It's Pillars of Eternity in FPS. Every video of the gameplay looks awful and devs keep comparing it to New Vegas a game none of the current Obsidian staff even worked on and talking about all the stuff you can't do in interview ie: you can only be a human or an elf.
I can't be a Aumaua? What the FRICK. They're literally just Blue humans. Why Elves? Who cares about ELVES in Pillars?
I understand Orlan and Dorf due to height. And I can understand Godlikes (kind of) because of what they are... even if they're common in the world. But no strong blue fish humans? My favorite race?
The Fallout New Vegas to Skyrim's Fallout 3 (i.e. a shit game that people will worship in half a decade because it was made by a developer they favour)
Doubt it. It'll likely just be another mediocre and forgotten RPG release like Outer Worlds. There's nothing aggressively bad about it like Forespoken.
poe2's biggest problem is the open map. everybody went around farming ship combat for easy money and doing so much side-content they ended up steamrolling the main story when they finally got to it
I always thought the Pillars of Eternity "twist" was stupid. It does that thing you see in a lot of sci-fi where if a god or seemingly divine figure is anything short the eternal, omnipotent capital-G Abrahamic God, then its some kind of fake.
>The gods were created by an ancient civilization! >Yes, they function exactly like gods and this changes exactly nothing, but they're not eternal, primordial beings so they're fakes!
I think that was only a problem with Iovara, she literally says that the gods aren't real and you can't call her out on the stupidity of that statement.
Nah, the gameplay doesn't look that bad compared to Forspoken. It's essentially modded skyrim. Not something I'm interested in so I'll pass on it but I bet it'll have a passable niche in the genre just like how Outer Worlds has it's fans. My main issue is that the game is sort of ugly and design wise it can't decide if it was to be a bright and colorful fantasy land or a dark and grimy medieval kingdom.
It'll suit the niche of console players who like Bethesda games but wish the combat/RPG mechanics/writing were better, even if it comes at the expense of performance/visuals/sound design, which Bethesda still tends to trounce Obisidian in.
>It'll suit the niche of console players who like Bethesda games but wish the combat/RPG mechanics/writing were better
but this looks worse than Skyrim
that's the joke
All of PoE2's biggest problems were related to writing, if you ask me.
The narrator had shit overly verbose descriptions and the VA was annoying.
Whereas PoE was written to feel grounded and believable, PoE 2's world building is full of stuff that feels like it was only written to provide a narrative element or a one-off joke.
Then there's the God awful "random" humor in the dialog options and the romance, both of which were added on the insistence on a clique of terminally online weirdos on the fan discord, no one in the studio actually wanted that shit.
There is nothing wrong with PoE 2 writing, if anything it cut down on PoE 1s lengthy unnecessary walls of text. PoE 2 had other problems than the writing
Redpill me on this game
it's woke goyslop. that's all you need to know.
Pillars of Eternity Skyrim edition
It's a modern Obsidian game (ie awful).

tbh what first person games even let you customize your height?
Elder Scrolls races are all different heights.
yeah but the first person camera is always at the same height.

The Outer Worlds with Swords
That art is gay. Empty. Communicates nothing
that cover art is missing something, a soul.
Doubt it. It'll likely just be another mediocre and forgotten RPG release like Outer Worlds. There's nothing aggressively bad about it like Forespoken.
The only thing in the original teaser that stood out was the rune weaving gesture shit, and it turns out that's not in the game.
>2 playable races, Human and Elf
>no romance
>open world game mechanics but not in an open world
These do not seem like good ideas taken all together
>no romance
Who cares?
>open world mechanics
Such as?
The first two are fine. Great even. Only gays of autistis care about being their demisexual lizardman in a gay relationship with a dwarf.
I don't know where the third point is coming from. When did they say that?
No one who actually likes RPGs give a shit about those. The game looks mediocre because of the dialogue and the combat.
I'd rather have POE3
I want both. POE2 failed because of the setting, pirates was the lamest fricking setting they could have come up with.

Secretly good?
I'll definitely pirate it
Have they said how much it's going to cost? Might get it if it's $30 max, but they are literally insane if they will charge $60 let alone $70

Outer worlds was utter dogshit.

I didn't say they wanted better visuals.
