I didn't even realize she was a companion. I kind of accidentally speedran her quest. I was a Paladin so I instantly killed the Oathbreaker and his party, went to her and said oh yeah he's dead btw and she was like ok cool im gonna leave I didn't even get to ask her much so IDK anything about her
NTA but found this by searching "Karlach" "too pretty" on google. >https://www.reddit.com/r/BaldursGate3/comments/14ou358/love_karlach_from_ea_3yrs_ago_but_this_literal/
I'm guessing her quest will be about getting rid of her corruption with the eyes on her arms.
Is this a known affliction in DND or did Larian just invented some random curse?
I wonder if the flags for that count as an environmental kill rather than a player kill so it doesn't trigger it.
You can't prove he wasn't going to fall into the lava in the first place.
I'll be interested in seeing if they include 4th && 5th level ranger/paladin spells specifically for Bards to grab via magic secrets.
If you can grab Swift Quiver as a 10th level bard then a Valour bard suddenly becomes a viable martial.
Otherwise, yeah. They're literally the lowest DPS, no matter how you build them.
This relates specifically to tabletop for their versatility. Lore Bards have all the skills, expertise, can give inspiration like candy at 5th, can grab any two spells they want at 6th, and can instantly debuff enemies with cutting words (-1dx as a reaction on atks/skills/initiative/etc). Hell in BG3 that cutting words works on SAVES too, which is NOT RAW. No idea if it's a bug or intended, but that is pretty strong.
Sadly, that's tabletop. In a structured video game where DPS is king and versatility isn't as important, the Bard falls down a few tiers in power rating. Same with Wizard since things like Ritual Casting aren't in.
Meanwhile a Sorc at 5th can just spam Twin Haste or launch three fireballs a combat and will always be a 10/10 SSS contributor to the party.
>On the other hand the act of procreation, being of a will and desire shared and indeed controlled by the fëa, was achieved at the speed of other conscious and willful acts of delight or of making. It was one of the acts of chief delight, in process and in memory, in an Elvish life, but its intensity alone provided its importance, not its time or length: it could not have been endured for a great length of time, without disastrous “expense”.
... >But the act of procreation not being one of growth until the union of the seed and being under full control of the will does not take long -- though it is longer and of more intense delight in Elves than in Men: too intense to be long endured.

No one. He joined in 2016 when the writing on OS2 was already finished. The guy was a senior editor and reviewer at GameSpot, and had little writing credentials, so obviously he's not going to get any serious work right off the bat. I'm pretty sure the only reason he got hired at all is because he wrote a glowing review for OS1 when he still worked at gamespot.
Weird then that they gave him an entire origin character. If I was Swen I would just stick him on flavor text duty. I guess he really wants to secure those journalist connections. Fair I guess
Well, that's disappointing... This guy's whole identity is "lgbt". I seriously doubt his ability to write.

HIV weakens the immune system to the point where it can't fight off infections, resulting in AIDS. Autoimmune diseases make the immune system go haywire and start attacking healthy cells.
And you wouldn't go to a rheumatologist for HIV/AIDS regardless, since it doesn't cause joint inflammation.

The disgusting part about this screenshot is that whoever got that ending slide actively pursued a threesome romance with them.

Totally, almost all of my experience is in 2e with 2e players. We moved to 5e but probably subconsciously keep certain things like 2e.
I wish there was a way to have her without killing the tieflings. The majority of Zevlor's people are genuinely nice to you.
Killing the druids should be enough. They're dicks to you from the start except for that one guy. Even Halsin's apprentice tries to fricking poison you when you ask her for help and Halsin himself will just handwave the grove being purged as long as you side with the tieflings to do it and not the goblins.
Hell give me the option to warn them about the secret tunnel you deactivated the traps in that you lead Sazza through so they can frick off and get past the Goblin fortress while you and the goblins are busy butchering druids who hate them anyway.
Some anon explained in the other thread
The models were ripped from the game, but the game models use like 9 different texture masks to create the ingame shaders and it's really hard to make the models look like the ingame characters in blender
So creators have been having to create their own models to try and replicate the in game look
Also, BG3 and Larian is somewhat niche
Drow don't consider Drow "Elves". They make a very clear distinction between themselves and "Surface-Elves" and the two despise each other. Even the elven Pantheon has an almost universal hate for the Drow pantheon and the opposite holds true. Only one Drow diety got to stay with the surface elf gods when Lolth and friends went full moron.
>keeps to himself but always has your back >prays a dwarven god, is a hard working and collected person >wants to genocide demihumans which is an objectively the correct course of things >his personal quest is to literally cheer him up and it's one of the chillest quests in the game >the game actually explains why there's a black man so far up north
they also explain why Seelah is that far north, and I still found her annoying
they tried too hard with her, Ekundayo worked because he's basically fantasy Punisher
no need for complex motivations or witty quips to trying to hard to be funny, Ekun is just there to slaughter Evil and lets you know it
im getting a feeling BG3 is going to be a scam game like Gollum.
its pretty much just a character creator tool, and then you watch cutscenes with some really bad writing.

How does the "Early Access plays full version early"-thing work? As long as we already have it, we get to play late July? So people who buy "early access"/pre-order during that in-between time don't get access, or do they immediatleiy get access?
So how do Drow deal with being pregnant? They can't do as much physical stuff right? What's stopping the men doing a get everyone pregnant and then rebel thing.
I think their god makes them more powerful or something while they are prego. That was old lore though, when they tried to explain how a super murder society would be able to maintain its population.

