Yeah it’s awright for the price it’s at now. It’s by no means a low budget cash in.
It's pretty decent. Fun combat and lots of fanservice for North Star fans. Worst thing i can say about it is the pacing of the story and it being pretty short.
If you want you can easily finish this game in 1-2 days. But if you actually do the side quests and side content you can get more out of it.
Can I play without having watched the anime?
Yeah. You can enjoy it even with zero knowledge about FotSN but you will obviously miss out on the fanservice.
If you like Yakuza you are most likely a weeb. If you are a weeb you most likely like anime. If you like anime then what the frick, you should read or watch Hokuto no Ken
I like Yakuza.
Anime is fricking gay.
It's weird, I don't really mind anime-tropes in vidya format. But I can't stand sitting down and watching a show or reading a manga. I've tried. I do like redneck anime tho.
hokuto no ken is boomer shit, didnt you realize this board belongs to us now, grandpa? your times over.
I don't know why non-boomers would like a franchise of 40-50 year old men talking about the good old days and how they feel themselves getting older.
im 20 yo and i feel old, you wouldnt understand
Yes, it pretty much is an alternate retelling of the series first Saga, it takes elements and notorious characters to tell a condensed story with similar story beats but the outcome is mostly original. For what is worth it is a new experience even to people who actually read/watched FOTN.
Fun but kinda short but at least it's not a fricking musou.
It's a retelling but the anime retcons itself like several times anyways so you can get the basic plot. Doesn't matter that much but you'll miss out on the fanservice
I wouldn't recommend it. The beginning of the game spoils the first arc. The rest of the game is an original story though.
Yeah, has a semi-original story but still has a lot of fanservice type fights and characters like Rei, Toki, Shin, Jagi, Souther, Raoh etc.
Game fricking sucks. Even Yakuza 3 was better.
wrong
Holy shit, no.
Anon, I too liked the Resident Evil tier story shit with the moronic over the top stuff like the sudden CIA twin of Kazama and hand to hand bull fighting, but it played like shit.
What I wanna know is why Kaito Files DLC is not in the sale, it's still 30 bucks
It was $20 a while ago, must have missed it anon.
For what it’s worth the dlc was a lot of fun, definitely worth the time
The season pass is $21, dumbass. You get kaito files and all the other DLC along with it. Boxer style is absolutely OP.
i haven't used boxer yet, how broken is it?
You can pretty much mash and dodge without any effort and destroy almost every boss. If you actually learn combos, you're unstoppable and juggling without even having to style switch.

Its not
Elaborate on how wrong you are.
I'm European, you posted US screenshot
Price reductions on PSN are almost always across all regions. If you're not from the UK, look up your shithole yourself, I'm tired of this.
Why would you think I'm UK when I say I'm European? What a random region to jump to. There are far bigger and important countries in Europe, with bigger populations, than England, Wales or Scotland.
>If you're not from the UK, look up your shithole yourself, I'm tired of this.

>There are far bigger and important countries in Europe, with bigger populations, than England, Wales or Scotland
Name three.
France, Germany, Italy, Spain
i'm extremely late to the thread but boxer style is not good at all. it's got low damage, is bad against crowds, and there's no point in using it because it doesn't flow well when combined with the other 3 styles and it needs to tiger drop to proc its effect of charging EX quicker- which is a pain and not something you can easily do mid combo. however, it's really, really FUN. the low damage and juggle potential lets you do more with fights and you get a gay little dance as a taunt if you get a knockdown. the season pass might be worth it just for boxer alone.
>Boxer
>Low damage.
Huh? It's got absurd DPS, it can stunlock enemies, it has a Tiger Drop on every single button, it has charge attacks on I think every single button, it can do a quickstep attack in a quarter of a second and break the enemy out of anything, the damage is around Crane tier on basic punches, if you just use a single Tiger charge attack it becomes even more broken, and it has the most absurd maneuverability. The only thing more broken than it is Pistol in Ishin. When you can completely prevent a boss or miniboss from doing almost anything, can dodge anything faster than an enemy can attack, and can throw out as much damage as Tiger can in half the time you know you've got something absurd.
not true
Just buy it poorgay, it's kino.
if you started with 0 you might not like it, it's a lot more focused on the beat-em-up and there's not as much side content
Some of the best combat in any Yakuza game
Story isn't that great, the opening tutorial is basically an abridged retelling of the first 10 chapters of the Fist of the North Star manga. Once the tutorial part of Lost Paradise is done it starts a completely new storyline with OC characters but some scenes/encounters from the original manga are recreated in the game. A few of the characters from the original manga appear in a handful of substories but don't do much.
