I played the first one on my PS4 when it came out, it had its issues but I would say the combat at least was far above average and carried most of the game.
It's one of those

type of games but overall the world was pretty nice, especially the derelict old world high-tech parts, and the combat made me want to keep playing. I haven't replayed it and I wouldn't say it's a 4/5 but it was perfectly servicable and kept me engaging for 20 or so hours so I'm willing to give the next one a try when it releases on PC, though I'll probably get it on sale because I don't care enough to buy it on release.

I'm a huge Sonysister and I am so because of games like Astro and Returnal. Horizon is just Ubislop like every other open world game right now (that included you TOTK and ER anons as well).

It's worse yeah, but no game can have content that outbalances the checklist garbage. ER is beautiful and TOTK has good mechanics, doesn't matter at all when every few steps there is more copy pasted garbage so you don't actually have to explore the game.
This. I pirated the first one because I liked the aesthetic but dropped it after a few hours because of how boring, shit and generic the gameplay was.

I don't even remember the plot, like there are these groups of humans who traveled to another planet on an advanced spaceship for like 300 years and came all the way back in like 20 years with high tech evolved super suits/science, but they had also made advancements in science/medicine that gave them nigh immortality. Also, only the very wealthy and influential were allowed on the ship, and you'd think incest was a thing eventually, but I guess not since the ship was supposedly massive and could carry/sustain thousands of people.
The main bad guy I think is a literal Jeff Bezo look-a-like, which says something about the developers/writers. They clearly don't like powerful white rich businessmen.
a few things:
1. He's not the main badguy
2. You were distracting him
3. He killed the love interest (and father of her kid) of the person who stabbed him

I have a Ryzen 7 3700x and a 2060 Super will I make it? I don't think so, maybe could do 1080p at 60 FPS...damn. The PS5 has an equivalent of a 2070 Super but it ran at 60 FPS, so I guess it really isn't a big deal. I'd rather wait for side-by-side comparisons of the PC and PS5 version just to see the finer details on the PC version.

Because it's fun to fight against robots and it's controls are extremely tight, something that's lacking in modern games that wants to make you feel you're running through mud constantly. Not sure about 2 but I loved that in 1. It's also not another 200 hours long grindfest that overstays it's welcome. I 90%'d first game in like 30-40 hours, only data logs remained which I'm not going to collect anyways. Ideal length for open world imo.
