unironically yes. audio files are 90% of current games, because they don't compress audio AT ALL, like not even 1% lossless compression, literally 0% compressed so each audio file is over 100 times larger than it should be, it's why the audio folders in cod are 100GB+
idk maybe it has to do with how they deliver the extra content
on jp it says you get an app that you launch, maybe you simply stream the files
while on eng (doesn't mention an app) it could be that you save them to storage
The fact we'll need to pirate this via Yuzu/Ryujinx is annoying enough, if I have to undub it too that will be frustrating to boot. Atlus needs to ensure that everything gets a concurrent PC launch and port the back catalog, especially Vanillaware stuff they now have publishing rights regarding. Its moronic we don't have Dragon's Crown Pro and Muramasa Rebirth on Steam for example.
Depending on the engine it uses, it MAY be easy to do at least if you're playing on Yuzu (not sure about Ryujinx but I think there too). I've made an undub patch similar to a layeredfs style where you just put a proper folder hierarchy (though you do need to get them from the JP version of course) in the proper place to tell it "load these and overlay them instead of the default ones". Saves you from having to frick around unpacking, decoding, substituting, and then repacking into a new NSP or whatever.
but yeah, Atlus has been doing so well in this regard, but it seems much like Square Enix there's always a JP publisher that learned their lesson then has a seizure and forgets for a game or three and then goes back to it.
I've felt the same. Hell, Sega found that it was primarily PC gamers on Steam who wanted and kept buying uncensored RGG studio titles, among Sega's other great successes on PC (Valkyria Chronicles was basically an unknown PS3 title, but sold really well because the port was well done for the time, priced reasonably etc. ). Atlus dragging their heels on stuff like P5Royal was stupid especially after how well P4Golden did, and of course now we get the P3Remake. Vanillaware however is a sticking point, lots of great games but they rarely if ever release PC versions despite interest, but now under Atlus and Sega this should really be cross platform

why would you assume there's no jap audio in the west version?
it should be fine, but anons above were talking about it maybe being a reason for pricing or size differences. Not to mention there are other games - even a fricking FIST OF THE NORTH STAR BOXING GAME on Switch that they somehow release in the west without JP audio.
because it's sega/fatlus and they already put NG+ behind a paywall, why wouldn't they put the real voice acting instead of westoid noises behind a paywall too?
No I distinctly rememebr that Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD and Xillia 1 were overpriced imports on PS3. Other games were cheaper but certain titles were just expensive for ??? reasons either due to popularity or fricking whatever.
elaborate
$88 if you want to play the game in Japanese
Frick that, can you pirate/mod/emulate it?
it's on Switch, so it's probably emulatable
>shitendo
homossexual
well it's not on Steam
why the frick is the american version 8.8GB anyway
is that almost 6GB of dubs in all those languages

kek I just noticed. Westerncucks really do be getting shat on and liking it.
the standard edition says 3gb so obviously the 8gb is for the extra content (artbook, music)
standard edition is 2.8GB in Japan
monarch is 2.9GB
there's barely any difference
idk maybe it has to do with how they deliver the extra content
on jp it says you get an app that you launch, maybe you simply stream the files
while on eng (doesn't mention an app) it could be that you save them to storage
again, it's the audio files.
>it's the audio files
yes and the image files from the monarch edition
not any uncompressed dubbing shenanigans
>69.99
no
why is jp monarch edition so expensive? standard is same price as western version
Just pirate it on PC like a normal person

>undub
shit I got so used to atlus releases having jp as an option lately that I didn't even think about this

I'm honestly surprised Sega hasn't forced Atlus to require PC with their published games yet given that Sega has found a lot of success on PC

yeah you are right
13 sentinels had dual audio so it should be fine
Japanese games are always stupidly expensive especially niche RPGs. Tales of Xillia was $100 to import.
Xillia wasn't particularly expensive compared to other games, the usd/jpy exchange rate just heavily favored the yen back then.
No I distinctly rememebr that Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD and Xillia 1 were overpriced imports on PS3. Other games were cheaper but certain titles were just expensive for ??? reasons either due to popularity or fricking whatever.
Wait. Is there no physical release?
