I liked book 4 best. I liked the character design and most of the characters involved. My only gripe is they couldn't make Sharena important for at least one story line and quickly shelve the switched at birth plot point making feel unnecessary that they even added it.

Favorite completed book is 4. The fairies felt a bit more fleshed out with their origins compared to many other OCs, and plot was a bit more unique with freyja's motives and how it was resolved.
Book 7 might tie it, or beat it depending how it ends. It seems like they are going with a generic " complete ritual, shoot bad guy" end, and that sucks.
I woke up at 3 AM, free rolled Elincia, and went back to sleep. It was sweet. I don't like any book in particular but I love Surtr, so book 2

It gets old when you can guess who is next through process of elimination. It's also tiring when a unit with 4+ alts gets a new one and they are basically the same as other versions of themselves. Like Lilina ever since her Valentines Alt she's been a ranged Calvary unit with high Atk and Res with AOE spam now. Ephraim being an Axe or Lance unit while being armored or Calvary. Claude and Camilla being ranged Flying units 24/7. This is supposed to be a game where we get units from many different worlds so make Lilina have Armads, Let Ephraim somehow use magic, let Claude and Camilla touch the ground. Change it up IS that's all I ask and maybe that can happen but its a small hope that will probably get crushed.
Late January, August, and September are the odd wild card months. I do agree that it's kinda lame that they have to (or feel like they have to) follow patterns this rigidly, because now it means like, oh, it's Halloween again, okay time for more dragons. There's only so many.
Like one year we had mad scientist Lady L'el, that was fun. Hopefully this year we'll get at least something different.

Aside from Ninjas, the character choices have been all characters from the same class/archetype each year.
2020 was Myrmidons with Lyn, Navarre, Hana, Zihark and Laevataen (not technically a myrm but she is an infantry sword so that might be what they were going for)
2021 was Archers/Snipers with Shamir, Shinon and Igrene (the Corrins being outliers)
2022 was Wyvern riders (the banner actually being called Wyvern Ninja in English) with Laegjarn, Heath, Cherche, Camilla and Haar.
Other banners also sometimes have recurring "quotas" like with Christmas consistently having at least one e-girl character every year (Lissa, Fae, Nino/Sothis, Bernadetta/Sanaki, Lysithea/Lute and Annette). There's probably more (Spring seems to always have flatties and booba) but you usually have to squint to see it.

When FEH barely does 20k a month
I mean why would they realistically stop at all? It is considered a mainline series game, doubles as advertising/hold over to the next games, brings them plenty of profit, and doesn't take much effort to make. The only way I see the game dying at all is that the game is hemorrhaging more money than they are receiving back from players. That or powercreep becomes so bad that a majority of players outright refuse to continue playing and they close servers as a result. So I'd give it at least another 5 years for certain we will have. Depending on those years another assessment could be made with new information.
Why would they end it? They said when they killed Cipher that FEH was their way to keep making Fire Emblem in between mainline games, AND it's profitable. FEH could realistically go on forever.
This game is run on a shoestring budget and they have basically infinite options to shit out.
The game barely has a budget with how minimalistic and cheap everything is. The numbers have to be disastrous for this game to EoS.
Mario Kart Tour getting axed was the first time I was genuinely concerned about FEH EoS. This isn't like Dragalia anymore when it was "whatever, FEH earns more in a month than that game did in a year", Nintendo was fine with killing it even though it was still bringing in over 1.5 million per month, and FEH revenue at this point is only what, 2-3 times more than that?
It's still probably fine for another year or two barring an SD tier disaster, but it does feel like Nintendo's venture into mobile games is nearing its end.

Nintendo has always done mobile games weirdly (Dragalia aside because that was all DeNA), where they don't outright make a unique "mobile game team" they just put their normal development teams on the mobile game project and then once they've put out the game proper, they take some of that team back and have the remainder stay on content creation for the mobile game (this is how Dr. Mario, Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem and Mario Run all worked). Mario Kart Tour was unique among all of these in that it kept a normal size development team to continue adapting tracks for both Tour and to add as DLC to MK8 Deluxe, and that team is now working on something else, if I had to guess, MK9/10 (depending on whether Tour counts as 9 or not).

