Mainstream medical science accepted trans treatments for children as "good enough" treatment for their mental disorders with limited information about it's consequences. Now that we do have information about transition and it's longer term consequences, new research suggests that it is a wrong way to treat young people with depression and feelings of gender dysphoria, since "fixing" that dysphoria does not actually fix their mental health issues.
