It should also be noted that they don't always grab units in release order, I can't remember what units they did it with but I do remember times where they skipped ahead one or two units to create a more appealing lineup, then doubled back for the missing ones in later DSH runs.

I wouldn't say this game is completely f2p friendly but they do give a few units that are extremely helpful to new players.
You'll be able to the most of the normal content but probably not most modes out the gate. Also its probably best playing this if you played a fire emblem game or two, makes it easier to get attached

I could swear it used to be that the banner would run in the last week of the month with the reveal around the 20th or so but it seems to be getting later and later every time. It's not good for my autism when they don't stick to a schedule.
They have indeed pivoted to having it start towards the very end and extending a week or two into the new month. In the past I also remember LHBs/MHBs starting earlier in the month. Sadly the lack of reliability in the LHB/MHB's alternating schedule is something we will have to learn to live with.

Why is +SPD a popular alternative boon on Legendary and Duo Chrom?
prior to deadeye catching on with LChrom, because he had just enough speed to mitigate some damage reduction that dodgetanks were using when fully meme'd, and just enough speed to naturally double units that would dump defense.
Now it's just a full on meme, especially with duo, because he has automatic followups when initiating or if in unity range.
Legendary has a good amount of spd after the superboon and investing the rest of his skills in spd, and his base atk and bulk are already high enough on their own. I think the idea is to double some of the cast with highish spd and to one-shot the rest of the cast (ie, high spd but fragile) with high atk.
For Duo it's similar except the high spd helps him guarantee follow-ups against sort fast foes with follow-up denial. I can't think of a practical example though, which is probably why I haven't seen him with a spd build.

I can't think of any units that do this off the top of my head other than like, ironically, a fully maxed out regular Chrom himself thanks to his Sealed Falchion
There are plenty of recent ones, like A!Idunn, Limstella, L!Myrrh, Y!Ilyana, Ash, L!Fae, plus anyone with skills like Sturdy Impact. But I couldn't think of any practical examples because half of those are terrible matchups for him (A!Idunn, Ash, L!Fae) or easy wins he wouldn't need spd for because Deadeye (Limstella, L!Myrrh with no Iotes, Y!Ilyana).
The only real example I can think of is Hardy Fighter H!Myrrh.
I always thought that for Lego Chrom, it was just to double other Chroms in Arena. Also units without autodouble prefer speed.
In Duo Chrom's case, it's precisely because he can autodouble that +spd will help render slow units with followup denial unable to prevent him from doubling.

They've been raising it ever since the introduction of DFs iirc, there's a very high chance we will get another increase this ~August that will require all of your favourites to eat another 600 DFs.
God I wish old units had the same lowered DF costs across the board that they have for DFs 1-5.

If you got to allocate those states how you wanted AND it affected the unit's arena scoring it might be okay, but as it is, it is fricking worthless, and really just serves to make the already good characters better.

Freyja (both forms) are premium units though, this is a year 1 4* unit. I'd love for old units to become more viable but I don't know if a company would want to support a gacha where a mega old unit could match a near current gen unit in stat stacking. Though ideally I think that you should be allowed to allocate DF stats, and that the amount you can allot per stat should depend on the unit's max DF cap. I just don't think you should be able to dump everything into a single stat. I also think that DF costs should be lowered based on that same cap but I'm just dreaming at this point.

Common sense tells me this isn't a good idea, its no surprise they never did that again If they had announced she would be summonable on that TT banner I doubt the backlash would have ever happened
They probably got bombarded with complains for that hence why they never did it again
There was a similar incident a few months later where they threw Rhajat onto a VG banner instead of the new hero banner (back during their weird phase of only doing 3 new heroes banners) but because the announced it ahead of time no one complained about it.

Part of the problem is that IS (and Nintendo in general) aren't aware of datamines being a thing. Sure, Ayra would have been a dick move regardless but the datamine made it worse because people were aware of her existing in the first place. That set expectations for people that not only would she be a limited unit (and thus a nonissue for Arena because she was only getting 2 merges at most) but also that they'd get her easily. When she not only WASN'T going to be a nonissue in Arena but also was a 5* locked unit colorsharing with Eldigan, people flipped their shit.
If datamines didn't exist then the reaction still would have probably been negative, but it wouldn't have been anywhere near as bad. Too many people counting their chickens before they hatch, really.
She was a powercreep unit that didn't get announced (She was datamined earlier and everyone thought she was a free TT unit) and when she came out on the day of the banner she was the strongest sword unit at the time and ALSO color sharing with Eldigan, they never did that again after that and for some reason we never saw Ayra get an alt or anything since then. theres videos on this guys why is this even a question still

Is the guaranteed follow up part and "attacks twice" part of Summer Micaiah's weapon separate? Or does it all add up, as in, if Micaiah has a frick ton more Res than you, she'll quad you?
She can't activate both effects at the same time, she gets a guaranteed follow-up if the res difference is between 5 and 14, or a brave effect if it's 15 or more.

