Still gets lowered to 60 Sp. attack. Stop trying to defend shitnime

    >Sp Attack dropped two stages = cut in half
    >Mega raised it again by approximately 1.5
So it was an especially shitty base ~60 Draco Meteor.
I guess the blame falls on Iris for not overpowering it with literally any physical Dragon attack.

what lunatic runs the meteors on a megachomp

You're a fricking idiot. Pokemon battles are a lot like mixed martial arts. I've noticed this similarity. In MMA, you MUST have a diverse style. The best trainers have diverse moves. Garchomp has Draco meteors because Cynthia is a good trainer.

In the anime Dracometeor is stupidly op. Tobias even says Ash's gible could've one shot his Darkrai if it's Draco meteor actually landed

      >what lunatic runs the meteors on a megachomp
anime DM is probably THE strongest move, period, outside of cover legendaries signature moves
And physical/special split doesnt seem to exist in the anime - its just damage

MegaChomp was always a better mixed attacker than BaseChomp. Because of the increased bulk and reduced speed it doesn't need to rely on speed natures

Fireblast has always been a dumb Smogon meme for Garchomp.
        >minmax stats for physical
        >there's not anything like a "physical Blissey/Chansey"
        >weak to Ice 4x and Fairy 2x
        >Dragon and Ground cover everything neutrally
        >Earthquake is Earthquake
        >not using Iron Head to work off the superior stat that hits both Ice and Fairy super effectively
I know some tard will say "buh 80BP < 110BP¡¡¡"
Still better from being on the good stat.
Mixed has been a meme ever since the physical-special split.

          >hits both Ice and Fairy super effectively
Iron Head is trash as the only OU relevant Ice types outspeed Megachomp and the only relevant Fairies get hit hard enough from Earthquake/Fire Fang/Stone Edge(when Sand Force boosted)

      rule 2 of megachomp
      nobody expects a mixed/special megachomp
rule 1 is never use megachomp for anything but memes
yes 170 attack with chance of swords is cool, but it's just a ruse. 120 special attack against something that is not expected to take special hits hurts like a motherfricker, and garchomp's got a small but concise and very much functional special learnset.
and then they switch in their special wall and you unleash all of your 170 attack on it, which hurts like a motherfricker even uninvested.

This, megachomp hurts like a truck, even just using fireblast and d-meteor is enough to win a lot of matchups

that's true but why the frick would you run special mega garchomp? it has 170 attack + swords dance so why not use that?

physical mega chomp copes to a ton of shit
mixed mega chomp blows through everything because it hits hard with both stats

mega garchomp is better at mixed sets than regular garchomp:

    >Meta context
What works in the anime is "whatever it takes for dramatic storytelling". Like, wasn't there a trainer who trained his Sandslash to not be weak to water in a series of dramatic flashbacks?

    >Literal context for autistics who can only take things literally
The anime canon has a different set of mechanics from the video game canon. The odds are decent that mega evolving resets any stat changes.

Not that anon, but on the physical side it does get poison jab and stone edge. And fire blast without investment was a viable answer to skarmory and ferrothorn, even on non mega sets

yeah, fire blast was always taken specifically for skarm, with the added bonus of sniping ferro.