I played this game almost 5 years ago so I don't remember much but I remember feeling like most of the minigames were half-assed. I think Lost Paradise had the same exact Nightclub/cabaret management from Yakuza 0? There was also a desert racing minigame and you could grind out races to get better parts for your buggy but it felt like it took forever to get better parts. One on one colosseum fights were fun. There was a rhythm minigame in the clinic where you had to heal people, also a bartending minigame where you mostly talked to people which were funny as a gag once or twice but not fun to complete, just mundane after a while.
Yakuza 5 and 0 felt much better in regards to the world/minigame content and substories.
I don't remember it having cabaret, I do remember bartending and baseball though, and a shitty racing game.
Nevermind it totally has the cabaret stuff too.
If you enjoy Yakuza, you will enjoy this too, as it's basically the same except with different characters. You can even get a free Kiryu skin on the PSN Store to make Ken look like Kiryu
>You can even get a free Kiryu skin on the PSN Store to make Ken look like Kiryu
It's not free anymore. Costs $4 USD.
Its miles better than Y7 anyway
Doesn't say much when 7 is garbage.
>Lost Paradise not on PC
>Yakuza is now Like A Dragon in the west and I still can't rename/reorg games on Steam.
>Lost Paradise not on PC
I have to assume it's purely for licensing reasons.
Yeah, SEGA would probably need to negotiate that with the license holders again.
Which probably isn't worth it considering that they would need to spend money on a new PC port and could only sell it for like 20 USD at best. Considering that the Playstation version has been on sale for like 5 bucks or less for quite a while thats about as much as you can charge realistically for a new port.
Is this the game with this God tier model?
>Yakuza gameplay
Ewwwww...what a waste
why whats bad about Yakuza gameplay?
Oh, just literally everything
Such as?
>the enemy AI (or lack thereof)
>The dumbed down property of moves
>The damage scaling of moves
>The embarrassingly sloppy way the game handles transitioning from normal attacks to context sensitive attacks
>The length of those context sensitive attacks
>The fact those context sensitive attacks are completely removed from everything else that might be happening in the world around them
and more. I have always wanted to like Yakuza but the combat is the worst thing about it. Not even up to the old beat em ups it's meant to take inspiration from.
play Lost Judgment
well i can't but i seriously doubt the game is that much different.
Best combat of the franchise. And why can't you?
cause i don't own the things it play on
no ps4/5/sexbox/steam?
homie did i stutter?
So you only play Nintendo?
I don't know why you are so interested in my life but i actually only play my PS3, 2 and 1 backlog. PS5 is too expensive with frick all games and it does not make much sense to get a PS4 again now that 5 is out and especially because it's also expensive for a old gen console. It's difficult to justify buying a new gaming system in current year.
so for the past decade, you've not been able to play recent games?
nice reading comprehension
I think anon was trying to take your opinion seriously but couldn't fathom you confidently judging a series of games without playing anything that wasn't released 10-15 years ago.
But no, i actually did not play the most recent Yakuza's (why would i?) and i don't need to. There's plenty of material around for me to judge them and the verdict is bottom of the barrel.
>Ganker said so
oh ok
>Ganker
Where did i say Ganker? Why would i fricking take Ganker's opinion seriously? If i did i would be running to the store to buy the Yakuza games right now. I tried to get into this series several times, i did plenty of research until i gave up and decided it's not for me.
You can cope however you want. That's not my problem.
>You can cope however you want.
Likewise.
what would i be coping with? Not being able to play a game i don't want to play?
not having played any game released in the past 10 years since the ps3 era ended
read that post again you dumb illiterate homosexual
No need, it was clear reading it the first time that you're coping with your irrelevant opinion.
Jesus Christ lmao. Stay triggered, button masher-kun
You're the one hanging out in a Yakuza thread despite not playing any of the games in the last decade and not enjoying them in the first place, just to keep coping.
I know you must love stagnation but try and get some new material.
says the game still living in 2013
are you seriously samegayging? lmao
>posted three seconds apart
>samegayging
getting a bit obvious now
Yes, it's gotten a bit obvious that you're a moron.
