4 was fun to play and seeing it get a glow-up like Gaiden did might be fun to see, but overall isn't necessary.
It might be faithful gameplay-wise if Echoes s anything to go by. apparently Echoes was faithful to a fault, but I've also ran into one of the few supposed Gaiden-gays and he LOATHED what IS did to the plot.

Emblem Ike is kinda bullshit but he plays almost exactly like how he did in Engage, so I can't be mad at him.

I gave him a Ploy 4, so he does get 10 extra damage through Exposure. And honestly, he's built pretty armor-like with his stat spread.

Seems like you need a unit with DR-piercing on normal attacks, Hardy Bearing Seal and some form of Miracle to kill Ike if he's blocking AoEs with Gotoh.
I'm already seeing Ikes with Fatal Smoke 4, so I wouldn't rely on miracle strats too much

Possibly because Miracle/healing is one of the better ways to wall him out, especially if you have scowl support to delay Great Aether. Without the ability to heal or avoid being oneshot, Ike will always outlast you.

cloaked Veyle, and the red alears could show up. Bad end Veyle is also possible. Alear is a shit candidate because they weren't really evil, and they never technically fell, but that wouldn't stop IS.
You also have Manleth, and the both Shez from 3hopes. Monster Dedue, I guess is also an option.
There are several OCs and npcs that could be on the list as well, but playable mainline characters are running "low". They could probably do the banner 2-3 more times with just Engage/3H and be fine.
I'm almost certain the Engage DLC was written for the express purpose of prolonging this particular banner's life

We went from having super player phase nuke after super player phase nuke with tons of DR piercing and stripping you of over half your HP just because you blinked, to a unit that just gets even BETTER damage reduction and can also still pierce through regular DR without a problem.
I genuinely do not know how to player phase Ike and I fear we'll get more of these unkillable tanks. Or maybe it'll swing back the other way and we'll get super Gullveig or something.
Only way I can even defeat an enemy Ike right now is with my Ike with a RS Maria behind him. They are going to have to make a unit that says “if this unit initiates combat it wins.” Or something.

Laguz friend is such a a busted skill. I was using a friend's unit in VG and they were a red unit and ate two consecutive W! Edelgard specials and killed her on retaliation when they were supposed to be dealing 0 damage to her from retaliation. I fear running into that skill in arena now.

Well, i managed it with 3 Ikes along the way. Sanaki, Citrinne and Hortensia with Triangle Attack handled them.
I'm back in VoH again this season, but between now and 1½ weeks ago, my situation has only detoriated. I did get my first silver throne (pictured), but I'm also more certain than ever that it represents the limit of what I can achieve without opening my wallet. My slapdash cav line imitation, largely built from the most loathsome powercreepers at my disposal, now gets effortlessly solo'd by Emblem Ike. For all the good it does me to try and come up with a defense, I almost might just as well place 1* Wrys on an open field and call it a day.
To be frank, I really don't feel like rolling for merges of units I don't care about when I have a hard enough time to get merges and fodder for my favorites as it is. I don't care to win a golden throne if it means my favorites have to be left in the dust entirely.
You should use some save tank to take off the heat your flier/cav nukes.
You should do away with the catapult. That thing is way too inconsistent and you might not even want to destroy your opponent's buildings when you're aiming to have his team within nuke range on turn 1.
You probably should change your layout. At a glance the right flank seems very vulnerable. Once the throne is destroyed the road is clear to take out Ivy and canto away back to safety.
But yeah, none of this matters if the opponent sends out Ike, because he'll just EP your whole team there no problem.
I just got the same team twice in 1 AA run. Never had that happen before.
That's just down to how small the active playerbase has become. I'm eagerly waiting to see how much of a drop Ike has caused. We're not at the bottom yet.

I was planning on Forma souling Sothis, Edelgard, and Bernadetta but Edelgard fell through. I just couldn't get atk/spd wild, weaving fighter, or armored blaze to appear. I hated that while playing on the hardest difficulty I kept getting the blazing AoE specials and for A slots I only got the stance skills to appear.
Picking up Sothis. I probably won't give her flowers, but she'll be useful for limited 3H maps.
Sadly I think any modern 3H unit outperforms her even with a completed kit.

both are common techniques with illustrators who paint rather than use flat colors. the colors become cohesive since they're used in small or large spaces across the illustration as a whole. and when your painting style more gestural, it often makes more sense to paint your line art more than being precise with it.

magic gambit seems not great to be honest. The vast, vast majority of magic units need their b skill to get DR piercing, and frankly don't particularly care about getting more DR themselves, and the bonus damage you are getting just doesn't matter that much on a unit type where brave weapons are much more rare.

