Yeah that one purposefully drains fast to keep you from just shit stomping your way through the commonwealth early on. Literally just go by a core by selling that one before it runs out and you'll see the difference.

cross the bridge out of sanctuary and follow the southeastern bank of the river until you hit a robotics scrap yard. there's an inactive sentrybot sitting there with a trunk beside it, inside the trunk is a full fusion core

There's also one in a molerat cave right next to the Red Rocket Gas Station near Sanctuary.
Even then it was poorly executed and seems like a last minute design instead of something baked into the core of the game. It receives infinite praise when it looks and plays like an autonomous action figure instead of a mech
It feels cool and bulky. Needs a dedicated melee option though. The power cores that canonically last basically forever being shitty and disposable is also stupid and ruins the lore, they should've at least come up with an excuse or something. The only thing it really does wrong is not require training anymore. Power Armor should be locked behind some high level shit but the game throws around frames like candy.
Power armour in 4 is boring and lame. I can’t believe they gave you an overpowered mech suit in like the first 10 minutes of the game. Slow, cumbersome and you gimp yourself by not using it. Awful idea.
I hate the excuse of just ignore feature you don’t like. It seems to be a favorite go to excuse for Bethesda drones. Introducing power armor that early fricks up the balancing and shows how little forethought the devs put into it
Fallout 4 is a great exploration and dungeon crawler. I ignore the bastardized lore, shitty story, and dialogue. Instead I play some videos in the background make Nate the Rake an insane lying murdering psycho with ptsd.
I've been having fun with it. The building and crafting is great but the main story is rushed as frick and poorly done. Also I like that Power Armor actually feels like something you enter that's about to tear shit up instead of being an outfit you slip on in your inventory.
Yeah, I agree. They really put in extra details for the animations, sounds, etc to make it actually feel powerful. I kind of wish there was more modifications you could do to them besides some generic paint job.
I will always appreciate them for making Fallout 3 (A game I do legitimately enjoy) and creating an opportunity for Fallout New Vegas. That said, I don't like anything Bethesda made that came after Skyrim
I’ll never understand the addition of settlement building other than Bethesda execs looking at the success of Minecraft and wanting a piece. Boring, tedious, and ultimately useless in terms of progression outside of completing some arbitrary checkpoints. Even the raider settlements added with the DLC behave the same and do frick all
It’s thrown in your face by almost every faction at some point, and is necessary to complete certain quests. It’s obvious they spent a lot of work and time to implement it which could have been utilized to make a better game.
the dlcs require it as well as the Minutemen and Railroad, aside from that the optional base building radiant quests are given out by most notable factions

