They're compatible with most games and they're cheap. I don't think you can update the firmware but it doesn't really matter. It beats paying $130 for an ED x5 at least.

Can't say myself, but I personally don't buy chinkshit.

Yeah, i think some games like Banjo Tooie or DK64 need "cracked" versions to work, and some like No Mercy wouldn't load, but they work fine.

There's a project for a custom fw that works on all carts (including the ed64+ clones), forgot the name but its supposed to be much better than the stock firmware.

I wouldn't say its better but it has some options that the stock firmware doesn't. Here is a link: https://github.com/parasyte/alt64

that one is outdated, i was looking for it and i think its this one:
          https://github.com/Polprzewodnikowy/N64FlashcartMenu
          looks really promising

          Mupen64Plus-Next (2.6 Vulkan 9dd7459), yes thruogh RetroArch

on the input menu of retroarch theres an analogue sensitivity option, try messing around with it.
If it doesn't work try the ares emulator, its heavier on resources but its more accurate than mupen64plus iirc.

            >analogue sensitivity option
In the core or in retroarch itself?
I tried in the core and the issue persisted and if I mess with the retroarch settings it'll change it universally across all of my emulators

They play like 99% of the games, the design is just a copy of the original ED64.

Im trying to play Mario 64 through Mupen64 and he's only walking instead of running. It's like the emulator only recognizes 50% of my control stick. Does anyone know how the frick I can fix this? Everything else works perfectly fine but this is so frustrating. Using a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.

Sounds like a deadzone issue to me, you will probably need to turn the deadzone amount down by a good bit.

Tried turning it down to zero and all the way up to 30 and it played exactly the same

        retroarch itself

That might frick up the control for my other games though, right?

Yeah, how many analog games you play with retroarch anyways?
You could also try calibrating the sticks with the windows' controller tools on the devices and printers menu.

Good point honestly. The tradeoff is probably worth it. I'll report back with the results

Quick google search shows that the Switch Pro controller is just ass with retroarch and has a million problems with it.
Either run through all the suggestions on the subreddit:
            https://www.reddit.com/r/RetroArch/search/?q=Nintendo+Switch+Pro+Controller&type=link&cId=cdf0e3a5-79ea-4760-adde-4c31316e10ae&iId=42d085b2-34b2-4805-8b34-b18225bd57c3

or use a different controller actually designed for computers like a $20 xbox controller instead of trying to fight Nintendos moron design decisions for 5 hours.

Wait, I fricking fixed it. Turns out when you change the sensitivity you need to relaunch. Not with remapping the buttons though for some reason so I thought it just didnt work. Turned it up to 150 and it worked. Thanks bros. One of the links in the reddit post said to relaunch.