I gotta disagree with that, Dimitri brought Vantage back into play by being a great Vantage sweeper that can No Quarter everything to death, basically bringing his Battalion Vantage + Wrath combo from his original game into FEH
Of course, he did also provide the means for any other melee unit to DR pierce which was sorely needed, but I think the boar himself is a pretty good unit; heck, he can even bypass Scowl to an extent (his weapon provides up to 3 charges, No Quarter is 2, and Scowl only removes 1)
He's not infallible though, Hardy Bearing would undo his Vantage, Laguz Friend can't be pierced, and I'm sure stuff's only gonna get even stronger and more ridiculous from here
B8% banners are not worth rolling on if you don't have feh pass. literally not worth it. You could dump over 2k orbs and get everything but the thing you're trying to get. Only ever roll a B8% if you are willing to lock in the feh pass for one cycle. In fact I would say wait for multiple engages to drop and then time it when you can get two resplendents especially if someone you like get's announced. I am a brainlet but I know this in my soul of my hearts brain. i sparked ike and got like 4 crimean b***hes
It is unfortunate that happened to you Anon. I had to get the pass too because I got Embla and Elincia before the spark. I would counter though, B8% is fine only if you want multiple heroes off most of the colors. Wouldn't recommend them if you want only one hero out of the twelve since your likelihood is slim if you don't have the pass.

Res is currently very important, if you out res Lyon or sanaki their entire kits fall apart. The main problem with burn DMG is when it is combined with fatal smoke, with the fatal halving effect you still have a win condition in that scenario.

CYL happens in augst, you've got 4 months to save up, and you get about 350 orbs a month. So you should get about 1400 orbs by CYL. You will want about 1500 orbs by the time CYL rolls around if you want a solid chance at +10ing them.

CYL free summon: pick CYL female Robin
CYL banner: spark Robin (+1)
December 2024 Legendary/Mythic/Engage banner: spark CYL Female Robin with feh pass (+2)
2025 L/M remix banner: spark her again (+3)
Golden Week with feh pass: spark again (+4)
If CYL wins the rerun vote: spark to +5
If CYL female Robin is in codes next year: +6
So you only need to roll four (or five if she isn't in codes next year) copies between 200 summons across five banners. You can probably skip spending money on feh pass sparks too if you summon many copies of her on the f2p spark banners. If you have feh pass now, you can spend 155 orbs and spark duo Robin and go back to saving.

Yes, it should halve it all as long as it's not something unpierceable like a defensive special. There's a lot more DR piercing stuff nowadays so it might be worth it as a trade off honestly.

Well, you aren't filling out a pokedex. If you need the fodder to beef up your favorites, go for Dimitri. If you plan to actually regularly use Claude, go for him. If you just want Claude for the sake of having him and will drop him in a couple months once he's no longer able to kill anything with his base kit, then it sounds like a waste of a spark.

I do bring her along for AR at least, but I've lost a few fights due to forgetting that other DV effects overwrite previous DV effects. I've had Corrin and Lumera move first and overwrite my Green with Stone and allow their team to warp in on me.

Problem is that widespread warp bubbles make warp effects instantaneously worthless. Charge being counted as a warp effect is especially asinine, cucking armors out of mobility they desperately need. If they gave out anti warp more freely, it would just start up another stupid arms race where then e.g. Assault Troop 4 would need to carry an anti anti warp effect in order to be not dead on arrival, and then the next generation of warp bubbles needs a counter to the counter, and so on and so forth. The DR vs DR piercing arms race is already bad enough as it is, do you really want another one?
Pass already counters warp bubble it just has a high opportunity cost.