>Go do something else with your time you sad sad clown.
Ironic, you pathetic homosexual. Your opinion still doesn't matter, by the way.
>No, me and my soul mate that misinterpreted the same post and refuse to acknowledge while continuing to harp on about it are two unique, strong and independent individuals who are destined to reply to the same posts in unison
WOW that's actually fricking pathetic. Actually pathetic in every sense of the word. My God, not even an hour ago i was talking about no matter where you go on this board you always run into resident schizos associated with whatever game is being discussed. Go do something else with your time you sad sad clown.
Are you seriously asking for posts that are 3 seconds apart? You really are moronic.
>says the game
Embarrassed yourself there, didn't you?
Oh yeah, i completely forgot about this guy. Appeared in one game and then they just completely wrote him out of the series.
Unlike you, I can play games released in the last decade so I have plenty of new material.
Coping with thinking your opinion matters when you're applying it to a series of games you haven't played in 10-15 years.
Opinion discarded, seeing as you haven't played a good portion of the series.
all the best yakuza games are on PS2 and ps3 anyway, if you don't like those it ain't for you
Are you, by any chance, autistic?
Yakuza is Yakuza. Don't compare it to anything else, because there's nothing else like it. It plays the way it's supposed to.
what the frick kind of moronic argument is this? How many levels of irony are Yakuza gays operating at?
It's a 3D beat 'em up drama set in a hugely interactive world.
The only thing close to it is Shenmue, and even that lags behind it.
Yakuza spinoffs, my man. Connected to the series.
>Nooooooo the combat can't be better because there's a casino in the game you see!
No, seriously, what the frick are you even saying? This is a legitimate question. Have you just not played many video games and think being able to pick up objects is something Yakuza invented or something? That's the only ting i can think of. What you do in the levels is completely fricking irrelevant to the combat system. The combat encounter design in the game (as in how combat is triggered and how it's related to the level itself) is even one of the most primitive still around.
the combat can't be better because there's a casino in the game you see!
No, seriously, who even said that?
Stop twisting posts, autist. If that's what I meant to say, then I would've said that.
The franchise as a whole is different from everything else out there.
idk man, Judgment and FotNS play a lot like Yakuza
Yep, that's what spinoffs tend to do.
You said nothing. Literally fricking nothing.
You're the one who got something totally different from my post, spaz.
Me:
>"It's a 3D beat 'em up drama set in a hugely interactive world."
You
>"Did you think Yakuza invented picking up weapons?"
You're a wiener, man.
>Me:
>"Meaningless buzzwords irrelevant to the topic of discussion"
>You:
>"What?"
>everything is a buzzword
Do you use that as a way to mask your autism?
>everything is a buzzword
>everything is a buzzword
No, your post specifically.
You type like an edgy 14 year-old pube.
idk man, Yakuza plays a lot like Judgment and FotNS
Isn't that her model from Ken's Rage? Mamiya only shows up for one side mission in Lost Paradise
i don't know anon, that's why i asked the question.
Absolutely. It's the grindiest Yakuza/RGG to 100% but if you just play it normally, it's great.
It's basically better than every Yakuza game combined. The protag isn't a cuck, has an actual love interest, the combat isn't fricking boring as shit, there's less forced walking segments, there's gore, the voice acting is excellent, soundtrack is awesome, atmosphere is top notch, and basically, Yakuza needs to be cancelled while Ken needs eight more sequels.
>voice acting
They literally gave Ken the same voice actor as Kiryu
Oh that sucks, guess I was lucky to get it early on
>playing subbed
90% of the franchise only exists with Japanese acting so I got used to it and refuse to accept any English voices
Only game I'd play dubbed is the OG 1
>The protag isn't a cuck
Counterpoint: yeah he is
not only does he kill multiple people to prove that he isn't, he turns those people into cucks themselves in the process
Still a cuck
You haven't watched the anime or read the manga, have you?
Jagi posting
piss off jagi
I got this today while playing the cabaret club minigame in 0, should it say LOVE instead or is it like a request for a specific girl?
its a request
this was my dream hokuto game and I love it
now if only I could get a big dragon ball adventure without the Z
Goofy fricking game that made a mockery of HnK, Akagi won again.