Why would you want to demote a seal?
If you want a specific stat line you may want to adjust the seal (if it were possible). Ex: If playing AR you may want to increase a units atk and spd but don't want them to particularly have the highest total of the two stats otherwise you maybe hit by the enemy shrine. Or you might be using L! Eliwood and want to adjust units' atk stats to equal out the same but you don't want to change out their better A Skill to adjust them.
That's some next level metagaming.
I really only want adjustable seals to use L! Eliwood and his bonus doubler buff. It is fun to have monster unit teams that feel nigh invulnerable.

I'd say Dimitri is the best, he just annihilates whatever the frick he is pointed at and has a lot of flexibility on top of that.
Roy comes next, being very powerful in his own right, but more targeted at fricking up beasts and dragons specifically. He loses a bit of versatility.
After that, I'd give it to xander. Gustav is good, but xander gets null followup in his prf, which I think pushes him over.
I like Groom Roy the best because of the dragon and beast effectiveness but they're all good enough that they're mostly interchangeable.
I'd say Dimitri>Xander=Roy>Gustav
Dimitri is crazy strong but his defenses are kinda lacking. If he can't kill with his first two hits, it's unlikely that he'll survive. See pic related.
Groom Roy has effective damage vs dragons, giving him good matchups against Idunn and F!Rhea, which are common Near Save tanks. Tempo effect is really good too. Free B slot= access to flow skills. Being a Harmonic is also nice in AR-D.
Xander is tanky but he doesn't have as much killing power as the others. NFU is rare on cavs and helps him a lot against many units. He's pretty good on EP too which is a nice bonus, I guess?
Gustav is probably the worst of the bunch. He's bulky but he's also extremely weak to NFU.

Xander is kinda interesting in the fact that he's like a godsword (NFU, DR) but with an axe and on a horse, and he gets Special Fighter while he's at it, but at the same time it's also like, nothing really new, it's just more effects on a unit type that usually don't get it.

Not as good as it used to be. Many units have DR or debuff negation nowadays, making vantage+broadleaf often inconsistent.
But with support units like Muspell and W!Bernie I think it can be fairly effective against many AR maps in chaos season (no bonus stats from mythics = vantage strategies are more viable).
Vantage strats are really long gone. And debuff neutralization/prevention would really hamper it as a full time weapon.
Works for me most of the time. I rarely run into maps with Hardy Bearing/Windsweep/Staff users, and even if I do, i have 7 free losses per week.
Yeah, that's why I said it'd be the perfect weapon to give to Merlinus so I can finally get his Dragonflowers. It's good enough to give him enough attack to function, but not valuable enough that I'd feel bad giving it to him. Plus, even IS isn't evil enough to put Merlinus in HoF, so it's not like I'll get any other opportunities to give him good skills for free.

Canto has made fliers and cavalry (and the like, one or two infantry units that can get it) into mobile menaces for hit and run, while Saves let armours be the protective shields for their teams but I feel like they did that TOO well, and now almost every armour ever is relegated to using it and being an enemy phase tank
However, I think damage reduction deserves a mention too, all of a sudden squishy units that would normally crumble to a strong hit or Special can live stuff they shouldn't
prfs continuously do the most damage to the game
if you inherit canto, saves, etc to anyone, it doesn't instantly make them broken
it's the combination of multiple powerful skill families that's gamebreaking, because then you have "i need a counter for X or i lose" and that started as early as vantage hector/takumi

Many prfs these days just have at least two or three effects built in, often times being effects that the unit's movement type normally can't have (see: Failnaught having NFU, Xander's axe also having NFU and Special accel)
And then you combine that with other unique skills or other good skills the unit has access to, and they basically have a complete arsenal in their skillset
Fast units these days are just "you can't deny my follow up attack, and I also get this effect and this effect and sometimes Canto"
I think Brave Hector started this trend since his Maltet refine had like, four or five effects built into it, one of them literally even removing his weakness

Now that, I wish I knew, because giving them actual movement at all times would defeat the purpose of having 1 Mov to restrict them, and is one of the reasons why the Edelgards are such a pain, especially with Brave Edelgard's warping
But you also make a good point in that it's hard to be player phase when you only have 1 Mov anyway, which is exactly why armours are usually just EP
We also only have Bold Fighter and the oft-forgotten Daring Fighter as like the only player phase Fighter skills, so maybe more of such skills would be a good place to start at least
See, the problem with Bold and Daring Fighter is still initiating. Armors just don't have the positioning options that every other move type has. Especially 1 range armors, since (without movement buffs or assists) they have to let 2 range enemies initiate on them before they get their own chance to initiate. So enemy phase is their only option unless they have movement buffs + incentive to initiate (the Edelgards + Raging Storm) or go dual-phase (pre-refine B!Hector, B!Edel, F!Edel). Initiating is just too much of a challenge otherwise.
I mean even in mainline they can have a hard time keeping up with everyone else, depending on the map and your playstyle. To say nothing of how cavs and fliers dominate most games because of their movement.
Anyways, I think it's fine if most of them are forced into enemy phase builds. Their opposite, cavs, are pretty much all player phase focused to take advantage of their high mov. The true, underlying problem is how IS adds but never subtracts. Giving Saves creative nerfs or toning down B!Hector's busted prf now that Saves exist would probably be the best solutions. But IS obviously doesn't want to "devalue" anyone's "investments", so that'll never happen.
1 mov is a unfortunate limitation that the smaller maps forced onto them, in mainlines it's perfectly fine for armors to have less movement because they can still at least move more than one step
the only compromise i could see now is if all armors had two-square movement but in cardinal directions only, with the second tile counted as warp movement like assault troop so it has counters
the other problem with player phase armors is often low speed or an offensive a skill leaves you to explode on enemy phase, and without specific prfs you need a lot of skill slots to make up for that
maybe a wary fighter 4 that ignores damage reduction would be nice, because DR also makes forced followups pretty necessary otherwise