They might just give it a subtitle based on whatever gimmick they introduce to avoid this confusion.
MKT would cut into sales for when Nintendo is looking to make the next MK. Tons of kids and smart people would stick to the free game they can play on any mobile device, as opposed of going out to buy a Switch/Switch2.0 along with a new MK. Take away MKT so that no one gets their dose of MK, and sell them a new one when they get desperate for some.
FEH wouldn't do that, and its used to promote the next FE title, while still being able to sell its own OC stuff. If sales numbers actually take a deep drop to where "whats the point of hiring artist and VAs to do new units if we barely get any sizable returns?", then that would be an actual problem. FE is still niche as frick anyway, FEH is literally the most money they've ever seen for this IP.
Compared to gacha games that have been long running (grand blue fantasy, fgo, idk any other ones) I wonder how long feh can have. I just don’t wanna get too wienery and assume forever or 10+ years without some serious proof I guess.

Eh, I only really use her to keep Vantage units from being 1-shot so they can start actually Vantaging things. As an offensive unit herself, I've personally given up on slow units that depend on foes not having NFU for their guaranteed follow-up effects to activate to be able to get kills.

All long running gachas are scary to newcomers, but once you play long enough, you'll develop a third eye that allows you to just skim through the text. Nowadays, I just look for Guard, Brave or movement warp effects, the rest is usually the same.
Yeah, for example if you see "Rokkr", you can ignore that entire section knowing it's just going to be Dodge.
I thought the same a few months ago when I re-downloaded it, but despite the wall of text it's not hard to understand. What can be hard is dealing with some of these effects.

Don't know if they still play FEH (probably not) but they got really into Xenoblade 3 and Elden Ring.
Almost as bad as T5 skills if it ends up becoming true, but I'm assuming if we do get another skill slot, it'll be something more unique like seals rather than inheritable skills like ABC.
With the "new unit type" being suspected earlier, I could see it being something like Ascendeds where instead of granting a Floret, rolling this new unit type grants you a "Seal" that fits in the D slot.
We already have T5 skills, they're just T4 skills that don't require the old T4.

I hardly ever see him, but if I were to guess, it's because he was the latest freebie ranged armor with a good statline for Savvy Fighter 4 and Far Save, Bruno, who came after, was pretty bad because of his mage BST, both frail and not fast enough.

We just got a Even Tempest seal which combos nicely with his default Odd Tempest, so I think they might replace his A-Skill. I just hope it's not something generic like Atk/Spd Ideal 4, would be okay, sure, but I expect something better.

The dumb thing is that they could've very easily made it dual phase. It already has a Spd check! Just make it

I honestly hate that savvy fighter is a dead skill on player phase since it is a speedy armors only way of Null Follow-up through armor skills. It is especially stupid too since a speedy unit would also like to attack and not only defend but I guess IS wants to keep Edelgard unique for being the only viable player phase armor unit. Well since my speedy units are armored dragons I at least got counter roar to fall back on but sucks to lose out on the NFU.

Which is extra dumb, because adding the Spd check means that Edelgard (who has never been fast, ever) can never take advantage of that anyway.
Well, Marnie is very likely to have a prf since the age of prflet GHBs (armors included) seems to be behind us, so she'll have a niche of her own and won't interfere with your Amelia.

Looking at Zephia, for example, she was fairly tanky in Engage but became a speedy frail attacker in FEH. She almost always had Thoron to hit 3 spaces away, and they kiiinda translated that by giving her NFU + Windsweep in her default B slot.

God same. Like 70% of my units that do have flowers aren't up to date yet. Using 600 for every +5 is getting worse the older the unit is. Thank god for binding worlds, at least my formas get a chance at full flowers

Run him with Fallen F!Byleth and you get enough sustain to heal back most of if not all damage after DR from her special and from her prf's and gatekeeper's refine heal. The two together also negate teleporting shenanigans and back row rushes with their obstruct abilities. Truly a unit that seems to be written off as mediocre or niche but provides tons of support.

There are tons of cool characters with interesting kits and synergies in thr game, but the problem is that there is simply no content for it. The competitive modes are way too, well, competitive to play around with cute synergies when you could just use bridal catria or the newest legendary, mythic or duo.
Yeah, you can use them to auto battle thr monthly tt quests or tempest trials but does it really matter what units you use there?