Required in the sense of build a frickin beacon as a tutorial. Get over it

You just said it was only required once and now that I provided other examples you’re telling me to get over it kek keep lapping at Todd’s lardy teats
It’s exactly what you said. A tacked-on, half-assed piece of shit that doesn’t even work properly. It felt like the devs couldn’t be bothered to build large sections of the map so they just made the player do it themselves. Maybe mods fix it, I don’t care.
Yeah it’s fricking awful. The RPG with no skill choices, no dialogue options or branching quests. The fact that some people actually praise this game is fricking weird. It’s dogshit.
>Amazon and Bethesda were giving away free copies of Fallout 1 before the show came out. I wonder how many normalgays made it out of the cave?
probably none because they made shit builds
FO1 filters you hard for not going high agility & charisma is completely useless, its bad int he other games too but in FO1 is virtually useless.
Wouldn't it be scary to be frozen of over a century to witness your wife (or husband) is shot dead as your offspring is abducted and you helplessly watched it unfold before your very eyes in a chamber and then get frozen for decades again?
i was gonna replay rthis but i cant get my female character to look good. in skyrim i just had to download a preset and put it on and i looked good, but i always end up a hag in this one.
>decide to pick up rifleman because rifles and shotguns are good >literally locked out of every other weapon type in the game
it's restrictive and not in a fun way. the energy weapons/guns divide of the previous games allowed you to use a variety of weapons..
>modding regular armor adds pockets >modding power armor adds stronger shock absorbers to the legs
I know it's supposed to represent stronger weight limit support, but power armor has no pockets. All I can see now is the dweller bumblefricking around the wasteland with a ten-foot high pile of crap balanced in their arms.
Fallout 4 is the quintessential anti fallout 3 and anti new Vegas game, since it's core mechanics revolve around cleaning up debris and recreating society instead of letting everything be garbage or waiting for mole people to kill everything
would’ve worked better as a motif if they had it central to the plot, or had any characters that were involved in the process. new vegas does both better with the ncr and house. advancing their quests even causes changes to the environment to reflect that
I'm not a fan of how consistent it is that Bethesda will release a mediocre or downright broken game, everyone agrees it's mediocre and broken and then years down the line we have a frickton of midwit contrarians suddenly claiming they're hidden gems of game design
Like, this is straight up just revisionism, Fallout 4 was widely derided upon release for utterly destroying any RPG elements that were central to Fallout as a series but now all of a sudden everyone is 'actually it's a great game'
i just hate bethesdas whole approach to the setting
why not just set the games 20 years after the bombs fell if you want it to be about scavenging? it's been 200 years and they still think people would just live in rusted scrap metal shacks and scavenge the somehow infinite amount of supplies in the wasteland
I wasted an entire day's worth of fricking with mod managers and shit only to find out just recently that my CTD is because of Weapon Debris graphic option enabled, which is known to crash RTX cards.
>Clunky NPC dialogue with terrible plot progression
Todd games are legitimately a fricking stain on western-RPGs. I blame coomers for keeping them on life support instead of letting them fricking die.
>set up mods >start new game >get to concord >need to enter the house with the bandits >crash when I enter >go to mod list turn off some mods >reload >crash when going through door >repeat checking mods >game still crashes
I’ll play this game later
The setup was nice but it didn’t get Lovecraftian enough. The mystery gets explained away as radiation and then it’s back to a typical cult v synth plot.
Proof?
You have to play and immerse yourself in the world, man.
You play as a war criminal.
define war crime
Finding a canadian prisoner dying really funny
he did not do it, so, no war crime
Pretty sure that mocking the dead of a civillian would make you some kind of war criminal
Only if you lost the war. If you're the winner you could dance on the ashes of a concentration camp and nobody would give a frick.
Your tears
McDonald’s is the most successful restaurant chain too. Popularity doesn’t necessitate quality.
What's that?!
I can't hear you I'm enjoying Fallout 4
said no one ever!
what game?
MGSV, but that "dog" is a wolf. Don't let it fool you.
It's an underrated masterpiece. New Vegas troons seethe over the game's amazing combat, graphics, and story about a traditional family reuniting.
Rent free
I have never heard anyone compliment 4's story.
because that's not a real person, that's a shill
Wild how new vegas always gets mentioned in non-new vegas threads. Never the opposite
Not anymore, game is officially decanonized.
I hated the power armor battery bullshit
it already gives you god mode trivializing the entire game
not playing on survival with mods
have you actually played this game?
If I played survival I'd park my PA until like midgame
The core and armor barely last with the deathclaw fight. Quit being disingenuous.
core picked up in the basement of the museum of freedom is at 50/100 anyway
Why don't you quit being disingenuous? I've fought at least 3 in one session with it on before and I've barely gotten past a quarter of charge.
I'm referring to the armor you get in Concord and the core from the basement.
Vats is already god mode trivializing the game tho. Even without vats or pa, you will barely ever die except from surprise bottlecap mines.
The only truly great thing Fallout 4 did for the series was making Power Armor feel like Power Armor.
Even then it was poorly executed and seems like a last minute design instead of something baked into the core of the game. It receives infinite praise when it looks and plays like an autonomous action figure instead of a mech
you said literally nothing in your post, congratulations
>it plays like an autonomous action figure
lmfao is this drivel supposed to mean anything?
Yes, I’m comparing the power armor in 4 to a weightless piece of plastic you monosyllabic frick
you failure to elaborate says more than your moronic ramblings ever could kek
ELABORATE! ELABORATE! ELABORATE! crieth the ESL Lord of Assmad
that's not very christian of you, sir
Yeah but do you have a source for that elaboration?
It feels cool and bulky. Needs a dedicated melee option though. The power cores that canonically last basically forever being shitty and disposable is also stupid and ruins the lore, they should've at least come up with an excuse or something. The only thing it really does wrong is not require training anymore. Power Armor should be locked behind some high level shit but the game throws around frames like candy.
The movement is rigid but lacks weight, the worst of both possibilities combined
It gets such weird amounts of praise. It’s a chore to play with it on.
Power armour in 4 is boring and lame. I can’t believe they gave you an overpowered mech suit in like the first 10 minutes of the game. Slow, cumbersome and you gimp yourself by not using it. Awful idea.
It's fun for a fight but is gimps the experience by needing repairs and fusion cores meaning you hardly ever pilot it far from your base.
Same as their Vertibirds.
You don't have to use it if you don't like it. I'd rather have it from the start than only get to use it for the last 10% of the game.
I hate the excuse of just ignore feature you don’t like. It seems to be a favorite go to excuse for Bethesda drones. Introducing power armor that early fricks up the balancing and shows how little forethought the devs put into it