Ganker official YAKUZA ranking is still live until Ishin's release next month:
https://strawpoll.com/polls/1MnwvelW0y7/
>5 at the top
I just don't get it man
Well, actually, YAKUZA 5 is SEGA's magnum opus and the pinnacle of the franchise. It's everything RGG tried to achieve with the series and the best game of the past 30 years. Every game before or since YAKUZA 5 is a massive downgrade compared to it.
it was the first one I didn't finish
Yakuza 5 is the definition of a mixed bag.
A pretty massive mixed bag to be honest here.
Not-Sapporo is complete dogshit and easily the worst city in any Yakuza game period. And Harukas idol shenanigans take up way too much time as well.
But besides that you have a pretty good pack filled with some of the best moments of the series as well as side activities.
That said: The final boss is and always was the worst in any mainline Yakuza game. A complete asspull for the sake of asspulls. Not a satisfying way to end the game. Atleast in terms of writing. Gameplaywise 1 and 4 are definitely worse.
Still think Yakuza 3 had the worst antagonist. Mine's reasoning and motivations were horrible and basically boiled down to "I love you Daigo so I'm going to kill you and take over the Tojo, because I love you". Also the CIA shit that didn't fit in at all.
At least in 4 Daigo gets his ass kicked for being a fricking idiot
3 is stupid but it doesn't come out of nowhere.
5 is just "oh yeah i was that guys son all along so i will kill you and that will make me king of the yakuza"
>comparing Y5 to Witcher 3
Look, I love the game as much as the next guy, but this is just mind-boggling
the second half of the story seems like the kind of thing that results from a voice actor and writer strike, it makes 0 sense and drags the whole shit down. the towns in 5 are incredible and Aomori and Yokohama are the best locales of the series, and the combat is great, but 4 still edges it out as the best of the series
>Aomori
Which game is that from?
I'm pretty sure Saejimas town in 5 is in Aomori, but I could be wrong
Yakuza 5 was the true end of the franchise, the series was never quite the same. Since then it's just been remakes, remasters, spin-offs and while Yakuza 6 was okayish story-wise, all it really had going for it was the graphics.
Y6 was their first actual 8th gen console game and first dragon engine game, so they had to lower their scope to account for the more complicated physics engine and more demanding graphics and shit optimizations. Obviously things changed after that, because Kiryu's story was over and it should've fricking stayed that way. Yagami's and Ichiban's stories are completely separate things, so they don't need to have the same tone or feeling. Sometimes it's better to just accept a series to be over.
Unfortunately, they decided to bring back Kiryu from the dead at almost 60y/o.
You forgetting Yakuza 0?
Ah yes. A prequel. That's when you know there was nothing left to tell.
The only good game in the series
>https://strawpoll.com/polls/1MnwvelW0y7/
>Fist of the North start that low
Ganker confirmed trash taste. Always do the opposite of what Ganker says
well to be fair, it's a pretty huge list of games
This is a rigged poll btw
How so? I voted and can't vote again, it's one vote per IP. Also says it's been running for a month.
I just kept resetting my router and voted Yakuza 5 every time lol
>the absolute state of 5gays
nta but strawpolls are very easy to bot
I've seen the poll posted in various Yakuza threads over the past 4 weeks and the number of voters only seemed to increase each time it was posted. There isn't any botting. It's just been posted in like 30 Yakuza threads over the past month
YOURE A RIGGED POLE IN MY ASS
Accept the Yakuza 5 supremacy.
>This Yakuza-clone
its a musou
You’re probably thinking of the koei games, this one’s a Yakuza spin off
>€6 on european psn
It's a steal at that price. Go for it.
The driving stuff in the wasteland sucks
The rest is pretty good, full of fanservice too, though the OCs are mostly crappy
Pic related
Hope we get a sequel soon. It's HNK's 40th anniversary this year.
I'd love to see Hyoh and Kaioh make appearances.
Only thing is, who would Ichiban be based on? Kenshiro is Kiryu, Raoh is Goda, Jagi is Majima.
Would Ichiban be Shachi?
>soon
Not likely, RGG is busy with LADI, LADGTMWEHN and LAD8. Maybe after LADI & LADGTMWEHN are out they can finally get around to J3, which should be a priority, but I'm not ruling out a FotNSLP sequel.