I think he might be best at AR-D because you can stack Gatekeepers. And from what I heard from sources (fehtubers) people are using Pass specifically to counter Gatekeeper, so he's not some underused shitter.
Oh, so that's why I saw a unit in AR recently using Pass in a nonsensical manner.
Pass in AR-D is not that uncommon actually, even before GK's refine.
With so many End Turn teams running around, you can easily swooze in between their formation and ruin their perfect run.
When you start seeing Pass in SD though? That's GK's fault.
F!F!Byleth is up there as one of the best godswords to use in the game currently. Of course the alternatives are Lucia and S!Fjorm but they are each interchangeable depending on the situation.
Gatekeeper on the other hand is great in all the pvp modes save for the ones that require scoring such as Arena. He is integral to stopping the opponent from using Warp skills like guidance 4 a game breaking ability if your opponent doesn't have an answer and even stopping poorly optimized Catria balls preventing them from warping in their back row nukes for an easy quad. (Also L!Myrrh does the same but is locked to seasons if the player even cares about that)

The game was stingy at giving me green orbs that my first 4 circles were duds for having only blue and colorless orbs appearing. And after that every circle had usually 1 green orb at most. Well I consider myself lucky it didn't take the spark as usual to receive an on banner unit.

Timerra has a shit ton of fodder to pass if you are into building godswords/lances/axes. I don't remember anyone else's fodder.

I'm considering Timerra just because she seems like she'd be nice to have as a neutral +0, the fodder doesn't really matter because I've got a Ganglöt with VA + Spurn 4 + TP4 to inherit to anyone I want to give it to. BD4 is great, yes. You can't even Lull your target's blue buffs away to negate BD4 because BD4 also takes into consideration allies' blue buffs as well. The only A skill that contends with it is Finish if you want the extra healing.

FEH could last a long time, but it's death will likely just be from IS mismanagement causing lost interest over time.
It's designed to work on a shoe string budget so if IS banked enough of the billion+ profit it has made then it could last for a LONG time. If they wanted a good time to close it preemptively then next year wouldn't be awful as it should be the final book/fight against Alfador that FEH has been building up to for years.

Spd for obvious reasons, Def to meet her weapon's Def check and her built in Sandstorm (the Def based true damage)
anything that gives spd will work well with her B and special, and atk is always good. solo condition is not really all that great nowadays though, but it's a lot easier to make it work than the primary alternative
though she does want def to make her tankier, she'd need visible def for it to matter for the def check. sandstorm would work with invisible buffs, but the def check tied to the pulse tie effect needs visible def

Sure, but there's only 4 other units that have higher base def than her (Gilliam, Spring Michalis, Young Hector, and I forget the last one) and she's one of only +46 base Def unit with a superboon along with Arion. As long as she's +Def and at similar merge levels, she's only going to be missing the proc against +Def Gilliam and the other guy.

I'm new, are there any current banner units that are worth summoning for? This is my current team. I have an armored march seal on Corrin to help with movement.
What you've got there is gonna be able to clear a lot of content on its own, but you might want some more mobile and offensive stuff. Consider sniping red on the legendary elincia banner, otherwise maybe the halloween banner if anything there appeals to you.
I got fallen Chrom with a free single and I was interested in either Anna or Flayn from the Halloween banner. Mostly looking for an easy auto team.
Anna or Timerra would be good for autoing since they're both quite strong
Anna's got a weakness to bows, but otherwise has basically a ton of different effects under the sun, and takes 50% less damage from everything
Timerra can potentially have more damage reduction, and she also hits way harder, while also being able to protect your team from enemy Specials
Can't go wrong with either one, although if you had to choose, Anna has a special ability that works with anyone who originates from the same games as either of them (and Chrom is one, because he's also from Awakening like the older Anna)
The only problem I have with those units is that they might slow down the pace of the game because they don't have distant counter. I have a distant counter dragons seal on Grima Robin and Corrin has it built in.
Anna can actually get Distant Counter herself actually
Her skill Atk/Spd Prime 4 gives her that effect if she has four status effects, and she already comes with three (two from her weapon, one from her C skill, which also helps out Grima and Corrin)
To get a fourth, you can either use her special ability (which provides her with two more, along with extra stats and healing), or you can get Peony (a free unit, can refresh to make your units move again, provides another status or two that way)
Oh, I missed that when looking through her skills. I really like both Awakening and Engage Anna so I have a bias towards that unit already. Probably should just pull, I have a shit ton of orbs anyways.

