To this day i can't believe Hitokiri and Jormungander exist. They feel like shit, look like shit and play like shit.
Hitokiri might as well not exist, all it has are annoying variable heavies. And jorm is an abomination of a hero, both in looks, lore and playstyle.

Hybrid characters should count as both of the character types they hybridize for the sake of order completion. 14 million "hybrids" in this game and I can't touch any of them if I want to get the monie to buy more characters (who will probably be hybrids)

Main issue with Kensei is his utter lack of neutral pressure, other than that yeah he's a well balanced hero.
I get its supposed to simulate how he's the heaviest armored samurai but cmon if they can buff highlander's speed then Kensei's too shouldn't be an issue.
Me personally, he's why I got into For Honor and have been samurai loyal for nearly the entire game's lifespan.

Kensei just raising the sword over his head, taking proper form and hitting them with a great big overhead slash that sends them to the floor in a heap. Its over in like 3 seconds total. I have a thing for quick efficient executions.
Bonus points for a nice *click* when he readies the strike.

Realistically, your option is to just make a Ganker thread whenever you feel like talking about it. In theory you could make a thread here called "First/Third Person multiplayer melee games" or something and try to collect Chivalry/Mordhau/Warhaven/For Honor players, but it would either immediately die or just become a For Honor thread. The game's just got a way bigger presence than other games in any category you want to lump it in. There used to be Chivalry and Mordhau threads up but I guess they passed the point of no return at some point. Warhaven, as far as I know, literally had one thread before disappearing.

The update is a complete failure. Shinobi is now S+ with Tiandi and Shugoki. Medjay is now S++. Zanhu is also most likely S tier as well. BP's bash is now completely useless as long you dodge on his dodge forward animation. Nothing got solved, the game is even worse to play now. Gotta give it to the fat moron. First the guard dodge removal now this.

Orochi can't dodge cancel a missed bash anymore, that was removed a while a go which is what makes it weirder than Tiandi and Zhanhu still have theirs.

however, most of that shit it is at least theoretically possible to dodge / avoid
but Oathbreaker is just a thing that BP decides to do to you, and you have no agency against it
even with shit like Fear Itself, you can at least try to outlast its duration by going on the defensive till they run out of stamina or feed you revenge a second time
Oathbreaker is just free, and you can't really frick it up unless the enemy is just so much better than you that they can countergank for its entire duration and get revenge again
What makes Oathbreaker annoying is that it doesn't just shield strip you it's a debuff that prevents you from getting shields while its up. You can just put it on an enemy that's about to get revenge and just wail on them no issue, you don't even have to care about the initial revenge activation parry because they'd be at a disadvantage if they capitlized on it.
I didn't even realize Oathbreaker also prevented you from getting new shields, what the frick

Hybrid. Feintable bash, displacement "mechanic", hyperarmor, enhanced lights, crushing counter backstep lights, recovery cancels and very strong damage feats. There. That's all they know to do now. Overtunned heroes with constant "50/50" spam because that's "meta"

fighting "experienced" players is just a staring contest because they KNOW they can just react to anything you open with that isn't a light, and even then they can often just parry your neutral lights anyway
so it's just them staring at you and slowly chipping you down with light damage from a fast bash opener

I never felt so cozy in my life, although it sucks that I can't light parry react and block with that lame ass 60 hz compared to my other 240 hz gaming , but man, I feel spoiled as hell to play for honor on the steam deck.

People just sit there and wait for me to kill myself because they aren't threatened by anything I can do. What's so good about her?

Just feint or soft feint into fullblock, you can't dodge the heavy at the same timing as the sweep or the side lights.

The recovery on the bash is quick, so what's probably happening is that they pre-emptively dodge the moment they see you go into full guard and you go for a quick bash instead of holding or canceling it. The bash itself is 400ms so nobody is reacting to it.

Because Valkyrie has strong defense and counter attacking capability so they're taking it slow initially to get a sense of how you play and then you destruct by being too predictable.

It's a high fantasy design for sure, but its more in line with shit from myth like Sir Galahad than fantasy tabletop settings.

if there were ever FH2, the first major change should largely be centered around feats
because cooldownshit is just so boring, I'd rather replace it with adrenaline or fighting game super meter that rewards you for being active in fights
