Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes
Is it better to equip battalions to turbo-charge your character's innate advantages(e.g. axe battalion on axe user) or aim for versatility/diversity like how the Vestra Battalion has cavalry effectiveness?
I just ignored battalions for the most part but it would probably be better to double unit strengths
I prefer doubling-up on unit effectiveness, since you rarely have to put someone up against an enemy they're disadvantaged against. Instead I suggest making heavy use of move type effective weapons like the rapier, horse slayer, fly swatter, etc. You'll notice that almost all lance users are mounted.
all map layouts are designed to have all the axe enemies in one place. and the same for the other weapon types. since you can pick your battles it's obvious that you should make each of your units the ultimate slayer of one enemy type.
Former to capitalize on your strengths. Battalions give two things.
1. Higher advantage tier only determines how easily you break Stun Gauges. Now you have
>5 neutral matchups (+0) and 1 advantageous one (+1) or
>4 neutral matchups (+0), 1 disadvantageous one (-1), and 1 better advantageous one (+2)
2. Damage resistance. Enemies will have (Weapon) Buster Lv 1/2/3/4 for +80/85/90/95% damage taken and A rank battalions give -60% damage taken. So you can either take 195%/40% or 135%/100% damage on dis/advantageous matchups with Master classes, but there's never any reason to engage with disadvantegous matchups unless if using a disadvantageous -slayer type weapon like:
>Rapier (Sword, 30 Might + 200 Forging + 30 Reckless Power Lv 3 = 260) VS Cavalier/Paladin/Dark Knight/Holy Knight
>Wingthresher (Sword, 40 Might + 200 Forging + 40 RP3 = 280) VS Pegasus Knight/Falcon Knight
>Horseslayer (Lance, 280 Might) VS Great Knight
>Heavy Spear (Lance, 280 Might) VS Armored Knight/Fortress Knight/Great Knight
>Flycatcher (Lance, 280 Might) VS Wyvern Rider/Wyvern Lord
>Spear of Assal (Lance, 140 Might + 400 Might = 540) VS Great Knight
>Wolf Fangs (Gauntlets, 280 Might) VS Bow Knight
So it'll depend on the map but typically match things up. The achievement for 30,000 advantage KOs and battalion KOs can also be done simultaneously.
It's your class ability (Weapon) Buster Lv 1/2/3/4 for +80/85/90/95% damage deal and +1 advantage tier or your (Weapon)breaker ability from your preferred Master class for +50% damage dealt and +1 advantage tier that matters more.

The only thing I can advise is to lower the resolution scaling if you are above 1x and either live with the dips or wait for future updates. I do not know your specs, but a better CPU/GPU could also solve the issue. So for now just keep playing and wait for the updates imo.

That's fair, plus it's a laptop since I'm a transient. 11800H and a 3060. It's not unplayable, just around 40-45 with the screen full of shit. Still pretty happy with it so far.

The only other things you could try is just the usual stuff like update your GPU drivers, ensure you are not running anything else while playing and so on.
You have 3060, so try switching from OpenGL to Vulkan or vice versa. Maybe you would have more stability on the other API.
Afaik, many people finished the game on Ryujinx last month, so it could just be something software based on your side as your HW isn't too trash either. But I am sure the stability and performance will get slightly better over time with future updates.

Just tried out the Vulkan branch of Ryujinx and it's running quite a bit better. Didn't realize Ryujinx defaulted to OpenGL, which makes sense about the performance.

If you don't get it, odds are Caspar's older brother or one of his other family members who do have a crest, or even Randolph would've probably gotten it.

No, but it empowers the spells and Shadowblade, and Empowered Banshee, Luna, Dark Spikes, etc. are super good to use with them.

The fact that they are still fighting the Kingdom actually gives the nobles a common enemy, and the one thing that all of the nobles in the Empire agree with is that they want to conquer the Kingdom. Claude has no intention for the Empire to be destroyed and the war ending and the Empire being destroyed will make him lose his chance to kill Rhea. The Kingdom winning would solidify the church's position. This is not 3 Houses Claude who thought it best for the Empire to be destroyed and trusted Dimitri with ruling Fodlan, so the logic from 3 Houses doesn't apply here.

claude doesn't attack the empire if you recruit byleth in SB. his curiosity about the world after rhea's death can be satisfied, apparently. if he's hopelessly outmatched and doesn't have an opportunity like aillel then he can still take the loss and go home.

If the writers insist on telling the player that Rhea is to blame for everything, I want a villainous/aggressive church route where Rhea meets Sothis again through (Ashen Demon) and they agree to drop the pretense and make it clear that the Nabatea belong in Fodlan and that anyone who would threaten them and not defect from the side of uppity war-mongering lords will be punished. Being more transparent would also give the opportunity to fix the problems with crests and punish those who abuse them.
Only if we also get a proper moleman route where you fight them, so we can finally get the big climactic Byleth vs Shez finale.

I've seen Hopesgay makes this claim, this but I can't help but wonder if they only say this have ever played any other route besides CF. Or simply just didn't bother to play Ferdinand or recruit him, despite the game pushing you to do so.

Ferdinand's paralogue cannot be accessed in CF, and all of his character development in his supports focuses on his growth as an noble, and individual. On how he wants to do what's best for his people, and not what the desires of the Empire.
Needless to say his growth takes him away from the Empire, as he finds himself disagreeing with Edelgard's way of doing things and can't ignore the copius amounts of unnecessary collateral that her goals require.
That isn’t remotely similar to the game “pushing you to recruit Ferdinand”. You have literally zero way of knowing what characters have what paralogues in any given route without accessing the internet. For the 99.9% of people who played the game without investing in heavy armor, Ferdinand is entirely inaccessible outside of the black eagles.
When you try to recruit a character and fail the game tells you what stats you need to train, it's not exactly hidden. If someone really wanted Ferdinand on their team the game would them that they need heavy armor and then they'd just train it.
The reaction you get after killing him, and especially from Dorothea whose the easiest character to recruit (besides Slyvain) clues you in. As well as the fact that you can't access his paralogue in CF. Logic should tell anyone that that would mean that he's a character that's mean to be recruited, just like Caspar.

That's a ball-faced lie. Ferdinand is harder to get but not impossible. I've come across a lot of casuals who actually have recruited him in other routes.

Generally characters only learn a single Breaker skill, and it's in their preferred class.