This is my Marianne. I've never gotten any pledge or flash sparrow fodder, so unfortunately I have to run flashing blade to get the most out of her. Her gimmick is really fun but requires a lot of planning ahead to get the most of it. The most important thing to keep in mind is that her Requiem Dance works on other dancers as well also, resplendent never ever

They should really revamp DF at this point, because with how minmaxed newer units are, +1 to all stats every year isn't going to do much. What they should do is add DF archetypes like some other mobages do. Like if you choose an offensive archetype you get +1 hp +2 atk and +2 speed every DF flower cycle. On top if that, once you reach a high enough total amount of DFs (like 30) you get a skill added depending on the archetype, like damage based on a stat % or DR
Sadly, IS doesn't seem to care about DFs, so we'll just get the annual cap increase

Stats are still nice for some older minmaxed units to catch up to the new ones for relevant spd and res checks, and by adding skill effects to high DF totals (aka older units), you can also make up for the fact that older prfs have less effects than the newer ones

Be careful what you wish for, stupid frog. Any gacha with PvP is bound to degenerate into irredeemable p2w garbage faster than you can blink. Feh is reasonably good for what it is, but it hurts to think how much better it could be if the whole p2w trend had never taken off.
if the p2w trend never took off then FEH likely wouldn't exist along with many other games or mobile gacha in general.
Early Feh didn't hinge on being p2w though. And people considered the game so generous once upon a time that you sometimes hear that parroted still today despite the game having turned into a quite hostile place for casual f2p players.
At the end of the day, gachashit is just the trading card game equivalent of the digital age, except your collection has no resell value and cannot be traded either - and will someday be inevitably lost no matter what. You might argue that TCGs were the original p2w games and gacha are just picking up where they left off, but unfortunately gacha has put all the predatory business practices first invented by TCGs into overdrive. Despite TCGs having the higher barrier to entry as no f2p mode exists for them, they somehow ended up less expensive for people who wish to compete in them thanks to the second hand market.
But maybe you're right that Feh wouldn't exist any longer if p2w didn't take off. Not him, but even as a year 1 player who doesn't give a shit about +10ing for PvP rankings or actively chasing new powercreep, it's difficult to consider the game "generous" when you're constantly exposed to the newest shenanigans the game has to offer as it shows up pre-built in PvE these days. Even giving no shits about the meta, it's difficult to turn a blind eye to the newest player phase cavs blowing up tanks from just last year (or even this year) like tissue paper, or realizing that 95%+ of my fully invested roster do 0 damage on special proc to new Ike or the new drunk lady OC. Makes it very clear that the devs want you to be rolling constantly to even lay a finger on their increasingly silly releases.
I put up with it since I'm only here for my old faves and I have years of resources, but I can't imagine a new player with the Askrs and a couple of freebies + their one or two favorite lord having a good time in GHBs or VG/RD or rotating weeklies on FE4/5/16/17 weeks or even story mode on CYL or stronger enemy OC shapters.

His Emblem skill is good, but it has a few caveats
One, it is useless against melee units
Two, you need your Special to be ready to go if you want its damage reduction to soften the blow
That's the most reliable activation anyway, because the other condition is dependent on the enemy (whether their Special is also ready or activated during combat)
That said, he really doesn't have the best red colour share at the moment, because while Elincia is fine, Embla is..... eh

I feel Byleth is better since his counter attacks are far more threatening than Myrrh's. And in arena and other modes Duo button can come in clutch to counter BS. Overall Myrrh is perhaps bulkier but Byleth will rack up kills against enemies who over rely on their DR.
Go with Byleth, as the other anon mentioned Myrrh is kind of tankier overall (and protection against warping skills is nice) but Byleth can counterattack against more units and full DR pierce will beat the lame 50% DR pierce any day
Also, Byleth's Super Scowl can really shut off Specials, whereas Myrrh only gets one Scowl

Fatal Smoke is probably his best option, to bypass Miracle and foes healing
However, Atk Smoke will also do just fine and is much easier to acquire, debuffing oncoming foes after tanking a hit from one

A Fate Changed/Future Sight/Galeforce/Canto shenanigans really were a lifesaver in this one. I forgot to make a screenshot of my actual clear, but I remember that I took Gully out on turn 2 and then got the hell out of Kvasir range. Must've looked something like this.
Kvasir's DR is such a fricking b***h to deal with too, but again I got saved by Galeforce giving me 6 attacks a turn instead of 4.

+10 changes their rarity border to be shiny so do it for your absolute favorites eventually
