this shit came out 3 years before dd1 and is better in every conceivable way. pause healing is so fricking gay man. in zelda it's like whatever because there's so many interesting systems going on and combat is so free form. in dd the only thing that's any good is the combat, everything else is total shit, and it's underpinned by fricking pause healing. lmao
Is that what you see? I see a master of its craft, like Donguri playing DMC or that one japanese guy playing MGS3, you have to be an master to play with such precision
The player is being a moron on purpose. That area is literally the first level after the tutorial. He doesn't need all the spastic rolling. All he has to do is move slightly out of the way or block and he'd be in range to attack them just fine.
The first try is always the most soulful and passionate because it's usually when the person has something to prove. Nowadays fromsoft and miyazaki are just releasing shit for the sake of it, with the exception of armored core 6 which was very much a passionate project and it showed. It was liked by anyone that isn't a soulsBlack person. Miyazaki tried to break free from souls with Sekiro but the soulBlack person community disliked that so they had to run back to the same old formula with elden ring to make loads of cash from said soulsBlack folk obsessed with rolling with iframes in games.
better than every single sequel
Yeah no.
Ds1 and Ds2 are better.
Ds1 is literally unfinished with the lowest lows in the franchise, but also the highest highs. Because of that alone it already mogs demon's shit and by not having trash mechanics that serve absolutely no purpose or fun whatsoever.
DS1 is largely just a DeS clone with less soul, and no muh interconnected level design that's pretty much dropped halfway through isn't that amazing. I don't know why homosexuals cry about DeS' bosses when a third of DS1 is inferior clones. >Asylum, Stray, Firesage
Vanguard copied 3 times >Gargoyles
Maneaters with axes and fire >Iron Golem
Tower Knight but he can grab you and fall >Pinwheel
Fool's Idol but with no traps or anything he just fricking sucks >Bed of Chaos
Dragon God but 1000x more annoying with death pits and the fricker spamming sweep attacks to push you into them
Darks souls 2 and demon's souls are my two favorite souls games, even if you include elden ring. Dark souls 2 might not reach the same highs as ds1 but the last third of ds1 is terrible and I usually just stop replaying it after the archives. Whenever I replay ds2 I actually finish it.
Is it true that Demon's Souls bosses are generally way more gimmick-y and unique than later game bosses? I only know one person that's played it and that's what he says.
The Leechmonger can rapidly regenerate health, and it has a DOT effect with leeches from its attacks and if the player character enters the water at the bottom of the arena.
You were probably using fire to kill it.
Normally, it would regenerate its health if you can't kill it fast enough.
If you were at the bottom, it would made you slow down with its slug things
>Get soul destroyed >End up like Allant >Get outright destroyed >Get world destroyed >Best ending
I do not think you pondered that decision for long enough before making it.
>Best bosses (this is not up for debate) >Best self-contained level design. DeS beats it on overall world design. >Better graphics than DeS 1 and 2. >Unforgettable gameplay moments like Yurt killing all your essential npcs at the nexus, Maiden Astraea killing herself, using the Thief's Ring to sneak around Old hero, False King Allant de-leveling you, True King Allant being a blob you have to put out of its misery, a second Maneater coming to rape you, the entirety of Tower of Latria, realising that Adjudicator is just the bird on top of the monster, Old Monk just being other players, using Storm Ruler to kill Storm King with huge gusts of wind etc.
It's very good but DaS is better overall. DeS feels more like a rough prototype in comparison and DaS is where everything learned from DeS fell into place for the first time and was then again perfected with Bloodborne.
Calling DeS the best is transparently perfomatively contrarian.
Return to Slumber is my favorite of the two credits themes for conveying a real sense of ease at the end of the arduous battles and essentially being the lullaby that puts the Old One to sleep. It's cooler to see all of the bosses (sans real Allant) and the Old One too. Other credits songs have tried to match the serenity of Return to Slumber, but IMO they've never matched it nor had the same tie between the game itself and what the song's relevance is.
I like it more than DaS especially with 3-1, 3-2, and 5-2. Gimmick bosses are more funs than whatever gaping dragon is.
Though, the soul form shit is one of my least favorite feature in the series.
SOVL
Up your rendering resolution, dingus.

eat shit, falseflagging elden troony
you weren't there for either game
needing to use healing items in dragon's dogma is a skill issue
Combat in dd is just bashing damage sponges, whats so good about it?
it's not lol it's so bad to play.
I think the person playing at the time of recording must have been having a stroke.
why isn't the lock on working?
It's like watching someone struggling with the inputs for a tekken combo.
Is that what you see? I see a master of its craft, like Donguri playing DMC or that one japanese guy playing MGS3, you have to be an master to play with such precision
>rolling to kill dreglings
fricking lmao
but we know you're shitposting because that's new game plus
are the rolling attacks this bad? Or is it skill issue?
longsword 1h rolling attack is kinda jank
but I don't know how you can watch this and think the person playing is even trying
The player is being a moron on purpose. That area is literally the first level after the tutorial. He doesn't need all the spastic rolling. All he has to do is move slightly out of the way or block and he'd be in range to attack them just fine.
DS3 zoomie filtered
Who is the player? I want to give him the moron award lol.
I still don't understand what this webm is trying to show unironically. Can someone explain it to me? without irony if possible
DS3 phantom range
Test
It's not designed around being an i-frame roller.
They made snoytrannies feel special about their exclusive unpolished turd.
tbh they could have had it worse with the 360. i mean gaylo, gayza, gays of war... gayble? thats just nothing to write home about
It's worse than every game but DS3 but better than DD2 LMAO
It's honestly kind of fascinating how little Souls has changed. 98% of the series was already codified in Demon's Souls.
PC port any day now bros
Finished it on RPCS3 using save sates and all.
Had a blast.

