fix FF8 from a flawed but still respectable game to a Square soft masterpiece
>remove the junction system and bring back MP no reason to change a system that works
> make it so you can learn all your spells from your GFs
>no level scaling it sucked in elder scrolls oblivion and it sucked in FF8
>remove the limit break spam, it dosent work the developers intended you can easily bring back squall and have him in low hp to spam Limit break
>remove rinoa no one wants a b***h with daddy issues replace her with a female that isnt shit
>make seifer the final villian they fricked him when it original seemed planned he would be the final villian but changed it at the last second
They lost me at the whole we grew up together and totally forgot but we ended up together again thing
It was fate
GFs, bozo
>remove Rinoa
It was the GF's you fricking homosexual, pay better attention to the story next time!
It seems more valid now, considering you can't even remember the plot properly.
In the Japanese version it's more heavily foreshadowed to be fair.
>Turn it into FF6
Unironically? I agree. 6>8. That's not saying much, but it's better than what we got.
FF8 doesn't need to be fixed, it needs to be forgotten.
It's pretty soulful when it's not moronic, Square games lost this soul after Square enix, games like this should be saved
the junction system
how do you gain stats then? leveling up actually hurts you thanks to enemy scaling
>>no level scaling it sucked
wouldn't have sucked nearly as much if it wasn't for HP and damage caps
>copium post from a smoothbrain that got filtered by the junction system
Every single time.
Stop clinging to fricking awful mechanics. The junction system was dogshit and blatantly unfinished content. It wasn't even complex just tedious menu delving back and forth.
>fix FF8 from a flawed but still respectable game to a Square soft masterpiece
Okay, let's see what you've go-
>remove the junction system
Into the fricking trash it goes
oh yes remove all the things that make it unique and make it just another run of the mill cookie cutter boring jrpg just like FF9.
the junction system
Stop reading here, another casual filtered FF8 thread
My main issue with junctions is they punish you for using magic in battle.
I only relied on basic attacks, limit breaks, and summons because of that.
Nah it doesn't need that much
>Fix the translation
I played it in Japanese last year and most of the flavour text is entirely different. Especially the lore and worldbuilding
>Rebalance the level scaling
I think there's something off about how it calculated the levels for enemies. Whatever it is it feels like it needs to be tied directly to the player characters level, not the average level of the party or all characters
>Fix the pacing in disc 2
It's a bit of a slog in the middle
>>Fix the pacing in disc 2
I have played a lot of Disc 2 today for the first time and I think it's paced pretty well, I just reached the Raijin and Fujin boss fight imo so far it's way better than Disc 1.
Honestly I think everything from the start of the prison to discovering Delphine in Fisherman's Horizon needs a good 40% content cut 2bh
*Selphie
Can you give a reason as to why? I thought it was fine the way it was.
wtf how does clean air come out of the filter if all the incoming dirty air is trapped in it?
I twas and is an interesting game.
ff8 is already a masterpiece though
Does the Steam version have cheats like 99 of every magic spell? I'd like to play through the story again but don't want to grind magic. No, I'm not using the card game either.
I believe it does, but if it doesn't there is a very easy to use save editor that would allow you to give yourself 99 of every magic as well.
the only thing i don't like is the level scaling/stat-up stuff. if the most efficient gameplay is to avoid all combat for 40 hours and use no encounters, that's just stupid and not fun.
>that's just stupid and not fun.
then don't do it.
W-what does the GF command do?
It makes you forget.
I actually like the FF8 Remaster. Only dislike Squall's KH look, which is a big deal since he's the MC.
