I actually liked the hospital-cum casino level, that kind of eerie surrealism at least reminded me of the first game. Compare the completely dull psychedelic level and the one where you're in a library and then in Chinatown for some reason.
All those levels were pure ass, except the hospital one, which was just mediocre. I think the only world that matched the feel and creativity of the first game's was the cooking show one.
The cooking show level was good, too. I also give the first level credit for reminding me of the Meat Circus. The Grulovia dark ride level was good too. For the rest, I don't know what Tim Schafer was doing all this time. Maybe the idea the game had to be a 3D platformer was holding them back. I don't think any fan of the first game really cared about the platforming, it was more the themes that gave each level a different format. They could have made each level in 2 a different genre.

The throwaway gag with her having a different voice was funny, but it would have actually been interesting to interact with a "Lili" that is possibly very different from the Lili Rasputin knows. Maybe he needs this Lili to help him do something in Bon Zanotto's mind, and of course the mental Lili has no idea who Raz is and no particular reason to help him, but he tries to find some common ground with her anyway.
i’m glad a sequel exists but definitely nothing like its predecessor. i consider the first psychonauts my favorite video game. it was a world i never wanted to leave, the summer camp, the other interesting students. part two all the characters are hateable and even raz turns to a dumb pussy. i’ll always love part 1, it has dogan
