Your own analogy defeats itself. Sure, you can still see my dick but at least you can't see my face anymore.
What's worse? Having your dick and face seen or just your dick?

There is an old joke, which I got reminded of.
        >Dude 1, Dude 2 and Dude 3 want to go to a brothel.
        >they go
        >they frick
        >brothel has an emergency, like fire or some shit
        >all three flee naked outta there
        >they have no clothes, besides three hats they find
        >they have to go through a lively street where most people know them
        >Dude 1 and 2 cover their dicks, Dude 3 covers his face
        >they all went by
        >Then when they're alone again Dude 1 and 2 ask Dude 3 why he did cover his face and not his dick, like them
        >Dude 3: The people I know recognize me by my face, not dick
        Something like that

I instantly block and delete. Otherwise if i just delete there is usally butthurt involved. Them trying to add me back, message me back or write on my profile. If you're hiding from me i wont be your friend anymore. I will also do the same if you insult me in any way, if you ignore 1 of my messages, if you say you're going to play but then give some excuse, If you havent played with me recently. You're not my friend then. I will forget about you in like 1 hour. Maybe 1-2 days at most. It will be like you never existed. I can recall ive done it to lots of people. But i cant recall anything about those people. You're not my friends.

I'm invisible because I don't want to spam my friends with notifications when I test mods and restart the game over and over. Besides, you're not entitled to my attention 24/7, maybe I'm doing other shit or just don't feel like talking.

If he's WFH and has colleagues added as friends he could be hiding from them while supposedly working. Maybe even his boss. Not everyone's an obsessed moron that checks his friend's account to know for certain if he's playing.

  26. 2 weeks ago

I appear offline because when I had a large friends list (100-125 ppl) morons would send me invites nonstop to games I'm not playing. If you see me playing Yakuza don't spam me invites to play Fortnite or some shit. Just message me and ask me if I want to play. If I wanted to play whatever the frick you're playing, I'd be on THAT instead of Yakuza or whatever I'm currently playing. For some reason morons can't comprehend that and you can't just outright say it without people getting butthurt, so I just appear offline.

I literally had to hide my games/trophies list because some chick I added from playing zombies messaged me saying she knew I was online but just hiding offline to avoid her because she checked my games on Playstation and sorted by "LAST PLAYED" and it said I was playing 15 mins ago. People on the internet are fricking lunatics.

I used to use invisible status because I had former classmates, friends and co-workers on Steam and didn't want them to see me playing games when say, a project is due or whatever because inevitably one would message me like "YA GET THAT BIG PROJECT DONE?" I've since done the proper thing and removed practically everyone but a small group of people I play games with and close friends.
It's a useful social tool, and I find the debate about its proper use funny. Some people are socially stunted and have zero idea of when they should just leave somebody alone to the point of pushing boundaries like watching playtime. Here's a tip for them: learn how to fricking be by yourself and stop using people to emotionally prop yourself up. Take some fricking responsibility for your behaviour and fix it. And maybe get some fricking self-awareness while you're at it, it's painful to look at how emotionally moronic you are and completely oblivious.

its not about fooling you, it has nothing to do with you actually
its only about not having to have the confrontation of saying "no" when you want to chill by yourself, or even worse, being pressured into saying "yes" and having a game become an emotional responsibility chore

Only after the 2 year mark and if we talk regularly I consider them real friends. I'm constantly deleting friends from steam, currently at 10 friends only with half of those being irl friends. 2 of those I met online but I'm sure I'm gonna delete soon, since we don't talk much.
