Bullets be expensive in Venezuela.
Wouldn't a solid gold bullet weigh hundreds of pounds and sound crummy?
Well, it's mostly for show.
Bullets are cheap it's his services that are expensive
This. Heavy is intelligent enough to demand actual payment equal to his work. Pyro just asks for more burn material
no he was shooting blu team
why not make a minigun which fires an existing ammo type
He fires 200 dollar custom tool cartridges at 10000 rpm. You do the math
But hey it's just a theory
No he literally says it
And 12 seconds is 20% of one minute
2000 rounds over 12 seconds
2000 x 200 = 400 000
the bullets are $200 each custom tooled cartridges
it costs $400,000 to fire it for twelve seconds
400,000 divided by 12 is about 33,333.33 (repeating)
33,333.33 divided by 200 is about 166.66
he shoots 166 $200 bullets every second
What the frick gold would be significantly cheaper
>a custom fancy bullet shot from a weapon with a massive barrel is significantly weaker than a pistol shot
Many such cases
I think in Deep Rock the gunners minigun just barely does more per hit than the engineers pistol, and significantly less than the scouts garand
>166 rps
But that's clearly not true, otherwise he'd deplete his entire ammo stock in less than 2 seconds
Using "1" minigun ammo actually fires four bullets.
how can he shot 166 bullets every second?
>Google minigun fire rate for reference
>See first most asked question
ffs
That's only 100 rounds per second.
>people also ask
Why didn't you click that one?
Wrong game
>This is something silly I thought of, in the Video "Meet the Heavy" Heavy makes it clear that it is expensive to fire the Minigun, saying it cost Four hundred thousand dollars to fire it for twelve seconds
>Presumably not counting the spin-up time. At the claimed 10,000 rounds per minute, the cost of each bullet would be $200. In game, the Minigun fires 4 rounds every .1 second, or 2,400 bullets per minute. Going by in-game rates, the cost of each bullet would be over $800 apiece. to fire the minigun for one minute it cost $480,000. firing it for twelve seconds has it fire off 720 rounds costing $144,000 per 12 seconds. not nearly as much as Heavy Claims it is.
>To fire off all of the max "cartridges" of 200 since each has 4 bullets in it it actually has 800 bullets in it so the cost to fire off the entire thing is $160,000.
>The minigun cannot even hold enough bullets to fire over 400,000 Dollars worth of bullets without picking more up.
>And all of this is not counting spin up time.
>So Heavy is not NEARLY as Rich as he claims to be....but he is still REALLY Freaking Rich. $480,000 per minute of firing is still alot of Money that he is literally shooting out of his Minigun.
Because he's an idiot.
>but heavy is actually really smart it's just that he's russian and english is his second la-
He's always been an idiot, just a self-aware one. His iconic quote from that very short is acknowledging that some people can outsmart him.
No I don't care about how he might be depicted in the comics, that's always going to be a reinterpretation of his original character. His original depiction in meet the heavy was a simpleton but a respectable one. Not some actually really intelligent person or some WACKY manchild who talks to his lunch.
>talks to his lunch
Yeah he just talks to his gun. Talking to his sandvich would be weird!
It would. His gun is actually precious to him.
The sandvich stuff is consistent with his original depiction, there's even a meet the sandvich video. Only the comics are different and sometimes at odds with the meet the team videos.
Meet the sandvich was after meet the heavy, even then the short itself doesn't really do WACKY heavy.
>Meet the sandvich was after meet the heavy
The Meet the Team videos were all made at different times, and Meet the Heavy was the first. Would you also say that when Heavy appears in some later video like Meet the Medic, that's not canon to Heavy's character?
>doesn't really do WACKY heavy
Well, it has om nom nom in it. That's fairly wacky.
I think it's reasonable to say the later the meet the videos were made the more valve were compromising on their original vision. I mean look at Meet the Pyro, was that really made with the same mentality valve had at the start of tf2?
Granted Meet The Sandvich was fairly early on but it did start this trend of trying to push heavy as being a wacky manchild.
heavy was a literal manchild at launch with all his moronic screams
of all the ESL classes in the game he's the only one that has issues speaking english and uses simple words
there's absolutely nothing to suggest he's not a moron with a big gun in the game itself, everything came from the comics
I fricking hate how the comics completely assassinated soldier's character
Going by in game you'd think he's a desensitised yet still charming veteran but guess fricking what now he's a lead poisoned insane moron larping as a soldier with no actual military experience
...yeah, not like he wasn't talking to the heads of his enemies and shooting his own feet with a rocket before lol
>he's a desensitised yet still charming veteran
He is-- in his head.
>but guess fricking what now he's a lead poisoned insane moron larping as a soldier with no actual military experience
His original character summary predates the comics by several years.
Soldier was always a lunatic.
It's arguable some of his in-game lines make him sound more sane that what he was intended to sound.
But Soldier was definitely flanderized in the comics.
Soldier was always a schizo larper who talked to the decapitated heads of his enemies but he certainly wasn't dumb, I dislike the comic's flanderization of him as well.
The guy may be goofy and cuh-razy but he's still an absolute MENANCE and a genius when it comes to warfare.
The guy literally taught himself how to fight and become one of the most dangerous men on the planet.
They did every character poorly and ran them all into the ground with memes
I understand myself and many of us here we were in the threads when each issue dropped and it was hype and SOUL and fun at the time but the comics were ultimately a fricking mistake that did a tonne of damage to the tone of TF2, that plus unchecked moronic cosmetics, meet your match etc. is why we're where we are now even ignoring the bot issue
>soldier is an absolute menace and a genius when it comes to warfare
>the very first instance we see of him getting into a fight, he is charging blindly at a level 3 sentry
i dont know about that, he was never a genius or even a very good tactician, just a dangerous lunatic with 0 survival instinct
I think the sentry was out of ammo when he charged it, the engie was whacking it to reload.
He's like that in some fan works. Fanon Soldier is a competent leader and tactician.
I don't care what what you think quite frankly
Heavy's deal is that he's a calm, serious guy who enjoys his job way too much. He gets in the zone and starts doing silly shit like singing, imitating his gun's sounds and yelling at the top of his lungs.
They're probably anti material and tungsten or something.
Tungsten prices exploded in 2004/2005 to be something like 3 times the value of gold for the same weight. Gold didn't catch up until about 2010.
So if heavy was shooting gold bullets he'd be saving money.
Its a cartoon setting bro
The robots are canonically fueled by money
He pays extra for smart bullets.