She's very cute, but her actual weapon is ASS nowadays. I should probably get her an improved DC variant now that I'm looking at her, too.
It was decent back then but at least she'll be up for a refine eventually.
I doubt the refine is going to fix her primary issue, i.e. the lack or a player phase (while also being a Harmonic). She has Dragon's Ire 3 in her base kit, so they probably aren't going to give her an autodouble, so your only hopes are to either give her Arcane Grima, or give her Ire 4.
We'll find out as soon as the next FEH Channel hits.
Refine or not her speed is far too abysmal to even be considered good with everyone getting Null Follow-up and nukes will delete her due to skills like Ruptured Sky, the new null follow-up skills , and special spiral 4. So unless they really buff slow units that nullify some of these issues I don't see her being usable anymore once her refine comes around.
It's too bad fliers can't learn SS4. I've actually been thinking of using that over a Fighter skill for my slow armors so they can at least win some match-ups instead of none due to the mix of DR/NFU that's on everything now.

Canto I feel is only a big deal when the effect is large, like Tea Ayra, Yuri, and Trickster Nina.
DR is countered by numerous sources of DR-piercing effects now.
So I guess Saves imo.
DR followed by Canto. DR is the most influential change in the game for when they started to roll them out they outright made armored units obsolete for quite some time. Canto on the other hand made most game modes ridiculously easy allowing you to forgo the action of repositioning and wasting a turn to now be able to hit and run out of the way or block units in after performing an action.
DR because everyone has it, but saves can make the game a real big pain if you are new.
DR for PvP and canto for PvE
the proliferation of dr is pretty funny. even ranged nukes like fevail have it now. armors and cavs have it, thanks to gambit. lalear can give it to anyone.

hey guys noob here i've been following game8's build guides as a reference for my builds is that bad or no...
Don't bother trying to build units if you're new, it's a waste of orbs. Just roll for whatever fancy new unit has the longest skill descriptions and you'll be fine.
I feel it's a bit risky to spend a couple hundred orbs rolling for skills that may or may not actually be the ideal skills to go with just because a wiki said so. I'd wait until you get more accustomed to the game's mechanics and meta to learn when and why certain skills are optimal before building older units. I specify older since most modern units already come with their ideal skill sets and don't really require changing up their skills.
If there's an old, outdated unit you *really* like and want to build up, I'd say asking in a place with 80ish people to get feedback from would be better than following a build made by 1 person you can't quickly communicate with to get clarification on things you may question.
Go to Summoner Duels and look at the top builds there and pick the one you think would suit your unit most and adjust it to your taste
Sometimes budget builds work fine too, especially if you're new and don't really have a decent supply of premium fodders

Unironically with how strong units are now, taking on those 99 HP units with super stats would be a breeze
Only if the enemies appearing in it were the same book 1-2 units as before. 10 modern units walking around with 99 HP and 50-70 in every other stat with their Prfs and exclusive skills would still be a nightmare especially when you have to swap out your team every 2 turns or whatever it was.
I'd still find it fun because PvE is too fricking easy these days. Hardest PvE content in the past few years was the Engage LHB vs Fomortiis/Gotoh, but only if you didn't have LAlear.

SoV limited hero battles are always a pain for me to complete for my lackluster units due to me not pouring any investment really past their base kit. My team is almost always Fallen doot, Bridal Catria, and either brave alm or brave Celica depending on the bulkiness of units.
SoV limited shit is suffering for everybody tbh. As it turns out there just aren't many SoV units, and frankly most of the ones that exist are pretty mediocre.
Doesn't help that their last banner was kinda shit *and* over a year ago. Nerþuz is a good half a year newer than the newest SoV unit (Duo Duma), and before that was ACelica, Est, two demotes, and BRIGAND BOSS.
If it weren't for HCatria and my Sonia being moronicly invested in thanks to the HoF rerun, I don't think I would've been able to do this shit.
I've only got Valentia Palla, Bridal Catria, dancer Berkut, Legendary and Brave Alm, and Legendary and Ascended Celica, that's it

Luthier has okay stats but we still don't have a green Arcane tome, and Kamui makes a decent enough memedon if you really want to dump all the required fodder into him, but that homie is already at +15 Dragonflowers because he's just over a year old, and because they've gone so long without a banner (the only games that have currently gone longer are Thracia and Blazing Sword) they're probably gonna get another one soon, which is very likely to have Deen or Jesse as a 5* unit who would outshine this full investment homie at base with no SI required.

the [Canto] in her B slot is likely only given to her, since it's an offshoot of Firestorm Dance and that's how that works. I highly doubt that she actually gives the unit she's dancing Canto.