Can you get the hair style in game or is that modded? I actually bought the game a while back and wanted to try it out with mods to make shit look better but couldn't get it to work so I just refunded the game.
That is simply not true. >Karlach will be a tank >Lae'zel is a tank >Shadowheart can be an offtank >Astarion can be pretty tanky if you make him into Arcane Trickster.
You're leading people astray with this image
Never take Bladeward, it's a noob trap
D&D doesn't really have a tank class, does it? Anyone with high hp and heavy armor should be fine.
Tanking really does require a 'forced' to hit them mechanic. There aren't many in BG3 that I can think of (compelled duel for example, isn't in game, but even if it was it's not practical to cast that on every enemy every fight). Otherwise enemies literally just walk around them and then slap your mage in the face, or shoot them full of arrows.
D&D is kind of unique in that instead of a tank character, all of your party should be built Mainstat 16/DEX 16/CON 16. Only if Mainstat is DEX can you then branch and do maybe Wis or Cha or something.
You've got much better uses of your actions. Like attacking and killing (completely negate the damage)
If you're in such a bad situation that you want the resistance against multiple attacks, you're probably better off just running/repositioning.
It's a turn tax, essentially. Always better to be dealing damage/CC over 'I use my action to possibly take slightly less damage'
Cause remember too: What if they miss? You just completely wasted your turn.
Pal 2 into bard is good? I used to like the Bard/fighter/RRD builds in NWN2
Yes, any CHA class meshes well with Paladin since the big feature is divine smite. Since you'll have way more spell slots, you'll be able to spam those smites.
paladin and barbarian have tank mechanics for some of their specs - abilities that force enemies to attack you or punish them for attacking anyone else in your party
The AI usually prioritises whoever in your party they have the highest change to hit, which is usually your wizard.
In my playthrough of the EA the AI would cast sleep or silence on Gale constantly if I didn't have someone drawing aggro.

so if I wanted to take some paladin levels how is it typically done? Isn't Sorc already behind on CL?
is it >1 paladin level first ->11sorc >2 paladin->10 sorc >6 paladin->6 sorc
or is it some other order?
2 Paladin>rest Sorc is the standard Sorcadin but you can play around with it a bit if you want more Paladin features. 2 levels of Paladin is the bare minimum though.
mechanics bros how does shit scale in 5e? For example, if I go Path of Wild Magic Barbarian, do those spells scale off of my Barb level?
What happens if at level 8 I swap over to fighter levels for the last 5 as the class doesn't get any more features between 7-12? Do those spells I can randomly cast stay fixed as if I were a level 7 barbarian?
They aren't technically "spells," it's just magic firing out of your ass. It scales off your proficiency bonus and Constitution modifier, which are class agnostic.
You do get something at 10, though, Unstable Backlash. When you take damage or fail a saving throw while raging, you can use your reaction to reroll on the table. Barbarian itself also gets stuff at those levels: Feral Instinct, Brutal Critical, Relentless Rage, and maybe Feral Pounce if they include it (probably will).
>It scales off your proficiency bonus and Constitution modifier, which are class agnostic.
Oh ok, great, that is exactly what I wanted to know. I guess I'll also need to rethink dipping out of the class
They changed its name to Wildheart and nobody knows why. I'm serious, I have no idea why they changed it and neither does anyone I've asked.
One theory was that they were too lazy to add actual totems to the game, but that sounds moronic because I don't even remember if the class gets a literal totem or not. That's not something anyone has ever thought about, ever. Another theory, and this is me reaching far up my ass, but maybe a blue-haired landwhale informed them that "totems" are racist or something?
>WHAT THE HELL ARE CONCENTRATION SPELLS
Sorcerors of the Shore wanted to do away with the whole "Okay Aerie, you know the routine, prebuff us with 10 spells then we right click this sorry sucker" meta. Now stacking 10 buffs becomes near impossible and the rule of thumb is you only get one non-permanent concentration buff that can be interrupted >WHY THE HECK ARE MAGES WEARING ARMOR
They've trained for it (paid the price mechanically) and it's hardly >WHY DOES EVERY CLASS SEEM TO HAVE MAGIC OR "ABILITIES" THAT MIGHT AS WELL BE MAGIC
For the same reason elves all get to cast cantrips. The most bare minimum of magic like lighting a fire or conjuring magical light isn't too far-fetched if you study for it. Fightards need not apply >WHY IS INTIMIDATION LINKED TO CHARISMA AND NOT STRENTH
Meta, CHA was too weak otherwise >WHERE THE HELL DID THIS "WEAVE" LORE COME FROM
I don't know, did someone break it again
It's funny to call CHA the weakest, considering it's what causes all of the broken multiclass options. Or rather, the Paladin really.
Paladin 2 or 6/rest sorc, warlock, bard etc is the strongest combo in the game.
>WHAT THE HELL ARE CONCENTRATION SPELLS
A weak attempt to balance spellcasters. >WHY THE HECK ARE MAGES WEARING ARMOR
I don't know where you saw a mage wearing armor. Bards, Clerics, Druids and Warlocks have always worn some armor. Wizards and Sorcerers can't. Unless they're a dwarf or picked up a feat. >WHY DOES EVERY CLASS SEEM TO HAVE MAGIC OR "ABILITIES" THAT MIGHT AS WELL BE MAGIC
If you want to play a gritty, realistic game, you shouldn't be in a party with Dr. Strange. Martials are weak enough as it is, don't talk like this. >WHY IS INTIMIDATION LINKED TO CHARISMA AND NOT STRENTH
That's just a default, because the game assumes you're intimidating someone with your words, which requires Charisma. If you trip over your words or your voice cracks, well, that's going to have the opposite effect. If you tried to Intimidate someone by breaking something, that would be Strength. Will the DM/Larian follow the rules, though? >WHERE THE HELL DID THIS "WEAVE" LORE COME FROM
That's always been FR lore. >WHY ARENT KOBOLDS FOX-DOG THINGS
Modern kobolds are actually closer to the original kobolds than they've ever been. They've always had dog-like skulls, but covered in scales. In 1e, they looked more dog-like, but they were still covered in scales. Now they're much more noticeably draconic and you can only see the canine resemblance if you squint at them. But between 1e and 5e, shit was all over the place.
>WHAT THE HELL ARE CONCENTRATION SPELLS
You get to keep one of those up and if you get hit you roll CON to keep it.
So if you cast Shield of Faith, you might lose it if you get hit, or you will 100% lose it if you cast Guidance (another concentration spell) for a skill check between fights.
Do I pick Wildheart or Wild Magic? I'm starting to lean towards Wild Magic. I need something that is >fun >requires strategy >strong since I'm going hardest difficulty settings right out the gate
It's my understanding that every strong character can pick up a creature and throw it, just not at an enemy, is that true? Is the berserker throw much stronger than a regular barbarian's throw?
Without multiclassing, you can be a Forest Gnome, or you can grab Magic Initiate or Ritual Caster at level 4 instead of an ASI. Fighters get extra ASIs, so it doesn't feel as bad than if another class did it. If you grab Magic Initiate, you'll probably want to do Cleric and get Guidance and something else (Sacred Flame might suck with your WIS score); if you decide to do Bard instead you can be a memelord and get Blade Ward and True Strike, although Minor Illusion and Mage Hand are probably better. You can't get Ritual Caster unless you have a 13 in INT or WIS, but if you do, then you get a book you can jot down rituals in. You automatically get two, but once again, you have to pick a class to LARP as and stick to it. If you go Bard you can get Speak With Animals plus either Detect Magic, Identify or Unseen Servant (don't know what will be in the game yet). Later, you might find Animal Messenger, Tiny Hut or Silence. If you pick Cleric, you can pick Speak With Animals and probably Detect Magic (there's also a detect/clean poison stuff but that might not get in). Later, you might find Silence, Meld Into Stone, Water Walk and some divination spells.
I'm gonna miss comfy Swen streams honestly.
It's funny to me how he has things he wants to show off but gets distracted or fricks up and things go to hell.
Let's say this game is not only a success but an absolute massive one. What effects would this realistically have in the rpg market? More class based systems? More dnd games? BG4?
Nothing. OS2 was a huge success and didn't really change shit, all the competition still doesn't have co-op and still design worlds full of filler fodder fights. Games are still too afraid to let you break it, whether that be stealing, killing all NPCs, bypassing whole areas with stealth or exploration etc

