Its pretty obvious why the game wasn't a success outside of Japan, but why did it flop in Japan?
Sega had sold probably something between 4,5 to 5 million Saturn's in Japan by the time of its released yet it didn't even manage to sell a 100K.

Obviously everyone could see the writing on the wall by 1998 about the Saturn's future, but at the time of Saga's released it was probably one of the best looking 3D Games on the console market.

I'm actually playing this right now. I put it down ages ago and I'm just now getting back in. On disc 2, in the Uru ruins where you're supposed to find the protect keys. It's such a slog.
That's the only bad section of the game, not as bad a second time thru but not great even when you know what to do.
