Should only be one champion and the title gets passed along

    Champion rank sounds way cooler

I have to admit that's better, I can't believe it took this long to be introduced

I don’t think Champion Rank is inherently an issue but when Nemona is the only character who has it that you meet you might as well have had her surpass Geeta before she battles you at the end like Lance and Blue.

      Nemona isn't a champion moron.

yeah and that’s only because she hid her power level from Geeta

Hey look it's the literal moron who is so assmad about Nemona he denies her title every time someone mentions it. Nemona is a champion and you are a moron, deal with it

        >it's the "c-champion rank and champion aren't the same!" homosexual
Except they are. If you become Champion, you are a Champion-Rank. If you are a Champion-Rank, you have become Champion.
        >Nemona is a Champion
        >Geeta is a Champion that tests other Champions
        >you are a Champion
This is made undeniably clear during the entire game.

    Idk
blue was champion in rby, then relegated to gym leader in gsc, would that make him a champion ranked gym leader in gsc?

Yes, gyms use regulations so they aren't allowed to use their strongest mons on you obviously

It could be different depending on the region. Places like Alola, it's clearly exclusive, but in other places like Paldea, it can be something more than one person can achieve.

I don't think champion rank devalues the title of someone who has the rank like nemona. It clearly is a title that demands respect.
My problem is the "champion" of the elite four.
So THEIR title is more of a glorified 5th elite four member. They aren't the strongest clearly, so it devalues them.
Geeta sucks is what im saying

Dude, the two aren't mutually exclusive. That's literally how championships work.

Champions exist in other regions, only Kanto and Johto aren't specific therefore they may be the true champion considering they reference Blue as the World's Strongest.

IIRC there’s some lines in Gen 7 about how Red and Blue are the best trainers in the world

they just have the battle legends title in the Battle Tree, thats it

The way SV does it seems to make more logistical sense, but it's lame. Having the champion just be the current strongest trainer is much more interesting.

Blue lose his title right after earning it. Would make sense he stays a Champion level trainer even if he loses it same with Lance and another a champion you face. But at the same time it was funny seeing Leon seethe and facing him again with a new title lol

Champion being a rank makes sense. Imo, champion-rank trainers should be all trainers that at one point held the title of a champion but were eventually defeated. Top champion should be someone who is currently undefeated.

Paldea's league literally works like Kanto and Alola's leagues did before their games, you don't have to beat the number one after some pointless guys, you beat the top tier trainers that evaluate your worth and that's how you are ranked as the top dog, the Champion, one who can still find and fight other previous Champions if they feel like, like Red and Green do with you in LGPE.
Even Pokemon Home acknowledges this, Geeta is basically a fifth Elite Four member, she's to Paldea what Lance was to Kanto in gen 1.

Neither is better or bad for world building.
I guess the word is more associated with a single winner so that makes more sense, but the idea with Nemona isn't bad either.
You could argue there's the issue of whether they shouldn't be the ones doing the world-saving, but that's an issue in either case and masters is even worse because you have all of them together and still dont gangbang the villains.

Honestly rank+official duty seems to be the better choice.
Paldea is stable because everyone gets to try at beating the champ and among the champion rank trainers the next champ is elected by the public every few years or so depending on their performance (mostly to see who is suitable to be a bureaucrat).

Exclusive title. It’s okay for paldea but for the rest of the world keep it an exclusive title or else it’s stops meaning anything.