Games are still too afraid to let you break it, whether that be stealing, killing all NPCs, bypassing whole areas with stealth or exploration etc
That's because it's a "massive success" in it's own somewhat niche market
It's not gonna sell what a CoD (or whatever the new popular shooter is) or Bethesda release does. It's not a game changer
We're already going through renaissance of classic rpg's and bg3 will be the final touch at best.
It's quite late and designed for the most casual and normis players.
So there's a chance that it will be so popular that it will kill genre again akin to mass effect.
I'm not going to play Paladin on my first go through just because Larian made it moronic easy to break your oath. >Find goblins >They're torturing a good person, oh no >That's a smite! >YOU HAVE FALLEN
If you're not attacked first you literally just have to allow evil to continue around you which feels so... Un-paladin-like?
How do you know the tortured person is innocent and not in fact a vicious goblin genocider who is holding the goblins' families hostage? You see, the world is not all black and white
You pay money, not a good mechanic. Although I don't know what it would look like otherwise, its either easily bypassed like a persuasion check or something else inconsequential. Maybe the game could generate an event that would lead you down to an Oathbreaker path or redemption instead of just telling the guy you'll become one
>pass judgement >on goblins >an always evil creature
Back in my day you didn't have to talk to shit.
Orc? Goblin? Drow? Genocide the men women and children and it's always a good act.
I want to play a Paladin but I've heard that Larian went out of their way to frick Paladins over in this game, because apparently more than half of the decisions in the game can make you fall
>If you are scared of failing, you do not deserve to be a Paladin
I'm all about mercy, chivalry, righteousness, but I want to dick down Shadowheart, who clearly has an evil alignment. I don't see the point in being potentially punished for sticking my dick in someone of dubious morality.
Wizard casts more and can swap spells without resting, so he always has hard counters for everything
Sorc has metamagic which includes doubling any single target spell
I don't think sorc has anything nearly as broken as divination wizard's Portent, which is a straight dice manipulation though
Now, with all that being said, they left out an important aspect
Larian has decided to drop the leveled/bonus action spell limitation.
In tabletop, you can cast a single fireball (such as a wizard)
In BG3, with the fire helm equipped and three levels in Thief Rogue, you can cast Four fireballs/lightningbolts in a single turn with quicken. Nothing beats that burst baby.
Sorc 9/Thief Rogue 3.
You guys think Arcane Trickster has enough illusion/enchantment spells in full release to be good? I've never made a trickster before and I'm nervous he's gonna be gimped
Nah. I wouldn't pick one unless he had his mage hand working as intended. Which means it should be able to pickpocket and lockpick from a great distance which it can't. Probably hard for them not to make, but to design a game where you couldn't just send it ahead and lockpick all the chests and pockets then go in.
Its been that way for nearly 3 years now, its hard to say. Like you can still swap out spells without resting, and I am still not sure if that is intended. They did take like two years to remove Wizard's ability to learn Cleric/Paladin spells too
Reminder: you are not a true Male Human Fighter Sword&Board if you're not impregnating every Drow woman you see and creating more Half-Drow babies, you just aren't.
Reminder, there is a population of free-roaming Lolth-worshipping Evil humans living within Menzoberranzan who make up 1% of the population who get to pound Drow women on a regular basis.
You get three of them at level 11 every round. Damage itself doesn't increase that much, 1d10+1d6+cha. But not sure which Invocations we get, Maddening Hex etc.
Warlock is the memeing class you can take
On full release you best believe I'm planning a four warlock party, all with repelling blast.
Eternal slip and slide, forever.
I've been playing BG3 on and off for the last 3 years, this is probably on of the few games I've played in recent memory that has made me replay consistently. This game is amazing and I see myself clocking several more hundred hours on it when it releases. It's going to be over when fan made servers and dungeon maps start coming out.
Now that it's confirmed Halsin will be a romanceable companion. I'm definitely going to get with him in a following playthrough. Nevertheless, Gale is a charming man. Does he have his flaws, definitely. But I don't think he is anywhere near bad as some may say.
Gales biggest problem is that I like to play wizard in game and it’ll be hard to take him in parties. I guess there’s nothing stopping me from keeping him on the journey in camp
I guess there’s nothing stopping me from keeping him on the journey in camp.
True, although you may need to take him along in order to make some progress for his quest chain. As well as ranking up his affinity for you or else you might miss out on something or worse he'll leave.
>2 more days for the Panel from Hell >Larian says we are going to get more surprises.
I'm so fricking hyped for this game bros... haven't been this hyped in ages.
Same, not to sound pessimistic. But I hope this game does not disappoint. It hasn't let me down thus far. I just wouldn't want a debacle similar to what Cyberpunk 2077 faced. Lacking in features, bugs, what have you. Doubt that will be the case. But I am still cautious.
I don't think this is actually possible. They have proven to know what they are doing. Writing is pretty good. We already know the game mechanics and they are good.