>LADI, LADGTMWEHN and LAD8
>Like a Dragon Ishin, out next month
>Like a Dragon Gaiden The Man Who Erased His Name out this year
>Like a Dragon 8 out next year
I really wish they didn't bring Kiryu back. His story is over, the man is now in his 50s and everything is wrapped up. Also, no more Daigo. Please just kill Daigo off. Im tired of his 4D chess asspulls
Absolutely pathetic they can’t leave kiryu behind
They’re basically admitting that they have no confidence in ichiban
Too many fanboys like Kiryu, specially in Japan. He's like the definition of an honorable Japanese guy. But really, his story is done and he's in his mid 50s now. How much longer can they keep this up?
Forever
>LADGTMWEHN
I swear you people just like saying that
It's a pain to type out in full so yeah
You could just say Yakuza 6.5 and people would know what you mean.
I prefer to use the official name LADGTMWEHN so people know what I mean, instead of being confused by some weird fan name you just invented.
Or, my man, just call it Gaiden or LADG.
Gaiden means sidestory, so presumably there will be more in the future
I doubt it, but maybe.
I predict it, why else would they call it Gaiden, instead of just "The Man Who Erased His Name"?
Maybe Discotek will announce more Hokuto news when they stream in a at the end of the month.
>I'd love to see Hyoh and Kaioh make appearances.
Let's not, please. Even Buronson admits that yeah, probably should've stopped the story with Raoh's death.
It's not as good, sure, but still cool.
The problem is just that it feels so tacked on
>Toki and Raoh had a brother who both looks and sounds exactly like Raoh, except he has the EVIL version of Hokuto Shinken
>it's not even martial arts at that point, it's just straight up magic. They don't even try to bullshit their way around it with pressure points or any of that shit. No he can just control an AURA OF DARKNESS that straight up lets him fly and paralyze people with his evilness
>"My evil fighting energy absorbs all of your fighting spiritual energy before your fist reaches me."
frick you, that's like the most bullshit power ever. Yes I'll admit it is kinda cool from in a Conan the Barbarian way to have the final boss be a sorceror and not a fighter. But frick you anyway
OP, don't listen to anyone in these threads other than Moose.
He actually knows what he's talking about. The rest are newbie morons who all repeat the same shit.
Nah, Moose is an okay tripgay, but he has a really shit take regarding this game.
?
Yakuza gays get really pissy when anyone criticizes their combat yet they can never come up with arguments to defend it.
>Judgment 3 announced
>Saori protagonist
>Saori protagonist
>cabaret main game
>Saori boyfriends dlc
>SEX actions
All the girls (and even guys) wet for Kiryu. Sorry Ichiban.
What the frick is the rival shit in Lost Judgment's VR paradise? Do i need to get to the finish before them?
Bought, beat, loved. If you need Yakuza there is a Kiryu skin you can buy.
>Kiryu killing people
immersion broken
>dame da ne
I thought it was a super fun game, sadly it never came PC and probably never will. I'd love to get a PC port of it. It's a Yakuza clone but obviously it has more anime powers/influences. Doing Fist of the North Star martial arts/attacks and seeing the visuals was neat, also all the fun things you can do with HOKUTO style, you can literally run around curing illness in people with acupuncture and bartending with martial arts.
You'll probably get sick of hearing HOKUTO HOKUTO HOKUTO HOKUTO HOKUTO YAKU BI RENGAN
People just have to cry to RGG to release it on PC.
Real yakuza fans are on playstation anyway
Someone pls confirm is U WA SHOCK in the game
>nobody posts for several minutes
>dead silent
>suddenly everybody posts all at once
What is this phenomenon?
>thread slowly slipping lower in the catalog
>someone posts
>it gets a boost
>bunch of autists see the thread and start participating
Are you new? Do you not know how this site works?
I wish they would do a game like this but with JoJo. Part 4 would be a good setting for it.
The problem is after part 3, stand battles became less about beating in the other guy's face and more about figuring out how the enemy stand works and sometimes simply finding its user. That's why the Capcom Part 5 game works, it's half-puzzle adventure, half-brawler.
Plus the previous beat-em-up JoJo game we got was pretty bad
Didn't that come out after the Part 5 game?
Yes, it was a tie-in to the Part 1 film that never got a home release
yeah well
>ROOOOOSH OF LOOOVEEE
What did he mean by this? (unironically)
He wanted everybody to say ROUUUUDJE OF ULOOOVEE
Almost done platinuming Kiwami 2. I'm legit scared to start Yakuza 3 due to all the horror stories I've heard about Pool, and some of the other minigames. I'm not just going to stop platinuming the games though, I've already platinumed three in a row.
