>it's a DDR style rhythm game >that's it
Is there a more blatant example of a game getting popular purely on style instead of actual gameplay than FNF?
moron, it's the mods that carried the shit out of it, not the style itself.
I doubt there's anyone here that eve remembers anything from the base game.
Because it's easy to surf off something that's currently hot to promote whatever garbage you want to share?

But why is it currently hot if we're acknowledging there was nothing else to like about it to begin with?

>currently hot
It's anything but that, I'd say.
Maybe a year or two ago. >why?
Because... of the mods? As I've been saying for the past 3 replies.
.EXEshit alone (which has basically nothing to do with the base game btw) completely eclipsed the popularity of the game and is still getting boatloads of references and mods to this day.

It was your words. Which is to say you were saying it was "currently hot" back when it was getting mods made for it. >Because... of the mods? As I've been saying for the past 3 replies.
You're literally saying that the mods god because because the game had mods made for it and those mods got made... because the game had mods for it.

Why do you end non-questions with a question mark?
I can understand why they've been quiet as they had to do the annoying bullshit of legal stuff, establishing a company, getting all the kickstarter junk handled and they're just some randoms with no business sense. last i heard/saw they completely rewrote the game from scratch to better suit what they need for the full game and also hiring on help and getting full animated cutscenes and shit. I can understand the delay but they've been a little too silent. At least a little snippet would not hurt at all.
>Fans are putting out entire mods bigger than the actual games with higher quality songs animations and mechanics
Honestly, what could the base game even do at this point?
Please understand, we need more backer money, we ran out.
>WE spent it all on crack you see. It's required so we can listen to these moronic beeps and boops for several hours straight.

Why would anyone make mods for something if they didn't care for the thing to begin with?
As a vehicle for what you might actually like?
The fact that 90% of mods are just people making their cringe OCs is telling enough for me.
>As a vehicle for what you might actually like?
But why if the thing you're basing it in is something you don't care for to begin with?

Don't remind me about this shit game. Can't believe Behemoth released that garbage, and it had a lot of potential too...
That's 100% false.
Pit People released in January 2017.
The Super Flash Bros released Snipperclips on the Switch in March 2017.
