the decaying zombies.. tell a story.
the great elden zombie was decayed

soon, marika's offspring, zombies all, claimed the shards of the elden zombie
the zombie taint of their newfound strength triggered the decaying.

silly question ig but in game is it ever said that shabriri was originally a merchant? i kinda implied he was and shabriri is that hebrew demon. it's why all the madness spells come from the eyes, he's a scourge upon the eyes.

It's likely that Shabriri was inhabiting the body of a merchant at that time, not that he was a merchant himself by blood (if indeed he was ever a physical person at all). But yes, I think he's a pretty on the nose allegory for Bar Kokhba, the leader of the third israeli revolt who was at the time considered to be their long awaited Messiah to lead them to freedom from and eventually domination over their imperial rulers, but was later damned as a deceiver after the revolt was crushed with a punitive campaign that was so devastating it not only destroyed Israel as a state (of particular note, israelites were banished from Jerusalem and all of their holy sites and relics there burnt), but eliminated Judaism as a concrete political entity for over a thousand years. Of note is the fact that the merchants in the game blame Shabriri as a "slanderer" and try to place the blame for their treatment entirely at his feet, but many of the merchants in the game use frenzied spells despite not having been trapped in the Leyendell Catacombs, suggesting that they did indeed have an affinity for chaos and it's probably that Shabriri merely convinced them to act on their desires, before betraying them in such a way that their hate and suffering would manifest the three fingers.
probably the single best "adventure" you will get out of vidya assuming you like dark souls. don't burn yourself out on it. you probably wont do a second playthrough