Do you see mahjong tiles in your sleep yet
Mahjong is baby shit. I'm scared of Yakuza 3 Pool and Darts mostly. Haruka's request in Kiwami where you have to beat the expert rotation guy already had me pulling my hair out and I know the Yakuza 3 pool AI is even more fricked.
If you don't feel like killing yourself at any point during your playthrough can you say you even experienced the game to its fullest?
>platinuming yakuza games
t. pleb
Found out that Onomichi is real. What does this mean for Yuta?
I know a lot of people don't like Yakuza 7 thanks to the change in genre I really don't mind the turn based combat I just hope they balance it better for Yakuza 8. There are so many jobs and abilities that are practically worthless and debuffs and status ailments are absolutely worthless and you're always better off just spamming your highest damage attacks.
Just shoot everyone with machine gun
Is there anything more cozy than playing Yakuza 5 while talking to you guys?
the only problem with the game is if you played the yakuza games on pc, you will not be able to deal with how slow and unstable the ps4 is compared to the others.
not true
unless you have a ps4 pro, the ps4 is slow as frick and unstable framerate. even gundam battle operation 2 plays better on pc (but still shit)
wrong
I played both judgement and lost judgement on my old PS4 (cause I thought they would never ever come to PC, frick me). They ran fine. There were very few scenes where it dipped, but it was a pretty rare occurrence. Besides, the remasters and kiwami 1 run at 1080p60fps stable. Besides JE/LJ, only K2, 6 and 7 are 30fps.
Did you fight Judgment's Amon?
Oh yeah, right. That was pretty cancer. But it's a fairly easy Amon fight, so it was manageable.
Only Yakuza 6 runs awful on console
Stop wasting time on kusogame and start being a chad with Kenshiro
>only on ninturdo's tablet
zzzz
prove you're a real yakuza fan by posting your physical RGG collection
>b-but digital
>b-but PC
fake fan.
No thanks
I have JE and LJ on PS4. I've been building up a physical collection of some games I really like on PS4, just for my self satisfaction and to replay them. I can get K1, K2, the remasters and Y6 all for fairly cheap on PS4. Should I pull the trigger? I'm not sure I want to replay them in the future.
>fairly cheap on PS4
eh why not, just today I actually saw 0, K2, 6, and maybe another entry sitting in a sketchy arab electronics shop in my neighborhood. pretty surprising.
I was about to post my dvd boxsets of FotNS but then I saw you said RGG collection, not HnK. Either way they're all there to the right for physical releases, the rest are on pc aside from LP which I'm not 100% sure where the box is
I went digital with LJ because amazon botched my order and i really wanted to play on release.
beautiful, I would snuggle with you on your comfy bed
I've been searching for a place to play Fighting Mania, but I can't find an accurate list in America anymore.
Bruce Lee's Mad Max adventure is fun.
When will Kenzan come to the west? After begging for years we finally got Y5 and now Ishin. So?
I doubt it will. It's too old.
isn't ishin the better game anyway
It is. Anyone who says otherwise is a moron.
Nope.
it's... problematic
Haruka trains to be a prostitute in it
How is that a problem?
she is like 10
isn't Haruka like 19 or 20?
Kenzan was released before Yakuza 3 came out, it's set in the 17th century
if she was 10 in the 17th century, how can she still be 10 in 2009?
Clearly the series is ghostwritten by the people behind the Pokemon anime
Just change her to Yakuza 6 Haruka and problem solved
>it's okay for Film to portray underage prostitutes but not Video Games
just another bullet point on the list of why Video Games will never be considered art.
I didn't play the game and I don't know what you're talking about, but if she trains to be an Oiran, that's actually very different from just a run of the mill prostitute. They were more like entertainers with benefits and they would have to start training very early in their lives and they didn't go straight to serving customers as soon as they started training. They even became celebrities in their cities. It's not as fricked up as it sounds.
kek how did you acquire this knowledge without the excuse of having played kenzan?
Just an educated guess based on what I know from anime.
We might be waiting for a while considering they were talking about a Kenzan Kiwami for at least a year and a half and then suddenly sprung Ishin Kiwami on us out of nowhere when it didn't need a Kiwami at all.
Gameplay? Yes.