Do you enjoy just making shit up?
>, with the exception of armored core 6 which was very much a passionate project and it showed
we get it. AC6 is your first AC game.
better than every single sequel
Yeah no.
Ds1 and Ds2 are better.

having a good initial concept
Darks souls 2 and demon's souls are my two favorite souls games, even if you include elden ring. Dark souls 2 might not reach the same highs as ds1 but the last third of ds1 is terrible and I usually just stop replaying it after the archives. Whenever I replay ds2 I actually finish it.
An demon souls runs fricking incredible in the ps3 emu holy frick Im playing at 1440p 120fps
Im lost at the chtulhu tower tho frick c**t
>AAAAAAAAAUUUUUUGGGGGGGGHHHHH
>PLEASE, HELP ME
Soul gets optimized out of a game the longer a series gets developed. It is why Demon's Souls has the most soul by far.
every souls game after it improved on the gameplay, feels like a nostalgia take
Is it true that Demon's Souls bosses are generally way more gimmick-y and unique than later game bosses? I only know one person that's played it and that's what he says.
Yes, but not in a bad way.
of the game's bosses, only a few out of more than a dozen total like Leechmonger or Old Hero could genuinely be called gimmicky.
yes and that's a good thing
Leechmonger has a gimmick? he always dies so fast for me that i can't remember wtf it is.
The Leechmonger can rapidly regenerate health, and it has a DOT effect with leeches from its attacks and if the player character enters the water at the bottom of the arena.
You were probably using fire to kill it.

only good swamp in the whole series
>Moonlight Greatsword is just in some random slug nest
kino
>How'd they do it?
-Legitimate innovation
-Variety in boss battles
-Consistent from beginning to end
*mogs every other Souls girl*
So many games are just trying to play catch up.
killed her for the best ending
feels good
>Get soul destroyed
>End up like Allant
>Get outright destroyed
>Get world destroyed
>Best ending
I do not think you pondered that decision for long enough before making it.
It's a great dungeon crawler, but people prefer boss fights to fine dungeoning.
Yet none of the subsequent games came up with any bosses more remarkable than the Old Monk.
Because the game is not just ROLLROLLROLLROLLROLLR1ROLLROLR1
It's a true adventure
Dodge rolling is kino.
>Best bosses (this is not up for debate)
>Best self-contained level design. DeS beats it on overall world design.
>Better graphics than DeS 1 and 2.

Its just that good.
Are you moronic?
>(this is not up for debate)
your neurotypical diagnosis is not up for debate too
Dark Souls 1 is a superior sequel
I played DeS for the first time this year.
It's outdated af. Modern FS games blow it out of the park.
It's very good but DaS is better overall. DeS feels more like a rough prototype in comparison and DaS is where everything learned from DeS fell into place for the first time and was then again perfected with Bloodborne.
Calling DeS the best is transparently perfomatively contrarian.
DaS is a complete mess in a few places and DeS is way more consistent in a number of ways. There's no dragon ass inferno or N64 garden in DeS.
Return to Slumber is my favorite of the two credits themes for conveying a real sense of ease at the end of the arduous battles and essentially being the lullaby that puts the Old One to sleep. It's cooler to see all of the bosses (sans real Allant) and the Old One too. Other credits songs have tried to match the serenity of Return to Slumber, but IMO they've never matched it nor had the same tie between the game itself and what the song's relevance is.
best song in the souls series
one of the best pieces of music in all games
the chord change at 1:53 makes me feel something
I like it more than DaS especially with 3-1, 3-2, and 5-2. Gimmick bosses are more funs than whatever gaping dragon is.
Though, the soul form shit is one of my least favorite feature in the series.
DS1 feels so soulless by comparison to Demons.
I'm having a blast with it.
Dark Souls 1 is the same game but slightly better in every way.
*slightly soullesser
Except for the second half, we don't talk about that
Seriously why are DS1 fans so salty about DeS? It's objectively the better game. Is it just a case of sour grapes they missed out?
>sony simp doesn't know about emulation
That took like 10 years to be emulated well, and such a wait is more than enough for even pirating opportunities to run up against tribalism.
wrong
Its main focus isn't some shit combat system, which helps quite a lot
The vibe feels much more mystical. The other souls games feel le desolate and hopeless.