I can relate. What worries me most is that they said last origin character. It's been debated whether or not that means last companion in general or simply the last companion who is an origin. I hope it's the latter at least. There are a few other characters that I would like to be at least temporary companions. Such as Alfira, Barcus Wroot, and Zevlor to name a few.
Well I liked him the most, by far
Kino questline too, gassing the elves, NWF the red princess, fighting the dwarf queen, making friends with the homie prince
Yeah. She's a Neutral Good Drow Paladin of Forgiveness. Just like my Lich in Wrath of the Righteous. My "Ends justify" the means Lich who turns to Lichdom for the greater good. Lawful Neutral of course.

we have enough of those already
>wants a generic trope character
Ok, then what about a Chaotic Good Tiefling who everyone judges by appearance and discriminates against, but is in reality a creative woman who values freedom and has a heart of gold?
I wouldn't be surprised if Edwin makes an appearance. He was described to have possessed the body of a wizard named Larroakan and is currently inhabiting Ramazith's Tower. A wizard of the same name was mentioned by a soon to be student at the Druid's Grove.
Yeah, that's why I mean it. Larian loves their silly comedy and getting Edwin in the game would be the most acceptable way to pull that sort of writing.

gotta make a short female character that "accidently" wanders into Elf village
>futa gf
I didn't even realize she was a companion. I kind of accidentally speedran her quest. I was a Paladin so I instantly killed the Oathbreaker and his party, went to her and said oh yeah he's dead btw and she was like ok cool im gonna leave I didn't even get to ask her much so IDK anything about her
I had no idea that paladins could sence oathbreakers. I wonder how will this affect people that end up playing as oathbreakers themselves.
Hopefully attacked on sight by Paladins in Baldurs Gate areas and adventurer parties
probably similar to how drows and tieflings are treated
with open and loving arms, don't be a bigot anon
Wasn’t it the lie you sense rather than the oathbreaking itself?
Oh, i guess that makes more sense. Especially if you're the oath that breaks when you lie.
Remember that this is making people seethe. She's too pretty now and they want her to be more ugly to be lore friendly.
too late now lmao
Larian has bent before. You never know.
they made her ugly then they made her cute, all will bow before Swen's horny ways
>She's too pretty now and they want her to be more ugly to be lore friendly.

NTA but found this by searching "Karlach" "too pretty" on google.

poor karlach
She immediately struck me as best girl but I will see how it plays out
I'm guessing her quest will be about getting rid of her corruption with the eyes on her arms.
Is this a known affliction in DND or did Larian just invented some random curse?
Wasn't her having that extremely scarred body enough?
A cap from shitera said her face is too pretty.
I am going to rub my cum into those burn scars
>Karlach
you misspelled Shadowheart
>shadowheart
What kind of chuuni name is that?
I’m making an evil drow wizard who will be tempted to do good by Halsin. And no one can stop me

You will never be a hero.
I did a devotion run and got away with punting manlets into lava without provocation.
I wonder if the flags for that count as an environmental kill rather than a player kill so it doesn't trigger it.
You can't prove he wasn't going to fall into the lava in the first place.
That's a man.
Paladin looks like a complete gish in 5e. Do you get any way to quicken?
If you multiclass with Sorcerer yeah
>cute
I personally prefer cute human noble women, but a half-elf will have to suffice.
Daily reminder this is the only guide you will need to build your character.
>most replayed is bard
I wonder why people think Bard is a DPS class when they have always been utility class.
Why do people say they're so busted? And which sublass are they talking about specifically?
Meanwhile a Sorc at 5th can just spam Twin Haste or launch three fireballs a combat and will always be a 10/10 SSS contributor to the party.
>like Ritual Casting aren't in.
Ritual casting is in actually

>On the other hand the act of procreation, being of a will and desire shared and indeed controlled by the fëa, was achieved at the speed of other conscious and willful acts of delight or of making. It was one of the acts of chief delight, in process and in memory, in an Elvish life, but its intensity alone provided its importance, not its time or length: it could not have been endured for a great length of time, without disastrous “expense”.
...
>But the act of procreation not being one of growth until the union of the seed and being under full control of the will does not take long -- though it is longer and of more intense delight in Elves than in Men: too intense to be long endured.

dam is that the reason why divinity 1 was cool and i never clicked with 2?
>Weird then that they gave him an entire origin character
Which one?
Laezel
Well, that's disappointing... This guy's whole identity is "lgbt". I seriously doubt his ability to write.
Oh he also wrote Wyll and Kagha tho shes not an origin

Only one stepped removed from actual homosexualry
I would take actual homosexualry over him tbh
Gaider was still a good writer even when writing his husbandos straight into the game
That's because the prevalent attitude wasn't encouraging towards it.
When forced not to pozz all-over his work Gaider could do great things
This c**t however is a perfect example of the breed. He was a gaming journo, which is a failed actual journo, which is a failed english major. He's on the low totem pole of a pole deeply submerged bellow sea level.
Hos qualifications is having contacts and spouting the acceptable agiprop
reminder it's Gaider's fault we will never have short-race romances in CRPGs
Gaider was hyper-aware of the correlation between homosexuality and sodomy and like a smart 90s gay marriage activist tried to distance himself as far as possible from it no matter how stupid it looks to us
gays won rights in america because they (on the surface) tried to appear normal and just like you. Now the current LGBTQ movement is shitting all over it and its backfiring hilariously