Story? No, not at all.
Characters? Absolutely not.
Side content? Eh, Kenzan probably beats out Ishin in that respect.
Music? Yes.
Areas? No, it's a tie, both have great areas.
Amon? No.
Ultimate Missions? No, Kenzan is the only game where you can play as bosses.
Akagi won.
this looks cooler
also nintendo toys are literally for kids
>nintendo toys are literally for kids
But there is no games for kids on it like Cod and gta5
Did anyone complete the UFO sightings in Yakuza 6?
HUH
You can spot UFOs in both Onomichi and Kamurocho with the UFO finder
only works in Premium Adventure, post-story
Are there any other weird easter eggs in the franchise I wasn't aware of?
I'm trying to think of some more obscure ones but it's kinda hard to.
6 is also the only game to have a PA-exclusive karaoke song called Hands.
If you are playing the English dub the English substory in 7 is treated a bit differently.
FotNS has a substory and optional boss only in Endless Eden but most people probably know that.
The zombie spawn points during 0's Miracle substory on Tenkaichi are 1:1 in the same areas and animated the same way as when they spawn on you in Dead Souls including the crawling and jumping animations.
In the Black Panther games when you do part-time jobs Akiyama is in most of them.
Majima trains against Fei Hu in 0 to learn Tennen Rishin (Main moveset used by most bosses in Ishin) by fighting against Fei Hu who is using Okita's (Ishin Majima's) moveset to teach Majima. Then when you get Tennen Rishin you get to use I think either Nagakura (Ishin Saejima) or Hijikata (Ishin Mine)'s basic combo chain.
Captain Cop's transformation item is a knockoff of Ultraman's toy while using I think Kamen Rider V3's transformation pose. It's also a dual-layered joke because Kaito steals stuff in Kamen Rider Decade.
Yes, she's basically a glorified waitress but the game itself doesn't really explain this at all unless you immerse yourself into the game's dictionary/glossary or already know the history of that period. I only understood she was a waitress when someone here corrected me years ago.

The first cutscenes of the game also don't really help things out if you don't know the context. Just watch for like three minutes or so.
I think if an English release happened it would be much easier to work around this because they could force the "Kamuro" definition to pop up for a few seconds after it is first mentioned in-game before you could go to the next text box and it would clear up a lot of issues it could potentially cause since I seem to recall it happening fairly early on.
Souten no Ken would be perfect as its dealing with chinese and european mafia over opium
I 100% it, which I didn't do with any of the Yakuza games (tbf, mostly because some of the side missions are just bullshit random difficulty spikes). So far it's great, obviously done on a low budget and on a PS3, I think only the west got a PS4 release, the game is a PS3 title in Japan.
>obviously done on a low budget
Literally every game in the series is a budget title, this is a AA franchise.
>the game is a PS3 title in Japan.
No, it's not, and if you think regular Yakuza games have bullshit random difficulty spikes then I know you didn't 100% FotNS because Death Batting exists, DT grinding takes dozens upon dozens of hours, the Mysterious Masters can two-shot you when you grind them, Amon literally one-shots you in phase 3 and bypasses all your blocks because he has Rei's and Shin's ability to ignore it, grinding for points for the coliseum requires you stunlock a boss or he can kill you in like three hits, Doctor Kenshiro is a mess where you basically have to play perfect songs, and more.
PA only thing with no substory. You can buy an accessory called the "UFO Finder" or something like that from Don Quijote or Ebisu in Kamurocho, I forgot which. There's one in Kamurocho and one in Onomichi.
I wish it was on Steam.
It's the best Yakuza engine game next to Judgement and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
FotNS runs on the old Yakuza 5 engine. Judgment runs on Dragon Engine.
Sorry I should have said Yakuza type game. Point is Yakuza itsself is for a very specific group of people the devs are moving away from and FOTNS and Judgement both seem like much more honest attempts at making a game.
Why does the dance mini-game in Lost Judgment suck so much compared to the one in Yakuza 5?
because Yagami is not Haruka
Said no one ever
I'm going to post this here because as far as I can tell there's no Yakuza thread up. Someone redpill me on the Yakuza remasters. Did they do a good job or is shit censored?
They're made unintentionally harder because enemies now block more in 3's remaster than they used to.
They are fine for the most part but uncapping the framerate broke some stuff, they never fixed.
What stuff did the framerate break?