I doesn't take very long before you are swimming in fusion cores.
There’s 1 fusion core at almost every location you find.
downtown Boston and the glowing sea are the best areas in 3D fallout. also power armor in 4 is so cool
Fallout 4 is a great exploration and dungeon crawler. I ignore the bastardized lore, shitty story, and dialogue. Instead I play some videos in the background make Nate the Rake an insane lying murdering psycho with ptsd.
>Fallout 4 is bad because.. it just is okay? Watch my 4 hour essay about how I've never seen a vegana irl
Shill
moron
I've been having fun with it. The building and crafting is great but the main story is rushed as frick and poorly done. Also I like that Power Armor actually feels like something you enter that's about to tear shit up instead of being an outfit you slip on in your inventory.
It reminds me of power armor in 1 and 2. Like a walking tank. The T-51 should be better than the T-60 though.
The Power Armor in 1 and 2 aren’t made of tin and run of AA batteries.
Yeah, I agree. They really put in extra details for the animations, sounds, etc to make it actually feel powerful. I kind of wish there was more modifications you could do to them besides some generic paint job.
I love how loud it sounds when you jump off a roof in power armor.
>Jumping off the Prydwen
There's a terminal talking about some guy breaking his legs doing just that
>T-51 should be better than the T-60 though
It is, it's cheaper to repair too, better color schemes too.
Why do power armored use “T” as a designation? Shouldn’t they use “M1”?
No, it's not.
when you think about it it's pretty amazing that beth gave us two best sandboxes in the market +a lot of mods to frick around
I will always appreciate them for making Fallout 3 (A game I do legitimately enjoy) and creating an opportunity for Fallout New Vegas. That said, I don't like anything Bethesda made that came after Skyrim
Is that the game with a homosexual voiced protagonist and homosexual settlement building?
Yes
The only homosexual here appears to be YOURSELF, sir!
I’ll never understand the addition of settlement building other than Bethesda execs looking at the success of Minecraft and wanting a piece. Boring, tedious, and ultimately useless in terms of progression outside of completing some arbitrary checkpoints. Even the raider settlements added with the DLC behave the same and do frick all
luckily, the basebuilding is 100% optional and virtually completely contained within the Minuteman quest line
It’s thrown in your face by almost every faction at some point, and is necessary to complete certain quests. It’s obvious they spent a lot of work and time to implement it which could have been utilized to make a better game.
aside from the minutemen, you basically have to build some turrets at tappington boathouse for the railroad
>thrown in your face
it's necessary for 1 QUEST you fricking imbecile
the dlcs require it as well as the Minutemen and Railroad, aside from that the optional base building radiant quests are given out by most notable factions
Required in the sense of build a frickin beacon as a tutorial. Get over it
You just said it was only required once and now that I provided other examples you’re telling me to get over it kek keep lapping at Todd’s lardy teats
It should be necessary for 0 quests. Shit game made for an audience that doesn't like real fallout games. Fact.
People have been decorating their bases/hoarding certain items since the series went 3D
if you play on survival(the only way to play) it's essential
You lack a soul therefore don't understand the first thing about roleplaying
Ah yes let me boot up a gritty post apocalyptic survival game to rotate some fricking planks. It’s tacked on to cater to a larger demographic.
Scavenging, building and crafting was a huge part of roleplaying one of my characters.
The inclusion of it was a no-brainer for Fallout. Couldn't fit better.
Oh yeah well eating shit was a huge part of roleplaying one of my characters. Sadly they didn’t implement that mechanic.
It’s exactly what you said. A tacked-on, half-assed piece of shit that doesn’t even work properly. It felt like the devs couldn’t be bothered to build large sections of the map so they just made the player do it themselves. Maybe mods fix it, I don’t care.
Settlement building is cool in any RPG and fits perfectly with Fallout, your not forced to use it outside of Preston sending you to unlock them
Yeah it’s fricking awful. The RPG with no skill choices, no dialogue options or branching quests. The fact that some people actually praise this game is fricking weird. It’s dogshit.
with mods, on its own its terrible
?si=cmKXbsbKGRXySzDt
Shutup, if it was terrible you wouldn't bother modding it in the first place
marketing thread
the tv slop made more normies get into fallout unironically tho they will never play 1 tho you cant expect a lot from normies.
I have a friend he is not a normie he is into werid shit but after he watched the shitty tv series he started playing Fallout 3.
Amazon and Bethesda were giving away free copies of Fallout 1 before the show came out. I wonder how many normalgays made it out of the cave?
>Amazon and Bethesda were giving away free copies of Fallout 1 before the show came out. I wonder how many normalgays made it out of the cave?
probably none because they made shit builds
FO1 filters you hard for not going high agility & charisma is completely useless, its bad int he other games too but in FO1 is virtually useless.
You have to plan your character before you play. Normalgays want to jump into a game and be proficient at everything.
yeah, they are not smart they havent overcome the call of duty gay mentality
Wouldn't it be scary to be frozen of over a century to witness your wife (or husband) is shot dead as your offspring is abducted and you helplessly watched it unfold before your very eyes in a chamber and then get frozen for decades again?
I don't get why Kellog shot Nora at all, or why Shaun didn't come back for us.
is there a 120+ fps fix for 4 or does it break physics?
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/44798
i was gonna replay rthis but i cant get my female character to look good. in skyrim i just had to download a preset and put it on and i looked good, but i always end up a hag in this one.
You know that male gaze is literally rape, right? So grow up already or you'll be alone forever.
So much this
I’m really having a BLAST
NO, you CAN'T have fun with Fallout 4!!!
>decide to pick up rifleman because rifles and shotguns are good
>literally locked out of every other weapon type in the game
it's restrictive and not in a fun way. the energy weapons/guns divide of the previous games allowed you to use a variety of weapons..
>Get Deep Pocketed armor
>Can carry more than while wearing power armor
Idgi
they're really deep pockets, i don't know what more
to say*
>modding regular armor adds pockets
>modding power armor adds stronger shock absorbers to the legs
I know it's supposed to represent stronger weight limit support, but power armor has no pockets. All I can see now is the dweller bumblefricking around the wasteland with a ten-foot high pile of crap balanced in their arms.
>plays Fallout: New Vegas
>"Frick, I think I might be trans!"
Fallout 4 is the quintessential anti fallout 3 and anti new Vegas game, since it's core mechanics revolve around cleaning up debris and recreating society instead of letting everything be garbage or waiting for mole people to kill everything
The cleaning of debris is just a chore, the story itself treats the apocalypse like it happened in 1964 and the game takes place in 1968
would’ve worked better as a motif if they had it central to the plot, or had any characters that were involved in the process. new vegas does both better with the ncr and house. advancing their quests even causes changes to the environment to reflect that