Even should be better than Odd in general, imo. For fights where you get the first move (everything except AR-D and SD), you'd have to wait for Turn 3 for Odd to kick in since your opponent's Infantry/Quickened Pulses haven't activated yet, whereas for Even you only have to wait for Turn 2.

How does Lift Loss Control work anyway? I got two successes and then it activated on a third, then a failure for which it didn't activate
The idea is that only one success or loss matters every 20 hours. Once you get hit outside LLC (Lift Loss Control) then you enter a 20 hour safe period where failures don't consume lift. Either a failure or a success can trigger LLC, so you only need to care about one (roughly) daily win/loss. Personally I wouldn't mind if successes in LLC added an extra hour to the current period or some other leniency change, since as things are right now you could get 3 successes and one failure in 20 hours and if the one failure was outside LLC you've essentially taken a major hit for the day.
Why not just have it so you no longer get picked if you've already defended that day? Then have LLC after like three or five losses in a week so your losses are capped.
I only bought it to spark for a favorite and will do it again to when it finally has the resplendent I want. No shame in occassionally tossing out $10 to support content that you want.
Honestly buying pass every once in a while is fine. Just don't spend money to gamble.
Nothing wrong with the occasional Pass purchase, especially if you feel like its features can help you or you want a specific Resplendent.
Also this. I sometimes buy the cheaper Orb packs and usually don't get much out of it, at least with the Pass you get something guaranteed (namely the features, the unit if you want 'em, some Orbs and other items).

Seth seems fine. For a dude who (hopefully) comes with an autofollowup weapon, he sure does have a lot of wasted points in speed.
Spd gives him more options for axe choices in my opinion so I think IS wanted him to be a jack of all trades. You could probably give him any axe you wanted and he'd use it well

even if it's only active in one phase having an autodouble sword on a speedy unit means you can ignore follow-up denial without needing to dedicate a slot to NFU
i mean NFU is still good on these theoretical sword/axe users in enemy phase along with also being good to stop enemy autodoubles

NFU as a B skill is not common, but there are a few meta units with NFU in their prfs, and IS keeps releasing more fairly often (both S!Eirika and S!Nifl have it, for example).

I have the same problem. The root of it all is that any premium 5*+0 is going to do way more for you than any 4* rollable 5*+10, even if you sack several premium units to give them good SI. A solution could be to round out your Limited battle options by building up 4*s from certain games.

I've paired up Ash and Velouria for Galeforce purposes, but I also gave them both DC because one, I like Velouria, and two, I just kept getting DC and them being colourless means they can auto stuff without worrying about WTD too much. So I usually just use the two with DC and healing Specials (which Velouria helps charge very quickly), and then I have other Beasts or dragons to ensure they stay transformed, like Grima.
That doesn't exactly fly when the bonus unit isn't a Beast or a dragon, but I've autoed all of TT with just the Lv 1 4* Seth as the bonus and the other three mostly handled everything just fine.
I just bring my usual manakete team and auto on Hard 5, have been doing that for years.
My F!Edel isn't having any trouble this time, at least so far. Don't even need to break out Svalinn or Bonfire.
I do galeforce cavs,save armors of both types +bonus unit. AI is stupid sometimes though but I rarely get to my team 2. (last tempest trials with galeforce S!Dimitri as a bonus was a breeze)

Like, Faith in Humanity has a 3 space range, and the stat check is global, but Human Virtue II is just 2 spaces, and Roy has to stay within 2 spaces of those allies, AND they have to be buffed up and get the Def and Res buffs from somewhere else just for Roy to make the most of it
Dragonbind's effect is good on paper, essentially getting Special Fighter but with Null Guard rather than actually giving you Guard, but I don't know, I feel like getting the Special accel part and Null Follow Up (in some manner) would've been fine enough
Especially because Faith in Humanity would've provided the fricking Null Guard to begin with!

My thoughts exactly. 2 spaces is pretty steep a condition nowadays when other units get 3 spaces for better effects, what also doesn't help is that he's a DC user so the most you can really do with him is make him a EP-focused unit but there's units who do the job better. His DR Form effect is beyond dumb to me because it only affects the first hit, and not having any kind of NFU hurts him hard, which they should've given him that instead of Spurn IMO. It's like they didn't know how to improve him and opted with throwing a ton of stuff on him and hoped one of them sticks.
Start of turn within 2 spaces from an ally is manageable from my experience but yeah during combat with more than one can be a hassle