>autoimmune diseases
rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disorder, yes
explain, doctor
HIV weakens the immune system to the point where it can't fight off infections, resulting in AIDS. Autoimmune diseases make the immune system go haywire and start attacking healthy cells.
And you wouldn't go to a rheumatologist for HIV/AIDS regardless, since it doesn't cause joint inflammation.
damn....
someone call the Army and get their supply then, I want this VanOrd homosexual off the writing team
HIV/AIDS isn't an autoimmune disease, dummy
If I was to make a guess he's probably developed osteoarthritis in his knees due to a severe food addiction.
who did he write in 2?
All the gays probably
So.....nobody?
Wasn't there at least one gay couple in DOS2?
Man, hindsight is 20/20
Even Larian games weren't pozzed once upon a time
There's one more gay couple in DOS2 than in BG3

What's with that hairstyle? It's like a bad attempt at a himecut
The hair is nice, it just doesn't suit her face. White women in general. Himecut and short hair looks great on asian women.
this game is out in September, right?
is there a full list of romanceable women out already?
August 3rd, actually. So far there is Shadowheart, Lae'zel, Karlach, and Minthara.
cool
>So far there is Shadowheart, Lae'zel, Karlach, and Minthara.
only know the first two, assuming they haven't changed from the initial EA release
who are Karlach and Minthara?
Karlach is a Tiefling Barbarian
Minthara is a Drow Paladin and you can only romance her/have her in your party if you join the goblins to slaughter the druid grove and refugee camp
To be good or to have a drow waifu? That is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
Through the dryness of blue/grey quim
Or to take arms against the honorable behavior

First, no it didn't. It came out in 2009. And it did because people were outraged by the radical changes brought by DnD 4th edition, which came out in 2007
Totally, almost all of my experience is in 2e with 2e players. We moved to 5e but probably subconsciously keep certain things like 2e.
she's an Oathbreaker
She's a lolthsworn b***h that betrayed based spider queen for squids and smelly evil gods. She gets the spidersilk rope.
Alignment isn't tied to class. Paladins just follow an oath. It doesn't have to be a nice oath.
Hell give me the option to warn them about the secret tunnel you deactivated the traps in that you lead Sazza through so they can frick off and get past the Goblin fortress while you and the goblins are busy butchering druids who hate them anyway.
they might have rejiggered things now that she's been promoted to party member
Why does the drow need a bunch of thieves and druids dead again? sorry I don't pay attention to plot
She's working for this "absolute"fella who is looking for a spiked d20 that shadowqt is carrying
The drow bawd seems to think the druids have it