They have some censorship but you can mod it out

60 FPS breaks all the games and it was never fixed on console or PC. PC had a couple things fixed for 5R but they were exclusive to the PC version and that's it.
>It causes pool across all the games to add a spin to balls randomly if you hit hard which isn't intentional (PC can play on controller and disable the Y axis completely which fixes it).
>Bowling is completely broken and the physics aren't correct at all leading to pins being like brick walls that don't fall down and there's no fix.
>Quicksteps are broken in 3R on all versions with PS4 having it too short and PC/Xbone having it too long, or it might have been the reverse. PC can mod this at least.
>Enemies with guns do not fire properly whatsoever (Webm related). They either don't fire or do double shots randomly which means shotgunnrs can technically one-shot you without any way to react to it if you're near them when they manage to double shot you.
>Heat Action timings are broken and it's really noticeable when going for 100% completion in 3R because Tag Team ones have a quarter of a second reaction time when they're supposed to be like a second or do.
I'll get to the actual changes in a minute since I'm running out of room.
I assume of the issues is the forklift section which I had to do a silly strat to win the ultimate battle for
Do you know why setting the FPS to 30 in the options doesn't change anything?
All the games have changed hostesses because of licensing issues and there's no mod to revert them. One guy was apparently working on restoring 3's hostesses but I don't thing that ever manifested itself. This also leads to continuity issues because they reuse hostesses from K1 and I think K2 but they don't recognize Kiryu.
All the Japanese versions have Answerxanswer removed making them objectively the worst versions in Japan since all they do is remove content. That's on top of the censorship across the games.
>3R (Objectively the best English version, JP PS3 is still the best version overall)
Retranslates the game and undoes some of the censorship they had in the PS3 version.
Adds back like 20+ substories, multiple minigames, all the hostess dialogue, and stuff that was locked to pre-order DLC on the PS3 version.
Cuts out Michiru's substories and Mack's perfect shot because of it so it's a plot point that is never closed in the remaster. Minor, but still. Michiru is found in the Ultimate Missions where you can beat the hell out of him though so I don't get it.
Changes the Tamashiro crest to a different one because of the rising sun.
Makes Mine a bit more gay in some of the lines he says at the end of the game for whatever reason.
>4R
Censors Akiyama's rape joke in English dialogue only.
Changes Tanimura completely because of the scandal that surrounded his actor after 5 came out. Both his VA and character model are changed.
I think they censored a PA outfit as well.
>5R
Full on retranslation of the game despite it being the same team retranslating it. From the few people who have compared a couple lines it seems worse because they add in a Kenzan reference that never existed in the Japanese dialogue and Baba says "Only children believe in dragons" when the line is something like "Let's go" or "Here I come".
Saejima's police outfit got censored.
PC can fix all the visual and dialogue censorship but can't revert hostesses yet.
God damn, so what's the correct way to play these now? PC Remasters with mods?
JP PS3 3 if you understand Japanese, otherwise hacked PS4 or PC. The loss of Michiru, the 60 FPS issues, and the hostess changes do not overshadow all the restored content and removal of some censorship.
JP PS3 4 if you understand Japanese, otherwise PC. I don't know if hacked PS4s can use the Tanimura restoration but if they can then PC and hacked PS4. Honestly, 4 vs. 4R is just up to if you are fine with the hostess changes and 60 FPS issues. If you are then 4R, if you aren't then 4.
PS3 5 but emulated to iron out the framerate issues in Saejima's first chapter. I don't believe 5 had Answerxanswer in Japan. The only thing PS3 5 is lacking is translated coliseum names and some very minor UI translations for shogi and pachinko which are negligible. They didn't fix any issues in 5R like being unable to make clear data in Premium Adventure so 5R isn't in any way better than 5. It's arguably worse than 5.
Shinada forklift section is a problem across all versions as far as I've heard, I haven't personally played 5R yet but I've see how broken it is through videos. I don't know why the 30 limit doesn't work either since it does in K2 if I remember right.
>play Yakuza for karaoke
>Judgment has no karaoke
why
Probably a contractual restriction
Can't have Kimutaku sing for free
>free
voice actors get paid
I know she's a divisive character, but... would you?
Maybe in the epilogue but she still kept her fat face even after becoming skinny for some reason
I LOVE Hana-chan!
Play a REAL Fist of the North Star game.