Aside from Alfred, Tana, Ingrid and Alcryst, the closest thing Rearmed Heroes have in common are characters that have fallen to the dark side (Lif, epik Robin, epik Chrom and Ophelia), so it kinda makes sense. Doesn't change the fact that it's definitely because of dev bias though.
Ascended Heroes are the ones that have some sort of arc, but even those are mostly there because of dev bias too

It depends on if you're gonna nuke more than one thing per turn. If yes, then Special Spiral will be helpful for that, but you'd lose out on Canto. If not, then you can just wait a turn, it'll be ready, she destroys something, Cantos back a space, and then the next turn it'll be ready again.

Arcane tomes are in kind of a weird spot honestly. They are generically good, but tomes kind of need something better than generically good, because their skill draw is generally worse than non-magic units. Like you get slaying, that's cool and all, what are you gonna do with it? Flare is frankly mediocre, it isn't enough to auto-charge a AoE skill. Ruptured sky? I guess, but then you are missing out on value from your +special per attack. You get some stats, but so does everybody, who cares. Guaranteed followup is only tangentially relevant, as magic units tend to fall into the category of fast so they are gonna double anyways, or really slow and with good res I guess but not actually enough to survive attacks from those they initiate on if they are getting counter attacked.
I have some green tome units and I am sincerely just using teatime ferdinand's weapon on them instead of this, because at least it has a specific niche that is pretty good.

On one hand, it's nice IS is having these extra stat boosting things, and catch up mechanics to help out older units, but it almost feels like another thing your units need in order to function. The florets weren't that powerful, Arcane weapons were insane, but you could get by without them, but stuff like oath warping on a new skill feels super powerful. perhaps it doesn't matter as I'm not a pvp whale, but still.

If I free summon it somehow I'd guess I'd give it to my Solon or Nino because otherwise I have no one else who'd want it that I've built up in my Barracks.
My VAlfonse has Crafty fighter, but giving him Arcane green tome is semi-redundant because the weapon gives auto follow ups. Not too sure what B skill I should give in place of Crafty fighter besides Guard 4.
Special fighter 4 is redundant with the blade effect, but it still has guard, anti-healblock, and some healing on a special.

I've seen it on BK, with his Black Luna procs it is hella scary for if you miss the kill he is almost guaranteed to kill your unit on retaliation even with a color advantage against him.

I noticed that for sure but also I think she has the highest attack of any of my units with 72 and that is with minimal investment. Her dance giving armor units 3 movement is also wild.

That aside, she's really good for AR for her special dance that grants Charge, allowing you to throw your omnitank with ease into the enemy lines, especially if they're armored units, good for all PvE modes as all dancers are, not the best in SD since every movement counts there and having a unit go on standby, get danced, and then act again with the buffs from the dance, takes 3 actions.
What are some good omnitanks? I never really bothered with AR meta and was content to just climb two or three tiers once I hit the bit where you go back down to the same starting point each week.
Brave fcorrin is a pretty good omnitank, despite being somewhat specced into being a far save tank.
Ninja camilla is basically only killable if you can disrupt her vantage
Godswords are generally good omnitanks
Basically every unit that has butt loads of damage reduction and either high spd or high def & res. Some good recent examples are brave corrin, halloween timerra, lucia, diamant and summer fjorm
Fallen Byleth is pretty good, as long as you make sure she's the fastest thing around, and that she has some form of Null Follow-Up (like through the status, or the Seal)
Summer fjorm has been pretty good as an omni tank in my experience

The -1 CD is nice (Luna spam), but his refine gives him +8 atk/spd (if unit and enemy have high hp and Lewyn initiates combat, that is), and removes enemy buffs and unit penalties...
If you feel like your Lewyn's speed is still reliable, stick with his Prf, possibly with mag NFU in the B slot.
Otherwise, arcane special spam with special spiral 4 is the way to go.