LGBT BLM game
This month is going to be the longest month in existence.
Luckily, the month leading up to starfield is going to fly by.
am i looking in the wrong spots or is there little bg (especially shadowheart) porn online
Is this the best and only game worth playing on mac?
Will it run well on macbook air m1 base model?
...Mac?
yes
i have a pc but i also want to have at least one good on my mac avaiable to play. BG3 is one of the few games that runs native on M1.
Really debating myself whether I should go for an Absolute Evil Overlord or just a nice goody 2 shoes
Rate my party
>Oathbreaker paladin
>Cleric
>Spore druid
>Necro wizard
And everyone uses some sort of necromancy magic so I have an undead army
Spore and Necro would be competing for corpses, bit suboptimal
spore druid fixed with Larian's house rules would be cool
that is the best they got?
what are the other option?
I've seen zero reasons to be interested in BG3. Another dead franchise LOL. Good job!
This is Shadowife's VA.
Say something nice about her.
Built for Big Drow wiener
Looks like a fricking elf. Cute.
She's almost as pretty as my Shadowife.
I'll accept her hand in marriage if she agrees to dye that hair black and wear a tiara
Literally made for my Oath of Devotion Paladin (he looks he could be her brother)
Her voice was also nice in Elden Ring, the cripple bow user summon
Frog b***hes voice actor is a giga Stacy
that is one angular face for a human, how is the frog somehow softer?
Her sons will be gigachads
>british VA
>last name is literally British
BRAVO LARIAN
My yes I am a straight, white, male, human fighter. And no I will not frick you. Now stop asking and go away.
Shadowheart is canonically the child of Viconia and Human Male CHARNAME.
Then why is she a half elf and not a half drow?
>drow elves aren't REAL elves
problematic
Drow don't consider Drow "Elves". They make a very clear distinction between themselves and "Surface-Elves" and the two despise each other. Even the elven Pantheon has an almost universal hate for the Drow pantheon and the opposite holds true. Only one Drow diety got to stay with the surface elf gods when Lolth and friends went full moron.
>half-elf
YOU CAN'T SAY THAT ANYMORE WTF
shadowife gave me an H word pass
do I have to be chaotic evil to worship the spider queen?
how can I be chaotic evil without being lol randumb violence xD
Not in 5e, but I don't know about BG3. I'm not sure they're taking alignment seriously.
>when you just wanted a romantic relaxing evening with Shadowcute but she turns into a doomer and starts crying....
Many such cases
Is Shadowheart just female Harrim?
I usually don't like that token black characters, but Ekun was actually based beyond belief and my favourite companion
>keeps to himself but always has your back
>prays a dwarven god, is a hard working and collected person
>wants to genocide demihumans which is an objectively the correct course of things
>his personal quest is to literally cheer him up and it's one of the chillest quests in the game
>the game actually explains why there's a black man so far up north
they also explain why Seelah is that far north, and I still found her annoying
they tried too hard with her, Ekundayo worked because he's basically fantasy Punisher
no need for complex motivations or witty quips to trying to hard to be funny, Ekun is just there to slaughter Evil and lets you know it
I miss that tsundere doomer like you wouldn't believe.
jubilost bros.. we won
Great, now I can hold her close and tell her its okay.
For me it's cute tiefling girls
cute?
Cute
Is it worth starting now or best to wait for the full release?
EA save file doesn't work in full release, there is no point to start now unless you want to burn out on first act.
Will wait then, thanks
You can't keep progress, don't have all options, and the first act will change a little again. Wait.
im getting a feeling BG3 is going to be a scam game like Gollum.
its pretty much just a character creator tool, and then you watch cutscenes with some really bad writing.
cant wait to pirate it and have a laugh at it.
oh how the mighty have fallen.
what
Doom posters are just ironic right?
Yea, it's not like larian already made amazing rpgs before and there was a early access with great first act of the game.
Thanks for wasting ur time making another reboot for me to ignore.
>has to post modded versions to prove how supposedly attractive she is
Call me when they actually put decent sexy armour in the game and change her god awful looking hair style.
I can't wait to see this game get crucified. I hope the devs actually care so it hurts them more.
bump
Welp, finished my EA playthrough. 26h on the save 100%
they won't ever come close to the original Elf sweetheart
Aerie is incredibly annoying
I don't know, Aerie is kinda cringy the more you think about her cleric/wizard multiclass (oh so you're going to master both the divine and arcane arts) and back stumps
Aerie is the embodiment of cringe. The only thing that saves her character is that she's a bipolar schizo if you're into crazy chicks.
How does the "Early Access plays full version early"-thing work? As long as we already have it, we get to play late July? So people who buy "early access"/pre-order during that in-between time don't get access, or do they immediatleiy get access?
presumably if you buy it at any time before August 3rd, you'll get access to the "full" Act 1 that carries over to the full release
Reminder.
Modded.
So every Drow is as powerful as 1 Elf and a baby? That's like what a +1 to a stat?
Guess that's a no buy from me then.
how does this game run in a gtx 1060?
It's 'ight. You'll have to disable most shadows though
It's fine. You'll have to disable some shadows though.
It's decent. You'll have to disable some shadowheart though.
>Another CRPG with only one tank character so you're pretty much forced to bring them every playthrough
who?
Well, you should play Dragon Age Origins
It has 2 dedicated tanks, plus another 2 you can build as tanks
That is simply not true.
>Karlach will be a tank
>Lae'zel is a tank
>Shadowheart can be an offtank
>Astarion can be pretty tanky if you make him into Arcane Trickster.
You're leading people astray with this image
Never take Bladeward, it's a noob trap
Tanking really does require a 'forced' to hit them mechanic. There aren't many in BG3 that I can think of (compelled duel for example, isn't in game, but even if it was it's not practical to cast that on every enemy every fight). Otherwise enemies literally just walk around them and then slap your mage in the face, or shoot them full of arrows.
D&D is kind of unique in that instead of a tank character, all of your party should be built Mainstat 16/DEX 16/CON 16. Only if Mainstat is DEX can you then branch and do maybe Wis or Cha or something.
>Never take Bladeward, it's a noob trap
Not him but why
You've got much better uses of your actions. Like attacking and killing (completely negate the damage)
If you're in such a bad situation that you want the resistance against multiple attacks, you're probably better off just running/repositioning.
It's a turn tax, essentially. Always better to be dealing damage/CC over 'I use my action to possibly take slightly less damage'
Cause remember too: What if they miss? You just completely wasted your turn.
Yes, any CHA class meshes well with Paladin since the big feature is divine smite. Since you'll have way more spell slots, you'll be able to spam those smites.
>Lae'zel
>Karlach
>Halsin (forma oso)
>Minthara
D&D doesn't really have a tank class, does it? Anyone with high hp and heavy armor should be fine.
paladin and barbarian have tank mechanics for some of their specs - abilities that force enemies to attack you or punish them for attacking anyone else in your party
How are you going to tank anyways? The enemy ai pretty much just attacked everyone when I played.
The AI usually prioritises whoever in your party they have the highest change to hit, which is usually your wizard.
In my playthrough of the EA the AI would cast sleep or silence on Gale constantly if I didn't have someone drawing aggro.
Talk me out of buying it right now, the shill campaign is working
Pirate it. It's on GOG. If you want to support the coomers that made it, buy it afterward.
>Pirate it
That'll depend on how you answer my question
Is the coomer armors vanilla or modded?
They're datamined armors.
Some are datamined some are slightly modded.
Tweaked real armor with layers removed. This the most coomer default armor
>This the most coomer default armor
That we know of.
Can you get the hair style in game or is that modded? I actually bought the game a while back and wanted to try it out with mods to make shit look better but couldn't get it to work so I just refunded the game.
do whatever you want im not your keeper but after the 100 hours or so playing it grab it on sale or something later so Swen can make more kinos with even more highly specific fetishes
I hope there's a Tickle Torture scene in the 172 hrs of cutscenes.
>No monster girls

nope
You're mixing up games owltroony. People that romanced Camelia or Arue are the one getting cucked.

Even Team Ninja bowed to it

That's not an unfair thought process
But it's been repeatedly proven that twitter mobs matter in absolutely nothing abd catering to them will just leave you on a cycle of constant forgiveness begging
I agree; but suits are suits and there is probably a non-zero amount of people inside in the game dev room themselves that buy into that stuff.
she loves getting dicked down after murdering somebody. Which means every time you ask her to kill a random NPC, she goes to frick somebody that isn't you. And since she leaves at the end because she can't stop herself from wanting to kill you, she keeps on murdering and fricking people that aren't you.

