I rented this a long long time ago, all I remember was slicing up those cyborg looking guys with that cool blade weapon. I don't think I ever made it past the first couple stages.
I wanted to play this game when it came out but never got around to it. Every once in a while I'll remember it and think about booting it up but it hasn't happened so far.
It possibly came out too late in the PSX's life but it's interesting to see how much power they could still squeeze out of the console. Games like this were perfect for people still playing their fifth gen console by as late as 2002.
It was right before 3rd wave feminism. Words weren't that offensive yet. Then feminists became even more offensive than this whilst also protesting these words
Weird to think that instead of making and releasing C-12 in 2001; SCE Cambridge could have made and released MediEvil 3 instead. It would have been nice to get a whole trilogy for the PS1.
If 2 was anything to go by, I don't think you can trod out Sir Dan a third time. I don't think 2 is bad necessarily, it's just highly-inferior to the original and I think if you wanted to do a real follow-up it needs to focus on a different, but similar, character. I'm still glad they made C-12 but it feels like ME2 was them seeing what else they could do with the hardware first, there is even an unused C-12 asset in the data of one of the deleted levels.
>not even /vr/ knows this game
i have it. bought this and martian gothic new, they were cheaper than usual ps1 titles
I know it. Plays like the other Bruce Willis game from that era
They're good and a bit underrated. The contra game from ps1 played sorta like these too

2001 release in Europe
Checking out a longplay and it feels like there is barely any enemy in the game. Also the art style feels like MGS crossed with Aliens
The atmosphere is great
PS1's graphics and art are peak of vidya
Peak 2000s writing
I played through this game in 2022.
Good game.
This made me kek.

Weird huh?
It's all in your head.
Then you'll have no issues going back to the kitchen and bringing me a sandwich.
ywnbaw
Nah it really isn't. Everyone else explains this to me all the time and how you're being overly corrupt too (taxation without representation)
And this protects women how...?
No because everyone's accounts get banned for trying to be overly Christian or right wing. You're lying again
actually is "It's all in your hands", very common misheard lyrics it seems
The funny part is, that we didn't have cursing or anything offensive like that in vidya back then. But now that word would throw Twitter insane.
Always wanted to play this since it was made by the same studio that also made MediEvil.
MediEvil 2 felt like more of a baseline build for C-12 than anything else. More and more I wish ME2 was just a standalone game.

I like the late-90's, gritty aesthetic that permeated some PlayStation games, I lump (c-12) Final Resistance in with One and Apocalypse in my memory.
I enjoy picrel for much the same, though it's much earlier by comparison, being from 1997.
I played the demo a lot.
I suggest you play Assault Retribution if you are into the sci-fi cyberpunk aesthetic.
Its a third person contra clone that throws ridiculous one-off boss battles at you every couple of minutes essentially
Strap one on, it's time to jam!
Kinda, I mean it came out at the end of psx life but its 7/10 at best.