Before the show came out it was the third world shitters rabidly defending 3 and 4. Now the normgroids have joined their ranks.
It’s been about 10 years now anon. The anons in this thread probably played it as literal children. That’s why.
i just hate bethesdas whole approach to the setting
why not just set the games 20 years after the bombs fell if you want it to be about scavenging? it's been 200 years and they still think people would just live in rusted scrap metal shacks and scavenge the somehow infinite amount of supplies in the wasteland
That's literally what 76 is - 25 years after the war.
I got all the achievements on survival mode when I used to play on ps4 and it just made me hate the game even more.
Fricking bethesda, I keep replaying their games. Too fricking good. Just finished Skyrim, so FO4 is probably the next one.
*on peesee
aaand fixed
no need to thank me chudders
But I'm currently using YAR, how is this any better?
I wasted an entire day's worth of fricking with mod managers and shit only to find out just recently that my CTD is because of Weapon Debris graphic option enabled, which is known to crash RTX cards.
Why do I even bother with Bethesda games
Just follow the mod guide that fixes all the long load screens and shitty FPS issues
I already have the high fps mod that decouples the physics, it has absolutely nothing to do with what I said
S-she cute...
Maybe I should convert to sandBlack personism
you can get them for free without having to do anything but play 2 plane tickets, there is a lot of kurdish girls that want to escape the middle east
>Clunky NPC dialogue with terrible plot progression
Todd games are legitimately a fricking stain on western-RPGs. I blame coomers for keeping them on life support instead of letting them fricking die.
Glad you’re having a blast!
You’d think the shills would learn some new phrases at some point.
Thanks bro, i'm gaving fun again.
Lots of TDS threads today, the hit tv show really shook up the troony nest. The totality of Todds victories is absolute and astounding
>set up mods

>need to enter the house with the bandits
>crash when I enter
>go to mod list turn off some mods

I’ll play this game later
Far Harbor is alright.
The setup was nice but it didn’t get Lovecraftian enough. The mystery gets explained away as radiation and then it’s back to a typical cult v synth plot.
mutating fog
>radiation
strange sea creatures
>radiation
cult centered around a deity the player witnesses
>radiation hallucination
I forgot about those methy Jesus hippie freaks. Now I wanna play again.
As much as I dislike Fallout 4 I had a lot of fun playing Far Harbor as a cultist wielding the Atom’s Judgement super sledge.
Bethesda has never made a good game
Even then FO4 stands out for being particularly bad
If console gave nv mod support/access no one would willingly play fallout 4
After playing Shitfield, yes, I agree.
This is Todd's magnum opus
i like all the fallout games
tactics is boring af
This game is still unoptimizated even for todays hardware
How so? I never had a problem with Valhalla.
I mean fall out 4