so if I wanted to take some paladin levels how is it typically done? Isn't Sorc already behind on CL?
is it
>1 paladin level first ->11sorc
>2 paladin->10 sorc
>6 paladin->6 sorc
or is it some other order?
2 Paladin>rest Sorc is the standard Sorcadin but you can play around with it a bit if you want more Paladin features. 2 levels of Paladin is the bare minimum though.
do the advantages outweigh the loss in spell progression? I do like the idea of a gish using buffs, of course.
you're really going to be using the spell slots for smites rather than direct casting
Did Swen save C(oom)RPGs?
Unironically yes. CoomGODS always win.
should i buy this game for my PS5 or my toaster pc?
how toaster we talking?
gtx 1050
PS5 is probably the better option, if you are unwilling or unable to upgrade GPU.
mechanics bros how does shit scale in 5e?
What are you waiting for?
is Totem Warrior Barbarian just not a thing in this game? it's a default 5e specialization iirc
I'd rather have "the heart of a bear" than "a bear totem". It sounds cooler
>no war cleric
Aww
War cleric has been confirmed.
nice, I want to smite evil in the name of god but not be a massive gay about it
The frick does a battle smith do that an armorer doesn't?
Battle Smith has a robot. Armorer is Iron Man.
Damn, the whole artificer class sounds cool then
WHAT THE HELL ARE CONCENTRATION SPELLS
WHY THE HECK ARE MAGES WEARING ARMOR
WHY DOES EVERY CLASS SEEM TO HAVE MAGIC OR "ABILITIES" THAT MIGHT AS WELL BE MAGIC
WHY IS INTIMIDATION LINKED TO CHARISMA AND NOT STRENTH
WHERE THE HELL DID THIS "WEAVE" LORE COME FROM
WHY ARENT KOBOLDS FOX-DOG THINGS
Welcome my friend to 5e.
>WHAT THE HELL ARE CONCENTRATION SPELLS
Sorcerors of the Shore wanted to do away with the whole "Okay Aerie, you know the routine, prebuff us with 10 spells then we right click this sorry sucker" meta. Now stacking 10 buffs becomes near impossible and the rule of thumb is you only get one non-permanent concentration buff that can be interrupted
>WHY THE HECK ARE MAGES WEARING ARMOR
They've trained for it (paid the price mechanically) and it's hardly
>WHY DOES EVERY CLASS SEEM TO HAVE MAGIC OR "ABILITIES" THAT MIGHT AS WELL BE MAGIC
For the same reason elves all get to cast cantrips. The most bare minimum of magic like lighting a fire or conjuring magical light isn't too far-fetched if you study for it. Fightards need not apply
>WHY IS INTIMIDATION LINKED TO CHARISMA AND NOT STRENTH
Meta, CHA was too weak otherwise
>WHERE THE HELL DID THIS "WEAVE" LORE COME FROM
I don't know, did someone break it again
It's funny to call CHA the weakest, considering it's what causes all of the broken multiclass options. Or rather, the Paladin really.
Paladin 2 or 6/rest sorc, warlock, bard etc is the strongest combo in the game.
Pal 2 into bard is good? I used to like the Bard/fighter/RRD builds in NWN2
>I don't know, did someone break it again
Imagine using magic that goes offline more often than third world energy lines
this post was made by the shadow weave gang

Sword bard or Lore bard?
Do I pick Wildheart or Wild Magic? I'm starting to lean towards Wild Magic. I need something that is
>fun
>requires strategy
>strong since I'm going hardest difficulty settings right out the gate
You pick Berserker because real men pick up their enemies and toss them at other enemies, you limp-wristed poof.
It's my understanding that every strong character can pick up a creature and throw it, just not at an enemy, is that true? Is the berserker throw much stronger than a regular barbarian's throw?
It can knock people on their asses.
https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Enraged_Throw
I did it to an ogre by tossing a goblin at it with my 'zerker dwarf. It was fricking hilarious.
I'm guessing that's strong, and is viable all the way to max level or?
what spells should I be grabbing as a lore bard?
Is the drow chick still cute
How is low INT playthrough looking up lads
I want to play a Battlemaster, but I also want to speak with animals. How can I do this Ganker
Forest Gnome Battlemaster
>want to play martial but want those sweet mind reading caster options
shit feels conflicting bro
Thanks anon, appreciate it

And we haven't even had the big Panel from Hell stream for one last push.
Doomers need to regroup in their Discord.
Let's say this game is not only a success but an absolute massive one. What effects would this realistically have in the rpg market? More class based systems? More dnd games? BG4?
People will realize that romances and coombait are game sellers. Might get more tag based RPGs.
Nothing. OS2 was a huge success and didn't really change shit, all the competition still doesn't have co-op and still design worlds full of filler fodder fights. Games are still too afraid to let you break it, whether that be stealing, killing all NPCs, bypassing whole areas with stealth or exploration etc
That's because it's a "massive success" in it's own somewhat niche market
It's not gonna sell what a CoD (or whatever the new popular shooter is) or Bethesda release does. It's not a game changer
It would be interesting to see if an rpg ever does as well as Call of Duty. Yearly rpg releases maybe?
More coom-games.
We're already going through renaissance of classic rpg's and bg3 will be the final touch at best.
It's quite late and designed for the most casual and normis players.
So there's a chance that it will be so popular that it will kill genre again akin to mass effect.
Stop planning to play human male paladins
1. I thought of it before it was cool
2. Human is not even optimal
3. You will break your oath
i will be playing human ranger tho
Ok, but I will still be playing my human war cleric.
I'm not going to play Paladin on my first go through just because Larian made it moronic easy to break your oath.
>Find goblins
>They're torturing a good person, oh no
>That's a smite!
>YOU HAVE FALLEN
If you're not attacked first you literally just have to allow evil to continue around you which feels so... Un-paladin-like?
How do you know the tortured person is innocent and not in fact a vicious goblin genocider who is holding the goblins' families hostage? You see, the world is not all black and white

all they really need to do is have a redemption/repentance mechanic
That already exists
so why are people b***hing
just tell Tyr you're very sorry for killing all those goblins
You pay money, not a good mechanic. Although I don't know what it would look like otherwise, its either easily bypassed like a persuasion check or something else inconsequential. Maybe the game could generate an event that would lead you down to an Oathbreaker path or redemption instead of just telling the guy you'll become one
You have to at least speak with someone before you pass judgement moron.
Depending on your oath you might even need to give them a chance to repent.
>pass judgement
>on goblins
>an always evil creature
Back in my day you didn't have to talk to shit.
Orc? Goblin? Drow? Genocide the men women and children and it's always a good act.
Unfortunately these days, goblin genocide is considered a moral wrong.

