Dude attacked 11x4 on the first turn and each turn it doubled it strenght, first 22 and then 44 again.
So my options were:
>attacking him at the risk of doubling his strenght with a literal starter deck with at most you get a Strike that does 6 damage
>not attack and not double his strength but still eat 11 each turn
So what were my choices and chances?

There is NO enemy (singular) that looks like a demon and hits for 11 four times. In the entire game. Not just act 1
Also there is NO enemy in the game that doubles strength. Gremlin Nob only gains 2 strength every time you play a skill and he does look like a demon
If you are not lying, then you are playing on someone else's account and they have installed a shit ton of mods
Go ask them what is expected of you
But let's just say you ARE facing Gremlin Nob: then there a lot of things you could do to prevail in this fight but it pertains to preparation
Have you added some good attack cards? Do you have a good potion? Do you have enough hit points to survive a few turns?
Evaluate all these things before even thinking of potentially facing an elite in act 1

I believe the lowest floor to see it is... floor 6/7? That is enough time to get attack cards and/or decide that you are not strong enough and dodge an elite on the map

Elites don't spawn before floor 6 or 7 and the first floor is always a fight. You can't face an elite without fighting at least 1 easy hallway. Also the gremlin nob doesn't have a multi attack. Do you want to try again?

If you are playing on a custom run which allows you to face Elites on any floor, expect to die
The elites are run enders when you face them even once, don't frick with the modifiers if you don't even understand the normal run

The game is essentially solved even into A20 you are probably brand new. You'll "get it" in 3-4 more runs and solve the systems yourself.