I honesty hate L!Eleincia now. Her and her warp shenanigans are too much to handle. She caused me to restart my arena run 8 times after I reach my last match-up and then I proceed to get a three lose streak caused by her warping a unit to a space I couldn't predict. This is exacerbated when she is slotted with the Chroms or Yuris who can reposition a unit or Elincia allowing them to be within her warp range teleporting them into a position to attack my back row.

Is FEH the only gacha where you are forced to roll for units you don't want, with the risk of you losing the pity? Can't cancel the session, or have a way to reroll colors either.
They kind of have to give you something or else I think it'd break gambling laws or something. Especially since some people paid for their orbs. At least in FEH you know for a fact a specific unit will not be in your circle based off color alone. In a normal gacha you'd be handed a unit and no take backs. Overall FEH is better on the point of narrowing down your pulls which actually increases your chances theoretically assuming the color(s) you want appear in the first place.

I've won all but two of my AR-D matches. One didn't count due to lift lost control and even if it did I eliminated 4 of 6 of their heroes which wouldn't have netted me a loss. I'm glad I got the full infantry DF due to to not taking more than -80 lift

I thought 380 per win was good because each one was getting me a rank up, but in actuality I was still in the top 16000s, and hardly going anywhere.
probably also need a flawless defense record to not lose any points and get the fountains on every map you fight in. but idk
It's based on total lift. If you were getting 400 per win starting from T21 and ending up at ~14000 lift, you'll still end up a much lower rank than someone who was getting 320 per win starting at T28 who ends up at ~20000 lift.
I was settling for 340 per win this week and ended up rank 5555 with 20500 lift.
There really needs to be a filter/favorites function for accessories with how many there are now. I don't care about any of the shitty accessories that are just some random item sitting on your head.

Dancers could get dodge through speed smoke, or other means. I think Rockslide 3 is saying that it gives the dancer Canto and the danced unit +6 def/spd and Dodge. The dancer doesn't get dodge for dancing.
Once again, take it with some salt, the game gets weird with wording sometimes.
Ok I leveled up Peony and had her dance for Nina, it gave Nina canto and dodge
I danced my Peony with the RS3, and a normal dance. she didn't get any benefit from RS3 that I saw. something might be up. I think peony's base dance gives canto.
Attuned Peony gives Canto 1 to anyone she refreshes, but Rockslide Dance gives Peony herself Canto 1, while also granting Dodge to whoever she danced.
Does Triandra's weapon stack? Like if you had two Triandra next to each other, do you take 10 damage at the start of your combat, activating both of their weapons?

Assuming you mean Halloween Flayn she is too slow to really benefit off of spd smoke and can't use rein skills since she is a Calvary unit. Also staves are unable to use smoke skills otherwise I'd be running Panic Smoke 4 on my staff unit. The only useful skills she could possibly run would be:

>Infantry.spd tactic
>canto control
>Cross spurs atk/spd (if you got them)

The new ploy gives you phantom res, so it compares your res stat +5 with the opponent's res stat
i was of by 1, actually, you need 33. your res plus 5 needs to beat theirs, i thought it was "beat or tie"
it's not phantom res since it doesn't work for other checks. it's just that most stat checks nowadays let you be a little under. GLR, whichever fighter hydra has, flashing sparrow, and so on
however, 32 res can still debuff him as long as you wait a turn. since you received a -3 and he received a -4 it means he's back to being 1 below [yours plus 5]

I'd say ER is her ideal B skill. She's not really the fastest thing around to Preempt bows/tomes that focus on stacking Atk/Spd, and to kill high res, low spd nukes you would be able to Preempt, you'd need Luna or Flare which wouldn't get immediately charged after combat with just TP4.
You're right, relying on spd skills in general is a huge bet already. As for the rest of her build I suppose the atk/spd finish is the best infantry A for now, and C I'm between time pulse 4 or atk/spd oath.
If it helps, TP3 will pretty much perform the same as TP4 for her so you could save both your TP4/Oath4 fodder.

Iirc I think it said once a unit has been attuned that unit can no longer inherit their skills to others so if you attune a rearmed hero you basically kill it's fodder potential.

You can only inherit them from their original owner, but units that inherited the X skill can still be used as fodder for any other skill they possess.
