That's like asking why you can't simply download more RAM. Emulation is already mimicing the hardware through software, the whole point of fpga is that that this can happen at a hardware level and not have a few extra milliseconds of input lag that will totally ruin your gameplay.
On that topic, I have this super high quality golden plated audio cable with military grade insulation that will totally remove any noise or delay from the audio output of a fpga.
For you it's only $499 per meter.
Software can't work around shitty pc hardware that makes low latency perfectly synchronized audio and video impossible.
Already have all the consoles and rgb crt I use. If I didn't care about original hardware, might as well use software emulator, instead of investing fpga implementation.

Emulation works for me, I don't notice any input lag because I don't live life through a highspeed camera.
Only reason to get one is for is the arcade and computer cores, which especially for the latter are far from perfect.

It's cool, but it's a niche product. 99% of the people on this board who want to play retro games will just use software emulation and be perfectly fine with it. This thing reminds me of guitar players who will spend $2,000 on a vacuum tube tape echo unit because anything less than the original unit simply isn't good enough. That's fine, but for everyone else into tape echo a $200 unit that sounds 90% like the real thing is more than good enough.

Emulation is free. This box is good for "Shit no one cares about enthusiasts" but beyond that emulating is fine for everyone else.

Mister doesn't make any sense ATM .Since the mister only works up to N64 the only systems that are too powerful to emulate perfectly with software can't run at all on the mister.
There's no real input lag on NES emulators or muppen because PC chips are powerful enough in comparison to pre PS2 chips that they can emulate them perfectly 5 times over without breaking a sweat.
If FPGAs could play up to PS3 it would be way but it can't even play GameCube so its the audiophile version of retro gamers consumers.