I want to play a Paladin but I've heard that Larian went out of their way to frick Paladins over in this game, because apparently more than half of the decisions in the game can make you fall
If you are scared of failing, you do not deserve to be a Paladin
>If you are scared of failing, you do not deserve to be a Paladin
I'm all about mercy, chivalry, righteousness, but I want to dick down Shadowheart, who clearly has an evil alignment. I don't see the point in being potentially punished for sticking my dick in someone of dubious morality.
Shadowheart is Chaotic Neutral at worst Chaotic Good after you cure her chuuni tendencies
then dont fall homosexual
>not just making a comfy wizard and memeing on the entire game
how is the wizard/sorc balance in 5e? When I played Solasta there was no sorc yet
Wizard casts more and can swap spells without resting, so he always has hard counters for everything
Sorc has metamagic which includes doubling any single target spell
I don't think sorc has anything nearly as broken as divination wizard's Portent, which is a straight dice manipulation though
man, metamagic vs The Kitchen Sink is a rather hard choice. I also like CHA casters due to being the face. Tough choice
>I don't think sorc has anything nearly as broken as divination wizard
You hear a ticking clock in the distance.
It's really nowhere near that bad. Half the people who are complaining lied to somebody as an OoD paladin and then shanked them.
can't you just multiclass and then not worry about it?
Is Lunar Sorcery in?
Shadowanus
You guys think Arcane Trickster has enough illusion/enchantment spells in full release to be good? I've never made a trickster before and I'm nervous he's gonna be gimped
Nah. I wouldn't pick one unless he had his mage hand working as intended. Which means it should be able to pickpocket and lockpick from a great distance which it can't. Probably hard for them not to make, but to design a game where you couldn't just send it ahead and lockpick all the chests and pockets then go in.
But doesn't the mage hand description imply that it's just not implemented, as opposed to nerfed?
Its been that way for nearly 3 years now, its hard to say. Like you can still swap out spells without resting, and I am still not sure if that is intended. They did take like two years to remove Wizard's ability to learn Cleric/Paladin spells too

WHAT IS GOING ON
Mage is never as fun in D&D vidya as it is in tabletop.
WARLOCK thoughever...
How strong does the eldritch blast get?
You get three of them at level 11 every round. Damage itself doesn't increase that much, 1d10+1d6+cha. But not sure which Invocations we get, Maddening Hex etc.
Warlock is the memeing class you can take
On full release you best believe I'm planning a four warlock party, all with repelling blast.

Kneel to Swen.
Literally in the top 10 best selling games on steam
And that during a massive "summer sale" while being at full price.
That pretty impressive
I've been playing BG3 on and off for the last 3 years, this is probably on of the few games I've played in recent memory that has made me replay consistently. This game is amazing and I see myself clocking several more hundred hours on it when it releases. It's going to be over when fan made servers and dungeon maps start coming out.
im straight and i romanced gale. he is lovely
Based.
Gale is fine for parties without Halsin
>2 more days for the Panel from Hell

I'm so fricking hyped for this game bros... haven't been this hyped in ages.
This is my most hyped game this year, and this is quite a stacked year for exciting games.
Same, not to sound pessimistic. But I hope this game does not disappoint. It hasn't let me down thus far. I just wouldn't want a debacle similar to what Cyberpunk 2077 faced. Lacking in features, bugs, what have you. Doubt that will be the case. But I am still cautious.
worst case scenario is that Act 1 is GOTY worthy on its own and Act 2 and 3 are dogshit
I don't think this is actually possible. They have proven to know what they are doing. Writing is pretty good. We already know the game mechanics and they are good.

It's most likely going to be Helia, the halfling werewolf. She was datamined a while back.

She's going to be a hag either way
Not confirmed to be her actual model. We will see.
Bro the descriptor says a WIZENED bard
That means ugly little granny crone
plus her datamined voicelines suggests she's a gilf
Your cool datamined image also indicates that Minsc is an origin character, which obviously isn't the case. Karlach changed models like 3 different times, assuming that is Helia's finalized model is silly. It could be, but perhaps not.
>Minsc is an origin character
Originally he was going to be in development. Eventually that changed and now he is just a companion.
It would be interesting to get a proper male martial origin. All we have is squishy casters and a rogue. Female origins have more variety.
That would be nice. Although, Lae'zel is a fighter and Karlach is a Barbarian, so maybe he could be a Monk?
Yeah, we could use a monk, assuming Larian gives it some good treatment like unchained in PF.
>assuming that is Helia's finalized model is silly.
even if that isn't the final model they're going with she's still going to be an old crone eventually
Why is Minsc a origin.
Wait what
I hope they don't lock being a werewolf to this origin. I do not want to play a granny fricking midget.

Man, I sure hope not. Sorry to the shortstack-loving anon, but I hope we get something more interesting, like a dragonborn.
I kinda hope it's not her. Not because she's a granny but because the reveal won't be a reveal since we all know it.
Maybe they'll be temporary companions.
ngl this game totally stole my hype for Starfield as soon as they reverse delayed
Aye I hav a tale for ye!!!
Red Prince was the most popular Origin was he not? It's probably going to be a Dragonborn.
Well I liked him the most, by far

You've got Minthara and Karlach
Pic related is the drow companion. A tiefling companion has been confirmed a week ago
>locked to evil playthroughs

Literally what did you expect
She could be a Drow who is different from all other Drows and has run away
Yeah. She's a Neutral Good Drow Paladin of Forgiveness. Just like my Lich in Wrath of the Righteous. My "Ends justify" the means Lich who turns to Lichdom for the greater good. Lawful Neutral of course.
Ok, then what about a Chaotic Good Tiefling who everyone judges by appearance and discriminates against, but is in reality a creative woman who values freedom and has a heart of gold?
we have enough of those already

I thought she was a githyanki
Black person, Minthara is a drow and Karlach is a tiefling
wtf is that hair cut?
So who else from BG1+2 will show up as a surprise? Imoen? Sarevok? That one mystery teleporting Bhaalspawn?
The Beamdog companions?
>That one mystery teleporting Bhaalspawn?
Wasn't that the one who fought charname, and they both ended up dead?
Sarevok origin
I wouldn't be surprised if Edwin makes an appearance. He was described to have possessed the body of a wizard named Larroakan and is currently inhabiting Ramazith's Tower. A wizard of the same name was mentioned by a soon to be student at the Druid's Grove.
It seems hard to imagine Larian wouldn't want to make some jokes at his expense
Wasn't that the case for Edwin in the original games?
Yeah, that's why I mean it. Larian loves their silly comedy and getting Edwin in the game would be the most acceptable way to pull that sort of writing.
