if i remember correctly
you fight saurons eye, literally
atop the tower
and then the game just ends i think with a trailer of some sorts of the first lotr movie
i could be wrong though
More than that, after you finish a weird Peleannor Fields fight (killing trebuchets on hills either side of a Peleannor valley) you are immediately teleported to the eye. No explanation, just ... boom.
As a kid I thought something had glitched so played through Peleannor again and it happened again. Then you get film-tower-collapses.mp4 and credits
I played it when it maybe 13 years ago and had a blast, never finished it though what was wrong with the ending?

I stopped playing around the part where the Gondorian guy on your team starts to get corrupted by Sauron's influence.
They had to rush the ending because time constrict so they decided "Frick it you are gonna stab that stupid eye with your sword after the pelennors fight"
A great game that deserved a little more time, playing as the evil side was extremely fun specially the balrog
Anon I told you that they didn't have time to do exactly that and instead of just cutting after pelennor they decided to transport you for a final boss. Blame the publisher aka Electronic Arts
I really wanted to like this game but the turn-based combat is so bland. It was not the 90s anymore they needed to add an interesting mechanic or something.
Never watched ring or hobbit slop but I do like some FFX
Is the game worth playing or will it just make wish that I was replaying FFX for the Xth time?
Pros: more focused on gameplay. Less cutscenes and dialogue, more fighting enemies.
Cons: everything else. The combat is also balanced very poorly from what I recall, which really blunts the one thing it has going for it over FFX. It's OK for the first 3 areas, starting off not too hard, then ramping up in difficulty as you go through Moria. But then it starts to oscillate between brutal and trivial as you go into Rohan and Gondor.
Something I actually really enjoyed about this was that it had a "co-op" mode that let a second player have a character they controlled.
Which is dumb and doesn't really make sense in a game like this but it let my dumb ass friend play with me and feel like he was doing something even though I basically just ended up telling him what to do on all his turns anyway.
I think I would've enjoyed this game more had the combat been a bit faster paced. It's like two times slower than FFX's and it's mostly because of the animations. For example the fake-Aragorn ranger guy had a bow skill that targets multiple units, and you have to watch the animation for each enemy unit separately. It's such a pointless and massive waste of time in already a slow-paced game.
Youtube keeps recommending me speedrun videos of this game lately and I have no idea why. The last time I played this game was probably around 2006.
i had the game for ps2
man it was so fricking fun
the ending was SHIT
but the gameplay was so fun

>you fight saurons eye, literally
>atop the tower
Just looked it up holy shit fricking what
yeah lmao
it was fricking silly
i think they didn't know how to end the game
and just made you fight big eye
This is what Aragorn and co would've had to do if Frodo dropped the ring in a chasm somewhere and couldn't find it.

oh right! the game had a play as the bad guys mode too
pretty open world if i recall
Did the game explain how you were able to get to Barad Dur or did they not give enough of a shit?

Damn
Is this the one where you fight the eye of Sauron?
3 homies in a row in Middle Earth

fair it came out i believe during FFX so the comparisons are very on point
no idea when that was
revisit it maybe
Honestly why didn't they make more final fantasy but with other skins, games

it's a good ffx "clone" if you will
just something different during the whole action games lotr had in the PS2 era
Pros: more focused on gameplay. Less cutscenes and dialogue, more fighting enemies.

It's a very short game
it's pretty uncanny how even the UI looks similar
for me it's The Lord of the Rings Battlefront
PS2 Twin Tower, OP Legolas
That was really good. There's something about those Pandemic games that feel anyone else was able to replicate.
I miss when blatant ripoffs could end up being kino
KINO
Man the HP ps1 games were so fricking good
Chamber of Secrets on the PS2 was a zelda clone and I loved it, I still play it now from time to time
the absolute best part of this game was flying around the castle whenever you wanted
THE PS2 HAS NO SNAKES
And GBC looks better than GBA
Something I actually really enjoyed about this was that it had a "co-op" mode that let a second player have a character they controlled.

Imagine an open world LOTR game, action orientated, exploration, different gear to get, hidden bosses, lore , good story
Yeah it was called the White Council, EA killed it

What the actual frick
DUDE
WE SHOULD GET THIS TRENDING ON TWITTER
AND Amazon WOULD BRING IT BACK AND GET IT PUBLISHED FINALLY
